Thanks, Rob! Just loaded some LRX bullets for my 6 ARC gas gun for deer hunting. If you have a successful hunt with the LRX bullets, will you let us know how it went?
Similar thing happened to me last week. I grabbed a box of some Hornady 129 grain Interlock SP’s in 6.5 creedmoor I had loaded up last year, but ended up not shooting. I looked in my logbook, and the data I had recorded for that load showed a 5 shot group of .74”. But when I got to the range, the first 3 I shots I took were well over an inch!
Definitely liked that 95gn Barnes LRX load. Thats getting into the speeds that would make me happy, too bad that's really top end for even such a light bullet in the 6ARC.
Thanks for the vid. I have same rifle and loaded up 80 ttsx .065” off and was impressed with accuracy. Haven’t shot a deer with em yet. I went off hornadys data for the 80 gmx bolt data and 30.6 gr tac is giving 3,140 so I stopped there. And same rifle but mine has issue with cratering and punching primers. Fed 205 M AR seem to be best primer for mine. My gun even punched primer in factory ammo
I got one more week before the orange army hits the ohio woods got to get my muzzle loader sighted in dam good groups with barnes good luck Rob in the deer woods
I've had very good results with the Berger 95gr classic hunter and Leverevolution, easily the best combo I've shot sofar. The one batch of 103gr ELD-X I tried didn't group well (1.5" avg). Looking forward to spending more time with it in the spring and I'll try again.
Love your rifle. I have two 6 ARC AR rifles. Both shoot amazing for gas guns.( Both under an inch at one hundred) To fine tune my accuracy I purchased a Eric Cortina EC tuner. Well worth the price for the results. I would suggest you look into one for that 6 ARC. Good luck.
That’s some good shooting. My 7wsm likes the 120ttsx and doesn’t seem to shoot well with anything else I have tried. The copper seems to make a really clean wound channel and all have made an exit. The pressure signs seems to be easier to hit with the solid copper bullets. Happy hunting 👍👍
Man i have a bunch of 4166 and to date ive yet to find a gun/bullet combo that likes it... its like it doesnt like being compressed and it doesn't like having room in the case either... but I've tried several AR's in 223/556 and bullets, both my Grendels and several bullets, my 6ARC and a few bullets, and both my 22-250 and 22-250AI with several bullets. Ive had a bunch of luck with IMR powders and found a big jug of 4166 for cheap so took a chance but man that backfired big time... LOL Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!
I had great results with 4166 in two 260 Remingtons with the 123 Absolute Hammer. Could not find a combo that worked in 6arc. Its discontinued now I think.
Great information as always.. Like you I wonder if a different powder combination would bring the 6mmARC to life lol. I have a bottle of superformance powder I have been debating on loadingredients some 6mm arc to test. I seen the RL17 video and that looked interesting. I haveca 24inch barrel so I thought hhmmm slower burning powder should work well. unfortunately to much work and not much time for the reloading bench. I would love to twist your ear on this subject and get your thoughts and or experiences on 6mmARC with a slower powder.
Appreciate the vid as it is just real. Good stuff. Happy hunting. Stay safe. Barnes groups impressed! ELDX aren't bad but didn't look great next to Barnes.
@@RobsReloading correct. Of note my gas gun shoots the LRX better than any Hornady bullet so far. I was getting about 2750 with 28.5 grains Win 748 out of my 22 inch barrel.
Great video! I went with the 80gr ttsx but I'm now thinking the LRX is probably the better option. I found that I was able to get better velocity with N540 than varget. Both loads shot excellent though. Let us know how it performs!

Ever measured your firing pin protrusion? Might be that your firing pin is a bit longer than it ought to be.

Good stuff Rob! Looks like a great hunting load. Good luck in the field!
I dont know if you use any ballistic gel but that lrx load would be great to see 100 yard gel test on.
Its hornady brass so its soft and the primer still looked rounded on The edges. Looks like a good load good shooting
That Barnes shot amazing.

I know it's 10 months late but Hodgdon shows load data for the 95gr lrx bullet

Good job !
Hogdon had load data for 6mm arc and the LRX bullet.
Not with Varget or any other suitable temp stable powder.

@@RobsReloading They do now! 26.7 gr Varget for 26,400 fps (yeah typo on their part haha) but it must be gas gun safe?
Careful...once you go Barnes, not much else will do
If you can find varget right now consider yourself fortunate.
