    I'm going to try your method. Thank you for sharing. If I'm going to recycle the coconut shell, I'll use a saw to cut it in half. Then I sand the edges and shell, smooth inside and out and shine it up. I'll glue something to the bottom so the coconut bowl doesn't roll and sits flat. I use the coconut dish as a container for home made coconut oil soap/shampoo, or sample jar of the freshly made coconut oil, or coconut flour and give them as gifts. I use the coconut pulp to make the flour. The coconut curd can be fried up and eaten. Some people like fried coconut curd but I'm not one of them. Lastly, any coconut water left over after making the oil can be frozen for use later. Just thought I would share with others, what others shared with me. Peace Out

    Please never use sharp pointy knife for removing coconut meat always use butter knife it very easy to remove . My anti was very badly injured to use pointy knife .

    I tried this, this evening, but I forgot to use warm water does it matter? Mine is in the fridge now, waiting to see the outcome in some hours.

      It helps retain all the oil, if u don't use it then u will lose some of it

      It's a gentle smell, the one extracted with the heat method had a stronger smell as compared to this.

      BassFartz Ingredients
      2 cups Shredded Coconut,
      3/4 cup Sweetened Condensed Milk
      1/3 cup sour cream
      A few drops vanilla essence
      Directions
      1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
      2. In a large bowl, stir together Coconut, sweetened condensed Milk and sour cream and vanilla until well-combined.
      3. Coat mini muffin pans with non-stick spray.
      4. Fill each muffin cup to the top with the coconut mixture, pressing to tamp down.
      5. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
      6. Cool completely in the pan.
      Recipe number 2
      Ingredients:
      1/2 cup butter, softened
      1/2 cup granulated sugar
      3 eggs
      1/3 cup coconut milk
      1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
      1 tablespoon rum (optional)
      1-1/2 cups shredded coconut
      2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
      Directions:
      Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9-inch baking pan with cooking spray. Cream butter and sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy. Add in the eggs, one at a time, scraping the sides of the bowl after each addition. Add the coconut milk, sweetened condensed milk, and rum beating for about a minute until well combined. Stir in the shredded coconut and all-purpose flour. Pour batter into prepared baking pan.
      Bake Cocada at 350°F for 25 to 30 minutes until lightly golden brown and the center has set.
      Remove from oven and let cool in pan for 10 minutes; cut into squares.

      Did u use warm water? Was your temperature warm enough to extract the oil?

      I too faced similar issue, due to more water added (or) coconut is not well matured. What I did is to run more iterations of -> keep in fridge overnight, and keep in warm temperature, then water was getting seperated. Remove water, keep in fridge again... Please do so., You will get results for sure.

      @@brownbread7360 if u heat, the process will not called extra virgin oil... if u heat the entire coconut water u will definitely get the oil, but then its just the oil not vigin oil.

    Can i buy fresh coconut milk from the market and use it to get the oil using your method? If can, so i should start by adding some water into the milk? Because if im not mistaken the coconut milk is blended only from coconut and no water is added.

    When I blend my coconuts and squeeze out the milk and leave it to rest for 24 hours the cream doesn’t harden so how am I supposed to take the cream out of the water??

      Yves Shaz Lewis I’ve tried that, I left it in the fridge and it still stayed creamy for some reason and then I tried to freeze it and it became even harder to separate the two. I’m surely doing something wrong I’m not sure what though

      Coconut oil can be in liquid or solid form depending on the temperature of the environment it is placed. This does not affect the taste or nutritional content. You can put it in the fridge if you desire but I found that unneccessary especially if you are using it for cooking.

      @@YvesShazLewis thanks for reply. I will have to test it. I have normal coconuts also, but I wanted to use the dry ones for oil, actually they have a higher oil content than normal coconuts. But to add water, and then again remove it... very complicated. Maybe I should better go for a press, but that again costs more money...

    I already managed to get to the last stage where i can see layer of water, oil, and at the top is the milk. Then i put in the freezer, then discard the water. But the oil and milk after 2 hours still havent melt into liquid, so i stir them. After it melt, now it become white and the milk seems like mix together again with the oil😭 is it i have fail? Or if i left it for hours, will the milk and oil separated again? 😔

      It's not spoilt, u can put it in the fridge now to make it easier to separate the water from the oil
