- Mike Bickle has had allegations of unspecified sexual misconduct made against him, and the leadership team of IHOPKC (International House of Prayer in Kansas City) has asked him to refrain from speaking or participating at IHOP events until they conclude their investigation into the allegations. At first I assumed that there must be compelling evidence to back up the allegations, but upon looking into the situation I'm not so sure about that. This video presents my findings and observations.

I went there to IHOPKC last summer when I almost lost my daughter to a medical condition. Not knowing anything about them but being in desperation I found my couple of weeks there at the Prayer Room and the church to be incredibly moving and God ordained. I was quite impressed with Mike and everyone, most especially the prayer ministers. Remarkably, even my daughter and her husband went there for another week with me and it was an miraculous God-experience for them. No one can tell me God isn't moving there!!!! When I was at the worst place in life I was deeply met by God, as was my family. Plus I didn't even know about IHOPKC, I was Divinely inspired to go!!

Thank you for one of the most honest and balanced responses to this situation. It's amazing how so many "Christians" abandon God's Word to rush to add their 2 cents worth of unbiblical input. What is interesting is that this occurred right after Mike called for extended time of fasting and prayer after the attack on Israel.
I was involved with a ministry where a woman who was one of the top in leadership said during a private conversation, “I have always hated him” speaking of the founder and leader of the ministry.
Sometimes the enemy really does rise up from within.
I wonder why people who "always hated him" stay where they are. Why dont they tell the truth or leave the place?

Thanks, brother. After watching Michael Brown's commentary a few days ago I was deeply saddened. Though he did not come to a solid conclusion, it seemed that another man of God had fallen. However, seeing your balanced and reasoned explanation today, has given me a better understanding of the situation. I am grateful for your thorough research into this, Rod, and it is my prayer that what we have before us is just another Parham, Lake, et al, incident. We'll see.

I appreciate your balanced approach. I know very little about mike Bickle. I had one of his recent UA-cam teachings auto load after another video finished. It was such a profound, anointed teaching. Life changing, eye opening. When I couldn’t access my downloaded copy to listen to it for the fourth time I came upon the controversy. I will presume innocence. Anyone as anointed as this man will be attacked.
I strongly agree with what you said. If there is a sin, it should be investigated and revealed, but it is strange that people in the ministry are quick to condemn the ministry and spread rumors to bury the ministry, and use hyperbole to shape public opinion. They are trying to bury Mike Bickle's preaching and ministry before the charges are confirmed.
"Ha Satan" is Hebrew for "The Accuser". We also know him to be the "Father of Lies". Jesus said "blessed are you...when people say all manner of evil falsely against you for My Name's sake". Mike is indeed blessed with the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God, and He will only continue to be moreso, now that these lies (most of them have been exposed as lies) have been leveled against him.
I've heard Mike preach about the devil's attacks through false accusations, and it is hilarious. He said that those who are used by the devil to slander the people of God are like men who approach a massive bonfire and shoot at it with little squirt guns to try and put it out.
When the glory of God is at stake (bonfire), their slander (squirt guns) has no effect on His glory whatsoever, and only serves to reveal their hearts - whether it is jealousy, arrogance, bitterness, or some other evil that needs exposed and rooted out of God's church.

Frankly, I believe it's hard to convict a man without the actual victims speaking out.
You have two women who have not accused him,one whose name was brought up somehow.
She is upset that they reached out to her.

There is something wrong here. I pray that our Lord brings clarity and His truth.
As has been revealed, some of the names of women put on the list have come forward and said they were put on the list without knowing about it, they had no bad relations with Bickle. A 3rd party put their names on the list without permission. This makes the credibility of the accusations questionable. If these women have accusations they should give their names. None of this has been handled in a biblical manner, there seems to have been a rush to make it public knowledge. Also, the woman who says there was a relationship 26 years ago may be unstable and her accusations wishful thinking. People are placing these women on this mystery list as victims when it is entirely possible and more likely that Bickle is the victim. Why is it that most people are acting like Bickle is guilty of abusing these women, especially when some of them were put on the list without anyone making the charges discussing it with them? Makes the 3 men and Hood look guilty of slander.
There are groups that seek to divide the body of Christ and groups that seek to build it up. At least since there has been testimony that they manipulated the victims, a clear group of criminals already exists.

Thank you for another voice of reason. It’s not disrespectful to possible victims to handle this according to the basic tenants of your biblically influenced justice system; a person is considered innocent until actually proven to be guilty. Turn efforts to doing all possible to insure the investigation is unbiased toward all and feels safe for those who might be victims.

@@JacobSerwinski-fx3on This has nothing to do with doctrine. In case you haven't noticed all parties involved have essentially the same theology. This is about evidence. Bob Jones confessed. Mike Bickle hasn't confessed to anything, so until he does we have to wait for evidence to be presented, and as of now all we have is vague allegations from anonymous victims and one credible (as the IHOP leaders put it) allegation dating back to 1997. Hardly enough to end a man's ministry.

I don't know what's going on with any of this but what I find to be DISGUSTING is that one lady making it VERY crystal clear that she has never been abused in any way by Mr. Bickle and they put her name on the list anyway. That is called LYING. If people are willing LIE like that what other things might they be willing lie about? Apparently in the effort to build a case TRUTHFULNESS is not a valued commodity.
Exactly - and Misty (Edwards) is not the only one to call them out on their lies. There have been at least three others who said that the allegations regarding them were false. The credibility of the complainers has been blown to bits at this point. IF there was any inappropriate behavior from Mike, which seems highly unlikely at this point, the complainers have ruined the victim's chance to address the situation because they included her story among their outright lying.

I’m not surprised Mike has not refuted these claims. He has maintained for many years that the Lord has made it clear that he is not to refute accusations against him. So this is not out of character could be a cover I realize that, but it is not out of character. 0:59

"presumption of innocence" and "beyond a reasonable doubt" are court standards and should not be the standard for a Christian leader. Your advice to relax and wait for evidence is a good one. I am concerned however about victims being named who deny being victims. That is significant evidence for questioning the allegations.
Well the concept of presumption of innocence is based on the OT law, and is contained in the Talmud. It seems to work pretty good in our court system so I don't see why we can't apply it when it comes to church matters like this one. What standard do you suggest as an alternative?
@@JewandGreek I don't have the exact standard but I do know that it should not be that. Credible multiple allegations would disqualify leadership within the church; well before court standard proof. Biblically, this would be a job of the elders to discern. However, in the example of Mike Bickle, there doesn't appear to be any evidence provided but not only that, the presence of named victims denying being victims is a problem for whomever is making the allegations and not really a problem for Mike Bickle. That being said, I have never heard of Mike Bickle or IHOPKC before and cannot provide any further thoughts.
No matter what, a Christian will be in good standing with God if they are not guilty of that which they have been accussed of. The one making false accussations of a Christian has more to worry about.
I beg to differ. Actually, the biblical mandate is to judge, not, lest ye be judged, to look at the speck in your own eye, to bear one another’s burdens (not kay bare one another’s sins) and to stay out of the business unless it’s directly your business to be in. Too many people are taking too many judgmental stances and jumped into many conclusions. It’s Corinthian, and it’s completely unbiblical. And out of the spirit of Christ. God is our judge. We rise and stand before him. And given the fact that Mike is not even on staff at the church, Rod his made a very very good point in this regard. I have no doubt the Holy Spirit is grieved at the slanderous accusations being banded about on social media over this matter. People need to put down their stones and examine them selves. Their hearts. Their motivations. And yes, their actions and their heart conditions. If we all did that, we would be a lot better off in the body of Christ.
@@johnmarknielsen I think you are conflating the beginning of Matthew 7 with elders discerning what to do about a wayward Christian. In 1 Cor 5:1-5 we learn that Paul was concerned about a report of a Christian doing some weird sexual stuff. Paul gave instructions to the elders about the proper course of action. But as I said, the problem here referenced in the video by Rod seems to be that not only are the allegations questionable but you have "victims" denying they are victims. This is not really consistent with credible allegations.

I guess my reason for quoting Matthew 7 was to throw a blanket over all the people on social media who are jumping to all kinds of judgmental conclusions. By "Corinthian" I simply meant carnal knee jerk reactions. So Rod's "presumption of innocence" is what I was defending. I think that is a good default posture for people who don't know what is going on to take. The validity of these accusations is also impacted because all three of the people on the statement are former leaders of IHOPKC I’d like to know why they left.
One left because he reported an incident to leadership and wanted something set up to avoid mishandling of things in the future. They refused. So, he couldn’t, in good conscience, stay and support that system.

Scratch that. I did a little more research and I don't see any current affiliation with IHOP. So it would be interesting to hear about why they left.
Ugh. Why do you consider that a mark against them?? They left after seeing things that needed changing, but leadership refused. When you can no longer stay in good conscience, you leave.

I disagree that accusations are brought without the victims and evidence brought at the same time.
Right now, it's hearsay, but it is doing a number on Bickles' reputation,so I guess you do not need evidence to ruin someone anymore.

I will say, one of the most powerful manifestations of God I have ever experience happened at Forerunner Church, but I felt an evil presence at IHOP, people were falling asleep from boredom, although I know many who received miracles for the Lord there. Where there is faith and those walking under the law of the Spirit, Christ can be found! Darkness has to flee.

But there is a reason for this principle. There has been many cases of someone having been accused by one person, their life being destroyed, and then turning out to have been a false accusation. There has to be a balance.

For some one who said they didn’t know anything about Mike Bickle you sure went on and on about nothing.
You think the presumption of innocence is nothing? You think it's irrelevant if some of the "victims" claim that they weren't victims? You think Mike Bickle's well established approach of not responding to allegations is nothing? What I said was that I've never met MB or attended IHOPKC, so I don't have any personal experience to draw from. Instead I go from analyzing what information is accessible. If you prefer to jump to conclusions based on ignorance and emotions that's up to you, but there's a lot of people out there who prefer to make informed decisions.

It hasn't been made public, but apparently the "victims" were made aware of it because the Sunday update from the IHOPKC leadership team mentioned the fact that "some of the women who were named in the allegations have publicly refuted that they were ever victims of abuse".

Allen hood also has a statement on his webpage…. there are tons of inappropriate and sexual abuse that happens and has happened at ihopkc I’ve seen it and experienced it .. anyone who has ever come forward, has always been swept under the rug or told by other people not to come forward, because I didn’t want to ruin a “good man’s “ reputation

My wife and I were full time students at FSM (later called IHOP-U) for 3 semesters around 2005 - 2006 and we neither saw, nor heard of, nor experienced any inappropriate and sexual abuse during our time there.
I am terribly sorry to hear that you experienced this, and I pray that truth comes to light so the abuser is stopped and you can have a sense of closure. I also pray that you are healed completely from the effects of the abuse, and that God will show you how He will redeem your sufferings.

I can tell you it isn't a speculation. I witnessed it with my own eyes. But the moral of the story is we are all sinners and easily fell into temptation. Nobody should be surprised when this happens because we are human beings

Being an eye witness doesn't mean you're involved. Any bystander can be an eye witness. I don't need to "confess" to anyone about anything, especially to those having trouble understanding the English language.
I would suspect the law firm engage as an independent investigator in this matter will be contacting you regarding what you saw with your own eyes

Some of this reminds me of the Brett Kavanaugh hearings.
They are NOT anonymous. They are known to those with whom they’ve been in counseling, to their husbands, and to other godly leaders who are advocating on their behalf.
If you had experienced sexual assault/abuse by someone more powerful than you, then you would understand why some victims choose to remain anonymous (anonymous to the public but not to the investigators and courts).
You could also put yourself in the shoes of sexual assault victims.
Putting ourselves in others' shoes is what we do when we love our neighbor as ourselves.

Abusers don't abuse in front of witnesses. That's the entire point.
They wait until they get the person ALONE.
And abusers prey on the weak, the vulnerable and the UNconfident: people who don't think much of themselves.
That's exactly the reason why most children don't report abuse and why most women don't.
They (wrongly) blame themselves and, because they lack self-esteem and self-confidence, they assume nobody will believe them.
Just because Misty wasn't abused doesn't mean anything at all about the other victims. This should be obvious. Do better please.
I never claimed otherwise, but it does call into question the credibility of those bringing the allegations doesn't it? According to IHOPKC's own statement on Sunday some of the women who were listed as victims dispute the allegations. That's pretty messed up. And according to April Rose they tried to convince her that she was a victim, sending her literature on clergy sexual abuse. She said that Dwayne Roberts is pushing an evil agenda. That's also pretty messed up, don't you think?

Regardless of if Mike did this or not he is a proven false teacher. His sermons have been meticulously dissected by many biblical scholars and true pastors using his own video clips and line by line through scripture to prove that he is a false teacher and prophet. He has gotten many predictions wrong and many of his teachings do indeed contradict scripture. The contradictions are so obvious that even my 4-year-old can see them. I'm not sure what you were trying to accomplish with this video but as with all your videos, this one was also meaningless.
What I successfully accomplished is I presented facts for the viewers to provide clarity. In case you haven't noticed all parties involved in this matter have essentially the same theology. This has nothing to do with doctrine. Nobody approves of sexual abuse, regardless of their theology. People like you are just trying to take advantage of this situation to score points for your little discernment club.

Where was the gossip? I used IHOP's statements, Sam Storm's article, and social media posts from two women who know Mike Bickle, along with a clip from Mike Bickle's last sermon.

It just tickles the ears of the gossipy ones though I don’t think you are doing that. Dr Mike Brown gave a wonderful sermon to the forerunner church family yesterday which addresses this and he too has made a video about what is happening. But he is imploring all who would have ears to hear to stop putting any content at all, even measured content like your own on social media. I think he’s right.
