My husband and I first date was at Applebee’s. Didn’t bother me one bit! He was the sweetest, kindest, most attentive, respectful gentlemen ever. We had a ball that night! He proposed 9 months later, We’ll be married 14 years on May 24th of this year. Now, he takes me to any restaurant his wallet can handle because he’s well off in his career, now. Ladies, pay more attention to the character and heart of the man, rather than what type of restaurant he’s taking you to. God blessed me with the best husband a girl could ever have!
I dated a guy who took me to the classiest resturant, valet parking and some of the best food I've ever tasted, I know his bill was nice. Then afterwards he tried to come on to me physically. I'll rather go to Applebees with a man who respects me continuously.

if your in your 20's thats an okay date...only been to chillis once..i prefer mom and pop places..I am in my 30's no applebes for me in NYC thats a test grown men play here you go along with that you will never elevate to a better meal once you do applebees 2for 20,coffee date,buffalo wild wild wings etc.The time i have had applebees was on break from a meeting and a grab the specail because i eat one for lunch and i take one home for dinner...If your not int NYC you might not understand but if you work in certain parts of the city thats like a lunch break meal or snack so a guy invite you there it wont end well because their are other other options but they want to embarasss you here, it might not have the same stigma outside of NYC.

When I first met my husband, we didn't even go out to a restaurant. He cooked me spaghetti and meatballs, we walked downtown ate outside. He was honest with me about not being able to afford to take me out. When he was able to take me out, he took me out to Broadway diner when we went out. I didn't care about where he took me. I only cared about the quality time.

I like to go on simple dates in the “beginning”...coffee, pizza, ice cream etc. There is less pressure, less expectations and it allows you to really get to know the person.
women have to put themselves together for a date ,hair makeup,nails,clothes so for me to leave my house for coffee which is less than $5 and ice cream which i have in my fridge...even in highschool my first date was Dallas BBQ in Manhattan. Nothing is wrong with going on simple dates in the beginning to build rapport and to see if you actually like him without the glitz and glam. Something standard like that shouldn't be entitled special treatment. Second, you don't need an elaborate expensive date to get to know somebody. Especially when it's the first few dates. As you build a better connection to the person the dates should get better as time goes on. Whether it's a high school guy or a grown successful man, he doesn't know you from a hole in the wall. His main objective should be to get to know you, not impress you financially.

My daughter that is 7 doesn’t like Applebee’s and it has nothing to do with boogie... the food and drinks are horrible and we are not burger eaters...we rather go to a mom/pop restaurant than chain restaurants...The cheap place we go to in NYC is BBQ since my Daugther like ribs....I am a parent that if I have steak my daughter eating steak and the same for seafood she’s not eating chicken tenders and fries... we West Indian do we not into burger joints we like rice,chicken,spring salad etc

I live in a city, I like when a guy takes the initiative to pick a cool, unique spot in the city. This is a good workaround for guys because some hip and trendy places in your city might not be expensive, but will have a cute vibe and that's what I like. Any chain restaurant is really not a vibe unless it is super high end. Would rather be at a less expensive place with a unique stamp

In Atlanta , they’re are waaaay to many local restaurants to choose from besides applebees for the same price ,but better quality ... it gives lazy vibes😕. I wouldn’t necessarily be upset though, I would just suggest a different restaurant.
Exactly! We have Jamaican restaurants, Italian restaurants, Cuban restaurants etc. If you can’t find something of better quality, but in the same price range of Chillis, I’m going to assume that you’re lazy or just dating to get to the finish line as quickly as possible.
I did have a man take me to TGIFriday once. Then he asked me if I had a coupon. That was our first and last date. We drove our own cars. When I walked outside his car had so much junk in it. Just pure chaos. Never again...lol.

When I saw this I HOLLERED because the guy I’m dating now suggested Applebee’s when we first went to lunch and I did say “how about somewhere else”? LOL 😂 BUT! BUT!!!! It was because at the time I no longer ate at Applebee’s personally. And the place I suggested wasn’t Cheesecake either. I suggested a place called “Flower Child” because it’s healthier compared Cleaner and overall nicer. AND it was right across the parking lot from Applebee’s so I’m no way inconvenient or excessive. But I still did NOT want to go to Applebee’s LOL He actually makes six figures too! LOL Now he takes me to some of the BEST steak restaurants in town by his own suggestion. Sometimes some men will test you by taking you to McDonald's, KFC, Popeyes, or other fast food restaurants just to see what your reaction will be! My personal opinion is, I would go to all 3 restaurants cause I just may miss out on my Boaz being too high maintenance! I'd order from fast food menu sooooo fast his head would spin!😂

Great message, the most important is how a man treats you, the time, attention, respect and care he offers you and how much work he puts in to see you happy. It takes nothing for a rich man to pay for expensive places and things, but that doesn't say anything about his character or care for you, so don't be impressed and captivated by the wrong things while missing out on the important ones. Any man who will care for you and will want to make you happy will do his best to improve his choices of restaurants and food as he gets to know you and your taste; and that effort to please you is more attractive than any stack of money a rich man could spend on you. Please understand that a person giving you something that makes no difference for them if they lose it, means nothing, while someone doing his best and giving his all even if that means $20, means so much more, but don't expect him to share or guess your taste from the 1st date, just teach him what you like and pay attention to the real important aspects.

Haven't been to Applebee's in years, but the mozzarella sticks appetizer were the best!!! I'm a health-concious, hypergamous woman whose had dates at various kinds of restaurants around the world. It's not about the restaurant per se, but rather knowing how to read the menu for the best drinks, appetizer, meal, and desert, which regardless of the restaurant is a nice bill in and out itself. My spirit has to feel right about the man, which is more important than the namebrand restaurant that is typically overrated anyway.
@@TonyGaskins Golden Corral has an all-you-can-eat buffet for $9.99. They serve all types of meats, seafood, rice...American food. I remember wanting to eat there with my boyfriend (at the time). We had a date night. I lived in Poughkeepsie New York then. We drove an hour and a half north to Albany from there just to eat at Golden Corral. Bangin'!! 😋 😋 Now there is one in Poughkeepsie, NY, and in other locations around New York. I'm sure they have a franchise in Florida.

This is a good workaround for guys because some hip and trendy places in your city might not be expensive, but will have a cute vibe and that's what I like. It’s not about the money. If Applebees, I will only order a water. Applebees, doesn’t agree with my stomach. I ate there in my 20’s and 30’s. I prefer a walk in the park, tennis, or hiking. I can feed myself. I am really concerned about the conversation, not the food.

Great message, the most important is how a man treats you, the time, attention, respect and care he offers you and how much work he puts in to see you happy. It takes nothing for a rich man to pay for expensive places and things, but that doesn't say anything about his character or care for you, so don't be impressed and captivated by the wrong things while missing out on the important ones. Any man who will care for you and will want to make you happy will do his best to improve his choices of restaurants and food as he gets to know you and your taste; and that effort to please you is more attractive than any stack of money a rich man could spend on you. Please understand that a person giving you something that makes no difference for them if they lose it, means nothing, while someone doing his best and giving his all even if that means $20, means so much more, but don't expect him to share or guess your taste from the 1st date, just teach him what you like and pay attention to the real important aspects.

I guess I kinda see both sides, a female friend of mine said we should meet up at Applebee’s and I kindly declined and suggested green turtle- I wasn’t about to put an outfit on and do my make up to sit in no Applebee’s 😂but I guess from the dating side of things, if the guy takes you to Applebee’s and the date is lovely & you both enjoy each other’s company, he’ll probably ask to take you out again & probably to a nicer restaurant or maybe this time you suggest a nicer restaurant

I'd rather get some food at the Jamaican spot...than have Applebee's...I would enjoy that more with the good company...but...I have to draw the line with the fast food places...not a fan...you can get Indian, Thai, Vietnames, Middle Eastern food which are good and inexpensive food with interesting surroundings...without spending a fortune on some piece of meat!...again reasonable cost, interesting food with the good company...win win...😊

I'm a health-concious, hypergamous woman whose had dates at various kinds of restaurants around the world. It's not about the restaurant per se, but rather knowing how to read the menu for the best drinks, appetizer, meal, and desert, which regardless of the restaurant is a nice bill in and out itself. My spirit has to feel right about the man, which is more important than the namebrand restaurant that is typically overrated anyway.

@@TonyGaskins Golden Corral has an all-you-can-eat buffet for $9.99. They serve all types of meats, seafood, rice...American food. I remember wanting to eat there with my boyfriend (at the time). We had a date night. I lived in Poughkeepsie New York then. We drove an hour and a half north to Albany from there just to eat at Golden Corral. Bangin'!! 😋 😋 Now there is one in Poughkeepsie, NY, and in other locations around New York. I'm sure they have a franchise in Florida.
For me it’s not a class thing. I just think Applebee’s just has terrible food. I would gladly go to TGI Fridays or Olive Garden.
