I think all Regigigas needs to be slightly more viable (and it doesnt necessarily make it amazing) is one of two things, either keep Slow Start on 5 turns BUT they dont reset on switches and one it gets its act together it stays like that, OR keep the resetting on switches but lower it to 3 turns.

When I attended both the Brisbane and Melbourne regionals this season, I ended up bringing an Uxie too the side event at both events. Instead of forcing it to be Cresselia lite, I made it a setup sweeper with the goal of dealing solid damage while taking nothing in return, since you can use Mystical Power to eventually get the damage output. In Reg E, I used Wolfes Snorlax/Kommo-o team as a base but swapped the trick room component for Uxie. Clefairy ended up being a crazy good partner as it let Uxie stay healthy and farm boosts, and when Uxie had a bad MU, Kommo-o gets a free win. In Reg F however I used Calm Mind Uxie and Comfey, which made Uxie much harder to kill and it was easier to keep it healthy for its sweep. In MUs, it couldnt do anything, I found DDance Gouging Fire to complement Uxies weaknesses. Ended up getting 12th at Brisbanes Side Event and 3rd at Melbournes with the guy. So I gotta say, if Cress wasnt busted, this guy has sauce
I feel like an appropriate buff for Okidogi is to make it so that Guard Dog not only gives Okidogi a buff when intimidated but it also prevents it’s partner from being intimidated

I’ll tell you who WILL be bad in the future, Terapagos. When Terastallisation gets removed, and Terapagos loses access to its Stellar Form, it’s gonna be one of the most mid legendary Pokémon out there

@Zarugoza5969 I mean, with most legendaries you can only get one of them, same with mythicals. Ultra beats can be caught a few times but still they’re pretty much on the same level as legendaries
the way i see it, if you can only get one of a mon in any given playthrough(don't say there's two koraidon you know what i mean), and it's not a starter, then it's a legendary ultra beasts are not legendaries
I didn't know you could get ultra beasts multiple times, never played gen 7. That does put them closer to paradox mons than I thought, and IG I'll label those two groups the legendaryish Pokemon -- high BSTs and can't be bred
14:53 hear me out, Guzzlord on trickroom with heavy slam, heat crash, dragon rush, and crunch, I was a menace with this team on showdown, he had a check for every Tapu and technically out sped them all, and using the least viable ultra beast and using it to KO a Tapu caused mental damage to my opponents. Guzzlord my beloved.
In your previous video on this topic, you brought up that Zamazenta is an amazing support Pokemon, but ends up bad because restricted slots are for the Pokemon you support, not the Pokemon that support. If you were allowed to use any six Pokemon you wanted, do you think Zamazenta would start to see a lot of usage for its supportive capabilities? I think it would -- this format would be very similar to Smogon Doubles Ubers, where Zamazenta is one of the most used Pokemon, and for good reason I hope a format like SwSh series 13 happens again where Zamazenta can shine (I'm not sure how much it was used during series 13, but I believe a large part of why it wasn't used that much is because of Zacian beating it and no Body Press. But now that Zacian has been nerfed, Calyrex-Shadow, which Zamazenta beats, is (probably) the strongest Pokemon)
@@racelina338… no? Arceus has 120 points in every stat. 720 in total. This buffed Sylvally would have 100 points in every stat. 600 in total. Bringing it on par with a pseudo-legendary. And I don’t know if you noticed this, but 720 > 600
One thing I'd do to buff Ice Types would be giving them a couple more resistances. Maybe have them resist Water but be weak to Scald, similar to how Waters resist Ice but are weak to Freeze Dry. And also have them resist maybe Grass and/or Flying. Not the best buff, but it's something.
I know this is old, and i I too do think that ice type needs resistance buffs just like rock the original durable typing. I do think that water resistance would be the one, then also fairy and ghost maybe, ice is cold, fairy is life magic so and fire and ice resisting it makes sense in my opinion, also ghost being cold afterlife right? Ice and ghost resisting each other would make sense. Grass needs no more nerfs tho so i would not give ice resistance to it for that reason, as there are other options, even the flying one that you mentioned. Also if scald would work any differently to ice types then scorching sands should work differently on grass, but both of these moves need their power to be lowered to 60 or maybe even to 50. And new special non contactong water move with 80 and sp. defence drop chance to be added to the game. Its like flash cannon for water.
@@turkoositerapsidi Not a bad idea. Ice resisting Water, Fairy, and I'd say Dragon instead in addition to itself would actually be kinda huge. The reason for Dragon: even with Fairy types, Dragons are still absurd. Even adding a typing that was outright immune to Dragon barely slowed them down.

You could honestly make the case for putting Solgaleo on this list: its base Attack of 137 is great, it has respectable bulk, is immune to Intimidate thanks to Full Metal Body and has a very colorful movepool including recovery in Morning Sun and utility in Helping Hand and Trick Room. The problem is that it is wholly outclassesd by Dusk Mane Necrozma. Incredible bulk further bolstered by Prism Armor reducing supper effective damage, is far stronger sitting at base 157 Attack and can boost with Dragon Dance.
The only advantage Bulu had over Rillaboom was having Horn Leech, which was a much bigger and immediate recovery option over the terrain. Even Drain Punch doesn't make up the difference on the recovery either. That said, Rillaboom still outclasses Bulu is every other way.
Honestly why can't game freak just give regigigas a second ability to swap to that's basically the opposite of slow start where he has 1.3 extra attack for 5 turns, or a cumulative of 3 or 2 turns before he gets a permanent 1.3 attack boost? They did him so dirty that in pokemon legends arceus where there were no abilities they still forced slow start upon him.
I have actually been having a lot of success in reg F with Fezandipiti and Archaludon. Tail slap with loaded dice activates stamina boost up to 3.5-4x. Light screen patches Archaludon's low Sp. Def. And then I run tailwind and icy wind for speed control. Icy wind poisons a lot of the time.
Actually ultra beasts are no longer considered legendary as of scarlet and violet, as they changed their status in Pokemon home during it, probably to bring paradox Pokemon to a same sort of status as ub's.
ive found great success with uxie. spaming mystical powers after using amnesia with leftovers (if against sp atk), then tera fairy draining kiss when i need to, regaining a ton of health from the sp atk boosts from mystical power. 4th move either being thunderbolt for good type coverage (especially because steel resists psychic and fairy), or ally switch for even better defense. usually go t bolt because it already has amazing natural bulk- 130 of each defense and special defense is insane pair it with a fake out, thunder wave, parting shot grimsnarl and an intimidater to reduce the damage received so to it can stay healthy and continue to give itself sp atk boosts. its base sp atk (75) is very low for a legend, but after 3-4 boosts even draining kisses will start to one shot
Articuno must have heard this, because its part in the video really poorly aged. Only a 2nd place? Heck, he won just a few weeks after a big tournament xD
It's funny, cause Raikou, Azelf, and Tornadus T are all solid in singles. Tornadus T is still the weakest cause of how good Landorous and Thundurus are historically, but it's still good. Raikou is a solid special attacker, and Azelf is the 2nd best suicide lead in the format after Deoxys.
i consider ultra beasts and paradoxes (which might not be correct) to be "sub-legendaries" because they're presented as legendary in their game stories, and they have the stats to hold up

Articuno is like one of the best pokemon in japanese Red & Green but it also had an actual Special Attack and Blizzard was completely busted in that game (especially in a 3v3 format)
It's interesting, most of these pokemon are also bad in Pokemon Go, except for Guzzlord who's #28 in great league and #20 in ultra league. In Pokemon Go, bulk is super important since HP and Stamina count less towards combat power than Attack. Great league is limited to 1500cp and ultra is limited to 2500cp, and Guzzlord only gets to 3264 since its HP stat is so absurdly high. I wonder if Wo Chien will see play since bug type is rare in ultra and master league, and it's a bulky mon.
While not vgc, but instead draft, Silvally is very strong if Arceus is banned (and it is in most.) Infinite typings you can choose based off the opponents roster+your team. Kinda hope that when we get to Gen 10, a lot of these Pokemon will get the love they deserve with new movesets, abilities and/or stat adjustments to make them viable
Unless it's regigigas.
@@IkanaCanyon7 yes, but the issue is not whether they can fix it, but of whether they want to. Remember they intentionally gave it slow start in a game without abilities.
@@sinteleon To be fair, Regigigas wouldn't be fair in a game without abilities. I could see them buffing it slightly in new games, just slightly though.
@@Endershock1678 It's also a postgame only mon in a non-competitive format, where arceus itself also exists.
You have my respect for this. This group deserves love.
That articuno slander didn't age that well:D
Still a niche pick tho
0:12 Seeing "wake up ethan" really sent my system into shock lmao
YOU DID IT AGAIN WITH THE RE:ZERO NOISE A H H H H H H
It’s kinda fun to try to make some of these work… except regice. That thing is just an abomination.
Works in gen 3 OU
10:58 Guess who just won a regionals...
Articuno really said “Nah I think I’ll win.
I feel like an appropriate buff for Okidogi is to make it so that Guard Dog not only gives Okidogi a buff when intimidated but it also prevents it’s partner from being intimidated
Grass Glide Rillaboom was the most unbalanced part of gen 8, like the base power nerf was sooooooo long overdue.
Gen 8 rilla was a demon. Its basically if Golisopod could spam STAB first impression 5-8 turns in a row, but also get leftovers and click a move stronger than STAB Giga impact.
Oh, and you’re immune to powder moves and learn fake out.

"Azelf's biggest role in competitive is blowing itself up"
that caught me off guard XD
I’ll tell you who WILL be bad in the future, Terapagos. When Terastallisation gets removed, and Terapagos loses access to its Stellar Form, it’s gonna be one of the most mid legendary Pokémon out there
Assuming it doesn't get a unique item and/or ability change to compensate for changes.
Tbh even still it will be a pain in the ass to take down because of how tera shell works
It would be neat if Terapagos gained an alternative way to access its tera form (that or Terastalization becomes the main stay gimmick because of Briar and we gucci)
Replace “will” with “is” and replace “future” with “present”
@GravityIsFalling I mean, it's pretty good. Terapagos is just also rather predictable since it's a tera hog.
Ultra Necrozma situation
I loved the way he cleanly transitioned between each mon
"articuno is one of the worst legendaries of all time"
Articuno in the Utrecht regional:
I like to think that Legendary is a broad term that contains the likes of Mythicals and Ultra Beasts
But it's not lol
@Zarugoza5969 I mean, with most legendaries you can only get one of them, same with mythicals. Ultra beats can be caught a few times but still they’re pretty much on the same level as legendaries
the way i see it, if you can only get one of a mon in any given playthrough(don't say there's two koraidon you know what i mean), and it's not a starter, then it's a legendary
ultra beasts are not legendaries
I didn't know you could get ultra beasts multiple times, never played gen 7. That does put them closer to paradox mons than I thought, and IG I'll label those two groups the legendaryish Pokemon -- high BSTs and can't be bred
@@MelodyLumina You can get 2 solgaleo/lunala in sm and usum
14:53 hear me out, Guzzlord on trickroom with heavy slam, heat crash, dragon rush, and crunch, I was a menace with this team on showdown, he had a check for every Tapu and technically out sped them all, and using the least viable ultra beast and using it to KO a Tapu caused mental damage to my opponents. Guzzlord my beloved.
Pressure sure tapu fini and koko both live and one shot back
I find it really insane how the Paradox Pokemon feel much more like legendaries than the actual legendaries.
The rant against the Lake Trio sounded personal lmao
In your previous video on this topic, you brought up that Zamazenta is an amazing support Pokemon, but ends up bad because restricted slots are for the Pokemon you support, not the Pokemon that support. If you were allowed to use any six Pokemon you wanted, do you think Zamazenta would start to see a lot of usage for its supportive capabilities? I think it would -- this format would be very similar to Smogon Doubles Ubers, where Zamazenta is one of the most used Pokemon, and for good reason
I hope a format like SwSh series 13 happens again where Zamazenta can shine (I'm not sure how much it was used during series 13, but I believe a large part of why it wasn't used that much is because of Zacian beating it and no Body Press. But now that Zacian has been nerfed, Calyrex-Shadow, which Zamazenta beats, is (probably) the strongest Pokemon)
I’d love to see a memory buff on Sylvalley.
Same, and also add 5 points to all it's stats
It's no alley, it's an ally.
@@AuraStrikeAcethat would remove the point of it being a weaker arceus
Ice needs more resists. Make it resist water and fairy and it’s perfect (also Kyurem becomes the strongest restricted Pokémon with that change lol)
@@Zac_Frost Yeah. Then ice typing would be beneficial for Pokémon to have like ice dragon type Pokémon for example.
@@turkoositerapsidi Yeah. Baxcalibur would be even more insane than it is now. XD
4:02 The legendary trio with the best designs and lore get dissapointing stat spreads and utility, while the legendary trio with the worst designs and most boring lore get great stat spreads, utility, amazing abilities, and alternate forms.
It’s a sad life as a casual competitive pokemon player :(
InSANE transitions in this video man! Huge fan of the super edited content
The thing that annoys me about Silvally the most is the fact they made all its stats 95 instead of just making it 100 across the board like a bunch of other Legendaries.
Hoping and praying for my boy Silvally to get more buffs.
Sylvally is a Legendary? That’s dumb.
@@NokoTheTaco same concept as mewtwo
both were created in a lab

Why?

Ha! Ha! A SHOCKER.
Don’t know I’m busy spoiling my self
I still can’t get over the fact that in a game without abilities, they HARDCODED IN regigigas’s slow start, just to make sure it never received any long-deserved viability.

Shout outs to Silvally being the only non-starter pokemon to learn a pledge move (and only Grass Pledge for some reason). I remember a guy topped a regional in gen 8 with a Water/Grass Pledge offense using Inteleon for Water Pledge

75%? What the actual fuck 😂
when he said to double check the subscribe, i thought "nah, I'm in the good side here". I was not. :')
I am sorry, uncle Moxie, now it's done :')
I had a separate video for restricted pokemon
And then Articuno won a regional
3:23 is a very funny gif
That thumbnail is so good, the yellow and pink being SpongeBob and Patrick and the green for squidward 😂
Rillaboom is also the buff gay male equivalent of Incineroar
The only advantage Bulu had over Rillaboom was having Horn Leech, which was a much bigger and immediate recovery option over the terrain. Even Drain Punch doesn't make up the difference on the recovery either. That said, Rillaboom still outclasses Bulu is every other way.
13:22 That snail *needs* to Win a Local Championship 🐌🥇
Honestly why can't game freak just give regigigas a second ability to swap to that's basically the opposite of slow start where he has 1.3 extra attack for 5 turns, or a cumulative of 3 or 2 turns before he gets a permanent 1.3 attack boost?
They did him so dirty that in pokemon legends arceus where there were no abilities they still forced slow start upon him.
Its so interesting to see the differences between singles and double. Seeing Torn T being here is crazy considering how it is in singles
Don't ever let the Wo-Chien dream die my guy
Silvaly got me my mustard shirt from the dojo by swords dancing and plate swapping between the challenges lol.
I love that guy
Then there are the legendaries that are too powerful.
Edit: The steamed ham memes are everywhere!!
I don't do competitive. That's for my brother, Azelf.
Azelf is homeless, get your brother some financial aid
@KR-wl5yd He’s staying in my lake for now until his lake fills up again.
Ummmmm actuallyyyy ultra beasts are technically legendaries also what is a restricted Pokémon
Smh I was gonna comment his 😭😭😊
@@MB26535 ah I see thanks for clearing that up
Actually ultra beasts are no longer considered legendary as of scarlet and violet, as they changed their status in Pokemon home during it, probably to bring paradox Pokemon to a same sort of status as ub's.
Im sick of trying
Tied of crying
Yeah im smiling
But inside im * anime guzzlord cry *
ive found great success with uxie.
spaming mystical powers after using amnesia with leftovers (if against sp atk), then tera fairy draining kiss when i need to, regaining a ton of health from the sp atk boosts from mystical power. 4th move either being thunderbolt for good type coverage (especially because steel resists psychic and fairy), or ally switch for even better defense. usually go t bolt because it already has amazing natural bulk- 130 of each defense and special defense is insane
pair it with a fake out, thunder wave, parting shot grimsnarl and an intimidater to reduce the damage received so to it can stay healthy and continue to give itself sp atk boosts. its base sp atk (75) is very low for a legend, but after 3-4 boosts even draining kisses will start to one shot
For some reason the thumbnail made me really emotional, good job artist
I feel like i might cry why is this making me so emotional😢😢😢
Articuno must have heard this, because its part in the video really poorly aged. Only a 2nd place? Heck, he won just a few weeks after a big tournament xD
Honestly, that ice horse deserve to be bad after what it did in Gen 8.
It's funny, cause Raikou, Azelf, and Tornadus T are all solid in singles. Tornadus T is still the weakest cause of how good Landorous and Thundurus are historically, but it's still good. Raikou is a solid special attacker, and Azelf is the 2nd best suicide lead in the format after Deoxys.
i consider ultra beasts and paradoxes (which might not be correct) to be "sub-legendaries" because they're presented as legendary in their game stories, and they have the stats to hold up
Time to start another controversy. Type: Null and Silvally aren’t legendary. They’re categorized just as “Special Pokémon” in the Alola dex
Type: Null and Sylvally are Legendary, that's just a straight up canon fact.
This isn't "starting a controversy", this is just spreading misinformation
it's not controversial if it's misinformed. there's no leg room to argue, it's just incorrect

Mythical were different at one point but you can get alot of them in game now. Its more that they got assimilated by legendaries.
“Our favourites aren’t always that great”
People who’s favourite is Inciniroar:
Guzzlord would be much better if it got a Head Smash-like move that would let it take advantage of its gargantuan HP to soak up recoil.
It's so wild to hear you saying that tornadus-t is bad considering how amazing it is in singles
Silvally (and I guess Type: Null by proxy) is what you get when you look at Arceus, and decide: what if I take away _everything_ that makes this thing viable. Recovery? Gone. Priority moves? Gone. Calm Mind? Gone. Freaking Earthquake? Hope you don't want to run a physical set (even though Multi-Attack is physical and it _at least_ has Swords Dance - take that, Solgaleo!).
Gotta say, the transitions onto each pokemon was flawless, bringing up the next one as a comparison
As someone whos favourite pokemon out of their respective groups are raikou, bulu, and wo chien, this is truly a tragedy :(
The cursed knowledge for Silvally is that it is able to learn grass pledge
All three pledges in gen 7, but only grass pledge in gen 8
raikous purpose is imo to be a weatherball user. thats cool too cause you can have the savest rock move or a strong fire/water/ice move.
but to be fair idk where it can use that potential well.
"Is game freak stupid?"
Yes. I thought we all knew that
He forgot to mention the joke of Glastrier (glass-tryer(?) not having eyes- as if it were a dumb animal which tried eating glass- and now it has glass covering its head… Spectrier (speck(?)/specs(as in spectacles)(?)-tryer)- dying, becoming ghost type from eating… a speck.
Articuno is like one of the best pokemon in japanese Red & Green but it also had an actual Special Attack and Blizzard was completely busted in that game (especially in a 3v3 format)
Once again, i use Technician Fez in singles. Swords Dance, Double Kick, Dual Wingbeat, Poison Tail. Takes a buncha mons by surprise
IDK why "Give that boy body press" is so funny.
It's not even a joke, but the way you say it it's so funny.
It's honestly kind of silly that fezandipiti is still only the 2nd-best poison/fairy type
While not vgc, but instead draft, Silvally is very strong if Arceus is banned (and it is in most.) Infinite typings you can choose based off the opponents roster+your team. I'm currently running one in a draft league, and my Fire Silvally straight up got 4 kills in one game (Multi Attack, Tera Blast with Tera Grass, Swords Dance, Dragon Claw)
