Mr.Goodkat From what I understand the joke is that the poor guy was so focused on his things that he didn't even notice the hand gestures.
El Dromedario no its about racism
@@eldromedario3315 No, he was upset with Nigel Short because Short was one of the players to sign the letter to Kramnik urging him to continue against Topalov and basically agreeing that Topalov was a cheater during the toiletgate controversy. This player that didn't shake hands was a teammate of Topalov's. Before this game, there was a rule that a player that refuses to shake hands gets a forfeit. Short got up to complain and he was given the win by forfeit. Then they realized that that wasn't the rule any more but the player could be made to shake. So they played after shaking hands and Short won.
He left to complain to the director and first got a win by forfeit. Then they realized that wasn't the rule any more so they played after shaking and Short won.

@Peter Metz it was a joke
They were playing checkers.

Magnus Carlsen sleeping against Anand is priceless.
But I didn't got the context , did Carlsen win that's why he slept or just to take a break?

1:42 And the moment with Ivanchuk and Jobava play russian checkers (with chess pieses) on Rapid Championship is not the whole story. After Ivanchuk take the first place and become a World Rapid Champion, he back to his checkers game with Jobava and win in about two or three moves :-) Because Ivanchuk is not only strong chess supergrandmaster, but strong checkers player too :-)
He played out the winning combo after smelling those flowers :)

4:33 Organizers don't learn from their mistakes. They continue to insist that armageddon is a playable version of the game despite so much evidence to the contrary.
No increment in general! A couple moves were made where black's peices were entirely fallen and play stupidly continues. Its not even chess at that point.
steamroller82 its fine online at least.
online it may be ok but its not ok over the board. its pathetic and ridiculous
Nope! White hit the clock without correcting the piece that fell over. That's totally not allowed. White must forfeit. The game does work in time scrambles. You must correct fallen pieces on your own time. That's the rule. A violation results in a loss of game. This is a violation. White lost the game.
