Hi - Thanks for the question. No, I have not had any malfunction since I installed them. As I explained in the video, the foglight only turn on when the headlights are turned on too. When you remote start your truck with your remote control in the evenings/nights, the running and fog lights will turn on, but this is normal. As soon as you get into your truck and hit the start button the headlights will also turn on as well.
Hi - thanks for your question. No, mine stay on whenever the headlights are on. If you want to turn them off using the switch, you'll need to take your truck to the dealer so they can code the ECU.
Good vid. Do you feel the new fog lights offer a bit more light spill off to the sides of the road when you are turning? One thing I dont like about my Trail Boss w/no fog lights is when you take a corner, the regular headlights dont offer much light into the direction you are steering. Wondering if the fog lights help that issue.
Wait a min…soo you mean to tell that I don’t need the switch?? I can just use the headlight? As if the headlight go on the fog do too?…or am I missing something?
That's exactly 💯% correct. You use your existing oem headlight switch. You're simply tapping into the headlight wiring using the plug n play harness. Whenever your headlights turn on, your foglights will turn on too. Thanks for the question.
Frank I'm a little confused on the 250500 you say you installed. The fog lights will not be on during the day unless you manually turn on your headlight switch. So do they stay on when the regular lights are on by auto such as night?
Thanks for the question. Yes, the foglights will automatically turn on anytime the headlights turn on. So they'll come on when the headlights turn on at night or if you manually turn them on with the switch.
Did you have to use the wiring harness mine already had foglights so i used the exsisting wires to plug in directly to the new foglights. My problem is the drl cant figure out how to wire them in to which fuse relay, says to use accesorry but dont see one on the schematics.
You said you already had foglights? If so, why did you replace them? Anyway, if simply plugged in the new foglights, they should work with the switch inside your truck. On/Off etc.
Thanks for the question. Yes, they do sell harnesses that allow the fog lights to be turned off, but you do need to go the dealership to get them programmed.
I am confused, if the harness basically turns on these fog lights on whenever the headlights are on, how come when you remote started the truck at 12:50, the fog lights kicked on with only the daytime running lights were on?

I like your method as opposed to the other video. Your way is so much faster!!! From your video, you recommend ordering from GM as opposed to Amazon or eBay???
First off, thank you for your comment! The use of the plug and play harness kit makes this install so easy because you don't need to cut, solder, or splice any wires. To answer your question, Yes. I used OEM foglights only because the harness kit instructions stated that it only works with original OEM lights. I did not check amazon or eBay, but if they sell them, then you should be okay. I included links in the video description for both, the harness and the foglights. Thanks again - Frank

Hey Frank, nice truck!!!, I'm on the look for one and thank you for the information in this video. Q: Did you ended up using the existing switch? Basically on/off from the same headlights knob? Thank you.👍
Hey Luis thanks for the comment! Regarding the switch/knob, I did not mess with that. Everything remained the same in the interior. The harness kit I used allows you to "t-off" the headlight connector for an easy plug and play. The fog lights turn on whenever the headlights are on. Alternatively, there are some harnesses kits that allow you to turn them on/off but you must also purchase a switch/knob. You then need to have the dealer program the foglight feature. 😆 Thanks for the comment,l; I got a good chuckle out of it. I'm not sure why anyone would be triggered by someone wearing gloves, but okay. As for the OEM switch, whether it was included or not was irrelevant to me. The fog lights were hard wired. So no need for it, plus I already have a switch. By the way, YES, the dealer will charge you an arm and leg to program a new switch. I know bc I called to ask them. Do you live in San Diego North county ?
Asking because the license plate frame is the city where I live at.
Yeah for sure! I actually live in LA but I got my truck in Escondido. I do go to San Diego often. Let me know once you have the lights and harness
@@FranksCaliWoodSpecialty right on frank! I sure will 👍🏼 Thanks
Nice job damn do you still have those left over pieces from the GM kit? lol you know it would have made sense for GM to already have the wires already in the loom for the fog lamps the they could just charge you for programming and switch and the lamps, but nope got to be gready bad GM bad "smacks hand" thanks for showing the other options.
I agree with you.
Yeah, I still have them in my garage somewhere lol
@@FranksCaliWoodSpecialty cool want.to sell the extra parts?

Nice job bro..
Thank you for the comment
I like your method as opposed to the other video. Your way is so much faster!!! From your video, you recommend ordering from GM as opposed to Amazon or eBay???
First off, thank you for your comment! The use of the plug and play harness kit makes this install so easy because you don't need to cut, solder, or splice any wires. To answer your question, Yes. I used OEM foglights only because the harness kit instructions stated that it only works with original OEM lights. I did not check amazon or eBay, but if they sell them, then you should be okay. I included links in the video description for both, the harness and the foglights. Thanks again - Frank
Thanks for this much needed video.
You're welcome and thanks for your comment!
Has anyone had any issues with the harness working and then after 6 months, their fog lights don’t turn on any more? I am running into that issue.
@@justinstorey4084 No issues with mine
@@FranksCaliWoodSpecialty Okay that is very strange, I did order new Fog lights and will install them tonight. Maybe it could be the brand of the fogs that I had on previously because I don't want another 6 months to go by and having to order new fogs. I did confirm that the issue isn't the harness after doing some tests with a voltage meter.
@justinstorey4084 Yeah, if you're using the same harness as me, I believe you need to use OEM foglights. I'm using OEM foglights, and there's been no issues.
@@FranksCaliWoodSpecialty ah okay, well I just got done installing a new pair and if they fail, then I’ll have to buy the OEM’s
@@justinstorey4084 Cool!
great vid dude thank you
Thank you!
Thanks for the video Bro.

Thanks for your comment!
Dang looks good iv been looking at these videos because im going to do it to my truck and found yours i have the same color truck also...looks good brotha
Right on!
Thanks bro!
Good luck on your install. It's pretty easy to do.
Hey brotha how much did you pay for the fog lights at the dealer and also did you just order the fogs lights and the knob and harness come in the box
@@carreonsgv The harness was purchased separately. When I ordered the foglights, they also came with the switch and a different harness. I did not use the switch or harness that came with foglights. I used the harness that I ordered from Gen5DIY.
Both links in are in the description.
YEA!!!🥳❗
😅 Thank you Don Earl!
Dammm looks sick bro
Thanks !!!
Super great job 👏
Thank you! Your comment is much appreciated.
Good video carnal💯👍🏽
Thanks for the comment Carnal!
Please make one video how to wire light shelves 😃
This sounded like too much of a hassle for me, that is why I used the harness kit that you see in the video.
Hope this helps!
@@FranksCaliWoodSpecialty Thank you so much, I'm doing this install for a friend and definitely will go the easy road!! the same way you did. I don't even like to think that I would have to go to the dealership :)...
Hey, thanks a lot, by the way, I love carpentry, did it myself in the Orange County area for 17 years!!! I wish you all the success man.👍
@@LuisArriaza Right on! I left links to the harness kit I used and the oem foglights. No promo code or anything (not sponsored), but these are good products!
Once again, thanks for your kind words! Good luck on your install.

Didn’t show the control switch
Thanks for the comment. There was no need to. As I mentioned in the video, the foglights stay on anytime the headlights are on. I didn't touch or wire anything to the control switch in the cab.
@@FranksCaliWoodSpecialty l just read your other reviews on this ….thanks
I see it’s one asshole that didn’t like the video🤦🏿♂️. Great video bro
If I drive down there will you do the install for me lol

Have to deal with the pcm get the code from the Dealer that one it’s much better I need that for my Trail Boss
Exactly! With this method you don't need to go to the dealer or mess with codes, and not to mention paying more $ for that.
@@FranksCaliWoodSpecialty do you have the link? I need to buy those for my Truck I appreciate it
@@yolexissilvera7337 Hi, yes. There are two links in the video description. One for the foglights and another link for the harness.

Hey Frank, I have a set of brand new take offs from my 2022 trail boss if you know anyone interested $125 shipped and I can provide photos. Then they would just need the harness
👍
Factory me please!!!!
You lost most of your credibility by wearing gloves and lost the rest of it by not knowing that the OE switch came in that kit. Typical of someone accusing the big bad dealer of trying to make money by selling you the switch and programming and then you find said switch in the box. SMH.
This is directly from the website where I bought the fog lights from:
"Please note that dealership programming of the vehicle is required after installation so the Body Control Module (BCM) recognizes the switch and light for illumination."
