    I really hate to say this but I’ve watched the end of the video a number of times and I really don’t think you made the second chair. It really appears as though you bought a replica Eames Lounge Chair then spray painted and reupholstered it. In the detail shots where you talk about the thickness of the plywood, it’s clear that there’s no evidence of the kerf bending technique you used on the first chair. The plywood appears to be steam bent or laminated directly around a form, which you made no mention of. Aside from the tight curves, there’s a gentle curve along the width of the seat that couldn’t be made with the techniques and construction you described. I’ve looked around and buying the hardware individually would actually be more expensive than buying an entire replica chair, which would still be at least $600. There are many self-taught, low-budget, DIY furniture builders on UA-cam that build very strong pieces with limited tools and materials. It absolutely can be done and I’m not trying to say that it’s not possible to do on a budget or if you’re learning along the way, but what you’re doing is setting your viewers up for failure. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with admitting that something didn’t work out how you wanted it to, especially when you’re learning new techniques. But it’s not fair to tell your viewers “if I can do it, you can do it better” if you’re showing them how to build something that can barely hold its own weight then pretending that the process will yield much better results. It’s your obligation as a creator to not intentionally mislead your viewers, subscribers, and patrons. I found this video because I’m looking to build an Eames chair as well, so if I’m wrong I’d love for you to make an update video describing the process of building the second chair in more detail. If I’m not wrong, I think you owe it to your viewers to tell the truth.

      Thank you! I'm not the only one who thinks this! I don't understand why she lied about it, it's very obvious she did not make the second chair, otherwise she would have documented it--saying she didn't think anyone would be interested in seeing the process for a second time is BS, of course viewers want to see MORE content! The difference in this finished product and all her others is night and day--tons of visible imperfections usually, which is not a bad thing! I love seeing the imperfections! But this one is a total lie. Made me less interested in watching this channel. Would have preferred if she told the truth and said it was a failure, much more relatable and honest. It's a bad look to lie to your viewers. Like, you seriously don't think that your viewers would be interested in how you built a PERFECT Eames chair replica on the second try with tools everyone has lying around the house?! Fake.

      I don't know about you, but my first try is always a mess. Second time around, I correct all the mistakes I made and take my time. This mean I end up with perfection. Also, her second chaor is uneven at the edges, which I personally would spend hours on sanding evenly.

    • @MultiSuiss
      @MultiSuiss Місяць тому +2

      @@rialdaosmanovic2142 you might do this but as you saw on her first chair, she wouldn’t. She didn’t even try to make the cushions the same size.
      20 minutes of instructions and then straight up lied about the second chair.

    I really enjoy watching your videos! Even when things are "sloppy" it is still inspiring to know that anyone can make something and get better over time. But I am curious why you didn't show any pictures or videos or anything about you making the second chair? There are so many details about the shape and construction of the second chair that are such a big difference from your first one and, I don't want to accuse, but it looks like you didn't actually make that second chair. There are plenty of inexpensive Eames chair replicas you can buy online, and your second chair looks kind of suspicious--like it was bought and spray painted black and the cushions were just covered in that pink fabric. I hope I am wrong but it's pretty suspicious. Love your content, anyway!

      Heyyyy! Thanks for the comment! I didn’t think anyone wanted to see the same almost identical instructions 2 times. I thought it would Be a lost of time for all of you.

    • @griffinvanhorne8695
      @griffinvanhorne8695 Рік тому +5

      I have to second this. The second chair doesn’t have any evidence of being “kerf bent” like the first chair was. At the very least, you used a much more complicated construction technique without explaining it at all. There are a number of other features that really make this look like you purchased a replica Eames Lounge Chair, which would be at least $600.

    You can actually bend plywood by steaming it.. the moisture & heat soften the wood to make it pliable & when it dries/cools it holds its shape.

    OmG! It looks amazing. I've always been a lover of this chair, but the mere thought of making it at home blows my mind. Thanks for the tutorial. Very interesting. :D

Its a whole to world stepping outside the margin has inspired to be a better person. 🙏 look how you inspired me to create and the ripple goes on. ✨️ You are changing the world.

    It takes years of dedicated training to become a true carpenter, I think you did an amazing job.
    The circular saw can be guided in straight lines using a homade jig. This can be made from would and there are lots of UA-cam videos on how to make one. This would not only help the lines but make it easier on your wrist too. The chair looks great. You should be very proud of yourself. 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏

      Yea you are right! I should have bought clamps and hold the wood like in place to pass the circular saw but o wanted to show that you can do it with little equipment.
