Ding Liren - the World Chess Champion That we never really saw much of. Where's that domination that the WCC brings to the table when they play against others?
Garry, Kramnik, Anand, Magnus - they have shown great domination during their reign as World Chess Champions, they have been more visible and I believe they've done a great job in promoting Chess, participated in countless tournaments. I never saw much of Ding after his win at WCC. I understand he had some issues? he was dealing with. But his performance at Tata's tournament too, not anything noteworthy or noticeable. @@abhilashpradhan7671 that one too but it was so predictable. They did miss quite a lot of nice and incredible moments, Abasov making it to the Candidates was spectacular

Its always reassuring to see people like Carlsen losing their queen. We are not the only ones who suffer that way 😆 ofcourse our frequency is considerably higher than Carlsen.
When he won, everybody was congratulating him. Now he's just started to play again after months of rest and not playing, he's getting criticized. Relax. Go back and watch the streams of GMs when he won, everybody said he was a deserving World Champion.
Nepo knocking over the Chess pieces is one of the most heartbreaking moments in recent memory.
Fr bro😢
Fr 🥲
The thing that indeed makes that moment THE most heartbreaking, I would say is Liren's reaction to winning. It haunts me! 💔
@@patrickwinther you can see in that moment what it really meant to them & how drained Ding was by the entire tournament.
Nepo losing was ok, people couldn't have handled ding losing. Nepo got the whole Russia supporting him but nobody cares about chess in china
At 7:19 Anish going "he mouseslipped" on the board is too funny
I think he play g3 but the person moving the pieces for the screen made a mistake and put h3

They skipped World Rapid & Blitz Championships
Magnus is chess.
Nope the best moment was exactly the last one Nepo touching his pieces in this heartbraking moment@@abhilashpradhan7671
Anish winning Tata didn't get a run. Hikaru in Norway. Fabi in St Louis?? - Three of the top performances of the year imo.
Anish didn't win Tata Steel, it was Wei Yi
@@eg3nd6in 2023 Anish did. 2024 was Yi.

I'll never forget Ding's win. Iconic
Pogchamps 5 was so cursed
the impact that they did in chess is crazy!
how could you not include magnus clip with pragg after he defeated nakamura
The Moment where there's Queen vs 2 Rooks + Bishop was drama moment.
Those two players were playing like 500 elo chess.🤣🤣🤣🤣
T1 and XQC teaming up on Squeex is hilarious. They're talking trash, then suddenly its just like "Oh yeah, that guy sucks."
Ding being champion is by far the best chess moment of 2023
why didnt frank play a different move here? 6:38 idk him, but he must be a good player. he would have easily seen royal fork. no?
