- With the recent review of the "Don't Hug Me I'm Scared" TV Series being released by Saberspark over on his channel, I thought to bring out this Twitch stream of his showing his full reaction to the 6 part online video series sensation that took the web by storm back in the day to result in the 2022 series that was released and ran on the British "Channel 4" station from late September into early October.

This is a reupload and slightly edited version of the original Twitch stream that streamed on 10/14/22 under the title of "I'VE NEVER SEEN DON'T HUG ME I'M SCARED BEFORE (YES FOR REAL)".

So it's come to my attention when viewing some of you're comments here that it appears there are scam/bot accounts going around and replying to some of your guys comments trying to be various content creators. Please know this *OBVIOUSLY* isn't me and I wouldn't ask anything out of you and for you to follow me anywhere else than where you see either on my channel or in any of my video descriptions. So *PLEASE IGNORE ANY & ALL REPLIES* that *CLEARLY* aren't from me personally, and know that I'll soon get around to deleting them if they ever show up again. The whole thing utilizes real methods use for religious recruitment. Like telling Yellow Guy what he's feeling is "lonely" instead of hungry, presenting unconditional love then slowly introducing conditions, and shaming him when he does love "wrong."

True, I was very interested for Saber to talk about what he just saw. Like at least a small pause per vid would have been great so he freaking has a moment for the theme before they moved on immediately. He paused too much in two, but they really rushed through the other ones that came after. I especially wanted to know more of his thoughts on episode 3.

@@troveion I mean, to be fair - he did make a video and *could* give his thoughts after each video. But also yeah, it's a streaming format - streamer is gonna pause and chat a lot between pausing.
i get annoyed at everyone keep telling saber to stop talking and pausing, the whole the point of his reaction is to,, get his reaction. i felt so bad.

It is kinda sad that saber had the right instinct to pause and process the video and everyone kept yelling at him for it. Like were we all supposed to just watch the series silently and guess how he was reacting until the credits, when he can talk without having to speak over the show? That's 90% just rewatching DHMIS, and you can do that without messing with someone else's first viewing experience.
There's a reason everyone kept getting mad at him for pausing in the middle of songs and jokes, you moron.

That is the whole reason why I watch his videos, I don't want to watch a reupload of the whole series in a stream, I want to hear his thoughts and opinions during it. I am glad I'm not the only one.
Yeah, I wish they could have just let him stop and think about the episode afterwards to get his thoughts out, if I wanted to just see the episodes without commentary I'd just re-watch them on their own channel and give the creator the extra view. With how much work went into this, they kind-of deserve it.

Yeah, agreed. What she did in 4 was completely unfair. She's also missing the fact that when you're watching by yourself, you get to process entirely at your own speed. So she got the time to take it all in, especially if she watched them as they were comming out (there were months between each one). Saber was just needing a few moments. It wasn't fair on him.

It's not like I could've known it was going to be like this before I watched it, is it?
But if I air my grievance maybe others will see my comment and realise earlier than I did that the video probably won't be for them. Or the people in the video may see it and ensure they make higher quality reaction content in future.
This is of course a lot of maybes, but I can guarantee that none of it could ever happen if no one ever gave feedback. That's not a maybe.
If you have a more specific grievance with my feedback, other than what your comment implies which is simply "I don't like that you're saying you didn't like something that I did like so I'm gonna tell you to go away" then please explain what that is.

TBHH I can understand both sides. I think the reason why people get annoyed is because 99% of the time the things he gets confused about end up being explained like 2.5 seconds later anyways. Game Theory also does this which i find incredibly annoying lol, he will make a 5 minute video into a 2 hour long stream all because he pauses over one tiny detail he doesnt understand, goes on a giant tangent about it, only for it to be explained after he unpauses. LMFAOI may just be biased but I just really dont understand how someone can get confused watching something when... like... a video is constantly feeding you more information. Why pause a video the moment you are confused when you can.. I dunno... Keep watching and have it explained to you?

@@peepawfart I get your stance on "Don't pause the video to announce confusion if it's gonna be cleared up soon after", but one thing to keep in mind is that Saber was streaming his reaction. He had an audience tuning in to watch him, and a good way to engage with viewers and chat is to give his thoughts as they pop into mind, confusions and all. Telling him to not stop and absorb what just happened is probably gonna allow for less engagement on his end since he's never seen the episodes before and binged them all in one sitting.
I feel like hearing out confusions is a big part of why people like seeing reactions to DHMIS. If he didn't question anything as they were happening and was just going "wtf" when the weird shit happened, I think it'd do little to differentiate his reactions from the sea of others who filmed themselves watching the show. I wanna hear his thoughts, even if I know they're gonna be answered the moment he unpauses.
For people who are familiar with all the episodes of DHMIS, it's easy to see why they'd get frustrated when Saber would pause to question something that's gonna be explained later. But Saber never watched the show, so it's not really surprising to me that he wasn't aware of how quickly his questions would be answered.
I'm fairly certain that Laura and chat were mainly just excited that they get to see Saber experience DHMIS, which is very understandable, but I kinda wish they allowed him to say his piece about certain moments instead of saying that he's "supposed to be overwhelmed" and telling him to move on.

Plus, I do get personally annoyed whenever a streamer is told to "stop pausing so much" when reacting to a video. Perhaps this particular stream was under a bit of a different context, but I still wish Saber wasn't interrupted as much.

DHMIS is a monument to an era of the internet where hard working, talented people are both recognized and rewarded for their efforts before the quantity over quality mindset fully took hold.

This was a bit of an annoying watch because there was so little time for Saber to actually discuss what he just watched, they would cut him off and go straight to the next episode without any gap. The episodes kind of blend together when you don't give yourself time to go through what you watched

Yeah, this series is supposed to be watched attentively and sober. It's short, so it's a lot to process and too easy to miss the dense details if you're drunk. It's something where you go through an episode, think about the twisted horrors you just witnessed, continuously try to adjust your framing of your understanding of what you're watching, then go on to the next episode. Not necessarily the best content for a live reaction stream.
