On the off chance any film producers are reading a UA-cam comment, hear me out. This is how you fix the series in Expendables 5: Expendables 3 made a good, solid ending for Schwarzenegger and Jet Li. We don't need them. They're out. What Expendables 3 also did was prove the case for Antonio Banderas and Wesley Snipes. Bring them in! Expendables 4's first big mistake (there were a lot of big mistakes) was cutting Banderas and Snipes. Poor move. Here's what you do: Stallone's team is sent on a mission. Stallone's team comprises of Statham, Megan Fox, Banderas (he's back, baby!), 50 Cent, Lundgren, Couture, Levy Tran and Jacob Scipio. If there was one thing - and only one thing - Expendables 4 got right it was hiring Scipio to play Banderas's son because he totally nails it. What we need is Banderas and Scipio together!!! Let's give them scenes together. They would play so well off each other. Make some silly excuse for why Banderas wasn't in the last movie like he was on a meditation retreat or something like that. Anyway, they’re on this mission and - surprise - he's not the only team sent in! Little does Stallone know, it's a team-up mission between the Expendables and... wait for it... Wesley Snipe's team. Yeah - it turns out between movie 3 and 4, Snipes and Stallone had a falling out. It was a big deal. Snipes left the team and he took with him Glen Powell, Kellan Lutz, Rhonda Rousey, and Victor Ortiz. That’s right - he took all the young bucks from Expendables 3. They’re back! It was weird that they just totally disappeared between 3 and 4 without explanation, plus Powell has much more star power now than he did 10 years ago and people really like him. Anyway, the Expendables are fractured between these two teams and Stallone isn’t happy about it because he sees these five as turning their backs on him and “splitting up the family.” They do the mission, but it goes awry because the two teams can’t work together. The villain, who is either Nicholas Cage, Sigourney Weaver, or Jean Claude Van Damme playing the twin brother of his Expendables 2 character, or an alliance of all three of these actors, gets away with stage 1 of the evil plan. Back in New Orleans, the team reconvenes and gets their act together and they have to overcome whatever problem split up the team years ago. During this time, there are two subplots where 1. Charisma Carpenter’s character is back and she confronts Statham about the fact that they never got married. This will serve as a way to tie up that overtly unresolved thread from Expendables 2, while humanizing Statham in a very real way (not the stupid, silly way from Expendables 4 where he was a bodyguard for some reason). And 2. Lundgren goes to therapy to discuss a very real portrayed alcohol addiction. Again, we can have a chance to humanize someone who has been portrayed as a dumb brute for the last couple of movies and I think there is a lot of potential there. You could even get someone with star power to play the therapist. During this downtime, it might also be nice to have Stallone meet with Mickey Rourke’s character again to get perspective on his team splitting up and all that. It was kind of weird that we never got Rourke’s character again after the first movie and I don’t think it would be a heavy pull to have him give Stallone advice for a scene. Anyway, after those subplots, the mission is on and they have one final shot to stop the villain this time. The two sides come together to resolve their friction and they go and save the day in a big, Expendables style shootout. Boom! Franchise saved.

Thirty-two minutes. It's a strange feeling when you know that early in a film that you flat out hate it. You're either sickened beyond belief or laughing to yourself hysterically. In either instance the emotional investment in your time spent is out the window.
I saw this movie and it was PURE GARBAGE. John is not kidding. SPOILERS Megan Fox can't act (which is not news). 50 and Dolph sound like they were mumbling their lines. The dialogue was ridiculous. All the men were wear tactical gear and armor while Megan and the other lady are wear mid drift tank tops. Then they have Jason kill about 500 soilders by himself so why do you need a team? Thank goodness I have AMC Stubs plus so I didn't pay for that horrible movie.
1:12 I've surprisingly only walked out of 1 movie in my entire life & that was Air America in 1990, a comedy with Mel Gibson and Robert Downey Jr that wasn't that funny at all. Even Air America isn't anywhere near my bottom 5 of worst films I've ever seen in a theater, I've just had a strong enough resolve to power through those bad movies I paid to see until the end. But that movie night in 1990 me and the rest of my restless teenage friends who went to this were just bored shitless & we all just had a desire to be doing anything else but sitting through this movie not laughing so we left. Jason Goes To Hell in 1993 was nearly the second movie but between the 3 of us who went to see this garbage the only one of us who wanted to stay was the guy who drove lol
I generally enjoy your show but I’ve learned not to trust your movie reviews, our taste in movies is the complete opposite, I loved this movie and would recommend it. I however absolutely hated one of your top movies of the year, Joy Ride, and was the movie I walked out of, the raunchiness and humor was abysmal. And you don’t like Ashoka, which I enjoyed and many have said to be the return to what Star Wars was. Your taste in movies is clearly different than mine.
Nah bro this was terrible. I enjoyed more flash than this movie. Yes the visuals for flash were terrible. But at least it had a decent story. This expendables was terrible from everything visuals and story.
I have seen first 3 Expendables films especially 1 and 2 the most and being the best I felt as fun to see action stars from 80s and 90s together being a kid in that time fun for the nostalgia. The 2nd one when had Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis in larger roles and bring in Chuck Norris along with Jean Claude Van Damme as the main antagonist was fun to see. The 3rd film have seen numerous times and again have a big star Mel Gibson playing the antagonist was cool as stole the show in otherwise weaker film then first 2 films. I didn’t like in 3rd started to stray away from first film was about bringing in older actors like Stallone said in interviews he tried to bring in actors who had careers that been failing or to help them out. I don’t think I will ever actually see the 4th film in its entirety even though I have seen clips of it on UA-cam.

I wished I had walked out too. Every "twist", you saw coming a mile away.😂
I share your entire sentiments for this. What a miserable mess
Iko barely did anything, he was hardly threatening because Statham kicked his ass too fast which was unrealistic
I saw it last night. Late showing and he's 100% correct. It's a bad movie but it's not walk out bad. It's just much more of the same. Only a lot lamer and a lot dumber. It should have been a parody
Why did statam take megan fox to bed and leave her underwear on?
That Andy Garcia impression sounded like Bernie Sanders. I was half-expecting free nukes for everyone.
Straight to video and straight to the top of the Razzies.
Movies with staring 50 Cent, are never good, literally he has never made a good movie.
What about "Den Of Thieves"?
@@frankjohnson8424that was decent
I had Megan Fox down REALLY bad.
And the fact they hired a guy that makes fun of the disabled, the movie gets a down vote for that alone
She doesn't even go here 😂😂😂
I have to see this if it's this bad.
It's Hurt so much to see what they did to my boy iko uwais he was so so good in the Raid movies
First Indy, then Mission Impossible and now this, famous movie franchises are dying out
I can understand not liking this or Indiana Jones but Mission Impossible was pretty damn good. I wouldn't say the best of the franchise but definitely up there.
One question....why? 3 Expendables movies weren't enough? Sylvester Stallone just needs to stop with this franchise. Nope, I have no intention of seeing this waste of film.
Well given what John said the ending of the movie looks like we're going to get at least one more with Megan Fox as the leader of the team!!
@@EddieHenderson92 Oh I agree dead in the water
Bru why tf didn’t Stallone get actual action hero’s like Liam neeson Keanu reeves Tom cruise Denzel Washington why tf did they get 50 cent Megan fox and all these other non action hero’s literally wasted opportunity
agree but maybe there too expensive
They're too expensive and they don't wanna be in this trash
Most of these actors would be expensive and would demand creative control. They would have to change the title to The expensives.
Tom Cruise would cost more than the entire movie budget
I'm pretty sure they looked at the script and said bro. Are you kidding me? You wasted my time. I'm pretty sure none of them would waste their time unless you count the transformer movies for Megan Fox and get richer die. Trying with 50 cent along with a few made for video movies. There is no justification for them to technically be in this movie, but we all know that they are Sly Stallone's friends
Sly Stallone has crushed another Franchise . It’s hard to understand why because put the effort in , the film would of made millions as the other film in franchise have. Oh I must add why hasn’t anyone told 50 cents he cannot act ! Megan Fox see through tee shirt at the end 😂
50 cent can act but only as a Gangster - Limited options yes but he fits the black sterotype perfectly 😂
They didn't really kill Stallone off did they, wow this is going bomb so hard.
No they didn’t
This is what happens when u put big stars in 1 movie, bcuz they all want the spotlight, this movie should've introduced the expendables members families , and had them kidknapped , that story would've been better, way better
I 100% agree. There was nothing good about this movie, maybe for except 2 min of Jason Statham fighting
Don't hold back John..
What were the other 5 movies you walked out on?
I’m curious too 😂
But Jooohn , you ahve said we cant form an opinion of a movie without watching it all .hahahaha JK
For me I liked it, I’ll admit that it is my least favorite out of the franchise, but I don’t really understand why people are hating on it
I don't know why people like it. It just wasn't like the first 3. It wasn't fun to watch. Too Christmas-centric. Action was stale, dialogue and plot were grating at times.
@@crichton397 I liked Christmas as the main character this time around, for me I found it to be fun, not as fun as the rest but still fun, I do agree with you on the dialog tho
I would watch John and the crew do a Spoiler talk about everything wrong with the movie🤣 the movie is so bad that you just have to see it so you can laugh at it
Can’t be worse than the 3rd one, can it?
It is worse than the 3rd film
@@andromedagalaxynebula5751 oh god..
The 3rd one was actually the better one. Better characters no question
the whole squad didnt do shit just walked around doing nothing the whole movie an only jason did something
The raid, hands down one of the best modern action movies going!
This is so sad
The movie is about as bad as your sponsor placement
It wasn't great but it wasn't as bad as they are making it out to be. I saw Strays in theaters this weekend as well, before it left, and Strays was worse. 50 Cent can't act or even deliver lines at all though, even compared to the rest of the cast who aren't known for their acting.
50 Cent and Megan Fox is double duty worse 😂 She was also bad as the bat 🦇 lady Nitara from Mortal Kombat 1, she voice acted!!!
That shit was bad asf😂😂
Nah, The Lion King 2019 and The Last Airbender(2010) still hold that place and category, in my honest opinion.
@@noaha5379👎👎👎👎. That film was GARBAGE!
And Dragon Ball Evolution.
@@Hinshu85 Never saw that
@@chasehedges6775 Don't. It's embarassing.
the movie was trash and save your money to go watch Saw X
It was definitely the worst of all of them and I was honestly hoping they actually did kill Barney at the beginning because I don’t think there’s any reason to continue the franchise
Part 2 the most impressive expendable franchise movie ever made!👏 But without the very famous commits of their other very famous movie words in a very long sentence! My great inspiring message is out again! Have a very impressive beautiful 😍 day.
I hate myself for paying to watch the movie... 0/10. If you got a free ticket... BURN IT!!!
The person who gave you the ticket must really hate you and making you to watch the movie is an act of revenge.
People go to school to learn how to make movies like this
Expendables 5 starring Jake Paul 😂😂😂😂
And Dylan Mulvaney lol😅
At this point I wouldn’t be surprised lol Jfc
We need a movie starring Steven Seagal as the main villain, and Jake & Logan Paul as his henchmen.
Fine…you’re convinced me. I’ll watch it for you 😂
Thirty-two minutes. It's a strange feeling when you know that early in a film that you flat out hate it. You're either sickened beyond belief or laughing to yourself hysterically. In either instance the emotional investment in your time spent is out the window.
I beg to differ.
It's an AMAZING MOVIE!
For visual arts students. 😊
All the no-no's of movie making.
😂
I also walked out
@@blacksamurai-irs7rw nope I got a refund but nice try being a snarky prick
Need to see a Ryan George Pitch Meeting on this ASAP
*Sly should get the cast of Young Guns for The Expendables 5*
Jaja the cowboys version
I saw this movie and it was PURE GARBAGE. John is not kidding. SPOILERS Megan Fox can't act (which is not news). 50 and Dolph sound like they were mumbling their lines. The dialogue was ridiculous. All the men were wear tactical gear and armor while Megan and the other lady are wear mid drift tank tops. Then they have Jason kill about 500 soilders by himself so why do you need a team? Thank goodness I have AMC Stubs plus so I didn't pay for that horrible movie.
Wow strong words! Wonder what’s better, “The Roommate” or this one.
Yea I saw a video recently were he was praising the flash, I like him but I see he praises a lot of trash, either it’s bad taste or something else….
Nah bro this was terrible. I enjoyed more flash than this movie. Yes the visuals for flash were terrible. But at least it had a decent story. This expendables was terrible from everything visuals and story.
So no arnold, no bruce, no syvestor, no jet li ... the action stars we actually care about not in this film ... wth?
That was definitely not the worst movie ever not even close I actually enjoyed it 🤷🏻♂️
Not enough Megan Fox.
Worst of the franchise not all movies! Exaggerated review Campos!!
so tell us how you really felt about the expendables 4? 😂🤣😅
Dude, I could have saved you $15.00 and a trip to the theaters to tell you that the movie was going to be hot b🗑️
How can ray review movies when he sleeps all the time
Absolutely terrible. It’s like they tried to make it as bad as possible
The CGI and sets were so horrible.
I did the same after 30 min. of Fast X. My eyes were in pain from the awful editing alone. I'll be skipping this for sure.
I'm curious about the 5 other movies he has walked out on
@@johnyaxon__ good joke
Why is this a surprise? The trailers are absolutely atrocious
