I heard it was because he didn’t want to do a bunch of action scenes and stuff because his back was still messed up from a botched stunt in another movie.
I'm pretty sure its because his scenes were expendable.

Quick cutting any of his fights was a crime. The man did the most insane stunts for Ong Bak and The Protector with MULTIPLE camera angles!!

The Jumbo Shrimp thing is pretty messed up. Like our heroes just causally murder people for fun. Even the bar fight early on they initiated and escalated.
IKR? I know they're killers, but they don't randomly kill innocent people. It would have been better if Jumbo Shrimp was like a human trafficer or something.
Getting Tony Jaa and Iko Uwais for this movie and not having them fight each other is worth 100 sins.
The only reason to watch it, and they never used it.

1:05 100 mill budget apparently but filming an actual street is just so much work
A Movie with a budget of 100 mil only made like 53 mil in box office. 37mil of that came from worldwide an only 16mil came from US and canada boy I wonder why

Haven't watched this one because Crew, banderas, Snipes weren't in it. From what I've seen of the clips and reviews it looks like Stallone really didn't give a sh*t about this one.

Out of everything in all four movies, the fate of Jumbo Shrimp makes Barney so irredeemable to me. Yeah yeah yeah, these are tough guys who don't care about feelings (even with Gunnar's therapy) and need to be all macho machismo all the time, but dang, that was just cruel and undeserved.
