Pro tip! Crumble the parchment and run it under water. Squeeze out the water. Unfold and shake out excess water. Now you can easily fold and shape it into a dish!
Ami, thank you! I too am on a weight loss journey. I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes in late 2019-2020. Along with that came three medications, and one weekly injection. My doctors, plural as my pc has changed since the diagnosis, have said to simply take these medications, be more active, and you’ll be fine. In three years, I’ve managed to loose 15 pounds. I keep asking them what else to do. The response is always “everything in moderation.” That’s the furthest thing from helpful. I too am an eater, mass quantities, stress and emotional. This video, honestly gives me hope as becoming vegan has been something that’s run around my mind for years now, well before the diagnosis, too. Thank you for the courage, and inspiration.
A whole food plant based diet with no salt, oil or sugar (SOS), is excellent for diabetes but you should ask your doctor for a referral to a dietician. If you're taking injections and medications, a good diet is so effective at getting your blood glucose into a tight range at some point you'll likely need to reduce the medications with advice from your doctor. ua-cam.com/video/tAiXvrIMIIE/v-deo.html
Doctors often don't know anything about the right nutrition. I hate working out, and I lost 22 pounds without working out, over the last 3 years. Listen to Dr. MCdougall and Chef AJ too, so you have better idea how to lose weight healthy and without dieting. Ami's recipes are great too. I started to follow Dr.McDougall 3 years ago during pandemic, when I was diagnosed with very high cholesterol, despite my good BMI.
I follow some great plant based youtubers but you are for me the real deal- just love you & your family & of course the great recipes- what food processor do you have? My one isn’t as good- need to replace
You are amazing with your creations! You will be very well known and famous in future time. You will have your own show. I will be watching for sure! 💓
…. Btw can’t get enough of Romi 🥰 her cheerful face and her excitement when trying new recipes, just adorable 🥰 I think she is learning to make similar sounds to you when she takes a bite of food 😁 so so gorgeous ❤
I really enjoy your videos, especially the ones like this one that demonstrates one recipe at a time (rather than several in one video). It's just me but it helps me to save it under categories (i.e. desserts, dinner, etc) and easier to locate when ready to make. These jam bars look amazing!
Ami, can you make an oil-free Mexican Mole sauce (with or without chickpeas?) I love this type of sauce and can eat it the way you were eating that jam bar batter! haha. It is addictive since Mole sauce contains chocolate. Would so love for you to figure this one out for me! Thanks for the Jam Bar recipe! Looks incredible and I'll definitely be making that one!❤
Thank you ❤ I am gonna try this recipe! I have bought every e-book you have come out with, some successfull some not so much but i will keep trying and tweeking them i am no quitter😂 Thank you for your hardwork it is truly appreciated
I wanna double the chickpea biscuit pastry stuff and plonk a whole layer of it on top of the jam layer {instead of just crumble bits!} so it’s like sandwiched jam bars!! Ooh and drizzle with made up pb2 on top!❤❤❤
Oh my gosh Ami! I've got to make this, thank you for posting the recipe! I love chickpeas. I put them in my chocolate sweet potato pudding recipe (I think I got that from one of your videos). You are so creative! Thank you for sharing this. ❤
Thankyou for these. They look incredible. I cannot wait to tune in every single day to see what your next creation is! I think jam and coconut bars would be awesome too. I would love you try and make a coffee and walnut "cake" Ami style with beans obvs 😂 xx
Thank you Ami, yummmm! Ur like a little machine girrrl! Like this lil Home Industry! Soooo much energy! U wizz about! I LOVE yr channel! Ur such a lovely down to earth girl. I'm from South Africa but my dad was a Pom. Warm hugs girl. What a lovely mommy u are too ❤
I found you only recently on UA-cam, loving your recipes and presentation. I shall be following you and your recipes often now I’ve found you. You’re so natural and eating as you go made me laugh. 😂
Wow! That looks wonderful. I’ll need to try that. Do you have a good bean patty recipe? I keep trying different ones but I haven’t found one that tastes good and stays together. Love your channel! 👍
I made these and they are perfect! What an amazingly simple and healthy recipe! Thank you! I had some white beans that needed to be used so that's what I put in my jam bars! I didn't use parchment paper in my glass dish and they did not stick!
❤ all your recipes! I am making these right now. I just used frozen cherries and mango and i didn't mash them. Waiting for them to finish baking! By the way i am from California
That would be awesome but remember you can't legally call them Anzac biscuits unless you use a traditional recipe www.dva.gov.au/sites/default/files/files/about%20dva/recognition/guidelines-use-of-the-word-anzac.pdf Something with chickpeas would be so much healthier.
If you squeeze the tube of baking powder the lid should just pop off! 😅 I've had the same issue in the past and it really blew my mind when I worked that out 😂💓
I just tried these, so good! I added some vanilla protein powder (1/ 3 cup) and subtracted that on the flour. I will be making these again for sure, I might use fewer dates as I found the bars quite sweet. Great recipe, thank you!
I would totally eat all the dough and have nothing left to bake😂 my daughter and I make a recipe similar but not nearly as nutritious! I look forward to trying this out
Chia seeds are pretty high in fat. The jam bars look absolutely delicious. I will try the recipe, but I’m going to use tapioca starch instead of Chia seeds in the jam. I think that will work well.
Ha!! Just made it and I forgot the bananas!! HAHAHA Oh well I'm sure you cant go wrong. I could have eaten all of it before it went in the oven. I'll be trying it again I'm sure. Thanks for the inspo!!
Please read the ingredients of what you're using , P&b has coconut palmsugar in it, so your recipe is not sugar free unfortunately . Looks great though
So no sun anymore? I agree that there is a balance to have but I feel it hard nowadays... Like we need run from the sun like the plague... We do need sun
I am a little disappointed when I made this recipe. The bars came out cake like and not a crunchy bit in the lot . It has a nice taste even with no sugar so there's that. Also I had to add extra chia seeds to my blueberry topping in order to get them to thicken up. I baked for 30 minutes but perhaps longer would have been better? Or a hotter than 350°f. I may attempt them again later and tweak the temp/time.
Pro tip! Crumble the parchment and run it under water. Squeeze out the water. Unfold and shake out excess water. Now you can easily fold and shape it into a dish!
I don't even use the water. I just crumple and then spread in the pan.
@@KCallaAK same skip the water works great
Don't need the water
Thank you!!

I learned if you wet the parchment paper you can then mold it easier in the basking dish!
Also works to crumple parchment into a tight ball then smooth out and it becomes much easier to conform to whatever shape you’re going for.
@@heididow09 yeah, that is what i do, usually crumple then wet it and smooth it into the pan shape

CHICKPEA FUDGE BROWNIES
I love the jam bars and I’m going to try them.
Love this! ❤️ delicious treat without any unnecessary fat
Made this for my mum. Turned out great! Thank you for a great recipe.
Romi is a great taste tester😊😂She loves everything you make🎉Too cute.
"stop Ami,STOP"! Lol
Thank you. I made these and they were delicious! Love your videos. You remind me of Kate Winslet. 👍
I want Chickpea Bread 🍞
I’ll be making that jam slice OMG 🥳
I second chickpea bread recipe too
Make that times 3 for me!!
I love listening to your chatter. Brits have the best words. Knackered, crack on, etc. We Americans are so boring.
Thank you so much for sharing your jam bar recipe. I’m getting ready to make it now so I can have it for breakfast in the morning. Can’t wait!
😂
Thank you for adding the written recipe here as well. These look SO yummy!!!!
Ami, if you wet the parchment paper and wrinkle it up and then it will fit into your pan better and won't move.
u don't need to wet it. just scrunch it up then flatten it out.
@@CastledarkDweller27 I prefer to wet it as many chefs do.

I just made these! Came out so nice! Thank you for the beautiful recipe!
Hi Ami and everyone. i made these jam bars hoping it would turn out as nice as they looked ....... OMG tastes fabulous.

Can’t wait to make these. I’ll probably eat all the batter lol. ❤ all your videos, Romi, and your recipes!!! Thx 😊
I would love you to make a chocolate pie with a crust using chickpeas any way you can. I’m missing chocolate pie!❤
Chickpea Chile Rellenos
Wow! That looks wonderful. I’ll need to try that. Do you have a good bean patty recipe? I keep trying different ones but I haven’t found one that tastes good and stays together. Love your channel! 👍
Well done! I like how you lightly edit the video when you are getting the big bowl out.
Just crumble parchment paper no water needed. Your method works too. That's what I do too. Thanks this looks yummy.
Would make it tonight if I had chia seeds, I have everything else. Thanks for the videos!
If you have flax seeds you can use this instead of chia
I always have a mixture of ground flax and chia seeds. That's what I used!
Definitely going to try this , looks amazing
OMG! This recipe looks amazing!!! I've got to try this!! I also agree with the tip of crumbling the parchment paper. Great idea.
Any luck with chickpea plant-based "meatloaf" or is meatloaf just a USA thing?
You could easily throw some ground flaxseed into the batter also that would make it even a bit healthier.
This will be tested on the weekend
Definitely.
Thanks for sharing hun. Those jam tarts look fab ❤xxx

Chickpea Anzac biscuits?
These jam bars are delicious! The bananas I used were huge so I threw in an extra 1/2 oat flour, they came out perfect!
That would be awesome but remember you can't legally call them Anzac biscuits unless you use a traditional recipe www.dva.gov.au/sites/default/files/files/about%20dva/recognition/guidelines-use-of-the-word-anzac.pdf

I'm going to have to try and make this.
I can hardly wait to make this! Ami, could you use chickpeas to make a pie crust? (Since you were asking for a challenge!) 😊
If you crunch up your parchment paper before flattening it in the pan, it stays put much better
I would love if you could make some flapjack’s with chick pea ❤
what temp do you bake and for how long? :) It tastes good from here...
I just tried these, so good! I added some vanilla protein powder (1/ 3 cup) and subtracted that on the flour. I will be making these again for sure, I might use fewer dates as I found the bars quite sweet. Great recipe, thank you!
I think Dr. McDougall doesn't recommend protein powders. But you would need to double check.
These looks amazing! Have to try them!
chocolate chip cookies with beans!!!
Love your video always so natural thank you 😊
What a fantastic recipe 🥰 can’t wait to make it 😃 thank you so very much for doing this recipe video 😋
I decided to sub protein powder for the PB2 since I'm trying to lose weight and they came out great
Thanks I'll definitely be trying these out ❤
Love your videos❤
Can we replace oat flour with almond flour?
I would totally eat all the dough and have nothing left to bake😂 my daughter and I make a recipe similar but not nearly as nutritious! I look forward to trying this out

Amazing, jam without all the sugar 👍

Chick pea pie crust?!?!

Do you cook beans weekly?
Chia seeds are pretty high in fat. The jam bars look absolutely delicious. I will try the recipe, but I’m going to use tapioca starch instead of Chia seeds in the jam. I think that will work well.
well did it?😁please?😊

i01smb I can't bear bananas so did your banana free recipe work out ok texture wise?
I'd love to see more recipes without bananas, we have an allergy here. Looks amazing!!
Try a white or purple or even a normal sweet potato instead of the banana!
I have to make that !! omg i miss eating jam so much!!!😭
Bonjour
Un flan vanille au pois chiches vous pouvez faire?
Merci beaucoup
Hi
Why mash the banana separately? Could have just added it to the chickpeas in the food processor! Less clean up!
How long did you bake it? And what temp?
30mins 180
AWESOME CREATIVE GLORY WITH CHICK PEAS!! BLESSINGS!!~ MMMMM GOOD!

She just posted the whole recipe on Instagram. Can’t wait to make these!

Ami, you are so great. Thank you for your content - I watch your videos almost daily and recommend you to everyone!
The hardest part is waiting for them to cool down enough so I can eat them 😂
Hi Ami. Could you let us know how long that you baked the jam bars.
In her instagram recipe she says 30 mins
Hi the recipe is under the vlog 👍🏼
Chickpea pasta of gnoccie 😊
Chickpea tofu??
