I am active duty soilder in Korea army. I bought the negative display version and I love it. I would say this is the perfect watch for soilders. I never had any problem with reading the screen at all. It is not only comfortable but look goods with small wrist. And, the fact that it has vibrating alarm is just incredible. It is so useful. Also, it is not that expansive for what you are getting.
I know what you mean. I got one for my son when he joined the Army. I just got a black one with positive display on clearance today at Wal-mart for $54. Love this watch.
I wear the negative black display version of this model daily on duty. I always have the setting to vibrate. Very handy to be alerted of the hour change without having to look at your watch. Also the grey version is in my collection and would recommend them both. Casio need to add more vibration module to future tactical/military style watches.
I put my blacked out GD350 on a JaysandKays black pvd 24mm bracelet (with their metal adapters) + bullbars and it makes the watch look even more badass.
I considered purchasing this one. Something about its simple yet tactical design almost epitomises the pinnacle of a military G Shock at the lower end price range.
I went from a GD 100 0range to this GD350. I agree with this review 100%. This is one of the best G-Shock watches ever. I have this color and the only reason I no longer wear it because I need a new band. Can’t tell you how many times the 10 min countdown timer, which has the circle button, was used while cooking or training. The Illuminator is Beyond bright and I love the 5 second light time. In a dark room, the light will show you the way. Battery is still going! It’s interesting that you’re comparing this to the analog watch, the GD 2100, which is the watch I wanted next (white marker version). I want a positive black digital watch that isn’t 5600. Thanks for this review.
I have GD-350 and two things that I love about them on top of the vibration: 1) It is powered by a standard CR2032 battery, so replacement is easy to the point that I laugh when people start buying solar powered gshocks just to avoid battery swaps 2) It looks like a watch for a Rambo if you replace the plastic band with a ballistic nylon (a.k.a. NATO strap), I replaced mine with this to get my skin some air as the original thick plastic strap was not comfortable in summer.
Not laughable at all. You open your regular watch more frequently than their solar counterparts. The more you open it the more you risk compromising the mechanism inside. But the alarms and light of regular watches are stronger than tough solars so there's that.
@@burnikshrapnel Well...I don't know for this watch, but for the DW 5600 series a CR2016 battery can last up to 10 years, and at least 5 if you frequently use the alarm function and the backlight (the 2 years life span stated by Casio is total bs, ridiculously conservative....) On the other hand, the average life span of a rechargeable CTL1616 is 10 years, maybe 15 if you're lucky... in my country it costs 13 US dollars. For the same amount of money I can buy 100 sony CR2016 batteries, or 25 panasonic/Maxell...so solar doesn't make sense for watches with only basic functions (no altimeter, no compass...) which won't drain that much energy. BTW, the mechanism of those quartz watches aren't that fragile! And changing a battery isn't brain surgery!
@@LeChristEstRoi nope. personal and anecdotal evidence prove solar watches could reach 20+ years on watches especially those without special features. it's not brain surgery but you'll be surprised how many watch wearers don't even know how to change straps.
@@burnikshrapnel Dude, a watch needs to be opened every 5 years or so to clean the dirt that has gotten under the case-back, to check the rubber gasket, to grease it with silicone grease, or to change it for a new one. I know that must people don't bother, and won't open their watch until the battery dies and needs to be changed...myself I'm also lazy about it... The other day I opened my 3 years old solar powered pro-trek, and I was suprised by the amount of dirt that managed to get under the case-back! Fortunately the gasket did its job and the dirt didn't get through it, so the mechanism was clean, but some moisture did, and that's the reason I opened my watch! To dry it!
I have the negative version, as only the negative one is available in India. It has one of the best negative display and is super legible. You forgot to mention it has 5 years' battery.
The GD350 I purchased 4 years ago (new from Walmart) needed a battery replacement on its third year of ownership. I did use the vibration alarm virtually every day of those 3 years. I “traded up” to a GBX-100 which also has vibration alarm but it is more complicated than the GD350 and the vibration alarm doesn’t feel as powerful. I am looking at purchasing a negative display GD350...
I bought mine in 2014 and trained/worked with it on for years. Just recently need to replace the battery but other than being banged up quite a bit shes gtg. Highly recommend it.
The fact that it has a one touch count down timer function is the reason it's my EDC. And probably always will be. Would 100% buy if I ever lost it. Also found it for 18 bucks new at Wal Mart so ain't so bad
seriously, i started wearing my gd350 after losing my small square g-shock (gw-m5610), and i'm realizing that the difference in display quality puts this miles ahead.
The numbers are much bigger and the screen is very clear. The newest squares have the numbers closer to the protective screen and a high quality display and so they are more legible as well.
Glad to see someone else was grabbed by the “octagonal DNA”. What grabbed me when I saw one recently was that it looked like the DW5600 & CasiOak had a baby.
I am buying one exactly like this video. I love the vibration mode and the dual display colors( green) remind me the activities on the Ocean 🌊. Like a watch that the military Navy use.
Even for a small wrist looks so good, I own a GD 350 1cr the most beautiful imo it's one display color but when push light button it gets red date!. Also has painted carved bezel letters, is the only one with this style.
The display GD 350 is the best among Casios with normal LCD. Even the negative display ones are good as any Casio with MIP Display. I am looking forward to get one with positive.
2024 and I'm thinking of buying it. It's the coolest digital Gshock imo. I'm more into analog G Shocks as they are more wearable but the vibe alarm and the timeless futuristic military design are something else. I was doubting cause my wrist is small but I saw the comparisons with the ga2100 which I also have and it doesn't look big, tall though. So yes, it could be my Xmas present this year 😁 thanks for the review!
I have one of this too. Really unique, rugged and I especially love the backlight. I only wish they make a solar version for this one. Greetings from Kuala Lumpur! 👍
This must be one of the most beaten GD-350 out there 😂. Very nice vid bro. Casio needs to release both military sand and army green Colors of this model! It would be a day 1 purchase for me. Add solar to it too and it would be amazing!
I have the negative display model which kinda gives it a stealth look..! I have around 10-15 watches of different make, but this watch has become my daily wear ever since 2014 when I first got it. Be it a bike ride or a trek or a gathering or office or at home, I love wearing it most of the time. I agree with what's spoken in the video, the watch does look timeless and best owing to it's unique design... Amazing watch I must say 👍
THE GD_350 GB was the first G Shock I bought my kid brother. The one with the negative display. Best letters in a negatively display ever. The alarm was real loud too. I plan to get that second watch in your hand but I can't due to lock down. Hopefully when all this is over... Great video man.
If they dropped the 'ticking bars' in the top left and even the circle eye-shaped dispay and put a solar panel instead, it would be a lot better. A solar atomic version of this Gshock would be good, but a solar Gshock with vibration I'm sure would sell well. I know I'd want one.
Yes it very nice g shock I bought the same model in 2013 and the watch still works although I didn't change the battery yet Also my one is negative display but the best negative display I have seen comparing with other g shock
My GD 350 strap has been broken... please tell me the alternate strap of this watch at aliexpress I did not found any exact model strap. kindly guide me.
It'll be hard to fund, maybe it'll be better if you use a typical silicone strap and cut them so it'll fit in the lug. Alternatively, buy a GA-100 type band and cut the connections till it fits.
Hi! I have one of this model and mine was the blacked out version. I really love this model because it has the capital city of my country, which is Kuala Lumpur in it's world time section. I think this is the only gshock model that has Kuala Lumpur city name display. please correct me if i'm wrong. tq.
1:07 I have a GA 2100 and they look similar size. My wrist is not big, not very small but I won't wear a Ga 700 as they are very big. Do you think this GD 350 would look well on my wrist as the GA 2100 does? Thanks!
I bought this watch all black with negative display at the start of January and I have to say its the dogs bo$#ox! I own other G's and a Suunto Core but this is my favourite hands down 👍
Get yourself some "WatchClean". This product is amazing and keeps all my G's looking brand new! I kid you not this stuff is the best. You spray it on, work it in and rinse it off.. job done! You can buy it online. Just type in "watchclean"... Have fun

I like the timer start from almost any screen, and that you have a home time display in almost every screen.
Its still the best G-Shock out there.. its not that huge, but its packed with functionality and comfort.. (GD-350) a must have.
