Pastor, if a soul is won out of the miry clay of Calvinism, that is a very rare and special miracle. Those folks are hands down some of the proudest people I've ever witnessed to.
You've never met a true Christian before, I imagine. Today's Calvinists call synergists Christians. Only the greatest fool would call someone who believes in FREE WILL a Christian, when the gospel is FREE GRACE. You are under a special curse.
I came out of Calvinism! A lot of people are coming out actually when they see the problems with it both logically and biblically. Leighton Flowers is a famous former Calvinist who has a large UA-cam channel devoted to helping others get free of Calvinism and learn the true gospel.
There is not a single argument in all of scripture to support free will. It's drawn out of man's darkened imagination and assumed because all natural men in sin desire to be free from God. @@salvadaXgracia
@@ethanjames1646 so you think God caused me to reject Calvinism? He causes everyone to sin down to every minute horrific detail? And there are plenty of verses to the contrary if you are willing to look and take them for what they say without assuming Calvinism in the background.
What an awesome message! Prayers that it will bear fruit for God. Calvinism is even worse. This is what I've heard them say, "God has created the reprobate for His glory. God desires to show all His attributes, so He has the reprobate so He can pour out His wrath upon them." So God created the reprobate because He had a need to pour out His wrath. Unbelievable! Thank you for helping others understand how Calvinism isn't the gospel.
@sharonlouise9759 Calvinists do not teach that God "created" the reprobate and much less that He created them so that He could pour out His wrath on them. Does God, because willing to show His wrath and to make his power known, endure with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath that are fitted for destruction? Absolutely!!! If you deny that, you are denying the clear teaching of Scripture.
@sharonlouise9759 I dare you to show me one way in which the gospel Calvinists preach differs from the apostolic gospel messages recorded in the Book of the Acts. I can show you many ways in which the message this clown preaches differs from the biblical gospel.
@@TheBereanVoice Maybe instead of "correcting" me you could have a ministry of listening closely to other Calvinists speaking and correct them. I have heard it more times than I can count. To say that "Calvinists do not teach that God "created" the reprobate and much less that He created them so that He could out His wrath on them" is to say that I have "written" something that is NOT TRUE. I am not bearing false witness. I am bearing witness to what I've heard.
This is absolutely ridiculous. I had to stop listening after historic greats like John Calvin and Augustine were called pagans. This man does not understand what either of those greats taught, and I doubt he has read their works, otherwise he would see how humble and God loving they actually were.
I assume you are Calvinists? Have you ever heard a good representation of Calvinism by one who argues against it? Or do they all just not understand it? But I bet u do right? Because you are special. Narcissistic special.
@@jameschappell-ih4cw Sure I’ve heard pretty accurate representations of Calvinism from some rejecting it. It’s definitely possible to represent a position correctly while also disagreeing with it.
Forget calvin --- he's only human. However I believe the word of God that says NONE seek after God. HE will NOT share HIS GLORY with another. HE will keep HIS plans for HIS GLORY. The Word clearly says we do NOT come and we cannot come. If you are SAVED God chose you and awakened you to HIS claims on your life Jesus paid my entire son debt and I'm SAVED forever to HIS GLORY
He brought them outside and said, “Men, what must I do to be saved?” They said to him, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved-you and all the people in your house.”
Why are so many here obsessed with calvin? He doesn't sound like he knew the Lord The Word of God stands SURE that God receives ALL the GLORY in EVERYTHING
True wisdom consists of two things: knowing God, and knowing self. This knowledge SHOULD produce a fear of God. Those who oppose the Gospel of Christ know neither God nor themselves...nor do they know the Bible. Add an "ism" to the Gospel and call it what you like, it is no less the Gospel. As C.H. Spurgeon put it, "Socalled 'Calvinism' is the Gospel, and nothing more." In Romans 9 we read, "Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?" In Jeremiah, "Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots?" When reading John 3, do you imagine for even a moment that you are able to give birth to yourself, either physically or spiritually? As the word says in Ephesians 2, faith is a gift, and God doesn't give this gift to most. Remember this when watching these UA-cam false teachers railing against God, His grace, and His chosen.
So that God chooses some, elects some, predestines some, to be saved, before the foundation of the world - this is unbiblical? (now watch, no one is going to answer this question).
@soulosxpiotov7280 In what other sense can you imagine that God has given believers grace before the world began? What do you think Paul meant when he wrote to Ephesian believers and told them that God chose them in Christ before the world began? Paul wrote that the elect [according to the election of Grace] from the elect nation of Israel had obtained a right standing before God through faith.
You are 100% correct about "Calvinism". However, a person must be "baptized" to be saved, but it has nothing to do with water. The proof is found below. Please consider the following without ridicule or condemnation. Old Covenant Baptism vs. New Covenant Baptism (water vs. Spirit) Water baptism was a part of the Old Covenant system of ritual washing. The Old Covenant priests had to wash before beginning their service in the temple. (Ex. 30:17-30) When Christ was water baptized by His cousin John in the Jordan River, He was under the Old Covenant system. He also only ate certain foods, and wore certain clothes, as prescribed by the 613 Old Covenant laws. Christ was water baptized by John and then the Holy Spirit came from heaven. (Acts 10:38) The order is reversed in the New Covenant. A person receives the Holy Spirit upon conversion, and then believers often declare their conversion to their friends and family through a water baptism ceremony. Which baptism makes you a member of Christ’s Church? The New Covenant conversion process is described below. (Born-again) Eph 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, (A person must “hear” the Gospel, and “believe” the Gospel, and will then be “sealed” with the Holy Spirit.) Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (See Jer. 31:34 for the New Covenant promise, and 1 John 2:27 for the fulfillment) ============ Which baptism is a part of the salvation process, based on what the Bible says? What did Peter say below? Acts 11:15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. Acts 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. Based on Luke 3:16, and John 1:33, and Acts 1:5, and Acts 11:15-16, the most important thing about the word "baptize" in the New Testament has nothing to do with water. The Holy Spirit is the master teacher promised to New Covenant believers in Jeremiah 31:34, and John 14:26, and is found fulfilled in Ephesians 1:13, and 1 John 2:27. Unfortunately, many modern Christians see water/ every time they read the word "baptize" in the text. Based on the above, what is the one baptism of our faith found in the passage below? How many times is the word "Spirit" found in the passage, and how many times is the word "water" found in the passage? Eph 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, Eph 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Eph 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, (See 1 Cor. 12:13) “baptize” KJV Mat_3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Mar_1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. Mar 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (Water or Holy Spirit?, See Eph. 1-13.) Luk_3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire: Joh_1:26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; Joh_1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. Act 1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. Act 11:15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. Act 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. 1Co_1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. 1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. (See Eph. 4:1-5) Heb 9:10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. (Old Covenant ----> New Covenant)
1 Corinthians 1: 17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
@@LawofLiberty Amen, and the verse below from the same letter proves the baptism of the Holy Spirit must be the "one" baptism of our faith in Eph. 4:1-5. 1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body-whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free-and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. If you ask many Baptists who is the greatest Baptist that every lived, they will say John the Baptist. John the Baptist would disagree with them in the verse below. Peter agrees with John the Baptist's statement below in Acts 11:15-16. Luk 3:16 John answered, saying to all, "I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Let's just look at what Scripture says. 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Who is giving thanks to God always? Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy (see 1:1) For whom are Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy thankful? The readers of this letter, brethren beloved by the Lord; the Christians at Thessalonica. Why are Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy thankful? Because God chose the brethren at Thessalonica. For what where they chosen? Salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. When did God choose them? From the beginning. How did God call them? By our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Again, for what were the Christians at Thessalonica chosen? For salvation. When were they chosen? From the beginning. Is there anything from the context that would show that this plain meaning is not saying this? No. What is the context? The Christians at Thessalonica should be assured that they are saved, that the Day of the Lord has not yet come; they haven't missed it. Also, the mystery of lawlessness is already at work, but the Christians at Thessalonica should stand fast in the traditions they were taught.
Acts 17:24,26-27,30-31 KJV God that made the world and all things therein, ... [26] ... *_hath made of one blood all nations of men_* for to dwell on all the face of the earth, *_and hath determined the times before appointed,_* and the bounds of their habitation; [27] *_That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:_* [30] And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but *_now commandeth all men every where to repent:_* [31] Because *_he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man_* whom he hath ordained; whereof *_he hath given assurance unto all men,_* in that he hath raised him from the dead.
The best service I have heard against Calvinism the wicked doctrine. Thanks so much for this service. Stay away from calvinist and their false teachings. Be blessed 🙏
Helpful information against the heresy of Calvinism. The TULIP chart was valuable. A. W. Pink was an Englishman who did some preaching in the early to mid 1900s in America with a couple years in Australia. He did preach against another heresy called Dispensationalism while simultaneously embracing Calvinism. Later in life, Pink seems to ease his hold of Calvinism and from his writings, opens the door to "whosoever will". His opportunities to preach were withdrawn and he relied on his "newsletter" for much of his support. He died virtually alone and isolated, on the edge of the earth in Stornoway, Scotland 1952. The best armament against the beast of heresy is to immerse oneself in the truth, the word of God found in the KJV.
Was Aw Pink's end a sign he was on the wide road ? Should he have been popular ? You would do well to get a copy of Calvin's institutes of the Christian religion. Also, read something from John Owen. Try listening to CH Spurgeon
Dispensation is isn’t wrong. There ARE different dispensations in the Bible. The whole word is for us, but not to us or about us. You must understand dispensation to understand how to rightly divide the word of truth to show yourself approved.
@@livingforjesus8551 your have a bible? read Romans chapter nine..... if you do not believe that you will not receive the Truth even if Jesus Christ appeared and told it to you
Yes. Very clear and concise explanation. Perfect. So, John Calvin simply and sincerely got it wrong. It was a huge mistake. Comparable in magnitude to the Roman Catholic misunderstanding of Matthew 16:18. John Calvin's god would be a pathologically insane person who creates thousands of millions of persons for no other reason than to send them to burn in hell forever, "for his glory". Said doctrine has caused and continues to cause untold damage within and without the body of Christ. Ever heard of deconstruction? Most deconstructionists come from Calvinistic churches. And you know what? They are entirely correct in rejecting Calvin's god, which, praise God forevermore, does not exist.
If God knew perfectly that billions would perish in unbelief if he proceeded with creation and created anyway, did he not determine that they would certainly perish by proceeding with creation. Perhaps you don't believe that God's omniscience is exhaustive and perfect.
In my youth in Bible Baptist (Independent fundamental) we were NOT allowed to have beards. It was a sign of rebellion, and pretty much up there with going to movies, dancing, cards, alcohol etc. Now beards are allowed? What changed?
@@LawofLiberty Exactly!!! My point being that we all have the ability to hold positions that are incorrect.....but we always think we are right! With that said....I am with you 100% that the Bible does not teach Calvinism. Calvanism is really easy to debunk when you create a strawman version of it and then debunk it. Come on man, this is just dishonest or lazy. Literally everything you said about Calvinism or claimed that a calvinist would say is totally false. I am fine with disagreeing with you over this doctrine, but at the very least don't slander or misrepresent those who disagree with you.
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile-the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” 14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” 16 But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?” 17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. 18 But I ask: Did they not hear? Of course they did: “Their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.” 19 Again I ask: Did Israel not understand? First, Moses says, “I will make you envious by those who are not a nation; I will make you angry by a nation that has no understanding.”
Calvinist are just like socialists, their number one defense is that they are never represented correctly. You’re not nearly as intelligent as you think you are, narcissist. We very clearly see for what it is.
This is a brutal explanation of Calvinism. When I was IFB, I fell into the trap of only listening to my pastor and his friends and never hearing the other side of the argument. I listened to James White explain the actual reformed position and noticed how Biblical what he was saying was. I don't identify as a Calvinist, but I know full well these are bad faith and disingenuous arguments. "Calvists believe God forces you to do evil and then sends you to hell for it!" No, Calvinists believe there are none righteous and that no one seeks God or understands him by his nature. As a result, we are naturally rebels against God with hardened hearts. If God doesn't give us grace, we behave as animals, so all he has to do is leave us to our own devices to do evil and be justly condemned to hell.
the problem with your statement, is that none of it is backed up by scripture. and also, you obviously do not understand calvinism., it always has to come down to complete determinism. your comment that we are naturally rebel against God is in itself ridiculous. how can we dare rebel against God, in your system, HE is Sovereign over everything, including every single decision you will ever make. the whole system is an argument of futility and completely absurd contradictions. Man completely redefining what sovereignty even means. no where is sovereignty defined as absolute determinism, definitely NOT in the Bible, only by calvinists. If it was true, why does the Bible go to great lengths to tell us when God does decree something, the bible would be alot shorter than it actually is, and one sentence would sum it all up: God decreed everything, no need for any other statements.
@@shepherd7744 As I said, I don't identify as a Calvinist or Baptist or Lutheran - simply just a Bible-believing Christian. But what was said in the video is a complete mockery of reformed theology. Within reformed theology, there are many different thoughts on determinism, every Calvinist I've met in real life is a compatibilist, meaning man has free will to do physical or emotional acts, but man is unable to have spiritual free will until God regenerates him. This idea comes from Romans 8, where Paul talks about men being spiritually dead without Christ (by their nature) and how no one of the flesh can do what's pleasing to God. This means that without God working in our hearts, turning us away from being of the flesh, we can't do spiritually pleasing things. Does that take away "free will?" No, because we can still freely make physical choices or have our own independent thoughts and feelings, but clearly, there is some type of bondage we find ourselves in prior to knowing Christ. Otherwise, why wouldn't Paul say, "everyone can do what's pleasing to God, even those of the flesh!" These unbelievers are literally unable to please God (no ability = no freedom to perform).
There are many righteous people mention in the bible I suggest you removed your "calvinistic lens" so that when you read and study your bible it will be clear to you and you will find out the truth.
@@SolaScriptura77 I suggest you remove yours... in our natural, sinful Adamic state there is none righteous. In the Bible, you do not become righteous, you are declared righteous. Romans 3: 9 What then? Are we Jews any better off? No, not at all. For we have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks, are under sin, 10 as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; 11 no one understands; no one seeks for God. 12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.” 19 Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God. 20 For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin. 21 But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it- 22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. If there is one righteous, he needs no saviour, and he does not need Jesus and Jesus did no come for him. Luke 5:32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
Any Calvinist who preaches the gospel must lie to the listeners. He gives them hope of salvation and eternal life when in fact the majority of them are condemned to hell no matter what the preacher offers them. If the preacher were honest he would find that no one would listen to the gospel according to Calvin as there is no way to be saved unless you are chosen. You have NO decision to make at all and God will get glory for your suffering eternally. These are the lost that Christ died for??
Election or non-election has nothing to do with a biblical presentation of the gospel. Neither does the design and intention of the redemptive work of Christ. The good news is that every sinner without exception who believes God's promise to pardon and justify sinners will be saved. The only sinners who will be lost are those who freely and willingly reject the clear terms of the gospel. It is not the suffering of sinners for eternity that brings God glory but the demonstration of his holiness and righteousness in judging them for their sinful rebellion. Do you deny that God will demonstrate his justice in casting sinful rebels into the lake of fire because the have freely and willingly rejected His gracious offers of mercy and pardon?
Satan must know that if you can get people to believe the great big lie that Calvinism teaches. Then there is very little resistance to getting them to believe smaller lies like the Rapture. Tim Lehay's rapture books and movies are the latest. I ask and listen to the Holy Spirit within me as a Christian to never let me be tricked by lies. I trust the influence in my hearts conscience when I hear a lie. Nothing has ever been louder and almost violent than when I first heard Calvinism explained to me. To me every day is 'Calvin Wacking Day" and I wack hard, but with love at the same time. I would have witnessed to Adolf Hitler with more love than I do to a Calvinist! Calvinists attack the very character of our loving God and ascribe to God the character of Satan himself! Adolf in their minds was just following their perverted view that God made him do what he did! The leading Calvinist teacher in the World right now John Piper with a net worth of $14 million, has described God as: God . . . brings about all things in accordance with his will. In other words, it isn’t just that God manages to turn the evil aspects of our world to good for those who love him; it is rather that he himself brings about these evil aspects for his glory (see Ex. 9:13-16; John 9:3) and his people’s good (see Heb. 12:3-11; James 1:2-4). This includes-as incredible and as unacceptable as it may currently seem-God’s having even brought about the Nazis’ brutality at Birkenau and Auschwitz as well as the terrible killings of Dennis Rader and even the sexual abuse of a young child . . . What absolute Heresy, yet millions follow this evil man as some sort of apostle! Truth in love
Whether Calvinists are correct or not, the holocaust happened. The question at that point is: 1. Did God allow it to happen for a purpose 2. Did God not want it to happen, but he can't stop human's free will, so it happened without purpose
@@JohnnyCrack Free will is not free will, unless you can do evil or do good. God allows free will and we will be judged by what we do here. This is not a sub heaven that needs to be fixed. Calvinism is a Doctrine of Demons because it blames God for creating and forcing all sin to be committed! It is a sick and twisted system that appeals to the intellectual puffed up. Truth in Love
The irony is that this guy clearly believes hook line and sinker the full doctrine of dispensationalism. I just skimmed through other videos on this channel out of curiosity. I absolutely disagree with Calvanism but they still helped me escape the false beliefs in dispensationalism that I grew up in. I fall closest to Independent Baptist now but even then I doubt I agree with anything one single church says. That being said, the "Rapture" is Biblical. Its just completely and totally mischaracterized by dispensationalists. The "Rapture" is actually Jesus greeting his people as he returns to Earth on the last day, right after the resurrection of the dead. Those who live to see his return aren't being taken off the Earth at all (well, maybe they are lifted up for a few moments to greet him as he's coming down but even then it doesn't necessarily have to be completely literal).
@@JohnnyCrack People saying things like you have no idea what the Reformation did. It was in about 1800 that the first departed from the Reformed Theology. Protestant but no longer Biblical believers. If the anti-Calvinist were right there would have been no Gospel for the last 1400 years and even not before that. Origin of men’s free will goes back to Pelagius about 400AD. And the heresy of the pope around 700 AD About 20 to 30 million people died by the hand of the Spanish Inquisition for not giving up their faith. The Queen of England at the time was Called Bloody Mary for her cruelty against the Calvinist, I rather say reformed because we don't follow a man. William Tyndale was burned at the stake for translating the Bible and being a Calvinist on 6 October 1536. Do you claim his faith he died for was a heresy???? It was from the Lord. Never lost is never saved, Christ Jesus did not come for choosers. Arminius was a Pelagian heretic. He twisted all of the Letter to the Romans. I have and read all Arminius works. For one he claims that God's plan of salvation came after the Fall in Paradise, otherwise God would be the Author of sin. Arminius had studied theology under Theodore Beza, Calvin's successor. Beza was one of the stronger proponents of the Reformed doctrine of predestination. But Arminius's theology represented a retreat from this position. In some ways, ARMINIUS'S THEOLOGY WAS ACTUALLY A RETURN TO THE POSITION TAKEN BY ROMAN CATHOLICISM AT THE COUNCIL OF TRENT. NATURALLY, ARMINIANISM STIRRED HEATED CONTROVERSY toward THE REFORMED CHURCHES. The reformation was a Miracle of the Lord equal to David Killing Goliath with a Stone. 95 teases written in Latin killed the Giant of the Pope’s false doctrine. The American Great Awakening was a reformed puritans movement and the doing of the Lord. Millions came to accept Christ our Lord as there Savior. Claiming that that was the work of a deceiver is crossing a dangerous line. [I rather say Reformed, we do not follow a man. Calvin was just a small part of the reformation. Edwards's earliest writings brought together John Locke and Isaac Newton in a defence of a religious metaphysics. Later, after a career as a practicing clergyman who led the ‘Great Awakening’, Edwards developed a Calvinist theology founded on the covenant of grace whose centre was the experience of an omnipotent God. His views were most significantly spelt out in Religious Affections (1746) and Freedom of the Will (1754). JONATHAN EDWARDS ON THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD (CALVINISM) "The Sovereignty of God is the stumbling block on which thousands fall and perish; and if we go contending with God about His sovereignty it will be our eternal ruin. It is absolutely necessary that we should submit to God as an absolute sovereign, and the sovereign of our souls; as one who may have mercy on whom He will have mercy and harden whom He will" (Jonathan Edwards). The quote above, by Jonathan Edwards, is excerpted from Arminianism: Another Gospel - Jonathan Edwards Most historians consider Jonathan Edwards, a Northampton Anglican minister, one of the chief fathers of the Great Awakening. Edwards’ message centred around the ideas that humans were sinners, God was an angry judge and individuals needed to ask for forgiveness. He also preached justification by faith alone. In 1741, Edwards gave an emotional sermon, entitled “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God.” No-one in the church had dry eyes. It was not the gifted preacher because Edwards read most of the sermon. It was a strong conviction of the Holy Spirit. News of the message spread quickly throughout the colonies. Edwards was known for his passion. He generally preached in his home parish, unlike other revival preachers who traveled throughout the colonies. Edwards is credited for inspiring hundreds of conversions, which he documented in a book, Narratives of Surprising Conversions. George Whitefield George Whitefield, a minister from Britain, had a significant impact during the Great Awakening. Whitefield toured the colonies up and down the Atlantic coast, preaching his message. In one year, Whitefield covered 5,000 miles in America and preached more than 350 times. Martin Luther said this Gospel of “grace alone” will be for a moment but soon attacked by the Devil. We see so much hate against the sovereignty of God. Daniel 4: 34 At the end of the days I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and praised and honored him who lives forever, for his dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom endures from generation to generation; 35 all the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, and he does according to his will among the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand or say to him, “What have you done?” THIS IS HOW CALVIN PREACHED THE GOSPEL FREE OFFER OF THE GOSPEL (Calvin's Wisdom p119-120) He calls all men to himself, without a single exception, and gives Christ to all, that we may be illumined by him. When we pray, we ought, according to the rule of charity, to include all. God invites all indiscriminately to salvation through the Gospel, BUT THE INGRATITUDE OF THE WORLD IS THE REASON why this grace, which is equally offered to all, is enjoyed by few. Other than the result of men’s refusal. Calvin never preached Double predestination as you can see and put the responsibility by men. Listen I say Preached. It is a Biblical Doctrine that God Choose or elected His Own and not the whole human race. What about 70 Million Buddhists in Thailand. 93% in Thailand are Buddhists and 5.5% Islam. Why??? If God wants all men to be saved, did God fail to bring the gospel there so they could chose to be Christian or Buddhist? One born into Buddhism has no choice but Buddhism, Only the conviction by The Holy Spirit can change hearts. There is a Reformation now in Brazil that always has been Catholic 220 Million population. Millions now are coming to faith in Christ and turn to the Reformation. What is ending here is beginning there. I made a website with 1000th of articles and sermons of Martin Luther in Dutch, English and German. From Brazil they have asked me to translate it in Portuguese and someone offered to help me doing it.
In Ephesians 1:11, we see that God “works all things according to the counsel of His will.” This “all things,” according to verse 10 includes all things in the heavens and all things on the earth. The word translated into English as “work” is the transitive verb “ἐνεργέω” (energeo), which means “to effect;” since all “effects” must have a sufficient cause, this passage quite literally makes God the ultimate cause of all things in heaven and on earth. The same transitive verb construction is seen in Ephesians 1:19, 1 Corinthians 12:6, 11, Galatians 3:5, Philippians 2:13; see Thayer’s, pg. 215. Any objections are answered in the word of God right there.
Most Calvinists are Bible-believing, scripture-reading, born-again saved, orthodox teaching, and Jesus-saved Christians. Funny, I don't hear or see videos on UA-cam of Calvanists telling others that you are evil. I don't hear any Christian love or charity in your words. Why aren't you preaching the gospel, instead of spending this time demeaning Christian people you don't understand? I am willing to bet you have never read a single book by John Calvin, yet you know all about him, from watching UA-cam videos.
maybe some Calvinists fear man and don't want to deal with any back and forth talking. it is what they believe or get out the way. and not every video needs to be the gospel on its own. Calvinism is a real problem that needs to be addressed , just like Catholicism , Mormonism . very poor assumption on you're part about what he has read and not read. and really it doesn't matter if we know what he has and has not read. he is using the Word of God against the doctrines of man.
With all due respect, simply reading the Bible debunks calvinism. Just the fact that someone would label their faith after the name of any man other than Jesus is heretical. Not only calvinists, but any denomination. Colossians chapter 2. Teaches us that we are to be rooted and grounded in Christ. And that we are COMPLETE in Him, and nothing else! Followers of false teachers praise the teacher. People who listen to True Ministers praise the Lord!
I have researched calvinism and have found it to be heretical. My aim is to warn anyone who does not know the doctrines of calvinism to research calvinism before putting trust into the these calvinist false teachers. If anyone knows the doctrines of calvinism and agree with it, I respect their God-given right to believe whatever they wish. Many people follow these wolves without knowing that they are calvinists. Calvinist teachers do not advertise their core beliefs, they insert their heresy in small doses while pretending to be pious and knowledgeable men of God who cares about the souls of men. They are the epitome of hypocrisy. Anyone who teaches that Jesus DID NOT die for the sins of ALL humanity is a false teacher from the start. Not to mention the other fallacies that are attached to this doctrine from hell. Anyone who believes in calvinism is believing a false gospel and is headed for eternal damnation. Let those with an ear hear! The Bible teaches us to study the Bible itself, not some book that Calvin or any other person writes.
If Calvinism is true, it means that God creates disposable people, people without any hope,” “It means that God not only allows, but micro-manages and sovereignly ordains, every war and every abortion and every rape of a child. It means that Calvin’s god does not love the world; he hates it because it is full of “totally depraved” individuals having apparently created us that way for his own glorification, or is it for his amusement? If Calvinism is true , it means that if that dying child that you held in your arms was not among the elect, then God did not love her. He never had any intention of loving her. She was nothing to Him. In fact, he would delight and find glory in her eternal torture in hell.” Who are really created in the image of then, God or satan? “And whenever I raise these points with Calvinists, all they can say is that I should be more grateful for my own salvation! It’s like, ‘as long as my eternal destiny is secure, as long as my life is all planned out and taken care of by God, who gives a damn about family, friends or anyone else!’ How can you be okay with that? How can anyone be okay with that? Why do I feel find this heresy morally offensive?” Only the devil should be at ease with such an abomination! According to Calvinism the lost hate God because God first hated them. They won't say it that way, but that's what it boils down to. Is this how YOU see God??? Romans 16 : 17 I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. 18 For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people. Truth in love

1 ¶ I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, 2 That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. 3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh: 4 Who are Israelites; to whom [pertaineth] the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service [of God], and the promises; 5 Whose [are] the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ [came], who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen. 6 ¶ Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they [are] not all Israel, which are of Israel: 7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, [are they] all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. 8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these [are] not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. 9 For this [is] the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son. 10 And not only [this]; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, [even] by our father Isaac; 11 (For [the children] being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) 12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. 13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. 14 ¶ What shall we say then? [Is there] unrighteousness with God? God forbid. 15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16 So then [it is] not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. 17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. 18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will [have mercy], and whom he will he hardeneth. 19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? 20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed [it], Why hast thou made me thus? 21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? 22 [What] if God, willing to shew [his] wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: 23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, 24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles? 25 ¶ As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. 26 And it shall come to pass, [that] in the place where it was said unto them, Ye [are] not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God. 27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved: 28 For he will finish the work, and cut [it] short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth. 29 And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha. 30 ¶ What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. 31 But Israel, which followed after
Calvinists don't follow Calvin. I love Calvinism [which I prefer to call soteriological monergism] because it is clearly taught in the text of Scripture.
Do your homework people. This guy completely misrepresents Calvin, builds a straw man and then “debunks” it. He inaccurately paraphrases doctrines. He preaches like an ambulance chaser looking for clicks. His analysis is completely off.
As a Calvinist myself, almost everything you said was a misrepresentation of what the doctrines of grace even teach. You took lots of one liner quotes from Calvin and ripped them out of their context, and away from the scriptures that he used to show those truths. What are the chances you would be available for a live debate? I'd do it with you if you're up for it.
@@TheBereanVoiceNo, anybody who gives a sound reproof of Calvinism always gets the flag that "you misrepresent Calvinism"... There is no grace in Calvinism. It's actually a man centered theology Besides, who cares about your debate ? Can you tell me what the gospel is? This way I can know whether you are of the truth or not ?
Calvinists always say this then either affirm what people say about them and just use different language, OR you’re not really Calvinists and try to explain how all your non Calvinist views really are Calvinist almost like you’re trying to prove it to yourself.
Based on what I heard, questions arise, do you believe God knows all things? Do you believe God learns new things based on the responses of His creation?
This is a bad argument from the beginning. God foreknows, that doesn't mean He predestines. He doesn't force, in His ultimate wisdom and sovereignty(a word most calvinists don't seem to understand) He gave us free will. So while He KNOWS who will be saved, He does not force the decision (probably with a few limited exceptions, including through judicial hardening). The two ideas, God's knowledge and God forcing the decision, are utterly disconnected, one does not follow the other.
@SeanWinters predestination is biblical. The believer is predestined to adoption which Paul defines as the redemption of the body. Calvinism says predestination is unbeliever to a believer. Its not biblical.
@@coryalbright9798 Incorrect. Predestination only applies to the plan, obviously God planned for the crucifixion, and that we could only be saved through Jesus. There is no scriptural basis for the forceful conversion of all believers. This is manichean heresy, based on the pelagian view that accepting Christ, having faith, is a work. Even though Paul says in Romans 3 that no, faith is not a work. Therefore yes, God has given us the choice to choose Him as our savior, and that choice isn't an action, thus it's still monergistic. Go on, explain why you disagree with Paul and instead agree with Pelagian.
@SeanWinters I don't agree with pelagianism or calvinism. The scripture tells us we are predestined to the adoption. The adoption is said to be the redemption of the body, which is a future event. Once you receive Christ, you are predestined for the adoption. This is what the Bible says. Calvinisms Predestination of unbelievers to faith is wrong.
@@coryalbright9798 Predestination sure is in the Bible! It goes like this. Predestination example 1: Its kind of like this. A man’s wife is finally pregnant and the couple are over joyed. I hope it is a boy the man said and I hope he will be interested in becoming an electrician like me. I also hope he goes into the trade and if he does, I plan for him to take over the family business some day! But I know that these plans that I have made for him, before one of his days of life begin will be entirely up to my son. I cannot force him, I cannot put a gun to his head, I can only encourage and guide him and hope. In other word’s the man has predestined a plan for his son, He has chosen a plan for his son. He has elected to give all this to his son if he so desires it! Outcome 1 The baby is born and it is a boy. He is interested in his fathers work and goes to electrical trade school, but drops out and becomes a lawyer instead. Outcome 2 He drops out of school becomes a bum, a drunk or a murderer etc. Outcome 3 The son follows his fathers predestinated plan, through trade school and takes over his father’s business. The fathers predestined plans for his son will happen, or will not happen, according to the choices the son makes. Its the same with mankind. There is a master plan given to every human being to know God, reach salvation and eternity in Heaven. But to follow or reject the plan is the choice given to every individual. This is the "Good News Gospel" that the Angels proclaimed when the Messiah was born. Satan has attacked that message from the beginning, twisting it into what is now known as Calvinism or the doctrine of election. Predestination example 2: Grandma saves and saves to buy her granddaughter a plane ticket to France. She has been saving for many years and the day finally arrived and she gave her granddaughter her special gift. The granddaughter goes to the airport and asks the attendant which plane to get on. The attendant says, what is your destination on your ticket? He reads the ticket which says “Destination France.” He also said that flight 446 is a modern jet that was especially built and destined by the airline to fly exclusively to France for its entire service life. So, this aircraft has been predestined to fly to a predestined location, France. The girl gets on the plane and is now destined to travel to France on the predestined plane, that has been predestined by its designers, to reach its predestined, destination! This girl will arrive at her predestined trip that her grandmother predestined years before, as long as she goes to the airport, gets on the right plane and stays on the plane! All this took place by the choices the granddaughter made. Predestination example 3: "The man on an island." Imagine a man has been taken to a desolate island with everything he needs to survive and given only a Bible to occupy his time. This man has no preconceived idea about religion so everything he will learn over the next 10 years he will get directly from the Bible and Gods leading. The man accepts God’s plan of salvation and what he has learned from the Bible. He repents and is born again. The Holy Spirit is now counselling the man from the inside. He studies intensely for the 10 years growing in his faith and walking closer and closer with God daily. After 10 years he comes back to the mainland world and decides he needs to fellowship with other Christians as the Bible says he should. The man approaches a number of different churches and looks through the windows from the outside and says to himself “What are they doing in there what are they saying about God? How do you think this man will compare what he knows to be true, from what he sees going on in the mainline churches today? Do you think he will find what the mainline denominations are teaching will be in harmony to what this true follower of Jesus Christ has learned? You know it won’t be! TRUTH IN LOVE
It mentions God's Will over and over in the Bible. Please refer to where it discusses Man's Free Will? We all have choices but for those God knows (Elect) are coming from womb to tomb He draws us to Him, the rest won't ever come, however, we don't know who they are so we spread His word to all. This guy's full of Calvinist Derangement Syndrome. The Gospel is God centered (His Sovereignty and Authority) not Man centered (our Sovereignty or Authority). Most can't handle that they have little to do with Salvation and God has everything to do with it. Run don't walk out the doors of this church.
John Calvin based a lot of his teachings on Augustine, who was a manichean Gnostic before he got saved. He brought some of that philosophy into the church. Same with the doctrine of eternal conscious torment, which is based on pagan philosophy. Annihilation of the soul is the true teaching of the lost in scripture.
@@truthtransistorradio6716 Everything is predetermined, but the Gnostic doctrine is nothing at all like the biblical doctrine. Yahweh stated in Isaiah 46 that there is no God like him who declares the end from the beginning and from ancient times the things that are not yet done saying "My counsel shall stand and I will do all my pleasure.. . .I have spoken it; I will also bring it to pass. I have purposed it, I will also do it. God is the one who effectively accomplish ALL according to the counsel of His will. Try again.
@@truthtransistorradio6716 I have an idea, Why don't you tell us what the Manicheans believed about predestination and show us how their doctrine in any way resembles the biblical doctrine that Augustine taught?
@GRACE4LYFE One must distinguish between slavish fear and awesome respect and reverence. Believers are not to fear God's wrath but we are to have an awesome reverence for Him.
John 3:16 disproves calvanism. Now it is true God can use anyone for his purpose. Let us focus on what is important, Jesus is our everything! Regardless of what we believe, Jesus must be the rock we stand on. Jesus saved us from separation from God. Lets trust in him and what he commands us to do.
Brother John 3:16 doesn't disprove Calvinism at all- the verse doesn't say who will believe and be saved, it just says "whoever" will be saved (if they believe).
@@ifeawosika966 I agree with you brother that it doesn't say "elect", but it also doesn't say that everyone can believe, will believe, wants to believe, tries to believe, etc.... It just says that whosoever believes, which is anyone who believes! (as you said :) )
@kevinjodrey7664 They're in hell because Jesus didn't pay the price for their sins yet. That's why the bible states he preached to spirits in prison. Now all who go to hell willingly choose to go there by rejecting salvation found only in Jesus.
The L in T.U.L.P. Stands for “Limited Atonement” it is a Mistranslation from Dutch to English. Dutch is the original linguist in which the 5 articles of the Contra Remonstrant were written. It was a response on the 5 articles of the remonstrant written in 1610 by the Arminian Uittenbogaard . He wrote the 5 articles that the synod of Dordrecht 1618 - 1619 opposed to. There were 62 Dutch delegates, and 27 foreign delegates representing eight countries. The word which Uittenbogaard used means: “Particular Atonement” and Christ Died particularly for every person of the whole world. The Synod upheld the Sufficiency of the dead Of Christ for the whole World and if it was for 1000 worlds, but opposed the idea of Particular. At the time that this controversy on the Synod of Dodrecht Calvin had already Died in 1564, and had nothing to do with it. The true meaning of limited attonement is stated in these articles that were written and put together by the delegates of the Synod to explain the Atonement Of Christ. 2-3. This death of the Son of God is the only and perfect sacrifice and satisfaction for sins; of infinite power and dignity, abundantly sufficient to atone for the sins of the whole world. 2-4. And this death is therefore of such great power and dignity, because the person who suffered it is not only a truly and utterly holy man, but also the only begotten Son of God, of one eternal and infinite being with the Father and the Holy Ones. Spirit, such as our Savior must be. Moreover, because his death has been attended with the sense of the wrath of God and of the curse which we have deserved by our sins. 2-5. Furthermore, the promise of the gospel is, that whosoever believeth on Christ crucified shall not perish, but have eternal life; which promise to all nations and men, to whom God, according to his good pleasure, sends his gospel, must be proclaimed and presented indiscriminately, with a commandment of repentance and faith. 2-6. But that many, being called by the gospel, repent not, neither believe in Christ, but perish in unbelief, this is not for want or insufficiency of the sacrifice of Christ offered on the cross, but through their own unbelief. COMMENTARIES OF JOHN CALVIN ON THE BIBLE. “He makes this favor common to all, because it is propounded to all, and not because it is in reality extended to all; for though Christ suffered for the sins of the whole world, and is offered through God’s benignity indiscriminately to all, yet all do not receive him.” [Calvin’s Commentary on Romans 5:18] Nevertheless, forasmuch as it is not in us to discern between the righteous and the sinners that go to destruction, but that Jesus Christ has suffered His death and passion as well for them as for us, therefore it behoves us to labour to bring every man to salvation, that the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ may be available to them ...” [Sermon CXVI on the Book of Job (31:29-32)] “The word many is not put definitely for a fixed number, but for a large number; for he contrasts himself with all others. And in this sense it is used in Romans 5:15, where Paul does not speak of any part of men, but embraces the whole human race.” [Calvin’s Commentary on Matthew 20:28] “For he intended expressly to state [in John 3:16] that, though we appear to have been born to death, undoubted deliverance is offered to us by the faith of Christ; and, therefore, that we ought not to fear death, which otherwise hangs over us. And he has employed the universal term whosoever, both to invite all indiscriminately to partake of life, and to cut off every excuse from unbelievers. Such is also the import of the term World, which he formerly used; for though nothing will be found in the world that is worthy of the favour of God, YET HE SHOWS HIMSELF TO BE RECONCILED TO THE WHOLE WORLD, when he invites all men without exception to faith in Christ, which is nothing else than an entrance into life.” (Calvin’s Commentary on the Gospel of John)
This guy has no idea about the Reformation and speaks without grace or truth. It is possible to criticise John Calvin with grace and see the challenge of the mystery of how God is sovereign and grants repentance and gifts faith yet we are accountable for our choices.
God is not the author of evil but He knows how to use it. He didn't make us robots but sin has caused humans dead in transgressions to be its slaves- or robots. Is grace "force"? What do you do with Luke 10:22?
Luke 10 : 21, 22. 21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast HID these things from the WISE and PRUDENT, and HAST REVEALED THEM UNTO BABES: even so, Father; for so it seemed GOOD in thy sight. 22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him. The answer to your question is found in the verse #, before the one you mentioned, it clearly demonstrates that to the wise and prudent the mysteries of God have been hid, it has been hid to those "wise" people that teach calvinism, predestination and original sin, you must be a "wise and learned" man to know of these "rudiments and doctrines interpretations by learned men of god", these men, being "prudent" by NOT antagonizing "the safe & popular interpretations of the so called doctrines of god", but, what does the Bible say in the same verse? That these mysteries have been revealed to the BABES, revealed to infants, babies, newly saved people, those, that like babes or small children BELIEVE in the SIMPLICITY OF THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST FOR THE SALVATION OF THEIR ETERNAL SOULS, WITHOUT COMPLICATED DOCTRINE COMING FROM "learned wise men, doctors of the faith, even, the "church fathers" (roman catholic augustine, athenesious of the athenesian creed among other roman catholic canonized saints), calvinism IS one of those wicked complicated doctrines. Be a BABE, when it comes to salvation, "I am saved because The Holy Bible told me so, by Faith ALONE in JESUS, HE who died in the cross for ME period, NOTHING ELSE WILL DO, I AM SAVED BECAUSE I BELIEVE IN JESUS FOR MY SALVATION, THE NAME OF JESUS GIVEN TO MEN, NOT GIVEN TO ANGELS NOR DEMONS TO BELIEVE IN , ONLY GIVEN TO MEN FOR THE SALVATION OF THEIR SOULS ". @generalmoonstone, The question is whether a person only wants to be saved from hell or also from the bondage of sin. If you are believing only to escape hell but desire to continue in your sinful life-style, you have probably never been saved. For ALL have SINNED, and come short of the glory of God... Jesus said, "But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am NOT come to call the righteous, but SINNERS to repentance." Since ALL have sinned, and since Jesus came to call sinners to repentance, then it's biblically obvious that Jesus came to call all! Mic drop. (Calvinism is of the devil.)
Great point here brother. Jesus was also pointing out that for anybody to be saved they have to acknowledge that they're a sinner and in need of a savior (Jesus). Thank you Jesus
Calvinists do not deny that Jesus came to call all sinners to repentance. It would be helpful if you people would study a bit before making such ridiculous accusations.
@@TheBereanVoice ... you're a liar! Calvinists don't believe that Christ came to call 'all sinners', they don't Believe John 3:16..."whosoever"! UNCONDITIONAL ELECTION (A wicked, unbiblical, false Calvinists doctrine): Also known as “sovereign election,” this is the teaching that God’s rescuing of sinners is entirely due to His own will and good pleasure (Ephesians 1:5). Salvation is not brought about in any way by our actions or decisions. Remember, Scripture teaches that we are spiritually dead. Because of this we cannot and will not turn towards God on our own. Instead, it is God who elects believers to salvation (Romans 8:28-30). He does this based solely on His grace and not our works (2 Timothy 1:9). Believers were chosen by God “before the foundation of the world” (Ephesians 1:3-6). This further emphasizes our inability to earn salvation by our works, since election predates our very existence.

"And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, EVEN SO must the Son of man be lifted up: and that WHOSOEVER believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life." Calvinists DO NOT believe Jesus Christ himself! Calvinists are of the devil, and unless they repent of their false doctrine, when they die they will suffer the vengeance of eternal fire in hell! "TheBereanVoice", et. al., fall into this category: Jude 1:4-5...For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, UNGODLY MEN, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward DESTROYED THEM THAT BELIEVED NOT.
Calvinisim removes man’s requirement to trust solely in Christ for salvation. If anyone has to question if themselves, friends or family are “elect” then their hope for salvation is not in Christ alone, it’s in “election”. T - removes our requirement to believe in Jesus (says we can’t) U - removes our requirement to believe in Jesus (says we’re already saved) L - removes our requirement to believe in Jesus (says Jesus atonement wasn’t for all sin just the elect, back to point U) I - removes our requirement to believe in Jesus (says we can’t believe God will make us believe) P - removes our requirement to believe in Jesus. (Says God will make us perserve) Amy doctrine that takes the focus off Christ alone for salvation is false by definition.
@andrewtsousis3130 That is resplendent display of prodigious ignorance. None of what you wrote is an accurate representation of what Calvinists believe. Feel free to disagree with what we believe but at least attempt to represent accurately what we believe.
@andrewtsousis3130 You--Calvinisim removes man’s requirement to trust solely in Christ for salvation. No Calvinist denies that we must trust solely in Christ for Salvation. You--If anyone has to question if themselves, friends or family are “elect” then their hope for salvation is not in Christ alone, it’s in “election”. Calvinists do not question whether we are among the elect or not. Election and who is elected is God's business , not ours. Our concern is to be assured that we are truly united to Christ. You--T - removes our requirement to believe in Jesus (says we can’t). The unwillingness of sinners to repent and believe does not remove their responsibility to obey God's commandments, of which the gospel is one. You--U - removes our requirement to believe in Jesus (says we’re already saved). Calvinists do not believe election saves anyone. A person is not saved until they are united to Christ by faith. You--L - removes our requirement to believe in Jesus (says Jesus atonement wasn’t for all sin just the elect, back to point U. Jesus' redemptive work that secured salvation for his elect people does not obviate the necessity of trusting Jesus alone for salvation. You-- I - removes our requirement to believe in Jesus (says we can’t believe God will make us believe) God doesn't Make anyone believe. He enables people to believe by removing our disposition to resist him. Our moral and spiritual inability does not remove our responsibility. You--P - removes our requirement to believe in Jesus. (Says God will make us perserve). God enables believers to persevere in FAITH IN Christ. WE are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. It is our responsibility to persevere in faith. That God enables us to do so does not ameliorate our responsibility. You-Amy doctrine that takes the focus off Christ alone for salvation is false by definition. I dare you to watch my 40 UA-cam videos on Romans and my videos on Hebrews and show me one instance in which I have remotely suggested that sinners have no responsibility to trust Christ alone for salvation.
@@TheBereanVoice re “God doesn’t make people believe” - ok so those “he removes the disposition to resist him” still have a choice to turn to Christ or reject him?
I'm not a calvinist but the doctrine of election is bible doctrine, Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Men willfully remain in unbelief unless God draws them to himself and gives them a willing mind: Ps 110:3 Thy people [shall be] willinGg in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth. God made it clear, there was from the beginning the seed of Satan and the seed of Christ: Cain from the beginning was of the seed of Satan: 1Jo 3:12 Not as Cain, [who] was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous. God created Pharaoh for the expressed purpose of using him to show his might and power: Rom9: 17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth." It is God's right to do so: 21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?" 18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will [have mercy], and whom he will he hardeneth." God's hate is not like man's hate do not confuse the two, God's hate is not tainted by sin, he hates all inequity, as to people his hate is based on their sinfulness: "Jacob have I love and Esau have I hated" 11 (For [the children] being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) Paul has an answer for those who complain that this is not fair: 20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed [it], Why hast thou made me thus?" The question is not why God only saves some it's why does he save anyone since all are dissevering of hell. The doctrines of man's free will are from Satan himself, only God has free will when man says he does he makes himself to be God: Gen3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. So if you have free will here's the test, stop sinning. Man's will is in bondage to sin. It's not free.
Hitler followed Luther's teaching to the letter. Luther inspired Hitler on how to handle Jews. “Burn their synagogues. Forbid them all that I have mentioned above. Force them to work and treat them with every kind of severity, as Moses did in the desert and slew three thousand… If that is no use, we must drive them away like mad dogs, in order that we may not be partakers of their abominable blasphemy and of all their vices, and in order that we may not deserve the anger of God and be damned with them. I have done my duty. Let everyone see how he does his. I am excused.” (About the Jews and Their Lies,’ quoted by O’Hare, in ‘The Facts About Luther, TAN Books, 1987, p. 290.) “ If I had to baptize a Jew, I would take him to the bridge of the Elbe, hang a stone round his neck and push him over with the words I baptize thee in the name of Abraham” (Grisar, “Luther”, Vol. V. pg. 413.) “The Jews deserve to be hanged on gallows seven times higher than ordinary thieves.”(Weimar, Vol. 53, Pg. 502.) Luther was a Calvinist before Calvin. Luther teaches: “…with regard to God, and in all that bears on salvation or damnation, (man) has no ‘free-will’, but is a captive, prisoner and bond slave, either to the will of God, or to the will of Satan.” (From the essay, ‘Bondage of the Will,’ ‘Martin Luther: Selections From His Writings, ed. by Dillenberger, Anchor Books, 1962 p. 190.) “…we do everything of necessity and nothing by ‘free-will’; for the power of ‘free-will’ is nil…” (Ibid., p. 188.) “Man is like a horse. Does God leap into the saddle? The horse is obedient and accommodates itself to every movement of the rider and goes whither he wills it. Does God throw down the reins? Then Satan leaps upon the back of the animal, which bends, goes and submits to the spurs and caprices of its new rider… Therefore, necessity, not free will, is the controlling principle of our conduct. God is the author of what is evil as well as of what is good, and, as He bestows happiness on those who merit it not, so also does He damn others who deserve not their fate.” (‘De Servo Arbitrio’, 7, 113 seq., quoted by O’Hare, in ‘The Facts About Luther, TAN Books, 1987, pp. 266-267.) “His (Judas) will was the work of God; God by His almighty power moved his will as He does all that is in this world.” (De servo Arbitrio, against man’s free will.) That is why I go after Cults like this because they are hindering souls looking for God. They cripple those who are true baby Christians. They slander the work of the cross and refuse to come into salvation themselves. TRUTH IN LOVE
Yes we ARE responsible BUT in God's sovereignty He says NONE of us can or will seek HIM. HE doesn't like it when we think we chose HIM in our arrogance
Calvinism is an authoritarian theocratic sociology. It uses the Bible as a pretext for these things by exaggerating the distinction between grace and works in order to make a perpetual indictment against humanity as well as remove God and His grace from anything relatable, possible, and practical. This blatant rejection of the Incarnation is done in order to necessitate its authoritarianism as a mediation between God and man upon which, it can make everyone else desperate and dependent. This desperation and dependency however, is not for salvation and the forgiveness of sins in Christ through the gospel promises, but rather, for the arbitrary unpredictable whims of God on which they believe, lies their fate. This legalistic and false apostolic authoritarianism is deceptively justified under the pietistic guise which asserts that the Calvinist is merely and humbly recognizing the distinction and separation between God and man and thereby, recognizing and appreciating grace. However, this piety and supposed appreciation of Grace is meant to feed back into the idea that salvation by grace apart from works is a revelation of a perpetual and insurmountable separation between God and man that isn't reconciled through Jesus Christ but rather, through the worship of authoritarianism and the condemnation of humanity. Through this worship and condemnation, the Calvinist thinks he can create a vacuum for God by rejecting all things that involve reality, humanity, relativity, and practicality. And this all results from exaggerating salvation by grace through faith apart from works, so that it becomes an indictment and condemnation against humanity rather than a validation and justification by God in Christ. This condemnation of humanity and all things practical is what the Calvinist uses to tell himself that he is humble and appreciative of grace. However the Calvinist does not substitute sin and self with the life and righteousness of Jesus Christ, but rather he substitutes sin and self with the worship of arbitrary authoritarianism which he sees as God. Consequently, should someone choose to disagree with the Calvinist interpretation of scripture, the Calvinist retains the ability to accuse them of being a flesh loving self-righteous rebel against the Grace and authority of God. Therefore Calvinism is nothing more than an authoritarian movement disguised as humble piety, which holds people captive through the idea that God and His will has no relation and availability to man through the person of Christ, but rather, it is only available at random, through no other means but magical monergism, and the individual must therefore hate humanity itself as being sin, and worship the random arbitrary authoritarianism of God, as God, in hopes of attaining to God. The Calvinist believes all this because he presumes authoritarianism as the highest virtue. The Calvinist believes that God is manifested in authoritarianism more than He is in anything else on Earth. Hee believes that God only cares about His own authoritarianism at the expense of humanity and in spite of humanity. Thus the Calvinist assumes the same attitude for himself in hopes of being identified with God. This is why Calvinism is ultimately void of the love, grace, goodness and benevolence of God through the person of Jesus Christ as a means of relationship with God. Calvinism denies these relative attributes of God and presumes impersonal authoritarianism as the image of God rather than Christ. Calvinism is divided between two groups. On one hand, there are those who intentionally consider authoritarianism to be the highest virtue and image of God so as to grant themselves authoritarian superiority over other people. On the other hand there are genuine individuals who have never learned to attribute relative characteristics to God, and therefore do not know how to see God as humble and loving, while simultaneously being omnipotent and circumspect. While there is little hope for the intentional theocrats and sociologists in Calvinism, there does however remain a hope for the genuine individuals. If they can come to the place of truly believing that all of God is in Christ, they will find escape and refuge.
As a non Calvinist, i can most surely tell you, that you are misrepresenting what Calvinist actually believe. They affirm the Bible and everything there in, you can’t be a Calvinist, unless you believe in the inerrancy of the Bible. Baucham, MacArthur, Washer….. i can go on
Here is the issue; Does God choose us as believers....or do we choose God? The answer throughout the Bible is that God chose us; not before we were born, but before the foundation of the world. Thats what the Bible teaches.....Man has no free will. Man is born dead in his sins. Regeneration precedes faith and only God can cause someone the be born again.....just as Jesus explained to Nicodemus in John 3:1-15.....Notice the regeneration (John 3:1-15) comes before believing (John 3:16). Salvation worked the same way in the Old Testament. God chose Israel out of all the nations of the earth. (Amos 3:2). God did not choose the Egyptians, the Babylonians or the Assyrians....He chose Israel only....everyone else was not saved! One can choose to be religious and go to church; but only God chooses those to regenerate; they are called in the Bible; the ELECT; and its by His Amazing Grace. These ignorant preachers like this guy try to blame this teaching on John Calvin...when Paul and Jesus taught the EXACT same thing. Paul in I Cor 1:26-31 says God chose the weak things of the world to shame the wise; GOD chose the lowly things and the despised things so that noone may boast before Him. Paul taught the same thing in Romans 9:22-24.......but men like this preacher HATE THE BIBLE.....so in anger they rant against it....its pathetic.....this guy doesn't understand anything.....He may not be one of the Elect....sorry....Paul says right here in I Cor 1:15-16 "But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by his grace, was pleased 16 to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, my immediate response was not to consult any human being." PAUL SAYS THAT GOD CHOSE HIM AND SET HIM APART FROM HIS MOTHERS WOMB!! So God chose Paul; not Paul chose God!! HELLO!! If God did not choose you; then you will one day hear from God, "Depart from Me; I never knew you!" Once again here is Paul teaching PREDESTINATION. Romans 8:29-30. " For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified."
@timclark2925 calvinism is a set of philosophical arguments for why scripture isn't true. Predestination is to the adoption. Unbelievers predestined to have faith is not biblical. Calvinism is only arrived at if its first presupposed onto the Bible.
@timclark2925 regeneration is never before faith in the Bible. Never. You must be born again to see the kingdom of God, which means you must be born again to see the kingdom of God. Yet you think it says you must be regenerated to have faith. It shows the stunning presuppositions you must have as a calvinist. You come to scripture to prove calvinism. So the text is subjected to calvinism. Have you seen the kingdom of God? Ephesians 1 is a good example of this. Believers being "chosen in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless" is eisegeted to be "elect unbeliever chosen before the foundation of the world for salvation" Election is to service and blessing.
@@coryalbright9798 Yes it is....John 3:1-15 comes before John 3:16. YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT! Jesus Christ says in John 6:64-66 "Noone can come to Me unless that the father has enabled them." THATS WHAT YOU CALL CALVINISM....And guess what? The next verse says that many of His disciples no longer followed Him. THEY HATED CALVINISM IN THE FIRST CENTURY TOO! Free will Arminian theology; that you believe IS TOTAL HERESY! I can destroy your lies ANY TIME!! YOU WILL BE PROVEN WRONG! Paul even tells us in I Cor 1:26-31 3 TIMES that God chooses the Church! God chooses whom to save! God chose who to save before the foundation of the world! Paul is the one who teaches PREDESTINATION! Not John Calvin! You hate the Bible; that is your problem. Romans 9:22-24...Paul says you are a liar.
Great teaching and great points. Plus to add, when Adam sinned, he received death penalty and their eyes were open to good and evil, that’s it. There is no mention of total depravity, or loss of free will. That is assumed by the Calvinist.
Perhaps you can tell me where the Scriptures state that fallen sinners have a free will in the sense that they are able to choose what they do not desire? The only place I can find the phrase "free will" in the Bible is in relation to free will [voluntary] offerings in contrast to tithes which were required.
This is really good, I just found this channel and I'm impressed by this preacher. He's filled with The Spirit and speaks clearly and boldly for truth, in a loving way. Also pretty based comment around our current elections systems. I follow Soteriology101 for great content that refutes Calvinism, but what I like about this pastor's approach is he goes on the offense and shows strong scripture that point towards man having the free will to decide whether to make Jesus their Lord and Savior, or not. Well done! "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long-suffering towards us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:9
The concept of Calvinism (and I was one for almost 24 years, so i know) never existed in any form before Calvin, or perhaps Augustine. In other words, we had to have a MAN to come along CENTURIES after God's word was given to us, to explain what it "really meant." I get the same thing from Mormons (I live in Utah) and Jehovah's Witnesses. That's one the marks of a cult. And Calvinism is just as much a cult as the others.
That's absurd. You clearly know nothing about Calvinism or Mormonism if you compare Calvansits to LDS. Mormons have a new "prophet," new "angles," and new "holy books" on par with the Bible. They are 100% a false religion. John Calvin was just a guy who rejected the false Catholic church understanding of the Bible and gave his own perspective (which is objectively closer to Biblical reality than the Catholic understanding, resulting in his popularity). Do you also tell Lutherans they're in a cult and that Martin Luther was a cult leader? Funny enough, the number one argument Catholics use against protestants and Baptists is, "you really think the Catholic church got everything wrong for 1500 years until some MAN, Martin Luther, came along and explained away purgatory and indulgences?"
@@JohnnyCrack John Calvin was a mass murderer. Read what He himself said about putting Christians to the fire. Including his best friend for not agreeing with him. Calvinism insults God. Also, 1 Corinthians 1:17 (KJV) For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. It seems that Baptism in water is no longer part of the Gospel.
You will all be told by " Reformed Faith" people that " you do not understand Calvinism". Yet I have read much of John Calvin"s writings and I do understand it all quite well. And worse yet do a study on his life and you will find out he was a mass murderer and bragged about burning christians who disagreed with him. His good friend was such a victim ( Michael Servetus) a medical doctor. Calvin was chief prosecutor ofGeneva, and was able to get many people sentenced to death for simple sins. He earned the title " Pope of Geneva" for executing Christians as did the Pope. THis is who they have chosen to follow and add his name the name of CHRISTIAN calling themselves Calvinists. Yet I will be told that none of these facts are true by them. IT IS A CULT.
@@LawofLibertyNo, it isn't true. Servetus would have been burned by someone had the city council of Geneva had not executed him for heresy. Calvin did not even have sufficient influence over the Council to persuade them to execute him in a more humane manner. Most Calvinists would not agree with the practice of executing heretics, but such a practice was common in Calvin's day.
Every person who believes in Calvinism believes he is one of the lucky chosen. I see no compassion for those who weren’t. Others who believe in Calvinism suffer emotionally fearful they may not actually be one of the elect. There is no security in this belief system, only torment.
You cannot understand the doctrine of God because you have no spiritual mind to do so... the same can be said of everyman born of Adam.. until God works and act of Grace in you heart (as he did Paul) there you will remain.
God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; That they should *seek the Lord* if haply they might feel after him, and find him, *though he be not far from every one of us* For *in him* we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. {Acts 17:24-28}

My friend,.. how can you proof Calvin wrong, he was not even in the room. Surely he did not even wrote the points down, you whant the proof same thing, read the Word of God.
I want to be clear and as graceful as I can be when I say this and mean no hate. And I want to clearly state that I am not a Calvinist and I think the Calvinists are simply wrong in how they understand God's love and grace and power. But I must say that this man is equally wrong to condemn Calvinists for this understanding which there IS a biblical defense for these things. This has got to be the least scholarly and most misrepresented picture of Calvinism and presents it with little to no grace. Although I believe Calvinism is heterodox it is not a belief that should separate us from them as our brothers and sisters in Christ. Calvinist theology is not this simple to understand and he boldly caricatures it. Please look for some better resources for understanding this. Calvinists can be and in fact do represent many many baptists and many Christians. Sovereignty is NOT a synonym for Calvinism. The God of the Bible is sovereign and that doesn't mean Calvinism is true. Calvinism does not preach different baptism and not always different congregations. There are many Calvinists who go to non Calvinists church's and vice versa. Please please do actual research before painting in such broad strokes as this pastor. I'm sure he is great in other areas but this is not charitable nor is it a fair depiction of Calvinism although it is not completely incorrect either. I apologize if that offends anyone.
Well bro I am not a calvinist either but calvinism does have a view on the sovereignty of God that the non calvinist don't have and I believe their view is wrong and non biblical but is more philosophical and gnostic than anything else
Sure isn't, they believe that you have to be regenerated first, then you ucan believe on Jesus, but the Bible teaches that believe on Jesus is what regenerates you.
Yes, there is power in the gospel for those who believe. The gospel has no power to convert sinners in and of itself. No one will be converted without hearing it (Romans 10:14), but simply hearing it does not produce faith. If it did, everyone who heard it would be converted. For those who are bound by sin, the gospel continues to be foolishness everytime they hear it [see 1 Cor. 1:18; 2:14].

Pastor Fannin-- I am 65 years old, and I was raised Roman Catholic . For years I have been a non- denominational Christian. Your teaching on the FALSE and WICKED tenets of Calvinism was excellent !! Unfortunately , here in Eastern Pennsylvania there are very many Calvinist churches. The vast-majority are " German Reformed churches ' , that since 1957 have been part of the U.C.C. denomination . GOD BLESS YOU !
A very biased "sermon". Calvinists do not believe that humans have "no choice whatsoever". This is a very poor representation of what Calvinists actually believe. Perhaps you should read the entirety of the Institutes instead of cherry picking what fits your desired narrative. Calvinists do not believe that God "twists your arm" into going to heaven. You are way off!
Yes they do believe no one has a choice. God has decreed all things, whatsoever comes to pass is what the calvinist says. They say you choose by your nature and by your wants but in theyre system God decreed your nature and wants. It's determinism with an extra, unnecessary step. This is why many calvinists dont leave calvinism....the double talk tricks the unsuspecting calvinist to continue this man made theology.
@@coryalbright9798 I did earn my Masters degree from Calvin Theological Seminary, I understand Calvinism very well. Most people that reject Calvinism have a very elementary understanding of it. Election is different than fatalistic determinism. It is not that people do not have a choice, it is that people do have a choice but they are bound to their sin nature and therefore will only chose rebellion against God. It is not God that chose their nature, their nature comes from the fall, that was the choice of Adam and Eve. Now it is true that God has not chosen to regenerate the hearts of all people. Calvinists believe that Christ died for the elect, for those whom God predestined to be conformed to the image of Christ. If you have a problem with election and predestination then you will have to take that up with God because it is clearly taught throughout Scripture. I find it interesting that people get so upset about Christ having an elect people but don't seem to mind too much that God had elected Israel to be his people, even apart from their desire to follow Him. Anyways, I understand that Calvinism is a difficult system of theology to accept, I was an Arminian, as I am guessing you are now, for over 30 years. I am a Calvinist now not because I read Calvin's Institutes, no, I became a Calvinist before ever studying Calvinism. I became a Calvinist through my study of Scripture alone. I believe that Calvin's system of theology is derived from a faithful and complete exegesis of Scripture and is far more consistent than Arminius' system of theology that has throughout the last four centuries been refuted time and time again by the clear teachings of Scripture. But humans like Arminian theology, after all, it is more human. I get it. If you have any serious questions about Calvinism feel free to ask. Cheers!
@TheReasonableSkeptic I believe in biblical predestination and election. Election is almost always to service and blessing. Christ is the elect. Those chosen are chosen in Him. Not to be in him. Predestination in ephesians 1 is to the adoption. adoption is the redemption of the body which is a future event. Calvinists presuppose calvinism, then believe they got it from scripture. Calvinists are not monolithic but that's mostly because some are more comfortable with contradictions than others. Man has no choice in calvinism. That's a fact. Anything you say to get around that is double talk. Calvinism is a fundamental misunderstanding of scripture. Christ died for the whole world as stated in scripture several tines. If you didn't have a paradigm to adhere to then you'd realize that. How else could it be said? All, every man, everyone, the whole world If you don't believe that then your beliefs contradict scripture. If you believe in limited atonement you don't understand the atonement. Calvinists think if Christ died for you, you're automatically saved, yet scripture says if Christ be not raised you are yet in sin. Square that with limited atonement.
@TheReasonableSkeptic there's no verse that says an unbeliever was predestined to believe. Everything that is uniquely calvinistic cannot be found in scripture. Calvinists interpretation of the various proof texts are refuted if you keep reading or back up a few verses. They read acts 13 48 without considering the juxtaposition it's presenting with 13 46 The read John 6 without allowing John 12 to have a say. They read romans 9 but don't allow Paul to interpret his own words at the end of the chapter They read ephesians 1 and don't realize their exegesis is proven false in 2.12 Eliminate the presuppositions. Approach the Bible with no assumptions and see what it says. Thats very challenging but when done calvinism will melt away with God's word.
@@TheReasonableSkeptic Spiritual Israel are all who have placed their faith on Jesus Christ. God is no respecter of persons, never was, never will be. One must be circumcised of the heart to be of Israel. The doctrine of Zionism is as evil a doctrine as the false doctrines of Calvinism. The number 1 problem Bailey T. is that you find it childish to be KJV only. You don't believe in the doctrine of the preservation of God's word ( Ps. 12:6-7). This brings about confusion and doubt about what God truly said, and most of what appears to be "Christian" is really just a 'this is what I believe' free-for-all. When the pure word of God is your final authority, then only biblical doctrines arise! And "For God so loved the world..." simply means "For God so loved the world!". God said it, therefore I believe it. We don't wrest with the word of God, we don't corrupt the word of God. Calvinism is the result of both actions
T.U.L.I.P., unfortunately, is another one of many "man's constructs". Instead, just study the bible. Pray for wisdom. Walk in faith and grace.... Love the calvinist. Refute calvinism! That is love. That is grace. That is faith.
But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.
I am not a Calvinist, but for you to claim to debunk Calvinism and then not mention or confront Rom. 9 is cowardly. You mentioned Rom.8 and Rom.10, but left out the main scripture that Calvinists use to defend their position. All scripture is sacred and can't be disregarded. When you decide to confront Rom. 9 and defeat their interpretation, from that point, I will be listening.
Read Roman’s 9 in context and it’ll start making sense. ___________________________ Jacob and Esau depict nations in Rebekah's womb but they are not Edom and Israel. The purpose of the quote from Malachi is not to show which nation Jesus came from, something everyone already knows. There is a more spiritual meaning at play. The context and conclusion is that Jews were missing righteousness for thinking that it was attained by law...while Gentiles were attaining unto righteousness by faith. The contrast throughout Romans is Old Covenant/ New Covenant…Law / Faith…Letter/ Spirit...Law/ promise...Flesh/ Spirit. The two "nations" that were in Rebekah's womb were national Israel and the Church. That is Paul's point and that is why his kinsfolk of the "flesh" were not getting saved save a small remnant.
This Man obviously knows about Calvin's Teaching but clearly doesn't understand any of it. He doesn't understand Scripture for that matter. I believe in the Reformed Doctrine. This fellow has done nothing but lie about what I believe and misrepresented and maligned every Person I know who believes in The Reformed Doctrine. I grew up in a similar Congregation and I thank God Almighty He pulled me out. I urge you to read Romans 9 and Ephesians 1 and 2. Perhaps God will open your eyes to His Sovereignty. I hope He does.
Definition of sovereign is supreme or ultimate power. Sovereign is not found once in the bible and it doesnt entail that God causes every decision from his creatures. The god of calvinism isnt the most glorious version of God; the most glorious version of God is one who gives the most beautoful gift imaginable - the ability to have the freedom to make our own choices - and in giving this gift, still gets his purpose done.
@@TheLimitlessLegacy The Sovereignty of God is displayed in every book of the Bible my friend. It's written in every act of God. To blame God for the Evil Acts of Evil Men is ridiculous and the Reformed Doctrine certainly does not teach this nor do we believe this. As Slaves to Sin, all men have the "Free Will" to Sin any way they want. All men are spiritually dead according to scripture. According to Scripture, Man in His Carnality Cannot understand anything Spiritual. But it's God's Sovereign Choice to Regenerate the Spirit of whom ever He chooses and to believe otherwise is a misunderstanding of the Authority of God. We Calvinist do preach the Gospel because we know "the message of the Cross is foolishness to those who are Perishing, but to us who are being Saved it is the Power of God." This speaker in this video, like all Arminians, has set himself Higher than he ought, thinking He created his own faith in God, but God made it clear in Romans 12:3 that he did not.
@@TheLimitlessLegacy Sovereign is in the Bible many times if you are not stuck with Good News for Ancient Man, AKA the KJV. Only an idiot would imagine that Calvinists deny that sinners have the freedom to make our own choices. Of course, we make our own choices. It is a shame that ignorance isn't painful.
Exactly. *God is Not the Author of Confusion!* Think about it like this. God is Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient correct? This means God can do anything, Be Everywhere and Knows Everything. The Bible also describes God as *Love* (1st John4 verse 12), as *Righteous* (Psalm 11 verse 7), and as *Good* (Nahum 1 verse 7) Now if each of these things is true, then in order for God to be as those descriptors from the bible then it will require God to *Be Able To Do Anything But Unwilling To Do Everything* For example,... God can know evil but never do evil. Not because he doesn't know how, but because he chooses not to do it. _(This was the point of the Trees in the Garden by the way. The knowledge of Evil existing in such a holy place yet not wrecking the sanctity of that place with it's presence. Man being given the option to ignore this presence and learn all that is good from God personally without the need to eat from the tree. So many lessons found in that one story its amazing.)_ So that being said ask yourself these logic questions,... *(1)* If God is truly All Knowing would he not know before they were born who would love him and who would not? *(2)* If God is truly All Knowing then would it not be logical that God would know who truly did and didn't deserve a fate such as Hell? *(3)* If God is truly All Righteous would it not be logical that God would not allow those that don't deserve to suffer such a fate to suffer it? *(4)* Would not a Righteous, Loving and Good God logically make a way for those he loved to escape a fate such as Hell? *(5)* If God truly is Love wouldn't it be illogical that God would enslave the minds and hearts of those that he wanted to willingly return his love to him? The answer to all these question is *YES!* And this is the problem with Calvinism. God made man and gave mankind the freedom to disobey him. The reason this was done was not because he wanted to create people that were born to go to Hell. This was done because Love requires those that participate in the act of Love the *AGENCY TO CHOOSE TO PARTICIPATE.* Without this agency all are slaves and no better than robots. Love without consent is rape after all; and God forces himself upon no one. It's for this reason it's not fair to blame God for the actions of those who intentionally choose to disobey and practice evil. To do so removes individual agency. It's why Satan will go to Hell. God created Lucifer; but Lucifer created Satan. And Satan will never recant because in his madness he truly believes he is greater than God. The reward of love is worth the existence of evil. And because God knew this would all be so even before the creation of mankind, the *Plan Of Salvation* was conceived. *For with Love comes Mercy, Grace, Patience and Forgiveness.* And most importantly a way for those who *Choose to Know Him* to *Take Shelter in Him.* This is why the bible says that he will tell those who insist on indulging a reprobate mind that he doesn't know them. *God's knowing the future doesn't remove independent agency from those who will exist in that tomorrow. And this is why one must not only believe, but willingly practice what they believe. For this is how we will all be judged. Did you believe in Love and Did you Practice it? If you did then you know God and will be saved. Whoa to those that choose to do otherwise. It will be there fault that they suffer alongside Satan.* Calvinism is the mentality of a person that wants to sin and justifies living in sin by essentially believing no matter what they do it's ultimately all cool because God is going to save them anyway as God is ultimately in full control of everything they do lol. So many people are going to hear God say depart from me you workers of iniquity. I know you not. They are going to be dumbfounded as they burst into hell like a car racing into a break wall.
@deomartinez77 If you understood Calvinism, you would know how feeble and inaccurate your arguments are. And God is not going to say to anyone "I know you not." God doesn't use the KJV. He speaks modern English.
@@TheBereanVoice LOL! GOD uses whatever tongue his creations use at whatever point in time they use it. He also can communicate in tongues not yet heard. And yes he can use modern English as well. I don't remember saying that he couldn't. And that's because I didn't. Also go and read Matthew 7 verse 21-23 and then tell me again that God is NOT going to tell people that think they are doing his will but in fact are not, that he never knew them. Also point out where I am wrong about Calvinism or keep your opinion to yourself bud. You are already proven to be a liar by saying that God didn't say he would not say that he didn't know people who claim to be righteous but aren't.
History tell otherwise, Catholic Church are the only true Church established by Jesus, while Protestanism are 16th century Chruch made by a Roman Catholic Rebel from Germany and France, who rebelled against the true Church of Christ, Martin Luther and John Calvin. Both are rebel and responsible for the division of the Church and also responsible for the emerging of Modernism, the greatest heresy of all times. St. Peter, the first Pope die in Rome and all the Church Fathers teach about Rome as the mother of all diocese. Because St. Peter the Apostle established his office as Pope in Rome, and because Jesus appointed him as the leader of the earliest Church and His vicar (Matthew 16:18-19), so Rome will always be the symbol of unity of the Church on earth. Bishop of Rome (The Pope) are the Bishop who unite all the Bishops around the world.
I once thought Calvinist where a cult. Brothers and sisters, please study what the truly believe. What I thought the believed was a misrepresentation of their beliefs. For example, I was told they believe there is NO free will and ppl are like robots. That is false. Calvinists and reformed theology believe we all have a choice, but not free will. We believe we choose to sin, but our will is not free to choose not to sin. We believe you are a slave to sin or slave to christ. If you put a piece of wood in front of a termite and a piece of meat, The termite has a choice. But because of the nature of the termite it will freely CHOOSE the wood every time, because it is a slave to its nature. If you put christ and sin in front if a lost man, he has a choice. He will choose sin every time because he is a slave to his sin nature. We believe salvation is a MIRICLE of God not a choice of man. We believe God must first change the leopards spots, or, change the heart of the lost man or that man can not nor will not ever choose Christ. Have you ever heard a testimony that goes like this? I was in the pue, the preacher said it was the last verse of the song and the alter call would end. I was holding on tight to the pue, next thing I know, I was on my knees at the alter. I left claw marks in the pews I was holding on so hard. Look at what he said.... I WAS HOLDING ON. that is, the persons will was to stay where he was, he had no desire to be saved, he left claw marks because God ripped that person out of the pews against his will. God does not cause men to do evil, men choose to do evil because they are slave to their sin nature. They must be born again and receive God's new nature or he will only ever choose sin. He freely desires sin because that's what his nature wants him to desire.
This makes no sense. If we cannot choose to not sin, then we cannot "choose" to sin. If you only have one choice, you don't have a choice. That's not how any of this works. So basically, you're lying, first to yourself then to others.
Seriously, imagine I told you to not let your heart beat. It's impossible. Does that mean that you chose to make your heartbeat? Of course not, you didn't have any sort of choice in the matter, unless you cannot be held guilty for letting your heart beat. If our only option is to send, then it is not our fault when we send. However, it is our option to sin or to not sin, therefore since we're held as guilty, then we must have the choice not to sin. By extension, we must have the ability to choose to have faith. What's the difference between a calvinist and a christian? A Christian reads the whole chapter.
@@SeanWinters now your getting it, you really don't have a choice, you like a slave, must obey your master. The only difference is b4 you are saved, you love doing the will of Satan. So although you are a slave to sin, you also love it. Every part of the lost man, his will, his mind, emotions are all corrupted by sin. It penetrats the core of your being untill everything we do is sinfull, leaving our most rightous acts like filthy rag to God Isaiah 64:6. A bad tree can NOT produce good fruit Mathew 7:17-18 Your heart is “deceitful and desperately wicked” (Jeremiah 17:9). You are born dead in transgression and sin (Psalm 51:5, Psalm 58:3, Ephesians 2:1-5). You are held CAPTIVE by a love for sin (John 3:19; John 8:34 ..so that you will not seek God (Romans 3:10-11) because you LOVE the darkness (John 3:19) and you do not understand the things of God (1 Corinthians 2:14). In your fallen state, with the sin nature you are born with, you are as the Bible says a slave to sin held CAPTIVE by your love of sin. Do you not understand what that means? Not only do you not have a choice because you are a slave, you also love being a slave so much that you are not innocent either. In other words, your choice is governed by your sin nature, the nature you where born with. This is why Jesus said you must be born again, born with a new nature, one that loves what God loves and hates what HE hates. Without the new nature, 2 things are true at once. You are a slave to sin and must obey, and your live for sin drives you to do so. You and your master the devil are working together willfully, all the wile you want nothing to do with Christ. The saying is true, the gates of hell are locked from the inside. They want nothing to do with the God they chose to hate, and must hate at the same time.

I find it very troubling that you have chosen to use your pulpit in such an unthoughtful, ungraceful, and shameful way. I don't care if you disagree with John Calvin, but at least be honourable and honest in your critique.
@NORTHWOODSNOKILL Well, one example is the claim that infinite baptism was primarily used for taxation. This is silly. Also, the claim that Calvin taught a person has no responsibility for their sin because of God's sovereignty is utterly false. Calvin would never say that. Calvin never denied man's choice but wanted a more refined understanding of the human will and was expounding a more biblically grounded understanding of human will as corrupted by sin. Calvin had no problem with free will insofar as we understand free will within the bounds of our nature.
I'm sorry if I came off as "teeth gnashing." That was not my intention. I have no problem with people disagreeing with Calvin. I have greatly benefited from him. In Jeremiah, "Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots?"

In what other sense can you imagine that God has given believers grace before the world began? What do you think Paul meant when he wrote to Ephesian believers and told them that God chose them in Christ before the world began? Paul wrote that the elect [according to the election of Grace] from the elect nation of Israel had obtained a right standing before God through faith.
You are 100% correct about "Calvinism". However, a person must be "baptized" to be saved, but it has nothing to do with water. The proof is found below. Please consider the following without ridicule or condemnation.
Old Covenant Baptism vs. New Covenant Baptism (water vs. Spirit)
Water baptism was a part of the Old Covenant system of ritual washing.
(Born-again)
Eph 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
(A person must “hear” the Gospel, and “believe” the Gospel, and will then be “sealed” with the Holy Spirit.)
Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
(See Jer. 31:34 for the New Covenant promise, and 1 John 2:27 for the fulfillment)

Which baptism is a part of the salvation process, based on what the Bible says?

Who is giving thanks to God always? Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy (see 1:1)
For whom are Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy thankful? The readers of this letter, brethren beloved by the Lord; the Christians at Thessalonica.
Why are Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy thankful? Because God chose the brethren at Thessalonica.
For what where they chosen? Salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth.
When did God choose them? From the beginning.
How did God call them? By our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

[26] ... *_hath made of one blood all nations of men_* for to dwell on all the face of the earth, *_and hath determined the times before appointed,_* and the bounds of their habitation;
[27] *_That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:_*

11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”
12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile-the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,
13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
16 But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?”
17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
18 But I ask: Did they not hear? Of course they did: “Their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.”
19 Again I ask: Did Israel not understand?
"Calvists believe God forces you to do evil and then sends you to hell for it!"
No, Calvinists believe there are none righteous and that no one seeks God or understands him by his nature.

I suggest you remove yours... in our natural, sinful Adamic state there is none righteous.
In the Bible, you do not become righteous, you are declared righteous.
Romans 3: 9 What then? Are we Jews any better off? No, not at all. For we have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks, are under sin, 10 as it is written:
“None is righteous, no, not one;
11 no one understands;
no one seeks for God.
12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless;
no one does good,
not even one.”
19 Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God.
The major tenant of Calvinism is predestination... so you're a calvinist who doesn't believe in Calvinism?

This includes-as incredible and as unacceptable as it may currently seem-God’s having even brought about the Nazis’ brutality at Birkenau and Auschwitz as well as the terrible killings of Dennis Rader and even the sexual abuse of a young child . . .

JONATHAN EDWARDS ON THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD (CALVINISM)
"The Sovereignty of God is the stumbling block on which thousands fall and perish; and if we go contending with God about His sovereignty it will be our eternal ruin. It is absolutely necessary that we should submit to God as an absolute sovereign, and the sovereign of our souls; as one who may have mercy on whom He will have mercy and harden whom He will" (Jonathan Edwards).
The quote above, by Jonathan Edwards, is excerpted from Arminianism: Another Gospel -
Jonathan Edwards
Most historians consider Jonathan Edwards, a Northampton Anglican minister, one of the chief fathers of the Great Awakening.
George Whitefield
George Whitefield, a minister from Britain, had a significant impact during the Great Awakening.
Daniel 4: 34 At the end of the days I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and praised and honored him who lives forever, for his dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom endures from generation to generation; 35 all the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, and he does according to his will among the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand or say to him, “What have you done?”
THIS IS HOW CALVIN PREACHED THE GOSPEL
FREE OFFER OF THE GOSPEL (Calvin's Wisdom p119-120)
He calls all men to himself, without a single exception, and gives Christ to all, that we may be illumined by him.
Why??? 215.

In fact, he would delight and find glory in her eternal torture in hell.”
Who are really created in the image of then, God or satan?
“And whenever I raise these points with Calvinists, all they can say is that I should be more grateful for my own salvation! It’s like, ‘as long as my eternal destiny is secure, as long as my life is all planned out and taken care of by God, who gives a damn about family, friends or anyone else!’ How can you be okay with that? How can anyone be okay with that? Why do I feel find this heresy morally offensive?” Only the devil should be at ease with such an abomination!

@@TheBereanVoiceNo, anybody who gives a sound reproof of Calvinism always gets the flag that "you misrepresent Calvinism"... There is no grace in Calvinism. It's actually a man centered theology
Besides, who cares about your debate ?
Can you tell me what the gospel is? This way I can know whether you are of the truth or not ?
Calvinists always say this then either affirm what people say about them and just use different language, OR you’re not really Calvinists and try to explain how all your non Calvinist views really are Calvinist almost like you’re trying to prove it to yourself.
A debate would be great.
What do you imagine we would disagree about?
Predestination example 2:
Grandma saves and saves to buy her granddaughter a plane ticket to France. She has been saving for many years and the day finally arrived and she gave her granddaughter her special gift.
The granddaughter goes to the airport and asks the attendant which plane to get on. The attendant says, what is your destination on your ticket? He reads the ticket which says “Destination France.”
He also said that flight 446 is a modern jet that was especially built and destined by the airline to fly exclusively to France for its entire service life.

It mentions God's Will over and over in the Bible. Please refer to where it discusses Man's Free Will? We all have choices but for those God knows (Elect) are coming from womb to tomb He draws us to Him, the rest won't ever come, however, we don't know who they are so we spread His word to all. The command to choose implies…..choice…..
@truthtransistorradio6716
Tell me what Gnostic belief Augustine brought into the Church.
@@TheBereanVoice That everything is predetermined for one.
@@truthtransistorradio6716 Everything is predetermined, but the Gnostic doctrine is nothing at all like the biblical doctrine.

If Jesus died for the sins of people in hell, why are they in hell??? He just said Jesus couldn't save the people who are hell!!!!
“He makes this favor common to all, because it is propounded to all, and not because it is in reality extended to all; for though Christ suffered for the sins of the whole world, and is offered through God’s benignity indiscriminately to all, yet all do not receive him.” [Calvin’s Commentary on Romans 5:18]
Nevertheless, forasmuch as it is not in us to discern between the righteous and the sinners that go to destruction, but that Jesus Christ has suffered His death and passion as well for them as for us, therefore it behoves us to labour to bring every man to salvation, that the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ may be available to them ...” [Sermon CXVI on the Book of Job (31:29-32)]
“The word many is not put definitely for a fixed number, but for a large number; for he contrasts himself with all others. And in this sense it is used in Romans 5:15, where Paul does not speak of any part of men, but embraces the whole human race.” [Calvin’s Commentary on Matthew 20:28]
“For he intended expressly to state [in John 3:16] that, though we appear to have been born to death, undoubted deliverance is offered to us by the faith of Christ; and, therefore, that we ought not to fear death, which otherwise hangs over us.

Can you explain Predestination then?
I can
God is not the author of evil but He knows how to use it. He didn't make us robots but sin has caused humans dead in transgressions to be its slaves- or robots. Is grace "force"? What do you do with Luke 10:22?
Luke
10 : 21, 22.

The question is whether a person only wants to be saved from hell or also from the bondage of sin. UNCONDITIONAL ELECTION (A wicked, unbiblical, false Calvinists doctrine):
Also known as “sovereign election,” this is the teaching that God’s rescuing of sinners is entirely due to His own will and good pleasure (Ephesians 1:5).

You-- I - removes our requirement to believe in Jesus (says we can’t believe God will make us believe)
God doesn't Make anyone believe.

You need spaces and paragraphs mate. That’s a mess what you wrote
I’m learning more about this ravenous wolf Calvin and let’s not forget Luther..revenue wolf.. thank you brother for speaking on this
Hitler followed Luther's teaching to the letter.
“ If I had to baptize a Jew, I would take him to the bridge of the Elbe, hang a stone round his neck and push him over with the words I baptize thee in the name of Abraham” (Grisar, “Luther”, Vol. V. pg. 413.)
“The Jews deserve to be hanged on gallows seven times higher than ordinary thieves.”(Weimar, Vol. 53, Pg. 502.)
Luther was a Calvinist before Calvin.
Luther teaches: “…with regard to God, and in all that bears on salvation or damnation, (man) has no ‘free-will’, but is a captive, prisoner and bond slave, either to the will of God, or to the will of Satan.”
(From the essay, ‘Bondage of the Will,’ ‘Martin Luther: Selections From His Writings, ed. by Dillenberger, Anchor Books, 1962 p. 190.)
“…we do everything of necessity and nothing by ‘free-will’; for the power of ‘free-will’ is nil…” (Ibid., p. 188.)
“Man is like a horse. God is the author of what is evil as well as of what is good, and, as He bestows happiness on those who merit it not, so also does He damn others who deserve not their fate.”
(‘De Servo Arbitrio’, 7, 113 seq., quoted by O’Hare, in ‘The Facts About Luther, TAN Books, 1987, pp. 266-267.)
“His (Judas) will was the work of God; God by His almighty power moved his will as He does all that is in this world.”
(De servo Arbitrio, against man’s free will.)
That is why I go after Cults like this because they are hindering souls looking for God. They cripple those who are true baby Christians. They slander the work of the cross and refuse to come into salvation themselves.

Yes we ARE responsible BUT in God's sovereignty He says NONE of us can or will seek HIM. HE doesn't like it when we think we chose HIM in our arrogance
Mischaracterized. This is a huge straw man. Total depravity of man is fundamental. As is eternal security.
Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”

Is calvinism a false gospel?
Yes, man made
Stay away from it. It is poison that will turn you into a Calvinist zombie.
Predestination is believer to adoption. Not unbeliever to believer. Calvinists read the Bible with calvinism as the starting point.
@@coryalbright9798 what?
Believers being "chosen in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless" is eisegeted to be "elect unbeliever chosen before the foundation of the world for salvation"
Election is to service and blessing.
Amen

Amen, all true

Yes, there is power in the gospel for those who believe. The gospel has no power to convert sinners in and of itself. No one will be converted without hearing it (Romans 10:14), but simply hearing it does not produce faith. If it did, everyone who heard it would be converted. Calvinists drain the good news and the power out of the gospel
Why did you leave the catholic church??
All, every man, everyone, the whole world
If you don't believe that then your beliefs contradict scripture.
They read acts 13 48 without considering the juxtaposition it's presenting with 13 46
The read John 6 without allowing John 12 to have a say.
They read romans 9 but don't allow Paul to interpret his own words at the end of the chapter
They read ephesians 1 and don't realize their exegesis is proven false in 2.12
Eliminate the presuppositions.

Gentiles were attaining unto righteousness by faith. The contrast throughout Romans is Old Covenant/ New Covenant…Law / Faith…Letter/ Spirit...Law/ promise...Flesh/ Spirit.
The two "nations" that were in
Rebekah's womb were national Israel and the Church. That is Paul's point and that is why his kinsfolk of the "flesh" were not getting saved save a small remnant.

According to Scripture, Man in His Carnality Cannot understand anything Spiritual. But it's God's Sovereign Choice to Regenerate the Spirit of whom ever He chooses and to believe otherwise is a misunderstanding of the Authority of God.

@@TheBereanVoice So sinners can choose to place their faith and trust on Christ for salvation?
Exactly. *God is Not the Author of Confusion!* Think about it like this. God is Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient correct? This means God can do anything, Be Everywhere and Knows Everything.
The Bible also describes God as *Love* (1st John4 verse 12), as *Righteous* (Psalm 11 verse 7), and as *Good* (Nahum 1 verse 7)
Now if each of these things is true, then in order for God to be as those descriptors from the bible then it will require God to *Be Able To Do Anything But Unwilling To Do Everything*
For example,...
So many lessons found in that one story its amazing.)_
So that being said ask yourself these logic questions,...
The answer to all these question is *YES!*
And this is the problem with Calvinism.

"Jesus Christ Superstar" was a cynical Calvinist hyperbole !
I wish you would have a sermon exposing Luther and Lutheranism for the heresy and filth that they are.
Amen, thanks for the suggestion
A bad tree can NOT produce good fruit Mathew 7:17-18
Your heart is “deceitful and desperately wicked” (Jeremiah 17:9).
@@dude8223 Weird, so how do you explain atheists who do good? Is this fake good? Does bill gates just pretend to give to charity? Does Elon just pretend to care about free speech? You have met atheists who enjoy doing good, guaranteed, assuming you aren't on a theocratic island of some sort. If your unbiblical logic is true, then this must be an illusion of sorts. And if such illusions exist, how could you say good that Christians do aren't illusions?
It's as if you've read a total of 20 verses and met like 5 people in your life.
@@dude8223 Wait, so you're equating God to satan? HERESY WORTHY OF LIFELONG SHAME!!! You're making the argument that God punishes people just because He likes it. You're calling got a Sadist. This is satanic.
Again, if a sinner has no choice but to sin(an idea NOT found in the bible with proper exegesis and hermeneutics), whether or not they like sinning, it doesn't matter. At all. If they have no choice then they cannot be held responsible. After all, they cannot RESPOND.
You're saying that because we "love" sinning, that somehow makes us responsible, when that's not anywhere in the BIBLE. Especially because, in your twisted soul, it's God who FORCES us to LIKE sin in the first place.
∆ all of this, by the way, is refuted by James.
UA-cam loves to put these "Calvinism Debunked" videos in my feed and without failure it's someone misrepresenting Calvinism. "Judge not..." btw
Go ahead and give us the correct version of calvinism. Judge not, lest ye be judge, because what judgement you judge with, you will be judged. That verse isn't telling us not to judge, because there are other scriptures that says we are supposed to judge. That scripture says, that what judgement you give, yo uwill be judged in the same manner.
@@livingforjesus8551 feel free to read the Heidelberg Catechism and the Canons of Dordt if you need a better understanding of what Christians of the Calvinist tradition believe. If you really have time you can read "the Institutes" and read what Calvin the man thought.
One can believe in Calvinism and be lost, Calvinism is not the Gospel. Calvin did not write Romans 9 nor author the doctrine of election. It concerns me that you say you believe man has free will when man's will is a slave of sin by nature. We must have different understandings of sovereignty. You did not choose that blue suits (by your own admission) without considering other factors (such as what the wife was wearing for one per your statement) God did not confer with anyone in creation there was none other He was free to do as he willed, man weights every choice with his surroundings how it will effect the future, God know the future because he made it as well as the past.. Your criticism of God choosing beforehand (predestination) is old news and only parrots words of other disdainers who have no knowledge of the Truth.
Roman's 16:25-26 Teaches that "God ", has commanded for the Preaching of Jesus Christ to be according to the revelation of the mystery of the Gospel! Anything less than the full counsel of The Finished Work Of Christ is another gospel! All those with such hatred towards predestination and election do not understand The Promise of Our Lord Jesus to reconcile All Things Unto Himself! They think that the tares, the children of the wicked one are also the children of promise? They do not understand that Christ is coming back once again to destroy All of these false teachers in this present earth age who are speaking evil of the things that they understand not! These tares have departed from the simplicity of The Doctrine Of Christ! For He Shall Save His People from their sins! Jesus clearly taught that the tares are not His Sheep! And that they also were made to be taken and destroyed! 2 Peter 2:12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not, and shall utterly perish in their own corruption! These tares have apostisised from the faith that was once delivered unto the saints! In whom The Way Of The Truth "Jesus ", shall be evil spoken of!
Election is always to service or to blessings based on your actions. it is never never never in reference to Salvation.
@@timothyrogers1964 Ephesians 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined ( predetermine, determine before, ordain, in applications of above, ago, before and ever) according to the purpose of Him who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will. 12 That we should be to the praise of His Glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard The Word Of Truth, The Gospel Of Your Salvation: in whom also after that ye Believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit Of Promise.
@@timothyrogers1964 The Gospel of One's Salvation shall never, never, never be found in the four Gospel accounts! John 3:16 is the Gospel call of Jesus unto Salvation. One shall never find the revelation of Christ unto His Church, His Body, which He hath purchased with His Own Blood! Ephesians is clearly teaching that Christ hath predestination His Church before the foundation of the world. That we (The Church), should be rooted and grounded in the faith of Him (Jesus). That is the faith that was Once delivered unto the saints! The Doctrine Of Christ teaches the reconciliation of All Things! Jesus himself taught the reconciliation of All Things! And I find great comfort in knowing that my Savior shall reconcile All Things back unto Himself! And I find great joy in knowing that Christ is building His Church! And that the gates of hell shall not prevail against it! So I just can't understand why any professing Christian would be so hostile towards these precious pearls of God's Promise For His People? I just can't understand how one could be so hostile towards John Calvin? When John Calvin had absolutely nothing to do with the given of Christ's revelation unto His Church! I just don't understand? How anyone? Could take God's Word and trampled it!
@@edsnyder2801 Are you truly willing to defend a diabolic not biblical concept of TULIP and its horrible disturbing maligning of Gods moral perfection !? The bible does not teach nor define, limited atonement, irresistible grace, unconditional election, perseverance of the saints. There are some arguments for the problem of 'depravity' which requires the convicting work of His Spirit, but Romans 1 makes clear that 'Total Depravity' MAY be the result of a life continuing going against ones conscience and it is never defined as a natural condition from birth. (Never mind the complete lack of any fruit in Calvin's own life, I don't believe for a second that this man was saved in the end).
Once saved always saved is a false teaching. We must continue to obey John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; John 15:9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. Acts 13:43 Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.Acts 14:23 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. Pastor if your preaching Once Saved Always Saved repent I believe that I heard you say that. It is as heretical as Calvinism
Joh 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any [man] pluck them out of my hand.
Joh 10:29 My Father, which gave [them] me, is greater than all; and no [man] is able to pluck [them] out of my Father’s hand.
I find it very troubling that you have chosen to use your pulpit in such an unthoughtful, ungraceful, and shameful way. Even if you disagree with John Calvin, your goal should be to represent him accurately as you seek to share your disagreements. Your treatment was nothing but straw men and caricatures.
However, I don't agree with everything he said, but I do think a pastor should act with integrity and represent those he opposes accurately.
I wish i had a church like this where I live
Pretty easy to stand up there and make proclamations about things you don't understand.. how about a debate? Let's compare scripture with scripture
@NORTHWOODSNOKILL I've covered this topic extensively on our channel, any sermon or study dealing with the bondage of the will. The links will not let me post them
I have asked him to debate me, but he is a coward.
