I'm glad companies like yours exist that make quality products. My biggest complaint about all manufacturers... both tools, vacuum/extractors, hoses... they each have their own "standard" as far as size and connector design. Having to buy adapters for every combo should drive them all to work on a real standard and help us end-users, one would think. You buy expensive tools and extractors and can't hook them up without spending even more money on adapters that many times are cheap junk and do not work well.
I just bought a festool vac but I use makita tools, guess which tools hook up to the 27mm hose? None. I got rid of the festool hose and got the 36mm nilfisk hose with quick change end. Swap between 2 different ends in 1 second and will hook up to every tool. Not to mention all this cost less than a new festool hose on its own and I also get better airflow, dust extraction and vacuuming the floor as the festool floor wand is a stupid restrictive design.
I have been shocked by my Ridgid shop vac during winter, very dry times, but it was more irritating that the hose would collect dust and make a mess, I got the CT26 about 6 years ago and love it, I put blue tooth on it and up graded green hose I also have 5 festool sanders, they work together so well.
Yes it is not fun to get shocked. I purchased the Surfprep Electric Sander and it does not come with anti-static hose, and I got shocked ALL THE TIME with that hose, but when I run the Festool hose, no problem. It is worth every penny. Wow I can't believe the link for all the adapters you posted, I have so many of those tools that I could never get good dust collection with my Festool vac until now, I will be ordering several of those adapters this week, including the hose clips, thank you!
Great video. Just bought the CT15 and now have to figure out the compatibility with all my other non-festool brand tools! For what its worth, I find the ID of the D27 hose fits fairly snug over the makita palm sander ( I have the same one as in the video).
Please make an updated video. I recently purchased a ct15E. The description noted that it comes with a new anti-static hose. When I received it I was disappointed. I started to do some research and have found out it is anti-static. It does not have the braided sleeve. I’ve noticed it has caused a lot of confusion among the community, according to some peoples posts in different forums.
The static is not just for the electric shock when it comes to dust collection but rather the static does not cause the micro dust to be attached to the hose itself as with regular hose.
Also, some types of dust can be ignited by static sparks, and the anti-static hose minimises that (though if you work with that kind of material you really want a grounded hose, not just an anti-static one).
@toolcurve I just bought a Festool Planex and CT36 Dust Extractor. Do you have an adapter from the 36mm black non link host to 27mm so I can use with the smaller Festools?
I used to be in the never shocked camp. I was vacuuming out a metal gatbage can/burn barrel with the rigid and got a huge shock. Ill use my festool next time.
I just ordered a ct48ac. I need to sand the railings on top of my boathouse and would rather not lug the unit up there. What should I order to get a longer hose please....connectors...what are my hose options to go longer ? Also, will my ro 150 that I ordered attach right out of the box to the dust collection unit or do I need to order anything else to connect them? thank you
The only thing I can say about the 27mm tho.. If I use it as a "shop vac" and I put a extension on it, I find a lot of things get clogged up going into that 27mm click lock haha. I've been shocked using a dewalt 20v cordless sander with the CT26 using anti-static hose running off 100 feet of 12 gauge extension cord (ungrounded) on the GFCI. So I have no idea its its because the cord wasn't grounded, but I since it was gfci I wasn't too worried.
@@toolcurve Its not the filter that gets clogged... Larger debris will get stuck across the mouth of the 27mm connector and I'll have to remove the wand to snap a twig or whatever is bridging across the 27mm connector opening. The other thing I noticed is that lots of debris build up around the connections of the accessories and so when you take them off of your hose you'll have sand and drywall dust or whatnot spill out (Always remove accessories with vacuum running or you may be exposed to hazardous dust etc). The last thing is that you actually have to wash the hose from time to time because the cloth sleeve will absorb dust/grime etc.. I wash mine after every job that may contain hazardous materials just in case, but yea I'm not sure how I feel about the cloth sleeve.
I just bought the Festool CT 36 E AC along with the Planex LHS 2 225 EQI-Plus, DTS 400 REQ-plus sander and the RTS 400 REQ orbital sander. I have just learned more information abut the hose and conections that come stock with my dust extractor i belive it is the D36 hose, solid black. from my understanding, the hose that comes stock is specifically designed for the Planex LHS 2 225 EQI-Plus drywall sander. does this mean I need to buy a different hose for the RTS and DTS sanders? is there a different end attachment I need to hook-up to the stock hose? would you recommend to the adapter or a new hose
i've felt static electricity for the first time using a CT 36 AC connected to a dewalt cordless palm sander via a centec hose. it wasn't a shock, but you can feel it like little needles on your arm.
Hi I have a Festool rectangle sander rts 400 but cannot afford your vacuum so I need to attach the sander to my ryobi vacuum but it doesn’t fit so do you have an adapter?
hek yes! I've been shocked many times with all plastic hoses. Mostly annoying, static shocks are never really bad. I'd say it's the static cling as well as shocks which are annoying
They should have made the pre-separator with at least the 36 in mind so you could run the beater bar and the planex and renofix in mind without losses. And bulk cleanup. Volume is a big deal with some things.
Even if they're not using anti-static plastic (or an anti-static coat), I don't think enough dust will rub against the connectors to make static build-up much of an issue.
Exactly what I wanted to know...if my Dewalt sander and Freud biscuit joiner would hook to the hose! Very hard to watch though, hooking camera to a tripod would want me to watch more of your videos.
I have your 27mm power cord clips (realistically I have to use twice as many). Do you make 36mm? 50mm? 2-1/2"? 50mm hoses are intended to be used as extensions. They aren't long enough (and quite expensive) so I also use 2-1/2" hose for my overhead dust collection setup. I have to tape the power cords to the hoses, which is ugly and gets stick-ums all over the hoses.
Do you sell an adapter to connect a 36mm hose to a 27mm I have a need for longer hose as to where my vac is located. I thought if I purchase a 36 for my table saw and when I need to sand I can attach the 27 to the 36. Thanks
Europe forced apple to change their cords to USB-C to cut down on unnecessary waste and complexity. I wish they'd do it with hose connections and other similar unnecessary items.
When making a video either set the camera to be stationary or get someone to hold the camera while you demonstrate , the camera Movement makes this video not easy to watch. 🤦♂️
I have a DW734 planer and Festool CT15 dust extractor (27mm hose). The website only has connector for DW735. Will that connector work on the DW734 with the 27mm hose?
Did you ever get this worked out? I am interested in using my 27mm with planer (I have the Festool separator as well) and am interested in how it performs.

That's the nice thing about standards. Everybody has one.

@@kizzjd9578 My best purchase... a Rockler collapsable hose and quick-connect adapter kit. The Festool hose remains in the box... mostly useless.
Everything I’ve ever ordered from tool curve has been top notch. Keep up the good work.

Looks awesome. Can you make the adapters and cord clips in black?

Thats a lie then because my festool hose is absolutely caked in silica dust inside of it.
Is there an attachment on the 27 hose for the Bauer 9”Variable Speed Drywall Sander from Harbor Freight?
@toolcurve I just bought a Festool Planex and CT36 Dust Extractor. Do you have an adapter from the 36mm black non link host to 27mm so I can use with the smaller Festools?
Do you expect to have a Milwaukee M18 Packout Track Saw adapter soon?
Can we purchases the STL or model files to print our own?

Do you make an adaptor to fit the Trend T11 routers? And being from the UK, is etsy the best way to perchance these?

What about the 50mm hose?
I do concrete grinding, i use a bosch VAC090AH vacuum, what size vacuum hose do you recommend? 27mm or 36mm

Hey guys , do u have the hose clips for the 36??
I sent you a message on Etsy...... I was try to ask if you had the adapters for the Makita 12 in 40V miter saw GSL04M1
Hello, what is the 27/32 diameter at festool??🤩
Do you still sell these? Thx.
high grea video do you do festool 27mm hose adaptors to fit a bosch get 75 orbital sander and a dewalt dwe 6423 orbital sander thankyou
Is your company still doing business, @ToolCurve?
Do you have a 27mm to 36mm as I need to attach my 27mm hose to my hl 850?
will festool fit onto a 4inch dust port?
I used a kärcher vac at my company... The job was to remove very fine dust from an air dryer. I got shocked around 20x.... Never doing that again...
do you have the adaptor to a dewalt miter saw and dewalt table saw?

First time i got static was while vacuuming concrete floor 😂 ended up working with proper rubber gloves cuz i got shocked every 10s.
Never been shocked due to static build up, but the snag prevention is nice.
Europe forced apple to change their cords to USB-C to cut down on unnecessary waste and complexity. I wish they'd do it with hose connections and other similar unnecessary items.
The big one sucks sooo hard. Well worth getting.
A tripod would be nice here.

is there an adapter to hook up a 36mm Festool hose to a Bosch 9gal dust extractor?

Do you make an adapter for a aircat sander ?
