ABOUT ME
I am 25 years old. I was born in Poland and grew up in the UK. I am married to a wonderful man called Maciej with whom I vlog on a seperate channel (everdaters). I also lived in places such as Paris and Alesund in Norway throughout my life.
Why fragrances? I have always been very sensitive to smells. For example I remember being 6 years old and going on a fishing trip with my family. After catching fish I could smell fish oil on my hands for days but no one believed me. Wherever I lived I always spent hours in my local fragrance shop and get to know many amazing fragrances. Now I am sharing my passion for fragrances on UA-cam. I hope I can bring you value by introducing you to new fragrances and hopefully someday interviewing perfumers and giving you an insight into the perfume industry. My dream perfumer to interview is Frederic Malle, just saying :)

I just picked up a couple of bottles (one for a friend) from Notino, using their PdM discount - £309 for the two. £155 for 125ml works out at roughly £125 for 100ml. This is a no-brainer for such a gorgeous, classy scent.
Almost the perfect tobacco vanille fragrance, I wish the tobacco was a bit stronger later in the drydown, but it's gorgeous. I'd take this over Tom Ford TV. Just bought a full bottle of Herod

It does smell softer and better! But keep In mind that Herod is a Tobacco and Vanilla based fragrance for a Date night or something like that. It last’s long but the Sillage isn’t OVERLY crazy. Whereas Tom Fords Tobacco Vanille is just a Performance Monster literally monster the Sillage is one of the bests ever also the lasting time! This one is mostly a scent for a black tie event where you want to get noticed, where you want to be loud and bold! And people don’t give TV the time to drydown and judge it to quick (drydown one of the bests)

I love tobacco vanilla fragerances.. I like herod but I would LOVE it if only they would replace the incense scent with more sandalwood.
I like it but it doesn't compare to TF's TV
Beautiful fragrance. I'm a sucker for vanilla and the tobacco isn't overpowering either. Definitely my next purchase. (Unless Layton wins me over!)
I really like it but its a little expensive, everybody should get a bottle one day tho... If you guys wanna try something similar go for Bvlgari Man in Black its basically Herod but without the vanilla, a little bit more spicy and more woody on the drydown.
I tested it a few days ago. Performance was almost as good as spicebomb extreme

I was given a free vial of this fragrance at my favorite department store. It seems to be a better fragrance for very cold weather. I do like it. Very expensive though. GREAT review Monika!

I think it's well priced for the amount of natural ingredients being used. Only gripe is it doesn't last as long as Layton and Carlisle for example

Hi Monika, I bought the PDM men’s sampler set a few weeks ago and when I sprayed Herod on a test strip I didn’t really like it. Well, today I decided to spray it on skin and WOW, was I surprised at how much I liked it after 30 minutes. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Herod!!👍
Just had a similar experience, i blind bought layton and herod and they arrived today. At first i was a little disappointed, i went for a jog and all of a sudden it hit me and i fell in love. After 30 minutes it smells incredible.
Test strips do not do PDM frags _any_ justice whatsoever.

Question. I heard Estee Lauder reformulated Tom Ford, Initio, Killian, PDM, etc. True ? And globally the main 3 to 5 notes are synthetic, scent is much weaker, and high in ambroxan ???
Would it suit someone who goes skiing to France as well ? or is it only good in Austria?

So, you know, I was all psyched to like this and was recently given a sample, I had to wash it off almost right away, I really was unimpressed and didn't like it on my skin, almost immediately, just not for me, and it was almost completely uninteresting with a boring oud...maybe too simple for me...the tobacco is more in the middle for me and smells a little sickly to me. I feel like I'm missing something everyone else is enjoying, I don't get it... this is a complete no-go for me... But I always appreciate your detailed reviews immensely!! Cheers..
Should stick with it. It may grow on you, I feel like that with some fragrances but i force myself to wear it if i go for a walk etc and sometimes i fall in love with them. I felt the same about Tom Ford Black Orchid but now i really enjoy it .
I tried a sample of Herod and it just reminded me of an ashtray or cigarettes some.
seems clear that they need to come out with an intense version of this or an Elixir. cause everyone says it doesn't project or last long

As a female TF Tobacco Vanille goes masculine on me and Herod goes so sweet and feminine with a smooth tobacco in the background. I suppose chemistry with your skin type matters a bunch in this case.
Agreed. I wore both tonight and must say I feel much more confident as a man wearing TV. Herod is a very smooth, addicting scent though.

Agreed on the lack of longevity, the smell though is BEAUTIFUL. Would’ve been 10/10 for me if it could have just last a bit longer, it becomes skin scent for me after 15 min. I don’t get the peppery smell off the spray, immediately goes to the smooth tobacco/vanilla smell of the spray

herod or layton exclusif?
Smells beautiful in the dry down but, it's very weak. After an hour and a half it's down to skin scent. I expected more at that price. So I keep a backup bottle of Tom Ford: Black Orchid at the office, which will just choke everyone around you 😁

Performance? Longetivity,?
Herod smells beautiful. But the performance is disappointing in terms of projection and longevity.
I got myself 2 decants that actually show me the different juice color:
One is clear and yellowish
One has a very deep brown-redish juice color.
Both are authentic and both perform equally as disappointing.
It's such a shame because the scent itself is so beautiful, sweet, cherry tobacco with a hint of vanilla.

PdM Herod just doesn't perform on my skin. It smells extremely mild on me, which sucks because I really wanted to like it. Old Spice is a beast on me compared to Herod. So... I'm still looking for that tobacco or leather fall scent. I'm so glad I bought a decant instead of a blind buy.

I dont get pepper with herod. I get a cosy warm freshly baked cookie straight out of the oven with a tiny hint of tobacco.

Herod or Jazz Club?
You can smell that the quality of PDM Herod is above MMM Jazz Club... but I prefer the scent profile of Jazz Club.... I find it more interesting.... they are both good scents tho
I wanted to buy Herod due to the hype, but smelling it at the store, strangely the opening was not good (as if I smell bad leather but there is no leather ) the dry down is nice vanilla but I can not stand the opening, is it only me? anyway I loved Layton probably will buy it
I think Herod and pretty much all Tobacco scents are too masculine for females to wear

I just bought this. I actually LOVE oud, patchouli and I believe it's a sweeter side when it calms down you get the creamy vanilla. It's relaxing. Marketing is what separates "men" and "women" parfum. Maybe it's just me but women fragrance tend to be TOO floral and I walk away smelling like my grandmother

I think this one they either change formulations or it is a skin thing. Some people say the longevity is amazing!
I got it today, I sprayed it on my hand once, I washed my hand more than 4 times and after 5 hours I still smell it, it’s a skin thing as guys said!

Overhyped. Fantastic smelling fragrance but for the price its not worth it not even close. The perfomance is fairly bad and the price is astronomical. Be better off just buying spice bomb extreme

Nah, spicebomb extreme is alright but smells cheaper and very synthetic. And Herod’s performance is beast-like so I don’t know what your on about there, maybe you bought a fake? Did you buy your bottle from PDM directly or a discount website? It lasts and projects for hours on me and I can still smell it on my clothes 5 days later 😂

Parfums de Marly has REFORMULATED Herod. I own an older formulation which has an alcohol concentration of 78%. The new formulation I see in stores has 81% alcohol. My formulation is a dark orange / amber color. The new formulation is a very light, faint orange in color. The new formulation does not last as long and it smells different. Parfums de Marly fragrances are ALWAYS getting reformulated and become much weaker than their ORIGINAL releases. Parfums de Marly HAS NOT been transparent when it comes to the reformulation of their fragrances. Carlisle, Layton & Oajan have also been reformulated and have 3%-4% more alcohol in newer batches.
2 sprays of the current herod lasts me 8 hrs

Never been very impressed with this house. Sedley smells like household cleaner, Percival is basically Abercrombie and Fitch extreme, Layton is just purely overhyped. I ordered a bottle of this on Fragrancebuy just now on recommendations from friends, I hope it’s good. Xerjoff is a house that never disappoints. Never smelled anything I disliked from them. Just picked up Richwood and that is by far the best sandlewood fragrance I have ever smelled.
