Hoyt Satori Review

- I had the pleasure to purchase this Satori and take it with me to Denton Hill, PA for 2019 ETAR. ETAR was the perfect place to test this bow ans figure out what worked best as far as a hunting set up.
The short review is:
If you are in the market for a higher end traditional type bow then the Satori should be on that list. With it's many features such as customization, modularity, and easy to point and shoot. I would not hesitate to buy it or in my case another Satori one.
If you have any questions be sure to leave a comment
Thanks - Спорт
Best bow fishing bow on the market!!!
I have a 21" Satori paired with long Uukha's and it is a match made in heaven! Buttery smooth, quiet and fast!
I got my Satori 17" on the way! whhooooo!!!! had to watch you review again!
Got a 21" Satori with blackmax limbs...
Totally dig it!!!
Excellent review thank you!!!
My pleasure!
Awesome review!
WATCHING YOUR VIDEO AGAIN! GLAD I DID, AS I MISSED THE ILF LIMBS PART. I WAS WONDERING IF MY BUFFALO AND A SATORI ARE INTERCHANGABLE. NOW I SEE AND KNOW THE ADVANTAGE. I'M ALSO GLAD TO FIND HOYT IS PUTTING A CARBON LAYER FOR STABILITY IN THE MAPLE LIMBS. I MAY HAVE TO LOOK HARDER INTO THE SATORI. THANK YOU! ALWAYS THUMBS UP!!!
Bloody Good shot Mate!
Great review, thanks for sharing
My pleasure!
perfect, Jack
Good stuff brother. Nice video.
Thank you sir!
Great video, good content.
Thank you sir!
Sweet lightning
Purchased that same 17" riser last year. Came with the wood grip.
I have two sets of those old TT longbow limbs so one of them is on it now.
I shoot 3 under like you, so it's nice to be able to adjust to even tiller.
Good review.
Thanks! I wonder if they are coming out with a new recurve... or maybe I just got one without a wood grip.
🏹 Hoyt satori 🏹 👍💪 dam nice bows !!
TO HELP WITH BALANCE, CONSIDER GOING TO A THREE/FOUR ARROW QUIVER. SOME COMPANYS LIKE EAGLES FLIGHT SELL A 2" LOWER QUIVER EXTENTION TO MOVE THE ARROWS BACK. WHEN I CHANGED TO ONLY HUNTING WITH THREE ARROWS, THAT SEEMED TO TAKE CARE OF THE BACKWARD TILT.
Great video and great shooting. I ordered the same components that you did and wow is it beautiful.
It's a sweet shooter!
Good form and release. Seen you at Denton maybe next year shot a round.
We'll see if I can make it out. I've been thinking on going to a Total Archery Challenge and I have my first little on on the way. If we can road trip it out with a 4 month old AND Grizzly Jim comes next year I WILL BE GOING TO DENTON HILL IN 2020.
Thanks for this awesome review! My draw length is 26.5 and I just ordered a 58 inch satori earlier today 🙌 I was stuck between this or a striker rk1
Appreciate the comment! Man that would be a tough choice! Both are awesome bows!
@@theklutzyoutdoorsman5265 hey bud what would be a good mounted quiver for the satori. Hard to find anything about it.
Being in a bow fishing boat would in no way harm the bow lol. Thanks for the review though I'm surprised at the lack of reviews on the satori wish I had a decent pro shop near by where I could try one out
I know it wouldn't hurt the bow. I was REALLY surprised that almost no one actually did a review before me. Grizzly Jim said that a Satori was in the works. I bet now that he is "Mr. Striker" he can't review any other bows.
The Klutzy Outdoorsman I think he was still working for Merlin when he promised the satori review wasn’t he? I imagine he has a harder time getting his hands on all the bows he would like to review now that he isn’t working for an archery shop.
My biggest concern with the bow is everybody saying it rocks back on the shot. I can’t decide if that would bother me or not and I’d hate to add weight to the riser bushing to balance it as it’s already a heavy bow
I bought the 19" riser and use Winn/Winn ilf limbs. Shoot barebow 3d and have 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal using this set up. Love the way the Satori fits my hand. Great bow.
0:31 😂😊😊😊😊😊🎉z
Whats the color of the maple limbs you have ? clear color ? like yellowish ? or darker, more like brown ? Because i bought a set, and wanted to be a clear color, it came brown, very dark.
So... I couldn't use this bow in any of 3d competitions in Europe.
In "instinctive" class, you need wooden riser. It's also a bit on the slow side for recurve.
Otherwise a really nice, adjustable bow.
But I'm sticking to traditional.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Few years later, you still shooting the satori? If so, how do you like it?
Btw wasnt sure if you saw but the accutunes are back in stock last i checked.
Thanks man!
Get an SBD string or Ten Ring with padded loops really worth it.
Thanks for the recommendation! I was looking at getting a new string. I know Grizzly Jim and was thinking on getting one of his
Weird on the grip deal ive never seen them with plastic till now. Even the ones on ebay are all wood. I think the satori used the same grip design as the old hoyt excel risers. I know the deal with the grip lip. I actually used light grit sandpaper to get rid of the lip on mine so it was smooth. That grip design they used was very comfortable other than the lip from the mold.
Ive just put my order in and it never said anything about the grip change. They show it with a wood grip on the hoyt site. Im not happy its going to be plastic. I went straight to a google search and they are saying hoyt arnt making wood grips due to a fallout with the company that made the wood grips for them.
Thats really a shame. Jmo but a wood grip is much nicer and adds alot to the look. Without it i feel they should lower the bows cost atleast 50bucks.
@@xfactoroutdoors165 Yeah I agree.
I just ordered a Satori. Should be here in a few days. Are you still still standing by this and liking this bow. I ordered the black 17” riser with the 40# maple limbs. Can’t wait. Any tips on tuning this bow.
I love mine! To be honest I might get one with a 17" grey riser and 45# long limbs in sub-alpine. Some things I would upgrade are the string silencers, and the rest adjuster (get a push acutune). Let me know how you like it!
Are you not happy with the black or you want both. Good idea about the acutune. I ordered one. I guess the one that came with it is cheap breakable plastic. It looked that way to me. Anyway. I should get mine soon. I’m sure I’ll love it. Thanks and keep the videos coming.
@@rich7036 Totally want both! IMO the black riser with maple limbs looks so cool and "traditional"
I have mine in mail, came after office time on friday so i have to pick it up on monday 😑😑😑 19" with medium limbs.
@@jonanylund541 SWEET. Well not so sweet that you have to wait for it. But still sweet!
You still liking the satori? Just ordered one myself looking forward to getting it in
It's a great bow. Both the riser and the limbs are great. Buy with confidence
I sure love mine. 3 doe down this past season with it.
lower your quiver it will help balance
Whats your brace height? The string mine came with put me at an 8 1/2 inch brace and thats with some twists taken out of it.
Satori's like a higher brace height because of the deep grip. I think it's about 7 3/4 - 8 inches.
The Chinese version... has wood handles. A lot cheaper too...
Really? I didnt know Hoyt outsoursed to china
@@theklutzyoutdoorsman5265 More like China stealing & copying. Their version to the Satori... is called tbow.
Your lighting on this, I can't see some of the items you're showing. Otherwise helpful
Yeah I know that it was dark. Sorry about that
Notice your arrows were quite long, why is that, and did you say your bow is a 50lb draw weight
The recurve limbs I have are 40# and the longbow limbs are 50#. I have a 26" draw length and the arrows I have are full length because they tuned well with just 200 grain points. Another bonus of longer arrows is that my point on distance is pretty short giving me a nice trajectory for hunting. Thanks for commenting!
@@theklutzyoutdoorsman5265 I've just ordered a Satori in full realtree, 21 inch riser and 45lb medium limbs, going to be 6 to 8 weeks coming from Hoyt, funny they don't list cammo on their site, will look into arrow length, last Hoyt recurve the Gama Master 2, had my arrows cut about 1.5 inches more than draw length, good review and Hi from the UK
@@leemarsh6014 Hello from Minnesota!
My limb pockets made a terrible creek when drawing. I had to improvise with some duct tape. Hoyt is sending me some sort of stickers to stick on the bottom limbs.
Huh... that's weird
@@theklutzyoutdoorsman5265 Hoyt said it was happening with the heavy poundsge bows ive got 65lb.
Random but where are you from you sound like Duncan Trussel
I hail from the great nort! West central MN
I am blind. I am listening to Duncan Trussel?
I will bowfish with that satori all day long and there ain’t shit you going to do about it
😂😂 !r😢
Awesome. But accent kills my ears!
Next time sit in the sun so we can see who is talking to us. Review your video before you post it. Thx
