The Kiss guy just seems like a big fan who's really into collecting. His collection is probably very valuable also, so it's no more ridiculous than people who like Lego, Star Wars, Pokemon etc.

I’m a big wrestling fan. I got figures, pops, autographs, etc. I’m also a Slipknot fan who has the masks and suits. So for the Kiss guy, I call that a perfect fan. You enjoy the band and have merchandise you collected over the years. So he’s not weird just the biggest fan ever.

Bro I had a good friend of mine tell me you better be careful who gives you your tattoo that's all I'm saying
its honestly insanely cheap to buy a tattoo kit as a non-professional. They aren't that great but you can seriously get one for as low as 40 USD. I highly don't advise it (the ink is usually cheap, so are the guns themselves. you can get the job done but i'd worry about how the tattoo would last long-term). SO yeah it would not be unlikely to be drunk and to find a friend or someone at a party to thought it was a great idea to bring their tattoo gun along, and they agree to do shit for you.
There are a lot of areas in the world that don't have laws around tattooing a drunk client, but with how big and dark the tattoo is i have a little bit of a hard time believing a professional did it (its possible, but i know it would be hard to find an artist in a studio to agree). Professional artists in general are usually more careful with face tattoos and high-viability areas. They won't tell you no, but they'll take more time to know you want it.
Could just be my local area but now that tattoos are more okay to have most studios require appointments for tattoos that would take longer than a half hour due to demand, so even if you were drunk and the artist wanted to tattoo you, you'd have to plan ahead. even though i kinda doubt every tattoo shop in the world works this way- it does help prevent unwanted tattoos.

I don’t think the Kiss one is too extreme. I don’t really get the whole collector thing but I know there are lots of people who make it their hobbies to collect certain things and some of them end up with pretty massive collections.

As a collector of a relatively unknown Japanese band, it just kind of happens. You start with the basics and it grows from there. Next thing you know you're paying 10 to 50 times original retail for hard to find items and building a network of bounty hunters and other collectors who you trade with. I've got over 60 shirts and 250 individual items from simple can buttons to limited edition signature guitars. If you can afford it, I see no harm. I'll say though, keep a spreadsheet of your collection. It will make tracking and trading MUCH easier.

In the spring of 1996 I got a metallica tattoo, when they released load a few months later I wanted to cut it off and eventually got it covered up. I also followed slayer around for like two weeks going from show to show and failed the semester lol.

As a deadhead, it's typical for that family and there many of those with us at the Dead shows. There's nothing like a dead show with the music, partying, communal living and life being on the road with your fellow deadheads in peace, love and unity. And people who run the venues who hosts the Dead always love us since we don't cause trouble nor fights (sometimes they happen but compared to the other fan bases, we're tame)

It wasn't that expensive. Usually you'd find out who was heading to the next show and asking to hitch a ride with them. There was always some sort of hustle where we could make money in a pinch even for a young deadhead
I'm 53 now, but back when I turned 15 years old in 1985, I first saw Slayer with Venom and Exodus and then a year later saw them w/D.R.I., Overkill and Bl'ast at the Olympic. It was the best time because they were so underground. Not a lot of people knew about them. When I first bought Show No Mercy in 1984, I had never heard anything like that. Sure I was already listening to Motorhead, Saxon, Iron Maiden. But the bands Slayer, Venom, Possessed, Mercyful Fate, were so dark. I remember a Slayer flyer: "L.A.'s only Black Metal band". (And yes young people, Slayer, Venom, Destruction, Mercyful Fate, were called Black Metal in the mid 80s). There was a reason Mercyful Fate were playing gigs with Slayer, Possessed. It was the satanic-embracing lyrics and imagery. When I saw Slayer again in 1990 (or 1991) for their Seasons In The Abyss tour, they had reached that "arena rock" status. It just wasn't the same anymore. I liked their albums up to South Of Heaven the best. The others after were okay, but not as good.

I’m not gonna lie, that Christian guy who’s a big Iron Maiden fan is pretty cool in my book. Even if hving over a 100 tattoos of Iron Maiden is going a tad bit overboard in my opinion, as an Iron Maiden fan, I still think it’s cool that he’s both an Iron Maiden fan and a Christian and doesn’t consider Iron Maiden “Satanic” like some other “Christians” do. Which is odd because a core theme in Iron Maiden’s entire lore is actually about combatting the Devil with one’s own free will and the power of free will and Eddie is an embodiment of the concept of free will. Which is why Eddie is often seen battling the Devil in Iron Maiden’s lore and is shown to hv more power than the Devil and that’s why he’s seen manipulating the Devil in the Number of the Beast album cover because of the fact that even the Devil has free will and therefore Eddie holds power over him due to him being the embodiment of free will and the reason why Eddie combats the Devil is cause the Devil is the embodiment of the worst mistakes made in the history of free will. Sure Eddie the Head doesn’t exist, and most certainly not in Christianity however I still think it’s pretty cool that Iron Maiden pulls concepts and themes from Christianity and puts them into their music and band lore, despite Iron Maiden being FAAAAR from a Christian band.🤷

Father Iron Maiden is cool, he loves Maiden and loves tattoos, and Derek Riggs did awesome artwork for the band that translates well into ink.
The special edition tour shirts were awesome as well. For the Somewhere in Time Tour they made a Florida specific shirt that had Eddy as Sonny Crockett; white suit, standing next to the black Lambo from the show and with Elvis the alligator on a leash. It had the Florida dates and "Vice is Nice!" on the back.
Of all the concert shirts I've had and lost I miss that one the most. Miami Vice was still on tv at the time, so that was the ultimate crossover.

I've noticed a lot of the craziest, meanest, most intolerant people online are fans of various bands and singers. They defend their favourites to the point of insane, nonsensical aggression. I find it cringe worthy and hard to understand. It got me wondering what the psychology behind that is. It seems that being a fan of something or someone gives them something in life they're missing. They feel like they know the celebrity in person and must defend them at all costs. It's pretty sad but also unpleasant to be around.
