Great video of Kiev, it is indeed a very beautiful city. The Roshen chocolate company is actually owned by the Ukrainian President and yes, their chocolates are delicious. Next time you visit Ukraine, you have to check out Lviv. It is not as large as Kiev, but it has beautiful architecture and so many different churches of varying denominstions. You will be spoilt for choice with restaurants as well in Lviv. It is another great city that you have to visit.
Yes I am already dying to come back see Lviv! We didn't have time on this trip but I've heard wonderful things. We loved Ukraine so I'll definitely be back!
Great video! You might be wondering why people comment about Kiev vs Kyiv. Here's the situation: the modern territory of Ukraine has been under the mostly unwelcome influence of Russia for hundreds of years. The revolutionary events of 1991, 2004 and 2013-2014 have shown that the Ukrainians are tired of the tyranny of the eastern neighbor. Ukrainians want to break free from the Russian influence AND correct the stories of the past. An example might be, the of the name of the state of Russia itself (previously Moskovia) was made up by Ivan the Terrible to hijack the legacy of the medieval State of Rus (modern-day Ukraine). I don't want to go too deep down the rabbit hole, but basically, there were tons of myths being created and facts distorted to support the narrative that Moskovia is the primary heir of the Rus. These stories were exported all over the globe and are now considered a historical consensus (even though they were recently proven to be fake). I'm writing all of this just to give you a glimpse of why Ukrainians are so upset with the Russia (not even taking into an account the annexations and an ongoing war) So, what does all of this have to do with the city name? Well, it's simple: Kiev is romanized from RUSSIAN "Киев" and Kyiv is romanized from UKRAINIAN "Київ". Now, I'd ask you to think which of the two names makes more sense to use. Please don't mind people get emotional about this, IMHO Ukrainians have every reason to get triggered by things like that. Thanks for the great vlog!
Thanks for the info 🥰 I always used Kyiv on my instagram but when I was making this video I chose Kiev because it gets searched more on UA-cam and I wanted to encourage as many people as possible to visit your fab city!! But I've changed it here now too :)

One more thing about McMonalds. In Kyiv there is a lot of delitious cafe with different burgers. So McDonalds desided to show how modern it is and designed two special burgers for people who want it. But still better to go in random cafe for having burger in Kyiv, it will be amazing and cheap.
Yes! All the food we had in Kyiv was great! The McDonald's was just a fun idea because of the index. But I've never had a bad meal in Kyiv - everywhere is great :)

Only one thing. It's Kyiv, Not Kiev.
I have changed the title after people let me know :)
@@digitalnomadgirl thank you❤️
it is Kiev in English
@@louisecorchevolle9241 It is Kyiv in English. Kyiv is Ukrainian spelling, while Kiev is Russian spelling. Which is crazy, cause Kyiv is the capital of Ukraine not Russia
@@anastasiadziman4493 not for me in French iit is Kiev is not Russian, as well in English it is kiev and in 100 languages you have a political agenda not supported of 73% of Ukrainian electing a russophone President same proportion of ukrainian using russian as communication language you could also take the viking name of kiev; do you think future tourists know KYIV this is only in ukrainian, kievians pronounce Kiev because a hard majority is russophone in your capital Do you want to irradicate russian is it democratic ?. I have nothing against ukraine I love it belive me
