Hi Preston. I was on the train with you and we had lunch the last full day. Excellent video. You definitely have a talent for telling stories. Keep it up.
Jim 'Happy Belated Birthday' sir! You are indeed doing it right and apparently have been for 90 years. I bet Preston was quite the character, he seems full of life. Cheers to you mate!
Heya Preston! We met on the train-I was the short redhead that was usually hanging out with Cassie and her partner. :) You are *so lucky* to have been on this particular train. I've ridden it a couple more times since this journey (since I don't fly, I take the train everywhere) and they were not nearly as magical of an experience. Getting to ride The Canadian with so few people onboard, and with such amazing folks like Cassie and crew, was so fantastic. It'll never be the same! I'm so happy that you captured the magic of this particular ride on The Canadian for us all to either remember, or experience vicariously for the many, many viewers you have that weren't onboard!
Tanya!!!! Wow I’m so glad you found me! What a delight to see this comment pop up :) super cool to hear how special that ride was from your perspective as well! I feel like we will all remember that one for a long time. Give the Canadian a hug from me the next time you ride 🫡
THIS is the kind of content we need on UA-cam! Genuine stories that leave something real with you. I have been thinking about this video and your channel as a whole a lot lately. I would love to chat sometime!
Lucky you can just do that. I wish I could do a train ride like this, but I can't go far from my local hospital. Enjoy trips like this for people who can't! Take care!
All I can say is I just accidentally stumbled on this channel 25 minutes ago as I was looking at camping videos and I like this guy's personality and the views he captured are amazing! I need to watch more of this guy's content
15:39 random note but seeing Bison alive in numbers is beautiful and heartwarming. Rdr2 gave me a newfound love for the animal we nearly put to extinction. Anyway, great video, love the comments as well. Really great video, Preston!
Jim faking a heart attack at his surprise party… a master at work, gentlemen! Preston, glad you took this trip. Burnout is real, especially when you’ve been pushing like you have been. I hope it was refreshing for you, and thank you for sharing it with all of us in such a creative way. You rock at this.
Earl Grey missed a trick. Could have called it the Tea Cup. Had to edit this. Nearly cried at the beauty of Jim's surprise. Such a simple thing, but so heart-warming. It's a birthday I am certain he will remember for the rest of his long years, and will be something John will be able to recall when spending time with his dad. The beauty of such a small act of kindness is incredible.
Seriously Preston, WOW! UA-cam needs to pick up your algo ASAP because you are creating things that are so heartfelt, real, and just a delight to spend time on. I can't wait for you to reach multi-million sub status and keep doing what you're doing! You are incredible and thanks for making content on UA-cam!
this video felt just like a wholesome movie and i loved every single second of it, it was so beautiful to see people interacting with each other, no bad intentions just good vibes. :)
Embracing the change is kind of poetic for me right now. I moved to Wisconsin from Washington for a job. So new job, new state, new car, new friends, new apartment, new environment, new weather, everything in my life is new and different. Thanks for the reminder that change is good. I've probably grown more in the last four months than I have the last year. Thanks for a great video. Look forward to more!
what an awesome video. You lifted me right up from germany in the rocky mountains. So inspirational how you manage to get new friends in every situation and how amazing these people are!! Really lovely!
That was brilliant. You have a gift for meeting people, and drawing them all into your adventure. The surprise 91st birthday Party for Jim got me right in the feels. Dad's are indeed special. Those of us lucky enough to have them still around should always be grateful, Truly great work sir.
If you think about it, we’re all just trash pandas consuming the trash of the internet. Except Preston’s trash is from a five star restaurant so it’s delicious.
Your videos are so genuine and passionate, it's a breath of fresh air. It feels like you do things and then make videos out of them rather than doing things JUST to make videos, if that makes sense. You're so alive and so aggressively you, it's great to see.

A tip from a biologist Canadian, when breathing in the cold do your best to do so through your nose as it is has specialized structures to heat up and moisten the air as it goes into your lungs. As well on the way out it conserves water. (That's why your nose drips in the cold!)
As someone living in the far north of Sweden where we get - 40C at times, I know to breath through my nose, but I didn't know exactly why. Thank you for that little piece of information!

I live in Minnesota closest thing to Canada in the continuous US and I always find it funny seeing people in the cold that live in California while I’m out here with short and a t shirt on a nice warm 40F (4.4 C) it definitely doesn’t get as cold as -40 C I’ve only lived through something colder than that once and that’s when it was -45.5 C for 3 days

You are really special man. I had a rough today, somebody stole my phone and I just felt depressed because I was worried about my finances. I didn't feel good and I blamed myself for not being careful. Mongolia is a tough country. The society can be very harsh. And I've been trying my best for the last 2 years to try and live my life in Mongolia. And I wanted to give up. but your videos gave me a new hope. your innate positivity, and optimism is very contagious. Thank you so much Preston. Your light helped me find my light. Lots of love, from Mongolia!!

Hands down favorite travel video I’ve seen. It has your special touch and showcases human relationships in a way which reflects such genuine connection. Taking what could be a weird thing (having a camera on fellow travelers) and turning it into something appreciated by all because you documented a beautiful journey is something not so easily accomplished. Your kind spirit and sense of humor really makes you the hero we want to follow in this story and I thank you for sharing it so well with such a fun video. Your songs are so awesome. I love your content.
This video was very mind-shifting for me, I'm leaving Egypt to go live in Saudi in a few weeks and to be honest I was not very fond of It, until I watched this video and learned the value of embracing and accepting change, now im more than ready for this new experience that is ahead of me, Thank you.

This is the most wholesome thing I have seen in years thank you for making this video. I feel like it has boost my confidence. This is the kind of videos that we need to see on the Internet. Thank you.
Omg!! I loved this video ! It was more like a mini documentary about the spirit of train travel , rather than a travel vlog . I’m taking this trip by myself next year as my parents did the reverse trip back in 1967 when they met face to face for the first time ( they had been penpals for 2 years prior ). My dad is Scottish and living in Australia and my mum is Jamaican living in Canada . I’m actually an Aussie , as after 2.5 years of living in Canada , they immigrated back here . Seeing your video made me smile and wonder what life was like on that train back then ❤
One of the best youtube videos i have ever watched with amazing storytelling and scenery. I know you dont usually do travelling videos but please do more of these.

So glad I discovered this video!! I'm in the UK but my grandparents travelled this rail line around 1910 and I have some fantastic rail photos taken by them back then. My husband and I have a visit to Vancouver at the top of our bucket list and I'd love to get there via this rail journey.
I think this is one of the best videos I have watched on videos for many reasons actually one being on how raw it was. Jst a man excited to be on a train, randomly meeting some lovely people all of them with a story in their hand. What more can a person even want ❤❤

Huh, As someone who deals with burnout often even when still in college getting my masters in psychology, This…..Warms my heart, More than I honestly thought it would
The tip from Mohammad and wonderful fellow passengers really make this train experience pleasant and memorable. I'm sure there are other UA-camrs cover this itinerary too but your personal sharing makes your video so much more unique. My son smiled when he heard your song at the end. It seems like the food is better than the Amtrak offering - definitely will put this train ride into my bucket list and book this for a mental retreat! :)
This was an AWESOME watch!!! I have grown up in CO and take the beauty of the mountains for granted, sometimes. I always love seeing people experience them for the first time.
Great video! Brings back memories of the train trips I took with my grandparents and my brother, who's passed now, in the early 80s. Love watching the scenes through the dome car.
I don't understand why people still get sponsored by better help. they have such a bad history. they sell personal answers that they say specifically that only your therapist will see. if you value online safety don't get use better help.
I almost passed the video .I've seen so many train videos, but I am glad I didn't. Such a beautiful storytelling video. It is the best I've seen by far.
Thank you!! Your vid brought tears! I live next to Rocky Mnts in Utah and it's SOO easy to forget the beauty. That makes all the worlds BS disappear. This vid was amazingly beautiful and 22 mins passed without even knowing. The loneliness on trips is scary, but you met some amazing people. This is what I need. Burnout sucks
Preston, dude your content is awesome. Super love the videos about the GoKart ride to that bridge (absolutely worth it considering the view tho, ngl). But I do have to say you definitely need to choose better sponsors. BetterHelp has been in so many scandals it's unreal. Leaking data to Facebook? You want to promote that? I understand you need to eat and pay for the video somehow, but there's other, more ethical ways of doing it. Hope you change your viewpoint.
And thats the type of sponsors i love watching! Cool little song and a sponsor about helping! I ❤ this! (And content too! I love these little songs!!!)
We should be careful who we partner with to sponsor our videos and make sure we thoroughly review their backgrounds before pitching their company. All that aside, what a fantastic trip this must’ve been, a great video, and awesome sound design of course!

Man I just love your whole vibe. Best travel vlog on UA-cam rn, dare I say! Keep it up brother. Love your content
New bucket list item btw. Gotta go see that painting😉
1:11 - I used to live in one of those buildings
I hope I celebrate my 91st birthday in the rockies with you
Rocky Mountain Magic! What an incredible journey! Loved the surprise birthday celebration for Jim and that Train Song is a vibe! 🎉
This was an AWESOME watch!!! I have grown up in CO and take the beauty of the mountains for granted, sometimes. I always love seeing people experience them for the first time.
Mohammad gives good advice
I love the beauty of poorly edited in polar bears out my window.
You gotta try the maple syrup, it’s divine.
I agree a lot especially those maple syrup cream cookies there the best
The croutons did it for me
Great video!
My mom and I are taking this trip. I was excited before but after seeing this I can hardly wait! Thanks for sharing.
The internet needs more of this
I almost passed the video .I've seen so many train videos, but I am glad I didn't. Such a beautiful storytelling video. It is the best I've seen by far.
This guy feels like the next ryan trahan
