  • A MIXED MEDIA PAINTING
    With alcohol ink and posca markers.
    Overworking... when is it too much.... when do you need to stop.
    It is so easy to overwork and do to much. I find this to be true with most types op paintings - done with acrylics, alcohol ink and more - but especially when I am doing any kind of abstract mixed media painting.
    Like I mentioned in the video, I do think I over did it, but after some thinking... I kind of like it anyway. How much do you struggle with overworking you're paintings...?
    Mixed media can be so much fun - with this I "only" used markers and alcohol ink, but I think is was enough to make it really interesting.
    I absolutely love posca markers, especially for drawing on alcohol ink. There are so many colors, you can always find one that matches your painting.
    In this tutorial I used Nara paper, grain alcohol and copic ink - BG 09 and RV 69. And of course Piñata Brass.
    If you would like to see some more alcohol ink tutorials, both for beginners and more advanced, here are some videos that I thought you might like and hopefully find useful:

    Love this piece!! The Posca pens really added something beautiful and unique. They add a "flowing" bit to the piece. If you know what I mean. Congratulations on the 10K!! I think we all appreciate your style and how you teach. I know I DO!!
    I always forget I can use my finger to affect the ink. Like you do. Alcohol ink is not easy. I'm new to it and still practicing. I guess practice is the KEY!! Like everything.
    I love your work and your style. And am enjoying your channel. I'm learning a lot from you. Thanks for the video. Austin,TX USA

      (I don’t have 10 K yes, but I’m closing in 😊 ) and yes, remember to use your fingers to guide the ink, it really makes a big difference

    Great video. You really explain processes so well. Yes, I preferred the piece before markers were added, especially the black. The gold was a nice touch. I like white space so… You are very talented!

    I love your videos! Always learning from you. Especially how to do the whispy effects. By the way my Grandmother was Danish. My great grandmother (maiden name Rasmussen) was from Fjelde, Musse, Maribo, Danmark and great grandfather (Olsen) was from Kettinge, Maribo, Danmark. Family tree goes back to the 1600s with many other names like Hansen (I don’t know if that is what the H stands for in your name) and locations. So we may be related! Ha!

      @randihart5731  2 роки тому

      Thank you very much ❤️ the world is a small place sometimes…. Fun if we were related 🤩 I live about an hour and a half from Maribo 👍Rasmussen, Olsen and Hansen are some of the most common names in Denmark 🇩🇰 my last name is Hedesmann, which is a very uncommon name. (One of a kind, I love that LOL )

      @@randihart5731 that is a great name! So many of my maternal ancestors last names of course were someone’s daughter. Boesdatter, Christensdatter, Olesdatter, Pedersdatter. I doubt that tradition still exists. Really love your art!

    • @randihart5731
      @randihart5731  2 роки тому

      No that doesn’t really exist anymore, but Hansen and Olsen are still going strong LOL 😂

    Beautiful work. I am mesmerized as I watch your videos. What setting do you use on your hairdryer? I’m finding that my alcohol always drys too soon. Any recommendation on how I can correct this.

    • @randihart5731
      @randihart5731  2 роки тому

      Thank you 😊 I use the lowest setting and lowest heat. And yes it can dry a bit fast with a hairdryer. You could try adding a bit more alcohol- or use a bulb blower or airbrush to get cool air instead. Hope it helps

    Hej Randi 😀
    Er virkelig betaget af dine kreationer! De er super flotte 😍
    Har selv lige investeret i alkohol ink og synes godt nok det er noget af en kamel at sluge 😂
    Fik 24 farver i gave og tænker lidt over om der er forskel på kvaliteten? Selvom jeg bruger en enkelt dråbe, så flyder det ud og alt hvad jeg laver bliver bare trælst at se på 😂
    Kan du evt anbefale et mærke? 😀
