That's a fantastic job and the colour is spot on thanks for sharing your time and skill and remember stay safe and make more great videos thanks again 🍺🍺👍👍🇬🇧
G’day bud, what happened, no video for two years? Nice save on that little Carter, it was a lot of work but you enjoyed doing it didn’t you. I like the finish you put on it. Do you know much about it as I collect and restore Australian made tools so I may be able to give you some info if you want it. I’m figuring your up in Queensland as it’s to bloody cold down here to be in short right now. Cheers Stuart, Canberra 🥶🥶🥶
Thanks Stuart. You nailed it, I am Brisbane based. My kids put a stop to my youtube antics but they are getting old enough to not need 900% of my attention:) So back to what I enjoy (Machining and restoring). The only info I can find is what I google search or from the old blokes at work. Got some other projects waiting and more than happy for info. Its all a learning experience and I would be silly to turn anything away
@@thelittleshopaustralia4733 Hi Mint, your CT 3 is a Carter Tools 3” and was made by Dawn, in fact Dawn made all of Carter’s vices. Carter used to be cast onto the side of their vices but when Dawn changed the design of their vices in the mid 70’s the Carter was changed to CT. Carter also had a full range of g clamps from 2” to 12” in two distinct styles, one style has a curved back which gives a wider opening between the screw thread and the back edge of the clamp and forms a “C” shape and the other style has a straight back which makes the clamps quite narrow. There were a whole range of other tools by Carter but I don’t know if they actually made any of their own. While I will collect any tool that I like, I tend to specialise in Aussie made G clamps and now I’ve added F clamps and sash clamps as well as vices. I hope this helps, cheers Stuart.
