Took my 2019 Silverado to the dealer, had them install the factory foglights,harness and new switch, it was $450 out the door for parts and labor. Saved me a lot of aggravation.
this installation is if you want it done as if it came from the factory. Those fuse box connections make me nervous though. Thinking about doing this to my 2019. I would definitely watch this video a bunch of times before I even ordered the parts.
Thanks for your video. I just installed GM OEM Fog lights kit with the harness and the replacement switch that includes the fog light switch on my 2020 Silverado. C10, C3 & B3 were already pinned. Not need to run the jumper from C3 to C10 inside the cabin. I unpinned the B3 and pinned the one coming from the lights harness. Called a couple of dealers to compare price to program it. First quoted me $175.00 Second dealer $115.00 + taxes. Hope this info helps. Thanks again and very happy with my GM fog lights look.
Finished mine yesterday, had it programmed today, everything working as it should. Pin locations on the green connector was a little annoying as I couldn't find any indicators confirming which row was B and C, was worried I had the connections backwards, but it all worked out. OK First things first. I defiantly used the video for the the installation of my fog lights.I had a few issues with the video. Finding the slot for the BCM hook up was not there, I suggest going to Chevy site and looking up the electrical schematic . I had no place to fish the wire through the firewall where the video showed I ended up drilling a small hole to get to the engine. Hooking up the wires to the fuse box was frustrating, I used the schematic from the instruction sheet and ended up fishing the 2 wires in the existing harness"Not easy" the video makes it seem like there is a spot for it but there is none. The guys hands hide this in the video So I'm not sure how he got it in. Pulling out the plug from the headlight was ridiculous. I ended up taking off the whole headlight ( There is a video on this SMH). . The harness has a tab and pretty much impossible to get off without complete access. So I used this video a downloaded schematic from Chevy another video for the headlight connection. All in all it was a frustrating experience, I am very mechanically capable and have some trade experience behind me so i'm not someone who doesn't know his way around a garage or tools. I've worked on cars most of my life not professionally. I probably wouldn't have been able to do this without all the above mentioned help. But considering the time, frustration bloody knuckles. And I still got to go to Chevy to program it ( fingers crossed). Do yourself a favor and go to Chevy to get it done.
Quick question. I have a 2021 Silverado 1500 WT and currently wanting to get this done in mine but every dealership I've called to have told me that mine is not compatible. Is it possible to do this installation myselft and take it for programming afterwards?
I ordered my lights through the dealer and then the service department said they couldn’t install them because it wasn’t compatible. I went to do a return and the parts guy contacted gm directly. And they are compatible. They just haven’t updated the part number to the vin numbers but they did the install and programmed it and it works just fine. Make them do their job instead of relying on the computer
i assumed that the authorization code came as the code to give to the dealer and it wouldnt cost me anything, well i was wrong, im contacting GM now and they charged me $200.

Good video Ricardo, I have a 2021 LT Silverado and it doesn't come with fog light, the truck brings the task lighting headlamp switch, but the headlamp switch does not shows the fog light button Im not sure if I have to by a new headlight switch that brings the fog light button, in order for me to have a clean look and not a on/off sitch separately. thanks

I got the fog lights installed.. I took it to the dealership to get it programmed as well.. but the lights won’t turn on.. there is no power coming on.. has someone had the same problem? Were you able to fix it?
So I did the installation and will be taking it somewhere to get it programmed. The only “issue” I ran to was wires already inplace on C3 and B3. Brown BCM #10 already had a brown/white wire as well. I skipped C3 and unpinned the existing B3. Put everything together and now when I press the fog light button, my running/parking lights turn on and off with it. I noticed this happens when Auto light control is off. Any ideas why? I’m hoping when it gets programmed right it’ll stop. I was just pressing the fog light button and caught a glimpse of my taillights and parking lights turning on and off. So now I’m wondering if it would’ve done that before messing with the fuse block? I’m just wondering if it happened to anyone as well.
My dealership didn’t charge me anything for trying to program it. They couldn’t program it and said it could’ve been the wiring install. I found a forum that also talked about the dealership not being able to program theirs. The common factor was the existing wiring in BCM 10. Those who didn’t have it, had no issue getting it programmed. Those who have it seemed to run into this issue. It didn’t bother me, I just ended up running a wire through the firewall into my upfitter switch. So, now I can just toggle it on and off with/without the lights on. If you have an existing wire, you might want to remove it and just install the one in the kit if you want a factory setup. This is just my opinion from doing some research into them failing to program it.
After I replaced everything in the fuse box, the fog light button still toggles the parking lights. So, it’s not really a “side effect” of installing the fog light.
So if the spot is filled (#10), no need to run the jumper wire to the engine bay. Also, if the spot is filled in B3, you will need to either splice or try to remove the pin and run the one for the fog lights.

any chance of making something for the 2021 Tahoe? I know fogs are not an option but the fronts are similar to the Silverado's, I know the adaptive cruise module is back there under the passenger side but have already seen some brush guard companies using a bracket to relocate that module. Some of the Silverado parts fit the Tahoe's engine bay like CAI's , was hoping something could be made to have fogs work on a tahoe.

I'm installing this now and I'm unable to get the fuse box off of the base. I have the 4 screws loosened and the plastic snaps undone. It comes up but won't release from the 4 colored blocks underneath. What am I missing?
I do apologize for the late reply. Double check to ensure the studs have been removed completely, some of our installs have been a bit difficult and we have just double checked everything. Hopefully everything has worked out for you.
My bcm harness x5 brown cavity 10 is used which should mean to skip hooking up under my fuse box. My cavity c3 is empty tho in the uec tho so what do I do? want to have ot wired to go get it flashed
Various dealers can change different amounts, it all depends on their labor rate. We are fortunate enough to know a service tech that was able to help us.
Can this kit be programmed to turn the fog lamps on automatically so that they run with the running lamps? Or are they only able to run when you use the new control button?
Did you find that to be true? You would think if you a an auto headlamp selection to where when you turn on the high beams the fog lamps go off and back on with low beams. There is a $20 splicing part that’s easily installed to bypass that so the fog lights stay on with the high beams. I’m just wondering what is normal labor charge for the dealership to install??
There’s a kit out there where you just hook up your fog lights from your low beams/running lights so they automatically turn on when your low beams are on, with that kit im pretty sure you don’t even have to reprogram anything.

I can't see the grommet to pass the wire from install the truck out to engine compartment. Do I need to remove the glove compartment to gain access to the grommet? I have a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. I have completed all of the installation of the fog lights and all outside wiring. All I'm missing is to route the single wire from inside to the outside to complete all wiring. I just don't see the grommet. Help Please.
No, the grommet is just behind the glove box, its is not necessary to remove it. It is a large grommet that will have a small section that will allow you to feed the wire through.

Is that possible that my harness is already wired for the fog lights? I believe I see a brown and white wire in that same pin 10 location. Please advise. Thank you!
It is possible that some trucks will already have the terminal occupied. If the terminal is taken then you will not need to connect the wire from the kit.
So on the pin 10 can u be more clear which that is . I see numbers on the top so do I continue to count the slots till # 10. I have this all installed and my fog lights are on and won't shut off
Your local Chevrolet dealer will have to do the programming. They will need the code that comes with the kit and from there they can load the information needed to your factory body control module.

You guys could not have been more unclear on where the wires go into the fuse box. I can't find a diagram of the fuse box with the nomenclature you used. Otherwise this a great video but sheesh this last part is slowing me down.
This should not void the warranty, especially if you have your local dealer install the kit. If you choose to install it yourself but have them update the BCM, they should still honor the warranty since it is a GM product.

I had no fog lights and had to install the whole harness but the Block had the wires already in place. Do I remove them and replace with the new harness wires
In the written instructions it states that if there are wires present then the harness that comes with the kit is not needed. 10. "It is giveaway on certain trim levels. If circuit is present in cavity 10, disregard steps 11 through 14, and 23 along with the single wire jumper that will not be needed. If circuit is not present, proceed to step 11." 25. "If there is a circuit present in this cavity, remove the wire and seal the terminal. Then insert the lone terminal from the jumper harness into the UEC connector, cavity B3."

The process could be similar but the wiring might be a bit different. We are not sure since we have not installed a fog light kit on the Colorado.

If the head light and the grill swapped with LEDs does it need to be programmed to work ?

Unfortunately these will not. Although the lights will mount the same the wiring is different according to Chevrolet.

Initially mine did, but it quickly went out and the dealership said there was no history

Although these are the same shape, the wiring is different for the 2500 models. So these kits will not work in the 2500 models.

Yes, a dealer should be able to install this kit with out any issues.

You guys could not have been more unclear on where the wires go into the fuse box. I can't find a diagram of the fuse box with the nomenclature you used. Otherwise this a great video but sheesh this last part is slowing me down.
Would this void the Warranty
This should not void the warranty, especially if you have your local dealer install the kit. If you choose to install it yourself but have them update the BCM, they should still honor the warranty since it is a GM product.

I have a kit with part number 84271151...do you know if this is the right one for 2021 custom trail boss???
Unfortunately that part number is not coming up as a valid number that we have for the fog light kits.

What do you do if there are already wires in the B3 and C3 ports on the fuse block?
I had no fog lights and had to install the whole harness but the Block had the wires already in place. Do I remove them and replace with the new harness wires
In the written instructions it states that if there are wires present then the harness that comes with the kit is not needed.
10. "It is giveaway on certain trim
levels. If circuit is present in cavity 10, disregard steps 11 through 14, and 23 along with the
single wire jumper that will not be needed. If circuit is not present, proceed to step 11."
25. "If there is a circuit present in this
cavity, remove the wire and seal the terminal. Then insert the lone terminal from the jumper
harness into the UEC connector, cavity B3."
