can you please do Mike Tyson vs Buster Douglas
so glad this whole saga is documented for future generations, and for the older fans to enjoy and remember the amazing story these 2 legends brought
I never really watched boxing. So these videos are great for me. These fights were great and I'm glad someone took the time to archive these for people like me to appreciate these moments in history
I love how much respect they have for each other. Both of them never bad mouth the opponents. Such classy fighters!
Greatest boxing rivalry of the 21st century.
Hard to blame Marquez for not wanting to go back to the wheelhouse for a 5th. The damage he took from those big shots must've took it's toll. Pacquiao was never the same either. Stylistically, he knew he had to change if he wanted to continue to be an elite level boxer.
Lol
Marquez closed the chapter.
What more was it to prove?
He is SIX years older, so Marquez was already retiring.
@@mikeyrose4183 Well, he didn't retire til 2017. He was calling out Canelo and Cotto in 2014. With the money involved, you can believe he thought long and hard about another one with Pacquiao.
@@redghettosun Another beat down?
Keep your wishful thinking.
Marquez dropped him down twice, the last one being a total KO-- unconacious. Now imagine the ensuing fifth fight? Marquez would retire Paquiao in cruches .
@@mikeyrose4183 Not sure what you're on about. Stick with history and facts and maybe intelligent analysis. Otherwise, you're just a useless troll that has nothing of value to add. Post a coherent public comment of your own and use spellcheck when you do.
@@mikeyrose4183 Let's stick to history and facts. Marquez said no to a fifth. Not Pacquiao. He fought 2 more times after. Lost to Bradley and won a decision against Alvarado. Marquez wanted a farewell fight but got injured training for that and retired officially in 2017. Pacquiao kept boxing and said goodbye in 2021.The End.
Emh... hello... you forgot to put the third fight analysis? Sometimes I feel I'm the only one to fully watch your videos
Came to the comments to point out the same!
Allow me to assist. Please. Pacman won. You're welcome.
@@TheSmarq17 here's another person that doesn't watch the videos
The first Pacquiao/Marquez fight is one of my favorite fights of all time. When Manny knocked Juan down 3 times in that first round- my 2nd favorite first round behind Hagler/Hearns- I thought the fight was over. Wasn’t if, but when. But Marquez stuck in there and fought his ass off, just kept coming at him, I was so impressed. Both guys were so great that night the by the end of the 12th, I couldn’t decide on a winner, which is what makes the draw kind of perfect for that match. As much as I hate draws, the first fight outcome is pretty right on.
That fight made me a Marquez fan. To come back the way he did from that first round was nothing short of incredible. What a fight.
"So...
Like 2 nations in an arms race. 💪🏃
The Filipino and the Mexican kept improving their attacks and counter-punches." 30:27
Word play like this is magnificent!
I love the rhetoric and tone of voice in these videos,
True analysis and introspect from people indulged in the sport and life of boxing🥊
Thanks for the content ✌️
One of the best rivalry in boxing! Doesn't matter who won cause I don't think we'll ever witness something like this every again.
41:02 Considering how unfathomably fast a fighter's mind can process information when dialed in, the amount of time Marquez took to absorb his win must have felt like an eternity.
i don't box but the mental and physical that goes into it is so interesting to learn about, maybe one day when i get more time
When I saw 42 minutes I was soooo happy!!! I love this type! I like the short ones too but…lol.
Wait, did we skip #3?
yep
The amount of NPCs in the comments that are not highlighting this is insane
Yeah, skipped number 3 then summarised the first fight again and i guess a blend of the second and third fights.
Very strange editing choice.
I just started watching so u can imagine how disappointing this spoiler alert is.
No. The 3rd fight waa just briefly discussed.
That last counter marquez threw was the single greatest counter I've ever seen the timing couldn't have been any more precise to land it mid weight shift before the foot lands with the full weight of a right cross is the single greatest counter I've ever laid eyes on
Have been watching boxing for 65 years, best real, honest to good boxing I've ever seen.
Yes! When I saw the Morales trilogy breakdown video I knew this one has to come next!
Great video
On the 2nd fight with Timothy Bradley, the latter attempted to emulate the right hand Marquez used to KO Pacquiao only to find out that trick doesn't work anymore. Reminder that this is the same Timothy Bradley who defeated Marquez.
you"re spoiling us David, many thanks
Wish I could have seen this live but I was a child, thanks for telling the compelling story!
That KO in the 4th fight.....jeez I thought for sure that was the end for Manny. Just brutal
That shows how amazing of a champ Pacquiao is. I mean most boxers wouldn't have come back from that.
They fought 4 times. Why skip the third?
You're the best on youtube Dave! Thank you
Another amazing video 📈
Awesome video
Nah bro ur going too crazy wit these uploads keep them up David I luv ur videos so much ❤
Wow 40 min super comp let’s goooo
As a filipino, this fight make me sad, meanwhile my mexican girlfriend is happy 😭
Be happy you have a girl that will watch fights with you man! haha
@@TheModernMartialArtistlmao true
One of the best rivalries in boxing ever. I'm Filipino, but I became a Marquez fan the moment he got up three times in round 1 and fought with a broken nose all the way to round 12. That was amazing. Not that many boxers can regain composure after getting knocked down by Pacquiao, but Marquez is just that good and iron-willed.
Wow, what a fight 😮
Great video
Oh let's fuckin go! I'm clocking out for lunch right now 😂😂😂😂
Fantastic video and editing yet again.
ilove this content somuch iloveyuuu
Pacquiao is a freak of nature, only comes once in a lifetime, we are lucky to see him in our generation. Marquez like many Mexicans is a true warrior. Both pugilist are fitting to each others style, thats why each of their 4 fights was always a blockbuster.
Quality Video this is where a youtuber shines
Ufff! Thanks!, very good! 😮
"People complained about the lack of trash talk"
Good sportsmanship confuses and enrages the American.
Great job
best fucken video of all times. much love to your editing and show case . fucken love the way you guy show the pacquiao and Marquez
First fight between the 2 warriors is a classic dog fight, no holding or throwing illegal blows, just pure grit, heart n skill. Kudos to both Pacquiao n Marquez
Should do a vid on Gabriel "Flash" Elorde. His southpaw style looks great
Please do a Junto Nakatani & Jaron Ennis style breakdown
Wait a minute, how TF do you not a score a knockdown? That judge bet on the fight 100%
l noticed the thumbnail change:p
It would bring more attention to put the 7 kos on the thumbnail tho, more precisely for those who never watched those wars
This is one of the worlds greatest rivalries
I wonder if the pause after Manny getting KOed was just the time it would take anyone to realize they had literally turned PacMan off after four incredible fights.
Thank you for the analysis. Boxing like this is so fascinating and entertaining.
I just browsed through your channel to see if u had a jack Johnson video id love to see u break down his style I know there's not much footage on him but I feel he deserves a video on the best fight breakdown channel I know of the modern martial artist
No trashtalking needed, all business. Even the headbutts accidentally and they both shrugged it off. Warriors!
I’m glad you pointed out the right hook that Pacquiao absorbed in the 5th rd and also that Pacquiao stumbled into the same right hand which imo was a key reason he didn’t absorb it as well as the one he got hit with in the 5th round 🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊
The most interesting fact about this war was that the 4 fights, 3 of which were title bouts, was they took place in 3 different weight classes. They literally followed each other to do battle. True warriors and certainly an all-time rivalry. Both deserve the ultimate respect for stepping into the ring against each other - for 4 epic battles.
Never underestimate fighters who started on an empty stomach🙂
That KO of Manny was the most shocking thing I have ever experienced in boxing.
Kid. You got talent.
This rivalry is as anime as it can get.
this guy should be a coach
These were so amazing. Real Hajime No Ippo shit
Please do a floyd mayweather vs manny pacquiao breakdown please 🥺?.
Is it just me or you forgot to put the 3rd fight?
DUDE THE FIRST FIGHT WASNT A "SPLIT DECISION"...IT WAS A DRAW..and THE THIRD JUDGE DIDN'T MAKE A MISTAKE
🥊
I still remember the silence & shock in the room when Manny hit the canvas…
Worst decision for Pacman is by keep giving him a rematch... Floyd wont for sure 😂
So. What's that like a 10-6 first round? Damn, should have kept bobbin and weavin
😮
Can we get jorge linares style breakdown
If ever there was a time to miss the Championship 15.
Could you do ray mercer vs lennox lewis and ray mercer vs holyfield. I had mercer beating lewis but losing to holyfield
Do a video on pitbull cruz next
Where’s the third?
Great Video but i think you fogot the third Fight.
This may be the greatest 4 fight series of all time. And Marquez really got a granit/iron/titanium chin. Ffs man 1/4 of one of those shot im probably dead lmao
You totally skipped the 3rd fight.
It was a incredible fight series, but I will never understand why Pacquiao got in the ring with that man a fourth time. The previous 3 fights were a war. If I win 2 out of 3 of those, sorry bruh but I'm taking my chips and calling it a career.
l guess he wanted the fourth to have a clear winner since the 3 was the closest one, l do believe pac won the first and the second tho, the second one arguably being pacquiao most clear victory
Well, Pac didn't give him the immediate rematch. He fought Bradley after the third and suffered a disputed loss. So between that "loss" and many people having Marquez winning the third, Pac's status took a hit and he was looking to get back on track with a definitive win over Marquez since their previous 3 meetings had been close. At the time, there was still the belief that Marquez could KO him with more aggression and Roach was telling Pac to channel his younger self. However, in retrospect, telling an aging fighter to fight like his younger more aggressive/reckless self against his toughest rival obviously wasn't the wisest thing.
Missing 3rd fight
I'm filipino, Marquez is my idol
Wasn't this the first time where fighters fought for the fourth time?
Sugar ray robinson and lamotta fought six times
I'd like to think it was like the chicken fights in Family Guy. Like they just couldn't not spontaneously break out into a fight every time they saw each other lol
No. As Christian already mentioned, Sugar Ray Robinson and Jack La Mota fought against each other quite often. Six times.
But why not 5? Because both of the fighter knew that the ko punch was just a lucky punch.
@@brucele2776 hopefully we get a fifth. Exhibition fight.
To this day, alot of filipinos swear Marquez won by fluke. That his counter right straight wasnt 4 fights worth of perfect craft.
Its wild
It's not unusual to back your gut despite what actually happened
But why only 4? Because both fighter knew that it was just a lucky punch. Why he can not prove it on the 5th fight? Because he knew it was lucky punch.
@@shivahuggins1276 agree
these fights make Mayweather look like a runner against Pac.
Well you can say that Manny was the pride of the Philippines. But Marquez was one of the prides of Mexico of that time.
This puts Tank Davis to shame.
He got turned into Ballerina Davis when he fought Pitbull Cruz.
He is still running from him now instead of fighting him as many times as it takes.
He broke his hand and still outboxed your boy with one hand
Create pacquiao vs thurman
marquez' boxing style was simply so anti-pacquiao... plus he has a very good chin too, being able to recover from all those knockdowns given to him by pacquiao 😅
Remake GGG vs Canelo Trilogy!
So you said Marquez was pure grit and will. Nope Marquez was much more technical than Paquial could ever dream of.
look at floyd's leftovers. how cute
Marquez is a fighter
Definitely not of the century
Should have been 2 : 1 in favour of the Mexican
Honestly, it's really obvious that boxing lacks kicks.
and guns too
That's a great point, I'd never thought of that!
@TheModernMartialArtist i don't say that to be disrespectful to the sweet science, but you can really see how a lot of the legwork purely works to support upper body mobility. Sometimes it looks like the torso is mounted on a stand.
In comparison to other sports you can really see that they don't have to worry about knees, elbows and kicks
@@truffeltroll6668 Oh I thought you said it as a joke so I was being silly back. Yeah there's a lot of movement that would be hard to get away with in another combat sport lol
Gsp submitted bisping... Not a ko
my farts are better than David's farts
Marquez needed steroids to beat pacamn
My scorecard
1. 114.111 Pacquiao
2. 114.113 Pacquiao
3. 114.114 or 115.113 Marquez I don`t no round 9
4. 56.57 Marquez
The KO is nothing its a luck, it took him 4 tries, and scared for a 5th fight but bradley beat him for pacquiao 😁
Far from luck but you've never fought in your life so I'd expect you not to understand
Woah how you just gonna drop the sugar and jake lomatto and not have a video already
To think Mayweather beat both of them easily.
Is no one going to mention how juiced up Marquez was for their fourth fight? Talk about taking all the glory out of your game.
Pimple popping steroid using Marquez? Odd he switched trainers to convicted dealer angel heredia Just for this fight
Yes kids Marquez got roided up for this fight then got off and got beat up by Bradley in.his next fight
Pac is in no position to claim high ground: prior to the third fight when Roach questioned Marquez bulking up, Marquez responded by calling team Pac's bluff and offering to do blood testing if team Pac agreed, but team Pac was adamantly opposed to blood testing. And team Pac didn't ask for blood testing in the 4th fight either despite being the A side. The ironic part is Roach himself later questioned Pac's trainer Ariza and raised suspicions about the mystery "shakes" he was giving them.
@californio1850 google Marquez with pimples. It was taken right after the last fight with Pacquiao. Everyone and their mama accuses pac of steroids just because they cany handle Asian guy effed up non Asian fighters. He never koed guys above 135 yet whine whine pac steroids
