Witchspring R Is a great game for anyone who enjoys RPGs - for sure gotta give away a copy of this one. What do you make of it??? Mark and Glen Click my link bit.ly/3MTh4pk to check out WitchSpring R! Now it's on sale on Nintendo Switch and Steam Turn-Based RPG Fest 2024, also available on PS5.
Someone who played all 4 witch springs here While yes, there were changes (tons of it really), this is still in essence the start of the series. Thus there's tons of backstory as well as information not discussed since Pieberry is all about reviving the springs. To introduce the other 3 Witch Spring 2- Luna's story (yes the Luna). A half diety and is one of the few that knew Lucia when she's still very little (time when there's still no witch hunts). As seen from her conversations with Lucia, she's had a very rough time. Witch Spring 3-Eirudy's story. The marionette witch. New continent called Derkarr. A favorite for many and has its remaster(?) as WS Re:Fine. Had multiple playthroughs because the consequences of your decisions very much affect the ending you'll have. Witch Spring 4- Moccamori's story. My personal favorite. New continent called Urphea. Our little queen Mocca not only starts as strong (if not stronger) as your typical end game character in previous title. This is a spoiler but not really that important. The pope as well as Jude retreated the first time they met Mocca. Urphea stayed free from the Pope's influence because of her. Based on dev interviews, she was the weakest but became the strongest of all protagonists, hell she might even be stronger than well known Deities like Aramute.
Just for this alone i subscribed! Ive been playing Witch Spring R and I love it! So sad to see no ones making more videos about it when it sooo good!!!!
I’m a big fan of the gameplay loop! It looks like they’ve nailed the pacing of the game with a combination of exploration, dungeon crawling, and crafting.
Thank you for the overview. This looks like a comfy and cute JRPG and I'm glad to hear it has a faster pace than Atelier. I see there's a physical collectors edition for the game coming out in January. Since I like the artsyle and am a sucker for artbooks and mini figures, I went ahead and ordered that edition of the game.
One of the best games I’ve ever ever played. I played on steam before it released on console. It’s cute, it’s clever, it’s funny, it’s cute, it’s challenging and it’s cute! I hated Atelier games, and I didn’t miss the English voice acting at all (For reference of my preferences) lol it really surprised me and I wish more people would try it. So many good memories from this game. I love the animation and art style and personalities in this game.
So as somonenwho loves the atelier games, do you think I would still like this. Do you like it because it's nothing like atelier, or do you love it inspire of not liking ateleier?
I love RPGs but the Atelier games never clicked with me either and I end up avoiding all games that have Atelier like aspects. Witchspring R does look so charming and the story sounds unique. I think I have to give it a try.
Guys. Please. Stop recommending great games to me. My wallet and backlog cant handle it anymore. Cease and desist i say. 😂 No, just kidding. Keep doing what you're doing lads. If my wallet and backlog cant handle it, my wishlist can. Adding games into my wishlist is free after all. Thankfully. 😅
Indeed looks great!! Also I want to say "Deliver Us The Moon" is on sale with higher discount than before, just in case you havent noticed, its unmissable opportunity
I get the feeling this will be one of those RPGs, that I have no idea about. But if I played would hook and blow me out the Skye - like skies of arcadia did when I played it originally on Dreamcast. Definitely one for my wishlist, thanks guys 🤩
Lately, all the games I've been playing through in my backlog have been big, heavy, thinky JRPGS - Eiyuden, SMTV Vengeance, Etc. Sometimes, you just need a nice palate-cleanser which is a bit lighter, and this looks like a fun little number to fill the void before Romancing Saga 2 Remake. Thanks for letting me know about it!
I was wondering about this game. I put it on my wish list when it released last month but never got around to checking a review for it so I'm glad you're covering it. Art style looks really nice so it caught my eye.
I've been waiting for this one, I checked the other Witchspring game on the Switch but it wasn't quite what I wanted, this one tho is the exact gameplay loop I've been looking for, I'm very excited to play it
No one has covered this and i am so happy you have now, I'm looking forward to the 11th of oct now since I think a physical copy will be available and it looks interesting based on what you showed
I have a hard time playing super fast pace games due to health issues so i always look for turn base games. This looks like something i can enjoy! Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
This game looks so fun and cute. The visuals are absolutely adorable. I've only played a bit of Atelier Ryza, and I enjoy it, so the comparison between the games makes me want to play it even more. I'm so glad you guys covered this game. For a while now, I've tried to hold off on buying games from series that I'm not familiar with until I see your reviews. ❤
Would've been very excited to see some of these design choices as upgrades to the Atelier series. Surprised it's a standalone game, can't believe I've never heard of it
I CAN'T wait to play this!!! I'm holding out for the physical release, unless of course I win a code here, haha. Nice review. I liked how you gave Atelier fans a point of reference and how this will compare. I think the visuals looks super cute. I like the idea of playing an Atelier like game with this kind of perspective. I enjoyed the remake of Atelier Marie and this kind of reminds me of it... a LITTLE bit, but with a lot more strategy.
I dunno if the added features and content made this game worth $40, but let me give a shout out to witch spring 4. For the price of a cheap micro transaction (like $6) you'll get one of the most charming experiences you could ask for. It plays very without playing any of the previous titles (although they will make you curious). I also like many of the track in witch.spring 4 too.
The MC being referred to as ‘savage’ is what intrigues me the most about this game! I’m a … chaotic gamer >.> allegedly. So any time a game supports that, I’m all in! That type of humor is right up my alley! Definitely looking forward to giving this a go!
Loved Witch Spring 3 Refine on switch so much! WSR IS a remake of the first game and WS3R is a remake of the 3rd game. Been looking forward to the console release of this one, really happy it's doing well! I really recommend WS3R too!
I have been waiting for this game! I originally wanted to play the Witch Spring 3 remaster for switch, but this was announced shortly after. I love the dark humor and the cuteness of the main character. The Atelier vibes are good for me as well, since I do like those games. Thank you for covering the review for this.
Eeeek! Thank you! I hadn’t heard about this gem and am totally gonna pick it up! The graphics and gameplay look amazing! The approval and review from you guys is the cherry on top! 🍒
I actually came across this on the eShop a bit ago and it intrigued me enough to look it up, and was able to find a physical releasing in a few days (October 11th) and pre-ordered it. Personally not a huge fan of no English VAs but it’s cute art style and fun looking gameplay outweighs that, can’t wait to try it out
Since owning a steam deck (just over a year now) my switch has been passed down to my kids. But if it wasn't for you guys I'd have missed out on plenty of games, and you keep me coming back to the switch! This has been on my Steam wishlist since launch and now I'm even more interested! Thanks guys! See Ya!
I've only recently started playing RPG's and I'm constantly looking for new and interesting ones to play (I love a good story), this one looks like it's going to have to go on my list. From the cute pie obsessed witch with her soldier throwing golem, to the lovely colour palette, what's not to love. I'm looking forward to sinking my time into this one. Thanks for the review :)
The art style of this game is so beautiful! It almost looks painted. And the fact that it’s faster paced than Atelier games is a big plus - I’ve tried to get into the Atelier series a couple of times but haven’t got it right yet because of the slow pace in the beginning 😅 So this is definitely going on my wishlist!
Wow I just love the painterly look of this. I’ve played the Atelier games since the PS3 so this is super up my alley. I’m so glad I watched this cause I had no idea!
I've seen a few videos on this game now and as someone who just started dabbling in atelier and similar type games this looks surprisingly fun. And best of all, I see no mentions of time limits.
I really like art style a lot. Invokes memories of games with similar art styles. No Rest For The Wicked comes to mind. I also love the fact you can automate tasks and battles once you’ve done them enough
Great review, Gents! I just know my daughter would love that one: the kawaii factor is of the charts, and it’s mostly wholesome (except for the rabbits… 😉). Looking forward to those cozy coop sessions. 🥰
The art style looks sublime and I think my oldest would get a kick out of a witch doing anything to get her next pie 🤣 Great vid and thanks for the chance!
I'm also a fan of the Atelier games, so cute anime style characters going around collecting ingredients and doing alchemy is definitely up my alley. Pokemon is my other favorite series, so the monster collecting also seems fun. Definitely putting this one on my wishlist! Thanks for the review
this game looks fantastic, i was just thinking about purchasing one of the ateliar series, however this has everything i want from a rpg, monster catching, automated things, and grinding. im seriously considering this one now instead. this was an amazing review well done guys
I would love to try out this game, was super into rune factory 4 and recently found the atelier series, great to know such games are still coming out for us to enjoy
I subscribed to you guys last week after seeing g your review of Bloomtown, which I bought along with Beyond Galaxytown on your recommendation. This looks like another joyful addition to my wishlist! (A word of warning though. If my wife cottons on that I'm buying so much, I'm totally blaming both of you lol!)
I'm currently playing Warhammer 40000: Boltgun. I just put 70 hours into Space Marine 2. And here I am, putting this in my cart on Amazon. Lol Jokes aside, this does look oddly charming. I play all kinds of stuff but haven't tried the Atelier series. I have Ryza 1&2 though, just in my backlog. I'm particularly interested in the art style and the mixture of camera angles and presentation. It's got isometric bits, traditional turn based combat angles, and then more cinematic angles during the longer conversations. I like the mixture of all of these different camera types because I'm a fan of some, and not of others. So I think a little bit of exposure to something I usually wouldn't like will help me find new games that I'd otherwise pass up.
I cant deny, I've seen this game in the eShop, and I wasn't sure what to think about it. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, fellas! I'll might consider picking it up once I finish the new Legend of Zelda game, which I haven't been able to put down every time i boot up my switch! Cheers, lads!

I definitely have not, and would not give this a secind look. Thanks to this video, im picking it up! Stoked to start playing it tonight , thank you as always gents! I appreciate the small discount on the eshop credit too! Making the purchase in a few hours
WitchSpring R has been on mywishlist for a while. I loved the style from first glance but was unsure whether I would enjoy the gameplay. Now, I really want to try this game!
Wow I'd love to win a copy from that. This game looks relaxing for my anxiety and depression haha. I love the art style and the catching element. I wonder if I can master it.
You guys crack me up. While I don't share her affinity for pie... I really don't like rabbits. So, I'd take them out with so much joy. Thanks for a fun video.
I love the familiar/pet part of the game, but I've never played an Atelier nor a crafting/simulation game. The visuals look amazing , and I like that there is combat. And the pet... but I've only played classic rpgs like FF Octopath, Persona, Pokemon, and Xenoblade series. But I keep seeing this everywhere, and it intrigues me!
This is so cute. I've never played the Atelier series, but would love to jump on this one. It reminds me of Ragnarok online. The game I used to play back in highschool.
Never even heard of this series but thanks for bringing it to my attention. The music and artsyle going to make me die of diabetes on how cute and sweet it is lol.
Unlike the most RPG character where the protagonist most likely is mute/unspeaking, this one of the most active protagonist. Especially the comedy between she and her familiar and others characters too, make the game feel alive. The voice act were cute. Simple gameplay, not too much grinding, very enjoyable.
Witchspring R Is a great game for anyone who enjoys RPGs - for sure gotta give away a copy of this one. What do you make of it??? Mark and Glen
Click my link bit.ly/3MTh4pk to check out WitchSpring R! Now it's on sale on Nintendo Switch and Steam Turn-Based RPG Fest 2024, also available on PS5.
I would have missed so many of my most enjoyable games if it wasn’t for switchup reviews, my most enjoyable gaming channel. Thank you much guys!!

The art style on this one really appeals to me. I wish more games looked like an anime that you can control rather than aspiring to “realism”.
Just for this alone i subscribed! Ive been playing Witch Spring R and I love it! So sad to see no ones making more videos about it when it sooo good!!!!
Great game and welcome to the channel mate! Mark
I’m a big fan of the gameplay loop! It looks like they’ve nailed the pacing of the game with a combination of exploration, dungeon crawling, and crafting.

I finished it last friday, despite some framedrops on the cutscenes....it was one of the best and most carismatic jrpgs that i've ever played.
Yeah really great game
One of the best games I’ve ever ever played. I played on steam before it released on console. It’s cute, it’s clever, it’s funny, it’s cute, it’s challenging and it’s cute!

It’s our civic duty to… I think 😂

Yeah it’s quality! Mark
As a fellow lover of baked confections, Pieberry sounds like a protagonist after my own heart.
I don't really have time to play video games nowadays since I started school again, and you keep adding to my never ending backlog
Lately, all the games I've been playing through in my backlog have been big, heavy, thinky JRPGS - Eiyuden, SMTV Vengeance, Etc. Yeah. My daughter would eat this up. Thankfully she has her own switch so she wouldn’t hog the switch to play this all the time.
Ok
No one has covered this and i am so happy you have now, I'm looking forward to the 11th of oct now since I think a physical copy will be available and it looks interesting based on what you showed

This seems like quite the visual upgrade based on that quick clip of the original. Seems like a cute and wholesome game
"A game that respects your time "
That sold me immediately. I wish more games would get into streamlining
I got this for my SteamDeck but I’ll be buying it again for switch. You convinced me to play it again! Lol
I dunno if the added features and content made this game worth $40, but let me give a shout out to witch spring 4. It plays very without playing any of the previous titles (although they will make you curious). I also like many of the track in witch.spring 4 too.
I played this on PC back then, and it was such a charming cute little RPG. I preordered the Switch limited edition just due to this.

you can tell that a lot of love went into creating this game
“Respects your time” is something I’ve come to appreciate when having two kids😂Definitely a large plus for a game
The art design of this game is adorable and so well made. Cozy game to play in family. Nice!
I have been waiting for this game! I originally wanted to play the Witch Spring 3 remaster for switch, but this was announced shortly after.
I love the dark humor and the cuteness of the main character. The Atelier vibes are good for me as well, since I do like those games.

Looks very charming. I appreciate that it lets you know if you’ve got time to pop the kettle on before enemies respawn

This game looks adorable. Love seeing more unique turn-based rpgs on the system.

I have no time to play video games right now with my new born, but you guys are making my backlog longer and longer!!!! 😂
Congrats with the little one mate. Mark
Looks super cute! Glad you could give it a bit of coverage. I was curious about this one.
Definitely looks like a game i would enjoy having in my backlog for the winter
I got witch spring 3 on switch a couple years back on a whim and turned out to be alot of fun I liked the look of it this one looks very fun also
Thank you for the recommendation. This would be the first of this genre I'll give a try. Can't wait for black Friday or Christmas sales.
Wow, this looks amazing. Like the art style and the dark humour very much.
Thank you for the review, it landed immediately on my wish list.
I'm also a fan of the Atelier games, so cute anime style characters going around collecting ingredients and doing alchemy is definitely up my alley. Pokemon is my other favorite series, so the monster collecting also seems fun. Definitely putting this one on my wishlist! Thanks for the review
Waiting for my physical copy 😊 - I am happy you boys enjoyed it - I cannot wait to play it ❤
The art looks awesome. Had my eye on this in the eshop for a while. Thanks for the review.
this game looks fantastic, i was just thinking about purchasing one of the ateliar series, however this has everything i want from a rpg, monster catching, automated things, and grinding. im seriously considering this one now instead. this was an amazing review well done guys

Welcome aboard! ❤ - Mark
Looks fun. I see it as a sponsored ad quite often on reddit, which actually made me initially dismiss it until I looked into it a bit more.
I've had this on my wishlist for ages! It looks great and really pleased to see you guys reviewing it, is a game that feels made for me 😊 ❤
I can‘t wait to play this, I am a fan of the Atelier games and this seems like a good variety inbetween. The artstyle looks so cute and charming
The music alone has me sold! Would love to play it x
This really grabbed my attention. I like the Atelier games and having a familiar who can help you fight looks fun!
I'm currently playing Warhammer 40000: Boltgun. I just put 70 hours into Space Marine 2. And here I am, putting this in my cart on Amazon. Lol
Jokes aside, this does look oddly charming. I like how laid back this game looks. And it seems cute too!
This looks cute as hell! And I’m a sucker for anything witchy. Might have to look this one up 🧙
1 minute into the video and im into the game. How did i missed this. Thanks switchup for the clutch
I like the art style a lot! I love the Atelier series, but I like the ways this game differs. I’ll have to check it out!
The game looks so charming and fun! Can't believe I missed this one. Thanks for putting this on my radar 😄
I cant deny, I've seen this game in the eShop, and I wasn't sure what to think about it. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, fellas! I'll might consider picking it up once I finish the new Legend of Zelda game, which I haven't been able to put down every time i boot up my switch!
Cheers, lads!
ohhh, I love this! Def convinced me 😊
Leaving a comment to raise awareness on this game. its only 20 hours long but I loved every second of it.
the art direction really sold me i def wanna check this 1 out
Only just bought Bloomtown after your recommendation, can't keep buying these but ah well, got to love a good RPG :p
That art style and gameplay loop looks amazing
I have not tried the atelier series because I have heard it is very slow but the art style of this is fantastic and fun. A little faster.
Added to Wishlist!
Looks good for my Switch Lite 🔥
I like the graphics.
I'm a big fan of JRPGs, particularly the Atelier series. The design and colour palette of this game reminded me a lot of that series and also the anime Violet Evergarden. I'm eager to play it, for sure it will move up to the top of my backlog.
I dont know how this game slipped under my radar. Thank you SwitchUp. Im going to have to pick this up 🤙🏽
Have this game on android way back, but haven't got the chance to play it. Now I can definitely play this game.
Ah yes. My backlog is growing enormously with this
Honestly the best looking part of this game is the hunt for pies. This a motivation I can relate to.
As someone who recently finished it on Steam , I can confirm that it's good 👍
I definitely have not, and would not give this a secind look. Thanks to this video, im picking it up! Stoked to start playing it tonight , thank you as always gents! I appreciate the small discount on the eshop credit too! Making the purchase in a few hours
The art style is really cute and the combat looks fun. I’d love to give this one a try!
This looks so cute and I'm loving the savagery of the adorable witch! lol Can't wait to play it. 😄
Thanks for a fun video.
reason why I skipped witch spring series. Whichspring 3 on switch is about 40 dollars.
Same game on phones: 5 dollars.
The one on switch is a remake from the ground up, fully voice acted too. Same with this one. This one is a remake of the first game.
I had this on my wishlist for a couple of weeks now. Performance seems rough on Switch so I will get it on PS5
Good game for sure. Mark
I love the visuals with this one. Those colours make me want to move there. And I do love pies
Just starting the Atelier series myself, with them all being on sale at the moment. If I click with that I'll see if I want to pick this up later on.
Never even heard of this series but thanks for bringing it to my attention. The music and artsyle going to make me die of diabetes on how cute and sweet it is lol.
Nice. I'm a sucker for a good crafting/magical RPG. I'll have to add this to the wishlist. Too many good releases atm to afford them all, haha.
Unlike the most RPG character where the protagonist most likely is mute/unspeaking, this one of the most active protagonist. Especially the comedy between she and her familiar and others characters too, make the game feel alive. The voice act were cute. Simple gameplay, not too much grinding, very enjoyable.
that is because pieberry is a actual character and not simply a vessel to insert yourself into like other silent rpg protagonists
I like the creature design. It looks like something I could play with my daughter.
"fires a bolt of lightning to their head" huh, that's an interesting way of getting rabbits.
