The crazy part is that the guy who is listed as the party who commissioned a “gay website” actually had never met the person who went to the Supreme Court. They aren’t even gay, and is actually a web designer himself. It was purely a case designed and Astro turned to get it to the Supreme Court to rule against having to use creative expression for gay people. Wild
That’s why it’s called a test case. Like Brown v BOE, Roe v Wade, etc. Activists gon activism.
@@paulofreire9174 well in cases like Roe, there were actual events that caused damage to a real person. In this case, the entire background was fabricated and none of the claims in the case happened. Also the lady in the case wasn’t even doing web design when she first brought the lawsuit to court.

Like people claim that it not being based on a real situation invalidates the ruling, my guess being because they know that the actual content of the ruling is fair so that's the only point of contention left with it lol.

Not that anyone cares but the website thing, that woman didnt even own a website. She didnt own a business. It was a fake concept put through the ultra conservative supreme court to get the discrimination law passed. Which is against the law because noone was 'hurt' or harmed by the complaint, so it shouldn't have even been seen by them. Only after the fact did the lady, who was never asked to make a gay website at all (the guy they used as the 'gay' source was a straight man with a family who had no idea what was going on when contacted). The lady didnt even own a business or anything until after the case went through the court.
The Supreme Court needs to be unconsensually fucked.

@@paulcarmi8130 a more apples-to-apples comparison would just be asking a bakery to make you a MAGA cake, which would cause a large chunk of them to switch their stance.
You can already make a case for why you should be able to refuse service to people you don't want to serve, but this isn't even a question of that.
This is someone coming in and asking for what is basically a custom product, which you should be allowed to refuse to make on any basis you want.
