Back in the 1970s and early 1980s you could race the old Sportsman Division (Currently the modern Xfinity Series) race at Daytona the Sportsman 300 without any prior experience in any other racing series anywhere in the world, just by buying a car and get a NASCAR License without no trouble at all. This changed after serval massive wracks had happened at the Sportsman 300 in the late 1970s and 1980s which lead to serious injuries and even death. Kyle Petty was even able to start five cup starts in 1979 after winning his very first major stock car race at Daytona in 1979 the Daytona ARCA 200. Kyle Petty’s first Cup race was at the 1979 Talladega 500 where he finished 9th.

I don't believe there's an issue with Ford, whether the nose or engines. At California where any engine or nose issues would show up, we didn't see a big disparity between makes. I believe The HMS cars just have something figured out that everyone else has not or they just had the setup better sorted at Vegas. Aside from the 24 and 5, Bell, Truex and Hamlins Toyota's and the Bowman's HMS 48 were the 3rd to 7th place cars. We see Logano run up front most weeks regardless of track while his teammates are typically also rans right along with all the SHR cars aside from Harvick. It seems to be more about what the teams have figured out for setups since the cars are so similar.
I expect we'll see this week to week where a JGR Toyota or 2 will be more dominant then next week a RCR Chevy, and maybe a Kaulig or TrackHouse Chevy will be running a similar setup.
Definitely looking forward to Phoenix, Richmond, and Martinsville where the racing is just better in my opinion, without so much of the aero issues. The 1.5 mile tracks have improved with the gen7, but they're still not great. Some great tracks coming up, would be perfect if we'd just run Bristol without the dirt. Bristol dirt is still far better than a 1.5 mile, just not as good as leaving the concrete alone.
