- My first Sony a6700 cinematic video test with Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8. Shot in Amsterdam & Haarlem in 4K, 24fps & Cine4. So far I'm loving the versatility of this combination for daytime & low light. All handheld with some post video stabilization.

Sir, you have inspired me not only to get a camera soon, but to explore filming things, and have fun seeing the beauty in the world. Thank you very much, sincerely.
Thank you so much! That's what I love about filmmaking, it can really open up your eyes..
Best Sony a6700 video on here.
Thanks man!
Beautiful shots. Fantastic sound design!
Wow. This is incredible footage. This video just sealed the deal for me and I’m buying an a6700
Simply beautiful, great job!
Great flow & colors! Love the shot of the white cat
Beautiful angels and shots, immaculate sound effects, calming color. This video is a bundle!
I'm glad that this popped out in my recommendations. Amazing work 👏
First video i've seen of this cameras footage being graded normally instead of some botchef film emulation or stupid luts. Thank you!
The best combo thank you for great video!
i don't have words enough to show my feeling after looking at this.
not just about the camera, but the right song and "aleatory" images who perfectly composed the video in general.
congratulations, mate.
Thank you so much! I tried not to think too much and follow my intuition in this one
Love it, thanks for sharing!
That was beautiful!
OMG THIS IS BEAUTIFUL
Thanks a lot!
love this!!
Beautiful!
DUDE this is awesome!! I got this camera a week ago and its arriving tomorrow! I'm so thrilled to use it that I've been watching clips/videos of it online and stumbled across this masterpiece. Well done and good job with these shots, Kudos! oh and greetings from USA!
Thanks a lot man! Have fun shooting with it :)
How has your experience been so far?
Been following your stuff since my a6500 days. Thanks for doing this as I am waiting for my a6700 to arrive as well.
That's so cool to hear.. It almost feels like an a6500 users reunion haha
Always enjoy how you grade your videos and I am also impress with how you are still sticking with cine4 for your grading while many others moved on to hlg, S log3 or S cinetone. 👍👍
Thanks! I'm still figuring out what best suits my workflow and I also thought it would be interesting to use Cine4 so I can compare it well with the a6500. Because I feel that even with Cine4 there's more dynamic range than before.
You went crazy on this bro
Beautiful shots my man!! Might have just sold me on the A6700, great work!!
Thanks a lot man!
Beautiful footage, Thanks Kasper!
Thank you!
Rocking the exact same setup here, cheers mate
Amazing! 👏
I really love your footages.. Very good job !
Thanks a lot!
Just What I was looking for. Handheld Video test for a6700 + 18-50 Sigma.
Thank you
that lens is a beast
Amazing work
Wonderful footage. Congratulations.
Very touching! Amazing video
Thanks a lot!
Nice video. Beautiful edited. Have a wonderful day.
Beautiful video! I really love the shot at 1:07
Thanks man! Love your FX30 videos!
its not the camera, its you my guy
Now, this is excellent! The camera is coming this week, and the lens is coming tomorrow, so I hope I can eventually figure out how to do it this well!
Thanks a lot! Have fun with it :)
🙌🙌Awesome video, thx for sharing
You made a story out of regular clips, nice
I caught that too. Inspiration.
Incredible and beautiful clip Kasper.
Thank you!
Beautiful footage!
Thank you!
Feels good.
Well done!
Vayyy 👍👍👍😍😍😍
Netjes gedaan weer! 👌
Dankjewel man!
Gorgeous, thanks for sharing :)
Thank you!
After looking at many videos who use the term "cinematic" in one way or another, I feel like your footage is worth calling it that!
Why? Because you know what you're doing and when to use certain techniques and when not to. Nice work :)
i saw yesterday the new camera comercial and I was like I hope kasper buy this one LOL you are a genius men !!
Haha thanks! I'm loving it so far :)
Xin chào bạn! Bạn nghĩ thế nào về sony fx30 và a6700?
Really amazing looking video! Did you use any color grading in post?
Lekker bezig, zeer indrukwekkend! Ik heb ook dezelfde camera en lens in mijn uitrusting. En ben nu nog enthousiaster geworden door jouw video. Ga zo door!
Dankjewel man! Leuk om te horen en veel plezier ermee!
0:40 that shoot of the Buda is awesome…
Thanks man!
Muy bonito amigo, realmente transmite mucho. Saludos desde Cataluña!
Muchas gracias!
Great!
video thật tuyệt vời, máy quay nét, trong trẻo, màu xử lý đẹp, có cảm xúc.
Que vídeo lindo ❤
i love this video! great job! does this lens come with optical stabilization? Or is all of this done in post later on?
Thank you! The lens is not stabilized, but the IBIS of the a6700 is pretty good especially in 'active' mode. Some shots have a little bit of post stabilization.
Nice video. Hoping I can tell a story like that too. Thanks.
Hi mate, amazing video. What LUT did you use to get these amazing colors? Have a great day!
Thanks! It's graded with a subtle S-curve + a creative Lut (KDX) at 30% opacity.
That’s amazing, I’m actually been looking for a camera to do more video, does this camera has a built in stabilisation? What cameras would you recommend?
Thanks! Yes the IBIS is pretty good, but don't expect gimbal like stabilization. Depends on your needs and budget, but I really like the a6700 and find the A7CII very interesting.
Gaaf! Ik ga dit ook is doen met mijn A7C II
Your videos are very inspiring, I just got exactly similar gear for photograpy and videography, and will start shooting asap :)
Prachtige shots zeg
Dankjewel man! 🙌
Beautiful video! Did you use catalyst browse on post video stabilization?
Thanks! No, just warp stabilizer at 5% for some shots
Lovely imagery. I'm hoping to add the a6700 as a second camera for my FX30.
Thanks! They are both great, I just love the small form factor of the a6700.
Amazing job bro. Would like to see more ofthis camera, looking forward to purchase it. Any problems with overheating?
Thank you! I have no more overheating issues since I have switched the 'Auto Power OFF temp' to 'High'.
تعقيم للعين جميل ❤❤❤
Beautiful work! How does the A6700 compare handheld video to the A7C? Thanks in advance!
Thanks! I never used an A7C, but from what I have seen the IBIS is similar to the a6500 and the a6700 IBIS is better than the a6500. Don't expect gimbal-like shots while walking though.
Hi! nice review✅🍿.
I have the a6700 and I can't record in 4K 100p. The camera gives me a message saying that to record at these speeds I need cards higher than v60. I have Sony Tough v90 300mb/s cards.
Any help with this?
Beautiful, please could you share some knowledge about this camera's IBIS, how usable it is? You've made great job here with post video stabilization, but how much of a crop it was? Is the stabilization much worse when using unstabilized lenses like Sigma?
The IBIS is decent. When I use un-stabilized lenses like the sigma, I generally only have to use warp stabilizer at 1-5%. Which in general results in a crop of only 1 to 2%. The in-camera 'active' stabilization mode results in a 10% crop.
@@KaspervanDijk thanks!
❤
How do you like it compared to zv-e1
Nice one. Do you recommend sigma 18-50mm lens?
Thanks! Yes definitely, it's a really versatile lens for wide shots and close-ups and pretty decent in low light too
Nice shot! Curious to know if you use any filter for this shooting?
Thanks! Yes, I only used an Urth 2-32 Variable ND filter.
The noise on this footage is a lot lower than I would've expected for this sensor.
Awesome work - Are you using a lens filter?
Thanks! I used an Urth 2-32 VND filter
Hey there! I'm just wondering how you get the sounds of the animals and wind. Do you add it in afterwords?
Hi! Most of the time I add in SFX in post and sometimes it's just the in-camera mic.
hi! do you have any tips on using filters for this setup and these types of shots? what filter do you recommend most and when do you find it being useful/unnecessary
I only use an Urth variable ND 2-32 filter in day light to make sure I can use a proper shutter angle.
I have the same setup. But my video is very shaky and I started to think whether I got the wrong lens. What did you do to stabilize the video handheld? Your video looks amazing!
Thanks! You can use 'active' SteadyShot in camera which makes it more stable. Also try using a neck strap to create an extra point of contact while filming. I often use warp stabilizer at 1-10% to stabilize in post.
You can also turn off camera IBIS and stabilize it in post with a wonderful free tool called Gyro flow. You can get great results with minimal crop. You have to increase the shutter speed though to get rid of motion blur as much as possible, so it might not be as useful in low light.
How's the ibis of a6700 with a lens that doesnt have stabilization? Nice video!
Thanks! It's much better than a6500 even without 'active', but sometimes it can fight your movements a bit
Is this footage graded? I love your way of story telling
Thanks! I graded it Premiere Pro
Could you share the video setting?
Very beautiful cinematic video! Why using Cine4 ? And what PP did you used ?
Thanks! It's a nice middle ground between LOG and rec709. PP6, color: pro, sat: -5, detail: -7
@@KaspervanDijk Thx for your answer :)
@@KaspervanDijk did you do any color grading?
Hey again, were you purposefully underexposing/overexposing and then bringing it down/up post shoot? If so I'd love to know how much you r exposure was at. Thanks!
In general I expose "normally" and if possible preserve the highlights.
@@KaspervanDijkGotcha. Thanks.
hello, i have the same setup and i find most of my pictures are underexposed, i know the vidéo is about "cinematic" but as you have same setup i was wondering if you have made some pictures test ? i'm coming from sony a6600 so the settings are mostly the same, and i didn't have this "issue" with the a6600.
I did some test photos in manual mode, but didn't notice any underexposing.
Well done 🫶
Some lovely shots there. best "cinematic" video i've seen on A6700 so far :)
Thank you!
Do you have any problems using Continuos Auto Focus with this lens on this camera? Each time a press the AF-ON button it says lens not supported...
No, works fine for me. What lens are you using?
Same lens, apparently it wasn't attached correctly lol sorry@@KaspervanDijk
Great job , how close do you think the zve10 stacks up ?
Thanks! I think the biggest difference is the rolling shutter, stabilization, high frame rate quality and 10 bit color. I think that most people won't notice that much difference in terms of image quality (24fps 4k) though, especially when watching on UA-cam. But there are many quality of life improvements as well.
@@KaspervanDijk Amazing , thanks for responding big fan of your work , I see you shoot in Cine4 when loading into Davinci Resolve what input color space and gamma you use to covert the footage properly?
@@shaquillenoeltv I don't convert Cine4. Only some corrections (WB & exp), S-curve + a creative LUT at 30%
What about overheating? Footage and images are useable without color grading editing or not?
After changing "Auto Power OFF Temp" to "High" I have no more overheating problems. When shooting in S-Cinetone it's usable without any grading.
@@KaspervanDijk Thank you!
waaaa
My a6500 has terrible rolling shutter, but I didn't seem to notice any in your video???
The RS of a6700 is much better
I jusy brought my camera rew days back same as yours. Was this all colour graded then? Cine 4 right?
Yes Cine4 and all graded in Premiere Pro
@@KaspervanDijk oh thank you so much it looks amazing 🙏😊
@@aaphotofilm Thanks! Have fun with it :)
@@KaspervanDijk thanks yes I'm loving it already. I'm sure i will too 😊🙏
instellingen ?
Hey! Was this standard or active stabilization?
1st scene was active, everything else standard. Active crops in a bit, so I don't use it all the time.
Do you miss OSS when using the Sigma on the A6700?
No, the IBIS is much better than the a6500, especially for static shots. The improved rolling shutter helps a lot too.
@@KaspervanDijk thx!
what nd filter did you use?
Urth VND 2-32
Are you using a polarizer?
No, only an Urth 2-32 VND filter
Well done Kasper! I bet you were inspired by the Tim Kellner video "Breathe" and the horse scene in there... right? 😉
Thank you! Maybe subconsciously I was, since I love his videos.
Me too. But nevertheless, yours are equally as good as Tims. Keep it up!@@KaspervanDijk
Thank you so much! 🙌@@postcardsfromgermany
Would you recommend this lens over sony 18-105 f4?
Tough one. If you can get close to your subject, have good IBIS and shoot in low light, I would get the Sigma. If you need more reach and OSS, then the Sony. They are both great though.
@@KaspervanDijksigma 16? Or this one of the vídeo?
Is this on a gimble or handheld, Im worried about the stablisation of it :/
All handheld with a bit of warp stabilizer for some shots
@@KaspervanDijkwow, is this the stablization totally with 6700, like impressive(fantasitic shots btw )
Thanks! Yes, it's much better then a6500@@richarddong5188
did you use catalyst browse?
No I didn't. Only 1-5% warp stabilizer for some shots.
@@KaspervanDijk wow, that's amazing
No grading or lut just cine4?
I graded in Premiere Pro. Mainly it's a S-curve with the highlights brought down and a creative lut (KDX) at 30%
did you have any issues with the camera overheating?
Yes, only once shooting a dance performance for about an hour switching between 4K24 and 4K60. But I had no more overheating issues when switching the 'Auto Power OFF temp' to 'High'.
@@KaspervanDijk thank you. I’m getting this 6700 today and I’m kinda worried about the overheating issue
I did a lot of professional work with a6500 which overheated much faster, so for me a6700 is an upgrade in that sense@@LeyendaProductions
