A review of the Cobra falconer, Raptor and his pet falcon "Talon". First released in 1987 and re-released in 1988, it is a common and cheap vintage figure to find on the aftermarket. The falcon's feet are fragile and are often found snapped off. Collectors often pass on this figure due to its "guy in a bird mascot suit" look, uninspired accessories and less-than-stellar portrayal in the comics. *Note: in the comics Raptor explained he wore the suit to socially integrate with his birds (falcons and hawks). However, that is a flocking/migratory bird behavior - not something a solitary/predatory bird needs. - Розваги
I love Raptor, actually I really like all of the '87 Cobras. I felt they were a nice change from the norm.
Pretty awesome figure, yes. This figures where a giant part of my childhood, yes. Wish I could collect them again, yes. Also I really enjoy your reviews, yes! Thank you very much Kevin, yes!
Thank you for reviewing Raptor. I personally feel that the 1987 wave of villains is one of the best in the entire series, second only to 1984's crop of villains. 1983 and 1986 were good years for Joe villains but I think 1987 took it to a new level. If Sunbow went ahead with a season 3 this would be the perfect villains to keep the show interesting. Please do Big Boa, he was always a favorite of mine and as the COBRA Trainer he physically looks like he could stand toe-to-toe with the Joe Drill Sergeant, Sgt. Slaughter. Another A+ review.
interesting back pack option. Never thought of that.
ONE OF MY FIRST COBRAS & FAVOURITE FIGURES!
great review
lol Those "c-list villains" were my G.I. Joes.
Thanks for sharing your review with us too! Sorry I didn't say that yo begin with!
What a strange figure. Good review!
Thanks to you Kevin! Review looks great as always!!! :)
Beast Wars Megatron was quite annoying. Yes.
one of my favorite careters had him when was kid loved him can never find him with his wings or cape what ever
"I have to admit that actually Raptor looks a bit more impressive. And that's probably the last time you will ever hear that sentence uttered"
Hahahahaaha, love it.
can u review big boa the boxer? That was one of my favourite cobra's.
My brother had the crocodile dude, my neighbour had roadblock.
so many good memorys
The Raptor figure looks cool but the character was just bizarre. Larry Hama clearly agreed b/c he only used the character a few times before killing him off.
I loved the '87 figures, to be honest! I didn't have Big Boa or Techno Viper, but I remember wanting them pretty badly!lol I had Crystal Ball "mind meld" Raptor's falcon, and Croc Master's Croc so they could communicate with them! I was a weird kid anyways, and kind of liked Cobra La to a point too!
Figure looks like Alice Cooper!
There were so many interesting villains from this wave . I remember being blown away when my cousin first showed me this figure . Was Croc Master from this wave as well?
Yes, Croc Master was a 1987 figure as well. You can see him in the opening seconds of this video.
I like him. Cobra specialists characters are interesting in a Batman rogues gallery kind of way. they seem to be weird additions to Cobra, but I am sure some fans might have felt the same about Zartan or the Dreadnoks at one time before they got involved in the comic stories. I wish raptor had claw weapons like the Cobra Dictator did. The wing cape was cool, but not much of a weapon. great review.
Great review man! A very bizarre and weird figure, never really knew what was the idea behind that weirdo but still always liked it... Now, I'd love to see a review from you for Crystal Ball! Another strange one from that wave.

Oh great!! Missed that one. Thanks!
I think the Devil Ray, Barracuda are just pack ins not companion pets
this was my one and only gi joe figure, i loved it
Hasbro be trollin. Ha!
i always liked the more weird joes!!!
Great review but an awful figure and character idea.I disliked him when I was a kid also. He belongs in the alien cantina in Star Wars
no he is too horrible for Star Wars too. I would recommend He-Man for Raptor
