In his early life, as you can see, he wasnt really the most blessed man. He had a broken family, had to stop school just to feed himself and his family, was very poor, wasnt really the most good looking man, very short and very skinny. Before he started boxing, he had no great physical advantage whatsoever. What he has now is really about hardwork, smart skills, courage, strength, endurance and determination all packed into a man and he really deserved it!! God bless you and your family Manny!! It wasn't the match of the century, or even the match of the year, because it was so one sided. Most people consider a good match to be one that is competitive. If you go back and look at Tommy Hearns vs Sugar Ray, Ali vs Frazier in 1971, or Tommy Hearns (again) vs Marvin Hagler, you will see fights that are considered some of the best boxing matches in the history of the sport. This was an amazing display of Manny's skills and an incredible personal achievement, but Margarito did not do anything to make this match look like anything more than a high level sparring match. Money May is more of a businessman, marketing himself very well to earn the most possible there is. Makes sure he has the advantage before going to the fight making his winning more likely.
Pacquiao on the other hand is a fighter from start to end of his career. He fights best when he is the under dog. He pushes himself beyond limits to achieve what no one has ever done.
    You have to respect both.

People favored Pac just because he was fun to watch, but everyone and their momma watching were well aware of Pac's objective disadvantages during the fight. The 6th round almost KO really highlights the peak of both aspects. In that round, Pac had to remain standing after eating a liver blow and a kidney blow (which were so strong he pissed blood for 2 days straight) from a dude who was 6 inches taller, had 5 more inches of reach, and 17 whole pounds heavier, and not only successfully defend himself, he even went on the offensive with just one arm. Absolutely the best I've ever seen. You knew you were watching something special at the time. There will never be another him... And I've never heard Emmanuel Steward (one of the greatest trainers and analysts ever) call ANYONE else "an all-time great that belongs up there with the Ali's and Ray Robinson's" like he did with Manny after the Cotto fight. Go rewatch that fight right at the end and the ending commentary...

After the fight, Pac said in an interview that his ribs were broken by that shot. That's the reason why he doesn't want to go to a higher weight class and welter is his limit. Also, he's already undersized for welter; the Thurman fight showed that. His ideal weight class is jr. welter but we all know welter is where the "Money" is. *wink wink*

A most excellent breakdown. Margarito, to his credit, was probably in the best shape he had ever been and hurt Pacquiao so many times that he immediately rejected any offer to defend that 154 title. To Pacquiao's credit, he knew he reached his physiological limit. Fighting at Middleweight would've shortened his career tangling with boxers who might come in at Cruiserweight on fight night. Although, a Canelo matchup would've been epic.

Good narrative. What was not shown here was a 4th round sweeping uppercut by Manny, that everyone thought was a miss. But if you look carefully at the full fight footage, you'll see that it was with that swing that Manny tore open the cut below Antonio Margarito (AM)'s right eye. This was the cut that was the beginning of the end for AM (as he later admitted during post fight ring interview. Nearly blind by the 10th, and smashed by a late 10th round right hook, AM was basically a punching bag. Starting at the end of the 10th and through the 11th and 12th, Manny kept trying to get the ref's attention to stop the fight. Finally by the 12th Manny himself mercifully turned down the attack and carried AM throughout the 12th.

By age 15, he was considered the best junior boxer in the southern Philippines and he moved to Manila. In January 1995, at the age of 16, he made his professional boxing debut as a junior flyweight.

While those more technical aspects are inarguably very, very satisfyingly well executed, I also get absolute chills from the music choice. This channel's BGM game is nuts, that intro with the unprecedented tear 0:11, and the round 6 double shot 10:46 - 11:41 scenes are really elevated by the music, its so addicting to replay, and when I listened to the BGMs he credited, the pieces by themself although great, just didn't have the same epicness at all compared to when it was used in this video with his narration and everything.
