The Zenistar, a relic of a bygone era. The Zenistar used to dominate the game, becoming one of the best melees for endless missions. However with the changes to melee from 2019, The Zeni has fallen, getting outclassed by new powerful weapons. With that said, could we make the Zenistar great again? Let's find out and dive into the Zenistar once more!

The section where I show the stealth multiplier is OLD STEALTH where gas would gain 512x since it was bugged on stealth melee
Zenistar is also probably the reason Blast got nerfed into oblivion as old Blast knocked enemies down on status, so blast Zenistar was an amazing tool to CC an area for missions like Interception.
But now heat just does that by stunning and electric

It’s nice seeing the Zenistar getting some love again. I’ll never forget getting it and having a blast only to be hit with the melee 3.0 changes like 2 weeks after lmao
It is hilarious how much they invested in trying to make melee more dynamic just for me to still prefer equipping a big as crit sword, kullervo, and spin fighting stile and just being a crit blender
I stumbled upon your channel a couple of days ago. I left the game around the fortuna update, but watching your extensive archive of old Warframe footage made me want to go back. Showing Warframe to my youngest brother and I feel like I'm learning along side him. Thanks man
Ferrox/Tenet Ferrox these days is the easier to use "trap' weapon, crowd controlling and debuffing enemies for 30 seconds. Ive tried to use zenistar somewhat recently but i feel it needs a riven mod to help stuff utility mods to help this thing gain combo.
Or use melee crescendo i guess, but good luck getting that maxed so you can stack the base combo in a reasonable time.
Also another darth fact, you used to be able to use the bubbles of the mutalist quanta to get negative blue crits with this weapon. I have not tested this in a very long time and i remember it getting fixed, but you throw out the zenistar disc and let mutalist quanta bubbles touch it over and over to stack crit damage, but you also lower your base damage for some reason. Eventually you would get negative blue numbers.
Zeni def needs a riven to bump it, base just feels.... super ass
Im torn on that helmet for voruna. On its own, i like it, but i think vorunas' overall design is too bulky for the helmet to mix well
You think that, then u use it for a bit then you'll realize "oh no yeah this is the superior version"

I like the design itself, i think it's just too smooth compared to the rest of her so it looks a little out of place
A good buff to Zenistar would be an increase to melee attack speed while the disc is deployed, to offset the temporary loss of heat damage
A good buff would be to take away that disk duration being dependent on that melee combo multiplier bs
@@andrewjackson5295or just make the duration extendable after the disc is thrown. That way you can drop the disc and then whack enemies to make it last longer

How much is a zenistar riven worth?(I have one)
i completely forgot channelling was a thing, i miss spamming it while bored for the lil noise and visual flare
Zenistar has always been my guilty pleasure melee, often modded for viral/radiation, which causes the disk to be viral/heat and the weapon post-deployment to be slash/shock, you can build up some nutty DoT with it like this while also priming enemies with viral and stun from the shock from the deployed disk.
It pairs extremely well with Lavos, since anything that so much as looks in your general direction will have viral/heat applied and then take triple damage at base from his 4. You can take it even further by replacing his 2 (personal preference) with Coil Horizon, vacuuming in everything within 20+ meters into the disk's AOE for easy cleanup and forcing everything you pull in to take that delicious +200% from his 4.
Throw on your favorite Incarnon primary/secondary and have fun never dying with periodic nukes and a ton of cc/utility.
The pink crits the PINK CRITS definitely color blind mode themed crits
Just tinkered with my old zenistar and loved using it to farm SP infested for over an hour solo. With gas and electric damage Influence pretty much rocked any mob that came my way save for stuff with overguard which my pistol quickly cleaned up. Even got my hands on a great riven to push the build to where I wanted it, giving me a 50s disc time

I used to play with the zenistar disc a lot. I still have it thanks to cross save and the Zenith while being below day 300.

God i miss channeling a little was a neat mechanic that felt satisfying i would love a weapon that had a speical channeling instead of a heavy attack trait
Despite the insane energy drain i enjoyed "overclocking" Excalibur's Exalted Blade by channeling and laughing maniacally at the giant f off laser beam it turned into.
@@Ixidora EXACTLY especially with Warframes massive energy economy now I really feel at least a frame that replaced heavies with channeling would be cool
Or is just a cast that acts like channeling in a sense makes your weapon exhausted

A "Weapon Master" Warframe, each ability corresponds to a weapon. No idea what the 4 would be tho, would be an awesome idea.
@@Ixidora 1 would be a channel for sure the last I feel it's only fitting is a nikana as this frame would be in line with Excalibur
I actually use this blade a ton on gyre, the disc can crit so a damage zone that can proc her rotorswell (cathod grace augment needed) is cool, also weapons like mutalist cernos and the gas clouds it leaves can also crit. These small pockets of lasting damage actually help to proc discharges a ton.
Btw with the newest update, blast is now a viable element for the disc instead of gas

I just did the obvious(maybe?) thing and combined with Kullervo. The guy who can build combo super-fast and his crit buff affects the disk and links enemies os they all take each others hits
I have 2 builds, max range and crit melee influence and mid range damage melee vortex. Wrathful Advance also works and to get electric working you need gas. Also works well with grouping since the gas and and electric also spread their own aoe so I use it with Vauban too
Since ive been playing with Zephyr more lately i noticed that Zenistar disc does oke together with Zephyr tornadoes

Have you tried the new Melee Afflictions arcane on the Zenistar? Heavy attacks can fling/lift enemies pretty easily with some of the stances, and the weapon already applies statuses often, so maybe it could be worth checking out

They need to release prime/umbra versions of these for tenno con.
Either way they're cool and deserve a form of updates, and it can be anything.
Outside of incarnon they'll never be meta, but at least theyd be fun and obviously different. I definitely believe they deserve some love. Tho zenith will probably stay boring lol

I picked this one first and regret it, hopefully this will be a good way to make it worth it
Honestly my biggest gripe with the current Zenistar is that you need to build up combo first and then throw the disc, because by that time everything is dead and the disc doesn't hit anyone.
I think it would be better to throw the disc first and then extend its duration by building up the combo counter. Bonus points if they let the disc hits affect the combo counter.
Another problem is that recalling the disc requires a charge attack and wastes the combo for no good reason. I think it'd be better of the recall was free.
With all the power creep and the numerous near afk nuke styles of play, de should just give all its fun quirks back.

Been using the zenistar for way too many years at this point if you can get yourself a riven with a attack speed and a Max initial combo and it'll probably end up being the only melee you'll use for the rest of your Warframe playtime

I used to build my Zenistar for Blast and Shock, this would StunLock anything that ran into its area of effect. For said reason i had named mine "10m Nope".

I miss old gas, and wish DE would increase the uptime on the disk to 20 seconds, and still increase by 10 at a time. Base 10 is so fucking low

The stealth dmg math is wrong. The multiplier is additive to crit dmg. So 4x crit + 8x stealth will be 12x damage. Increase of 3x instead of 8x.

We all planned this series of videos as a giant meme after the Phantasma responses, its working well surprisingly ;)
No idea why DE didn't give primed variants as a login reward. Imagine the joy of getting all 4 weapons primed, in a single pack, on day 2000 or something. DE could leave the current Zeni as is, and rework the primed, and give the rifle (name escapes me atm) void damage
