!!! The Isthmura belli was at my dad's workplace a few years ago! It was a welding area, so he took the salamander and we set them free near our house by the creek. The same thing happened to a HUGE praying mantis bigger than my hand that, imagine if you will, grown up old welders that ride pickup trucks to work and live on or near farms, were terrified of. And? The salamander was adorable??? 10/10

How is Saturn doing? I’ve been thinking about him a lot since I saw his video! I take in reptiles that people don’t want and/or don’t know how to care for, rehabilitate them If necessary, get them eating and thriving, then re-home them in a home that I’m confident will be capable of caring for them properly. Love your videos so much!!

I would LOVE to see how your salamanders are going to be set up. I rescued a tiger salamander back in October (properly named Wednesday) and recently I've been thinking about making her a Paludarium (half land/ half water) She tends to stay in her water at night and dig in the day time. I adore those new salamanders so cool looking, even though I tend to prefer the chunky monkeys of the mole salamanders.

You said that deforestation and habitat losses are large drivers of salamander loss (which is very true!). I was curious, what you think about diseases like Bsal and its relative impact (current and projected) on salamander populations?
Obviously pretty terrible. I haven't looked into the impacts of bsal or chytrid or SFD in-depth but have heard plenty about them. I'm actually going to be ordering a testing kit for these ones just in case.
Hello! What a beautiful pair of animals! Just wondering what your thoughts are on catching and keeping wild animals in the case of invasive species? I come from Ibiza, Spain where there is a real problem with invasive colubrids eating the autochthonous species of the island. Measures by the government involve setting traps and killing all the snakes they find. In a situation like that, would herping a snake from the wild be an option? Would it even adapt to an enclosure? Thanks!
I am strongly in support of keeping invasive species as pets if you can properly support the animal and don't allow it to return to the wild
