The hazbin hotel series is amazing, its set in hell and alsstor is there as the radio demon (he was a radio presenter in new Orleans and was a serial killer as well)
It's a shame that you don't know about Alastor and Hazbin Hotel. This whole thing hits completely different when you know this character. I can't get over how much genius this video actually is. Black Gryph0n is the original singing voice for Alastor in the pilot episode. I'm not surprised so many people asked you to do this one. Let me give you some context. I know few people here have touched the surface now let me take it a little deeper. Hazbin Hotel is a story that takes place in Hell and focuses on a hotel that is run by Lucifer's daughter who has created a rehab center for sinners. She's trying to get the people who ended up in Hell to reform so Heaven will take them back. The goal isn't going very well as most of Hell isn't interested in changing and Heaven isn't that interested in taking them back. Alastor shows up on the hotel's doorstep just after Charlie, Lucifer's daughter calls her mom Lilith and can't reach her. Alastor says he wants to help with the hotel so that he can get a front row seat to the repeated failures for his own entertainment. What's he really after? We don't know yet but his overall personality is a wicked machiavellian agent of chaos who's very incredibly charming. The show has not yet adressed his full back story but in Hell he is a very powerful overlord who came out of nowhere and started overthrowing ancient evil that had been in power for aeons. He showed up, heavy hitting overlords started dissapearing and as he was a radio broadcaster in life, in death he chose to broadcast the screams of his victims over his radio station in Hell. He is a deal maker and bargains with other sinners for their souls. When he speaks his voice always sounds like it is being broadcast over a 1930s era antique radio. He earned himself the nickname "The Radio Demon." When he gets mad or his power amps up you see the radio dials in his eyes. The shadow that you see fall over his victim just before he hits him with the axe is his shadow but it seems to operate indepenently of alastor himself reflecting his true mood in the show. In spite of how bad he is .there's another side of him that we see every now and again and as his friend Mimzy , who he knew in life and death after "Pour him a finger of rye and put on some jazz and he becomes a kitten." This part of him makes him an insanely likeable character in spite of how bad he can be. While it hasn't been covered in the series the creator Vivsie has said that he is a killer similar to Dexter and he mostly hunted people who were cruel and dark hearted. He went to Hell for the murders. His demise at the end where he got shot by the hunters while burying his last kill is also a part of his origin story the creator has talked about but we have yet to see in the show. It is because he died being mistaken for a deer that his demon form takes on the form of a deer. The lyrics "my dear, my dear" are no doubt chosen in relation to his form even though they used "dear" instead of "deer" there are deer puns in the series and the word choice is not an accident. That's also why his footprints are in the form of a deer. Alastor smiles......all the time. His character was partly inspired by "Never fully dressed without a smile" He's also been quoted as saying "A smile is a very valuable tool, it inspires your friends and keeps your enemies guessing. It ensures that no matter what happens you are the one in control." It's not cannon that Alastor keeps the teeth of his victims but in this video what he's really doing is collecting smiles. That's why in the begining when he's singing to the guy reading the paper with all of his other victims on it he says "smile for me" and the second he does you see Alastor's demon form flash. That was the exact moment he became the target. I can tell you really enjoyed the video. I feel like you'd enjoy the show.
