Herod all day, if you have longevity issues, just spray molecule 01 first and after it dries spray some herod. Problem solved and it leaves this intoxicating scent trail that breaks necks so you better call an ambulance if you're about to walk somewhere with people around you
Thank You! I was only in the comments to see if ANYONE tried using Molecule 01 to help with performance. I already bought a bottle that just came in and was going to return it due to discovering PDM reformulating Herod from 78% Alcohol to 81%. I won’t bother returning if Molecule 01 can help with the poor performance. Thanks again!
I don’t understand needing a fragrance to last 8+ hours. Especially a more cozy rich scent like Herod. Now you don’t want them to be impotent like Creed’s Millisime Imperial, but where are you going that you need to project that long? Herod isn’t a work fragrance, so if it’s good for 4, that’s all you should need. I wear 2-3/day. I don’t need Herod to be a work/gym/evening combo, lol. The most important thing on a fragrance is it’s scent, not it’s performance.
Great video. I know I am responding way after the fact but hoping it will help as no guy / woman wants "performance issues" lol. I have an a bottle of Herod that's a few years old and new bottle I just purchased. Sprayed one on each arm and tracked the longevity (I was bored). They both last about 7 or 8 hours on my skin, the newer one seemed to perform slightly better than my older bottle. Here is where Herod gets tricky. It seems to react to body heat and actually doesn't completely go away. I went to the gym in the evening maybe 9 or 10 hours after spraying and the scent came back and projected pretty noticeably during my entire workout. I have also noticed on every occasion when you wear Herod the previous day and shower the next morning, the scent becomes extremely evident.
I have and love them both, Herod smells incredible in the air, but unfortunately has been reformulated, my old bottle of Herod is a beast, the new one not so much
Actually Herod has never been ultra long lasting and projecting :) Perfume oil macerates for a longer period and appears more powerful. Especially in the case of Herod, you will also see this in the color of the juice due to high vanilla ingredients.
Two amazing fragrances! Interesting that Darlene said Tobacco Vanille reminds her of the holidays... I wore that one this past Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve!! I did notice some issues with Herod's performance. Couldn't smell it after a while and had to reapply after about 4-6 hours.
After time your nose get used to the smell of a scent or fragrance and you become nose blind to it. When you first get a cologne and spray it last hours upon hours but then once you keep wearing it you find yourself only smelling it only for maybe a few hours. Best way to figure out if it really isn't lasting as long as it should is just ask someone if they can smell you cologne. But 4-6 hours of projections is pretty good. I normally apply fragrances twice a day so, having to reapply Herod more than once a day can actually be a good thing because you will always know it will project for the whole day.
Sadly Herod as good as it is turns into a skin scent after about 8 hours still there at 12 but definitely not a projection beast like other Layton, and I believe Herod 2ml samples are on twisted lily
Herod's projection lasts a mere 30 minutes, and I'm being generous with that estimate. Beyond that, it settles into a subtle skin scent, so delicate that you'll need to lean in close, perhaps even touching your nose to the skin to detect it. And trust me, I'm not exaggerating.
I prefer Herod, it’s great for close encounter occasions such as going out to dinner. I have an older batch and get a decent longevity so not sure how it compares to current one. And of course I don’t put this on beast mode category.
I bought my Harod from Nordstrom, November of 2022. It don’t think it even exists beyond hour 8 and after about an hour its pretty much skin only. It’s performing like a freshy, not like a real PdeM 😢
I dont understand why girls love Layton so much. HEROD is just perfect. After 5-6 hours just triger the TUXEDO and enjoy the day with different scents... No worry about the mid lasting. HEROD smells really amazing and that is the MOST important for a fragrance.
As of right now for me, fragrance like, Hypnotizing Fire The Harmonist, Plum in Cognac Scents of Wood are my go to r/n for winter night. I smell like a warm fire mixed with Spices & Cookies. It smell so damn good. A fun Fragrance I think you would like for the morning if you love the scent of a Warm Starbucks Caramel coffee Frappé, Bond No 9, NY Night.
Man, tom Ford gets a lot of hype but everytime I see someone compare a tom ford to a niche fragrance, the niche always wins out. Considering tom ford charges niche level prices you would think they would have some stand out fragrances. Maybe Tuscan leather back in the day was exceptional, but much like creed, I feel like they are coasting on the prestige of past releases.
For whatever it is worth. So far Tom Ford to me has been better than PDM. I love PDM. I own many of both. But PDM are very “safe” I guess. Not as complex. Anyway.
I love TF fragrances and my favorite fragrance is Oud Wood but I've noticed they stay way too close to the skin lately and don't last long at all. Even the clones out perform them.
Parfums de Marly is a niche brand that isn’t quite well known as Creed, MFK, Bond no.9, etc…but I find they have quite a great selection for everyone. I find it interesting that everyone always mentions Layton, Carlise, Oajan, Pegasus as great scents but rarely have I seen anyone review Darley. That scent appears to be the red headed stepchild of the bunch. Any experience with that particular scent?
You both might like Back to Black by Kilian and (more masculine) Lapidus Pour Homme by Lapidus (20$) if you like that honey tobacco note, very smooth (like Naxos but not as smooth). I personally can't stand Herod due to that cough syrup vibe, but girls have complimented the scent trail it leaves.
@@briananderson4953 just about every fragrance has been reformulated at some point. Tobacco fragrances in general aren't meant to be people pleasers as much as Clubmed or Paris Hilton so already one is in a niche to begin with.
Herod smells "old" on me and not as good sadly cus of my skin chem! Tobacco Vanille smells way better on my skin with that sweetness coming out but i do agree it has a Christmas smell and reminds me of like a expensive christmas candle lol not my go to unless i have a winter coat on lol
Parfums de Marly has REFORMULATED Herod. I own an older formulation which has an alcohol concentration of 78%. The new formulation I see in stores has 81% alcohol. My formulation is a dark orange / amber color. The new formulation is a very light, faint orange in color. The new formulation does not last as long and it smells different. Parfums de Marly fragrances are ALWAYS getting reformulated and become much weaker than their ORIGINAL releases. Parfums de Marly HAS NOT been transparent when it comes to the reformulation of their fragrances. Carlisle, Layton & Oajan have also been reformulated and have 3%-4% more alcohol in newer batches.
Everything above 2015 is reformulated. I owend multiple batches, from 2014 to 2021 and the juice color changed from 2016. i had my 2016 bottle for over 4 years sitting around and nothing changed. The red dense juice is 2015 and older. From 2016 everything became weaker and is still weak till today.

I got a full bottle of Herod, and I am loving it,, its not a beast but i love the scent
Herod in the scent bubble 🔥
Herod is an intimate scent, for close encounters. Every woman I've worn it around loves it.
I totally agree
Every time I see Melissa and Darlene….I GET SOOOOO HAPPY!! 😍😸

My bottle of Herod is only 7-8hrs longevity as well, the smell is amazing though.
Never smelled tobacco vanille! But Herod is so manly and cozy!
I get excellent performance from Herod, and pretty much all of the PDM's I own: Herod, Pegasus, Layton, Oajan and Sedley.

It like I’m in the Twilightzone. She sounds EXACTLY like you. So to hear your voice, intonation, choice of words etc.. coming out of her face. 😁
If Herod doesn’t last as long as you would like just overspray it. Spray it on your clothes as well. When in doubt overspray.
