I feel like u are the "McGyver" of the craft world. Haha! I feel I can give u 3 random items and u would turn it into decor! 😁
Ohhh! I would love that challenge!!
This is GREAT. I've used the brown fast-food napkins for years for paper mache as it mimcs that of days gone by. But this us amazing...
Perfect to decoupage with!
Beautiful and easy. I am going to try this with beets cooked water, I did it to color regular paper and I like it very much
I've seen this before with the coffee but never without and I REALLY like it - I think it shows the texture of the paper beautifully... maybe I'll even add some dried tea for a little something extra! Thanks for the nudge!
Hugs from the southern California desert, MK 🏜 🤗
Oh! And PS... apparently my son was hungry after work last night and swung through Yaco Bell on the way home. How did I know you ask? Because he brought me something too? LOL - - yeah. No. Because he left his napkins on the table. Brought somethin' home for mama after all. 😉
Thanks for watching ! Glad you enjoyed . What a great idea to add tea!! Might have to try that
I have never seen this technique. It is so cool!
Thanks for watching ! Glad you enjoyed Sabricia
I would never have guessed. Wow.
Thanks for watching ! Glad you enjoyed Connie
My “rice paper” hack is using tracing paper. It will go through a printer. Also if one is using an ink jet printer. Make sure the ink is completely dry. I’ll leave it overnight or use a hair dryer. Then you can lightly brush or spray glue over it to seal it. Is it kinda fussy? Yes, but it is a definite use what you got!
Yes tracing paper is great for this also!
Would white tissue paper work the same way?
Wow..love this..I am a junk journaler and this would make a beautiful page in a signature!
Sure will!
Wow! What an awesome technique. I'll never think of fast food napkins the same again. Thanks so much for showing us all your creativity and ideas, they never get old so keep'em coming. Have a great day!
Every time you go to a restaurant you will want to put a few in your purse!! lol
Another amazing “To Do” project! I was feeling a bit blue these days after my battle with Covid, but you have brought a huge ray of sunlight into my life! I will definitely make a few sheets of these beautiful faux rice papers soon! Thank you so very, very much! ❤️❤️❤️
Oh no sweetie! I hope you are feeling better :) Glad to brighten your day
Thank you Deidre 😊
Great idea! I have just printed vintage photos and graphics on my fast food napkins, but this is a great idea for faux rice paper! TFS the inspiration!
Glad this video was helpful! Thanks for watching Gail
It looks like vellum. Wow. If you printed a religious icon with Latin and glue onto timber, it would be another clever dupe.
WOW! From nose wiper car napkins to beautiful rice paper! Need to try this.
Thanks for watching ! Glad you enjoyed
Oh wow! The possibilities are endless with this! I bet you could stamp images or words on the napkin before applying the water and glue mixture. It would be perfect for a lantern! I am getting married in September and am making all the decorations and I will definitely try this! Thank you so much for sharing this technique!❤❤
So many possibilities!! My son is getting married in August so I will be doing a decor video soon!!
@@OurUpcycledLife yes! Can't wait for it!

Those turned out awesome! Around here they never give napkins anymore! Lol (From a prior post) I turned my scissors into a "jute station" caddy. I spray painted my vintage over sized scissors black. Put them in a tall Ball jar. I rolled up two skeins of Dollar Tree jute into balls. I kept part of the string sticking out and used a mini clothes pin to keep it up on the lip of the jar. It's so cute sitting in my kitchen window! 🪟
Oh I would love to see it! Send me a pic over on my facebook page if your following over there :)

I noticed you use instant coffee to color your paper. I just want to help by saying that food used in art can possibly create mold in your supplies. Instant and regular coffee if left in a cup will grow mold. Even tea will grow mold. But mold is a weird thing and I don't know how easy it is to start a mold bloom. Conditions have to be right. Art supplies are often damp in jars and tubes or wet at times, and mold likes that. In college my art professor didn't let us have food in class. He made us fungus phobic. It's forty years later and I have never had mold in my art supplies. I don't eat where I paint, and I wash my hands before touching them. That reduces the chance of mold and cross contaminating all your paints, brushes, glues, etc. Then they all have to be replaced. I didn't feel comfortable mentioning this, but it's good to know if you work with watery type art supplies. Most people don't know it can happen. And there is no guarantee it will. But there is a risk where food and damp art supplies meet. Hope that helps. You can always research it.
Cool!!!!
Thanks
I love your videos. Trash to Treasure!😍
So glad your enjoying! Thanks for watching Beverly
I really love this technique! I made a video a few years ago on printing on napkins, and you are right.......laser printer is best if you are going to get it wet like you did for this technique, where as ink jet printer works best when not doing a wet technique. I have only used the white part of napkins (some printed napkins have a white section), but I never thought of using the fast food napkins and I really love that idea. Thank you so much for sharing 😊 Hugs.....Janie
I love the colour of the fast food napkins !
Just found you on UA-cam New follower here Thx for sharing

WOW!
Thanks for watching ! Glad you enjoyed
What a great technique!!! You always have great new ideas for us!
Have you thought of dissolving the coffee in the water before adding the glue? If you started with warm water, you would have to mix it up so much.
Much love from Nova Scotia!
Hi there from Ontario! Well that might make it a bit easier to incorporate but find it is harder to get colour i wanted when adding
You should have a million subscribers. There's not a video where I don't learn something new.
Well thanks so much!! The more crafting friends the better :)
Would look amazing if you could use a floral napkin.
Sure would!! Thanks for watching Stephanie
I’ve done something similar with leftover tissue paper (from presents) with clear silicone caulk. I think the glue would make it much easier! The caulk takes a long time to dry.
Oh never tried that!
Funny how techniques change. We always called this faux glassine paper. We always thought of rice paper made with rice starch. Fun to see everyone’s take on the resurgence of techniques. Your tan restaurant napkins is a great color for the technique. Thanks for sharing.
Yes I also have a few techniques I use to make faux glassine or vellum paper
I did this using plastic wrap as my non-stick surface. I just tape the plastic wrap down with painter's tape so that it doesn't move around then apply the glue solution the plastic wrap and then to the napkin or tissue paper. It is very easy to remove the napkin from the plastic wrap, and you can reuse the plastic wrap two or three times. The side of the napkin facing down on the plastic wrap becomes very shiny.
Great tips!! I will give that a go and try it. Thanks for watching ! Glad you enjoyed Connie
Could you decoupage with this? Very cool. Thank you. ❤️
Sure could!
