Using Lightroom on a tablet device with a screen can be a real pain in the a$$ having to reach over the image to make adjustments. Thankfully though this is no longer the case in Lightroom Classic AND Lightroom Mobile on devices like the iPad.
Here's how to turn on ... Left Handed Editing.

I've learned to use both my wacom tablet and a mouse together. The mouse for selecting different tools, etc. and the stylus for everything else.

As a lefty, it’s fantastic to see software finally take us seriously. However, since I’ve been doing things for so long, and I don’t use a tablet, I’ve gotten pretty used to LrC as it is. But if I ever invest in a tablet, I’ll be ready!

As a fellow lefty, this will certainly be handy. It bothers me less in LR Classic, and my brain is trained to where the editing dialogs are, but because I'm interacting with it via a mouse or a digitising pad it doesn't matter so much that all the sliders are on the right. LR Mobile though, absolutely a pain, which is probably why I haven't been using it much. Great video!!

Glad this is useful mate. Yeah agree re the Lightroom Classic on a desktop. In the near future I’ll be using Lightroom Classic on a Tablet Display so being able to change Adjustments to the left-hand side will be very welcome indeed. A few years ago I had a Cintiq and it was the inability (back then) to swap the sides that the Adjustments were on, that stopped me using it and eventually sell it. Different now though so I’m looking forward to trying it out on a bigger ‘interactive’ display.

Just got your book I love the quality of the print and paper if I may add one suggestion hard cover option would be awesome. I realize it will be more money however I think it’s worth it.
Thanks Rafal...glad you like it. Not sure publishers would go for hard cover these days ... very expensive to reproduce, transport and production costs, but I'll certainly pass it on.

Interesting... one of the reasons I bailed from LR to Capture 1 was the lack of LH support. Now if Fujifilm were to make LH side shutter releases ... or a customisable button (and why not with mirrorless and electronic shutters?)....then we'd be talking.
Guess I’m lucky I’m lefty and play games with lefty settings but when it comes to shutter it feels natural on the right. That being said I feel your pain.

Unfortunately because my iMac is too old and cannot run the latest OS this option is not available in LR Classic 11.5, the latest version I can run.

I have a samsung R9+ tablet. The option for left handed Is not there in lightroom mobile. Very frustrating. Any help would be appreciated!
That will be huge for me on Lightroom mobile, but I think I'll leave it on the default for classic. I'm used to RH mouse and LH pen.

Small story to share, when I was a child, I was lucky that at the school I went they were accepting us kids to start writing with our left hands. In some other schools, they still used a stick to slap on the left hand whenever a child used it. But I could write with both hands! And they made me choose!! So I lost a part of that great creative path . Nevertheless, I can still write , use mouse, etc with the left hand , and handle scissors, knives, or camera with the right hand. But my dominant eye? Oh that didn't change, still the left eye!
I guess Glyn, that each of us has stories to share about being left handed and the struggles we went through. Thanks for sharing this tip, I didn't know it.

good catch. just a note LR on iPhone dose not have this option
Never thought about this handed issue with LR or PS, even though I tend to use a mouse left handed. Trackpad is either hand as it's in middle and the lesser used pen in right hand. I can see it being an issue on iPad, but only use LR occasionally on a phone which isn't asymmetric. I mostly use left hand for phone.
All interfaces should customisable for all the different ways folk use them. Mainly because most folk only ever use a subset of entire toolset. Some of which can be hidden away in menus. Corel Draw was excellent in this regard. You could place just the icon icon shortcuts you used most often on toolbar and bin the rest. There were hundreds to choose from.
Being left handed makes scrolling thru layers on a Cintiq in Photoshop a hassle since one is covering the layers as they are trying to navigate to one. It would be nice if they could move the scroll button to the left side too!!! Baby steps I guess....

Hopefully that is going to be rectified very soon. However this is great news for us that will use Lightroom directly on a screen... kind of like a Cintiq
