People like John MacAthur really messed with my faith, confused me, upset me, and almost made me have a nervous breakdown thinking I wasnt saved. They made me angry at and untrusting of God because of their teaching. I am finally shaking that off and have put my faith back on Christ Jesus ONLY for my salvation.
None of it really makes sense until you compare the True gospel of Jesus Christ with the false gospel of men.

I'll raise you...went to Macarthur's school..doubted so bad abandoned faith for 12 years. Got addicted to porn and gambling..Periods of severe depression..Got my wife pregnant with my daughter out of wedlock..disillusioning my family and became estranged from all of them..mom,dad, brother, sister, best friend...Then, 12 years to the day I walked away from God my wife lost our second baby and needed surgery. A few months later a friend brought me back to true grace. Still have fallout from Lordship more than 25 years later.
I love this guy! In a sea of John MacArthurs, John Pipers, Ray Comforts and Francis Chans it's great to actually hear someone preach the true gospel!

@@davemitchell116 Comfort has said he's not a Calvinist and I also heard he believes salvific loss? Not sure. But many Lord shippers don't realize lordship comes from Calvinism which is from Catholicism so they believe Calvinism whether they realize it or not.

Keep reading the NT daily. You will be sanctified by doing so. You will find verses that you. God will show through His word who He is. You will find that during the second, third, fourth, etc, reading that verses will "jump" out at you that you didn't see before. It is a WONDERFUL journey. God bless you.

I use to be caught up in lordship salvation and I was confused and never had any eternal security. When I was shown the grace gospel. I was releaved and upset that I had been lied to most of my life

I'm a lordship salvation believer and certainly have guaranteed eternal salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ only.
It's Jesus Christ alone who completes my salvation through Him.
To say lordship salvation is wrong is to say Jesus Christ isn't Lord of your life.

It would be good if all the folks would stop jumping to the conclusion that Yankee is teaching we should live a life of sinful abandon. He’s not at all. Rather, we are fooling ourselves if we think we will never sin again if we are “really saved”. I am thankful for the simple gospel which states “believe/trust in Jesus finished work”. I got off the merry-go-round of “don’t you dare mess up again because if you do, you’re damned”. I am a human being and I have no righteousness of my own to lay on the altar. He offered me His righteousness because He knows I don’t have a snowballs chance unless I’m covered by His. Jesus paid it all. All to Him I owe. Thank You, Jesus!!!

We’re sheep, and humans in general really aren’t too smart. God has graciously determined that salvation is by grace through faith, and it really is that simple. And His grace is manifold, equipping believers for all their spiritual needs in their walk with Him.

Anyone who tells you they stopped sinning after getting saved are lying to you, which is another sin. lol. All have fallen short, even Calvinists. They sin daily. I struggle with things too, but want to change. God is like a great gardener.... he prunes the ugly off of us over time. There are things we'll struggle with until the day we die. Calvinists are pharisees. They're self righteous.

John Hagee has also lead people to Christ, but I have a relative whom has worked for him and can tell you just how much of a hypocrite he is. God can use anyone...he can even reveal himself thru a stripper...Jesus did with me, but that does not make it right to go to a strip club.

I found Brother Yankee a few ago and immediately subscribed. When times get bad and I get down, I listen to his sermons and the truth of the gospel told simply and accurately always put life back into perspective. He is a great teacher.

Yep, It is crystal clear! All you have to do is repent of your sins and believe in Jesus! You don’t have to have a warm fuzzy or good feeling to know that you’re saved. I’m just relieved that all I need to do is ask Jesus to forgive me every time I sin. In fact, I don’t sin as much. I don’t feel as guilty now. Is that okay? Do I need to anything else? You would not believe what a blessing this man has been to so many of us in Tampa who preach the gospel

My journey to knowing the truth had been very difficult. Not because of difficulty to perform but because of rare teachings like this. First I believed you can lose salvation for my previous religion was an arminianist. Then after many cycles of struggles, I tumbled upon the teachings of lordship salvationist like Paul Washer, Tim Conway, John Piper, Mc Arthur and so forth. Their teaching was like very good. For 2 years, everyday I never stopped listening to them. I felt like I was so good because after being with arminianist since childhood, I felt saved...but...things start to conflict again. I sinned and sinned and sinned. Am I really saved, I asked that time. Because base on their teachings, there will be evidences of improvements on your good work performances and lessening bad works. But as I sinned, I started to doubt. I asked God, how to stop sinning. I did not get an answer for a while. I continued my study of the Bible and listened to their teachings but somehow they still directed me to work base salvation. Nothing changed, I am still the same just as I was an arminianist. Do I loved to sin? One thing is for sure, there is conscience. Since childhood everytime I make mistakes, conscience will always be the post effect. So do I love to sin? There are cases I do not commit it, but there were also yes. Not until I gave up trying to become holy by stopping to sin because I realize I can't that God directed me to one of Yankee's teaching. It only took 1 sermon to get it. After his teachings, all majority of the passages in the Bible became clear to me. At last now I am sure I am saved. It is not by my works but by God's grace thru Jesus Christ's payment of my sins. Lordship salvationist uses scripture with blocked understanding. Until you realized you can't stop sinning, that's the perfect you will realized you only need Jesus Christ to save you. Not by your performance all throughout the rest of your life, but because you believed in him who saved you. All those verses you placed there saying misleading the many like "He who began a good work in you will finish will finish it...." YOU MISINTERPRETED IT". It is so simple to understand through the lens of grace, yet you still try to connect it to works base performance. I understand because I was previously an Arminianist and then a believer of Lordship Salvationist teachings. The struggle I had because of their teaching and the realization I had after getting freed from those beliefs made me understand Jesus and the KJV Bible. So what does Philippians 1:6 really means? It just means they are confident in Jesus Christ payment of sins for them that after they believed, God will fulfill His promise until the very end. Paul was in defense of the gospel and doing everything he can to protect its purity against the likes of works base salvation. So that Philippians understanding of the gospel is clear because the only way to be holy is thru Jesus Christ. Again, this do not mean to stop sinning, because it is impossible. Rather, it means our standing in God's eye, that we are perfect and holy because He sees Jesus in us, because we believed.

MacArthur also teaches that there is NO efficacy (no power) in the Blood of Christ, and that one can take the Mark of the Beast and still be saved. Revelation 14 says otherwise. NEITHER of them ever taught the TRUTH concerning the whole council of God!

What if I choose to keep living the same way I lived before I became a Christian? The Bible says that once I am in Christ, I become a new creature, old things pass away and all things become new. That would infer that a change has taken place somewhere. Obviously, our physical self remains unchanged, but our spiritual self is the new creation. This is the meaning of being born again. When you are born again, you will begin to bear good fruit. It is IMPOSSIBLE to bear bad fruit if you’re born again, just as it is IMPOSSIBLE to bear good fruit if you aren’t born again. Refer to the Fruits of the Spirit in your Bible. Therefore, if you live life the same way you did before you became a Christian, you are NOT saved. It is IMPOSSIBLE to see Heaven without being born again. John 3:3

I labored under a yoke of bondage to Lordship Salvation in my teens. I tried so hard to evidence my salvation by intensive Bible reading, prayer, riding my bike across town to attend a Christian school, avoiding secular influences like television, and giving a tremendous amount of my meager paychecks to Christian ministries. The yoke was heavy, and only grew heavier over time. I was attending MacArthur's college (one semester) when it all came to a head. I realized that NONE of what I was doing was biblical. Worse, MacArthur's school was charging me a fortune, and not teaching me anything I hadn't learned in Sunday School. Beyond his provocative, legalistic doctrine, he had nothing to offer. I left the faith and chased Satan for awhile, found him, ugh, and came back to Christ.
Looking back, I realize that the church I went to growing up (not MacArthur's but similar, I imagine) was deeply carnal. They were all very successful and wealthy. For them, church wasn't about chasing hard after God, it was about looking pious and making connections. They knew what was buying their nice house, and it wasn't Jesus. It was money and that was whom they served. In an environment like that, you can see the appeal of MacArthur's legalism for the pastor. If your church is full of carnal blowhards who aren't growing, then you would tend to question whether they are saved at all. Maybe they just need a push to do more in their own strength...
The problem is that MacArthurism turns the doctrine of sanctification around. The Holy Ghost is the one who reforms us from the inside, not we ourselves through hard work, not the pastor's threats of lost salvation. When you put the reform onus on the believer, everything falls apart. The only growth is in the wrong direction. I'm so glad I grew beyond MacArthur, but wish it hadn't cost me so terribly.
Excellent message as usual Dr. Arnold! I used to listen to John MacArthur and I know all too well his teachings on Calvinism and lordship salvation.
I only wish I understood why the lordship Salvation lovers feel the need to be rude, demeaning and sarcastic toward others.

@Garth Andrews That is probably true. It must break God's heart to see them act in this way. So many of them would be quick to attack ("correct?") anyone who believes in OSAS and acts the way they do.
There is a very subtle hint of Nicolaitanism in there as well. Instead of outright saying “to oppose us is to oppose God” they use a lot of circular logic and straw man arguments and put it against God’s Sovereignty. So in essence to question any of their doctrine is questioning God himself.
I’m still learning the truth behind these topics and grace message and eternal security. I grew up around the lordship movement even though it wasn’t called that then. It has caused a lot of depression and confusion because I physically couldn’t surrender my whole mind. And you are right psalms 37v4, I see and speak about the attitudes, meanness, and arrogance of those in lordship salvation. It appears to be rampant.
They're an arrogant, self righteous lot who think Calvin understood Jesus better than anyone else. Not one time did I read the word "Calvinism" in the Bible. Not once. They're pharisees. They lock on to the predestination passages because Calvin did.
Brother Ralph it is so encouraging to hear your messages. I'm qurantined at home, as I should be, with a Covid fever. If there are breathing problems that occurs by day 8, I'm entering day 6. But the true point is I'm faced with the reality of possible death within a month. Sure, I'm healthy otherwise, work out in the gym and eat smart and if there's a meal plan I cheat like most people. But if I don't make it I know I am saved. I had assurance before listening to you until I mess up in some way. No, I'm saved forever by the blood of Jesus Christ. My salvation means more now than ever before.

After my 10th day I went to the VA for a med refill and since I had fluid build up in my lungs I was admitted to the hospital for 5 days. It was nearly a month after that I went back to work. I knew it was treatable and most recover but there's always that possibility something happens...like a blood clot. No blood clots but did have a strange swelling in my ankle for almost a month. Kinda strange.
It seems a lot of people called out unto the Lord when they were sick. I mean people who previously did not.
I only had it once, some people more than once who I work with at the VA. Glad it's almost over.

Thank God for this man, Dr. Ralph Arnold. I had some confusion as well with salvation and discipleship, but with these videos and other true preachers of the true gospel of Christ, that Jesus died, was buried and rose again for the forgiveness of my sins, has become even much clearer now.
So if someone got saved with vigor and maintained quite well moved away and stopped going to church, then the world starts to enter his mind more, then starts hanging with friends that pull him into other lifestyles.
Fast forward 15 years, he's the owner of a strip club, he has participated in taking some of "his girls" to get abortions. Participates in drug using and selling.
If you knew this person, would you tell him that he has to repent? If he said passively that, "oh yeah man, dont worry,, I believe in God, Jesus and all that. "
Would you say this person is saved?

What an awesome sermon. My church here in South Africa worships John Mac Arthur. Its really sad to see.
They do in America also. The things people post are praises and worship of Macarthur and rarely about Jesus. Or they glorify his false gospel sermons, rather than the message of the Gospel of grace and trusting in Jesus. There is none of that. I'm always grieved by the bewitching he does to those who follow his lead. You can tell they are in a religious trance by their responses to his teachings. Even Macarthur appears to be in a religious trance.

Cult of personality teachers like John McArthur, John Piper, and Paul Washer are extremely popular, and this lends credibility to their false teachings. It ends up that those who accept their teachings can not imagine them being heretics and will defend them even against Scriptural proofs. My temperature burns hot against Lordship Salvation. I hear you. Bad enough the churches in my area either preach a false gospel (ex. Prosperity, Word of Faith, JWs, SDAs, etc.) or are purpose-driven aka "Gospel Compromising Purpose Drivel" as I call them...the one or 2 that actually talk about salvation use MacArthur's method. :( We need to stop complicating salvation. God never intended for us to have to do anything except realize we can't save ourselves, and trust in Jesus.

I have never heard of Lordship salvation. But 4 years ago, I began seeking truth, God, at age 66. I would listen to many teachers, pastors.... each only briefly. I could not stomach McArthur, Piper, calvinism etc... I believe I was gifted discernment back then to determine who is not teaching Biblical truths accurately.

John Mac was the preacher at my mother and sisters funeral when they were murdered when I was only eight WEEKS old. I asked John 18 years later if he had ever thought about doing a sermon on what a man is supposed to do whom feels lost because he grew up without his mother. J.M. told me, "I'e never thought about that." WOW! REALLY? That goes to show just how much respect he does NOT have for women, mothers wives, and even his own wife. - No wonder why someone in his church committed suicide in 1979.

The passing of time means nothing to God, he sees it differently, we are righteous only by our belief in the only one who's work and efforts mean anything. You right now, are no better off in God's eyes than the person in your example. Trust in his finished work now. What must you do to be saved? Believe -Acts 16:31 believe and you are saved. It is final, you are sealed to the day of redemption. Anything else you think you can add to it is nothing but shitty rags!

How beautiful it is to be set on His foundation, simply being a child whom is thankful to have a Father like no other and His name being Jesus. This is true. I came home from a 10 year nightmare with drugs and alcohol and by God’s grace got clean. I had this desire to keep growing in the Lord and unfortunately found the Calvinist teachers first. I had doubts that I was even saved during those 10 years but when I look back on it, I know I was. They teach you were never truly saved if you get into a lifestyle like that, picking and choosing what verses John Calvin tells them to use. I’m thankful the Lord has shown me the true gospel preachers and now I can usually pick out a fraud quickly by the language he uses.

They can be very subtle and sneaky. I myself have struggled with alcohol and know just how enslaving it can be. God brought me out of it. On my own there's no way I could have overcome it. I was on my way to wrecking my life. Even in the midst of sinning, we are still saved. We will reap the consequences of it but we won't ever lose His free gift of salvation. He said he could not imagine praying so much, so often you put dents in the floor. That is an underhanded swipe at John Wesley who spent so much time on his knees there are divots in the wood floor. Its also a swipe at Jesus's brother James, who prayed so much his knees looked like a camel. But Mac's hero John Calvin loved to use the torture chamber on anyone who disagreed with him. But Mac defends the evil John Calvin committed day after day, year after year until his death. He defends it by flippantly dismissing the documentation from the Geneva archives which are quite extensive and saved everything Calvin and his minions did and said.

No one can say if someone is saved unless they are asked directly what they trust for their salvation if they tell you that Jesus Christ already paid for all their sins and that is why they are saved then if they are a Christian, anything else does not apply

I really like McArthurs in depth expository teaching...but I was saved a long time ago and because of my disobedience and the painful chastisement and seeing the disastrous results of sin I'm extremely motivated to get on track with God...
I did get some tracts but crossed out any references of turning from sin as a prerequisite to salvation.
Thanks for this word...for years I was ineffective & neutralized because I was self condemned...but now because I'm absolutely assured of God's wonderful gift of salvation I'm on fire for the lord now!
