most descriptive and simple video I’ve seen on the cp4. Same with All your videos and products for the 6.7. thanks for the video
New viewer/subscriber here and also a new Powerstroker owner. Just wanted to say, this is by far the best video showcasing the ease of install and how this kit works. About an hour after watching this, I watched the episode on TruckU where they halfass explained what the "Disaster whatever kits" as they said, do and how they installed it. I stopped watching once they got to the part where they cut the line... Your video made me a buyer, so keep up the good content sir 👍
I 'm glad you don't have the big C, You don't have your heath you got nothing! Love your truck man,Great Vid, Keep up the good work!!!!!!
U should make a package that has all of your personal favorites to do to the trucks
i bought this kit because of this video and how easy it looks and the fact that the parts look heavy duty. Great video keep it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Waiting on SPE to start shipping these out, ordered one a month ago. BTW your run down using the actual pump in hand was the best on the nets and cleared up a lot of questions I had regarding the way the pump is fed. I was confused on how it separated the crank from the heads, but have a very clear understanding of it now. 2 thumbs up, while I still have them.
I got mine last week and installed it Sunday!!!! Beautiful kit!
Did for me too, I have installed a handful of a different brands kits...and I would always scratch my head on how the fuck it was redirecting metal from the system. The kits we use, you have to cut the fuel line and use a compression fitting to attach to it.
I don’t even own a powerstroke but I’m lovin this video lol
I dont even own a 6.7 and I want to buy this kit! 😂 looks awsome easy to install and you explained very well 👍🏼 time to buy a 6.7!
S&S Diesel's kit includes a big filter for the return. It uses a Donaldson filter, which are readily available, and filters far better than a screen. All the fuel line connections on their kits if using all the Ford OE style click-fit fittings.
Well this was good to know since my Volvo 2L 5cyl is equipped with the same pump😅
I love my 6.0 and yes I had it BP Zero issues, when i tell people its BP they actually u can shoot at it 😂🤣
Yessir 6.0 is a good truck
I just had to point out that McDonald's coffee is actually pretty darn good!
Glad you are ok. My Dad just got diagnosed with stage 4 big C, been killing me.
If I had a 6.7 (got a 6.2) I would get this kit, looks well thought out and user friendly on the install.
This is sick, perfect explanation
Thank you so much man!!! I was just looking at cp4 protection yesterday and everything looked like a pain. This just answered my prayers!
Now I'll buy it, thanks for your video man!!!
I have mine ordered can’t wait to get it!! By far the Best design in the industry!
I can't wait to hit 36k. I'll be on SPE's Fanboy list! Installed their high flow low temp thermostat, very happy!
Why did you install a different thermostat, what are your benifits? Thanks
@@curtisbull1583 well probably the whole "high flow low temp" part but thats just a guess
cp4 is the heart of the truck
One has to ask, WHY does FORD not put these things in their trucks anyways!?!?!?
Gotta make sure the mechanics have a job
Gotta make that dolla
I think they just didn’t know the longevity problem, also people tuning them and all the new emissions. It definitely cost them a lot of money and that’s why they cut ties with International
I disagree the REAL question here is why not just install a CP3?
Thank you. I just got a 2017 f450 with 6.7l flat bed. Has 80k miles on it and I want it to last. I don't plan to boost up the turbos but this kit is more my speed. Thanks again.
The real disaster is those wheels.
When we gonna get you on the Podcast?!?!🙋♂️🤔💯
Best kit I had seen was the fuel reroute kit that re-routes your fuel back through an additional filter before it goes to the fuel rails.
That's a bypass system mo
You know of a filter that handles 20000psi?
SPE IS A BLESSING
That is wicked sick, that’s my next upgrade right there bro.
This video is so much better than that dumpster fire of a video that results will vary came out with
If there's debris clogging the little beer keg, a) wouldn't it clog/backup return fuel going back towards the tank? B) overall with a disaster prevention system like this, how do you know a cp4 breakdown or explosion occurred? Will the truck throw a code? A good awful noise from the engine bay? Great video though, I finally understand with visuals what happens with a cp4 failure. Thank you!!
@Michael Smith it does help, thank you. Run poorly or not at all, but the kit prevents the engine from grenading?
Yeah pretty much. This just happened to my brother. Cost 11 grand to fix. He told me to do this to my 6.7....so I will.

@@wretchedrider2157 It prevents metal from a failed pump from screwing your injectors but it ALSO prevents that same metal from going back to the fuel tank and screwing up your tank and fuel lines. It contains the metal shavings from the failed pump. Yeah...you'll still have to replace the CP4, but you won't have to replace injectors, the whole fuel system, and possibly the engine.
Very good and clear explanation on how this new part(s), work. Looking forward to the install video...and some review/feedback. Thanks Cory
Thanks for the support bill!
@@TopCorey hey I was on the website trying to buy this spe kit and there was no option to ship to Canada, can I get this shipped to Canada? Or am I out of luck? Lmk thanks
Can’t forget the ceramic bearings in the turbo. That’s a fun weekend when those go out….
How cool!! Awesome video! Will get one for my truck right away!
i just got a diesel truck and i can i love it its not that bad and i was kinda dissing trucks for a while thinking they wouldnt be good but they changed my mind
👍👍
My 2012 f350 is still going strong at 135,000 miles. All stock on 35 in tires. Even my Ford buddies think it's lifted with all these aftermarket parts and in reality I haven't added anything lmao pulls better than any of my buddies vehicles by a longshot.
Great video. I have need working with my brother thy is a diesel mechanic since I bought a truck. All though I have a 6.0. I still like to learn about everything all these truck have.
Thanks for the simple yet effective explanation! Seams like less than an hour install. Next addition to my truck, aka Snow Goose.
I wish buddy. It takes at least a hour just to get to the top of the cp4 and I have done 4 times installing exenrgey mprop valves. Also reinstalling the upper intake manifold is a bit#h
Welcome back brother!
Man you are so much better at this than Dan is 😂 it was cool watching his product drop video but he is definitely not cut out for that aspect of all this haha
Great informative video. Thanks buddy, been watching your videos for some time. You have come a long way with your videos. Keep it up
Will the fuel screen on the mini keg cause any issue from flow restriction? How often should that screen be checked and/or replaced? If the screen starts to plug off, what issues could arise?
Its a return, so no, there would be no issue with fuel restriction.
@@Ziefiery something has to happen if there's no return.
@@Ziefiery that is not true. A restriction in the return can cause cavitation issues
If the filter screen in the mini keg is obstructed, that means your fuel pump has shit the bed. You'll know it when the truck runs like garbage, check engine lights, etc. You'll have to replace the CP4 pump, but at least you won't need a new engine and/or entire fuel system/injectors/etc.
I’m saving to drop that on my town car,it’s going to be funny and fun.
My 6.0L has over 340k and love it! EPA is the enemy of diesel trucks. Do the deletes and make any of them offroad trucks and you will have a much improved experience. I also love my 6.7L, my 2020 is a much improved over my 2016. Just gave my son the 6.0L.
Would love to see it on your truck. Had issues with the S&S one causing low rail pressure so I took it off.
Funny, I just ordered it... installing this weekend...
Once it arrives, that is.... they’re slammed with orders, still waiting.
Was it an easy install ??
Can’t wait to get mine in. Also ordered a new MPROP. After watching Ronnie install it he suggested just in case the o rings are bad.
What bad oring is he referring to? Seems like you dont need the MPROB with this kit. It gets fuel right from the filter.
Kyle Brenay the o-rings on the inlet metering valve (MPROP) that you connect to on the CP4
Fun fact. Ford has branched off from navstar for obvious reason. NAVSTAR wasn’t paying ford for warranty work on their engines and there was lots of issues. The 6.7 power stroke is built in house and fords middle finger to navstar, which is why the 6.7 power stroke is one hell of a work horse.
I’m a Chevy guy but this truck has definitely got my attention because it really is an all American truck vs Chevy with the 6.6 that is built by isuzu that is built here in the us but still Japanese owned
Nice 👍🏼 I have been thinking of getting a Powerstroke and this is great info.
Buying a ford is like signing up for a disaster in your life kit lol. Jk guys duramax has cp4 problems too sooo. Should be recalled. I like the speed design on this great job
you have showed two different ways to disaster proof the fuel pump i need to do my truck, after going both , what one do you think is best now you have used both , thanks
I appreciate the step by step!
MCDONALD'S COFFEE IS PHUKING AWESOME MAN!!!
Well thank you sir. I’ve been running 7.3s since they came out. Finally got a ‘15 king ranch for pulling( definitely a non regrettable upgrade), so been doing some research on the 2gen 6.7 which seems to be the pick, unless they got that 10 speed figured out now. Anyways. Thanks for the detailed video. I will now be ordering this based on your review. Thanks a lot man! You earned my sub!
That’s funny you where a hotshot I was a Drilling Consultant for the oil field in penn and Ohio I called all the time. I wonder what year u where doing this
How long does the factory set up usually last ? And does this void warranties ??
I would 100% void warranty on any fuel related issues. HOWEVER if it was brought to me and asked to install it I would and keep your warranty cause I know I did the work.
What size lift did you need for that wheel/tire combo? And what size, offset are they? Looks nice man!
24x14 on 35s. Stock lift he put bumper spacers so he doesn’t rub. Check his channel out he made various videos about the wheels
Stoked to see the install. Will this work for the ‘16? Not sure if anything other than tuning is different between the years. Already took my truck to Mexico and lost “some parts”
Eagerly awaiting the follow-up for the install ... hope the other distractions are resolved, wishing the best.
Soooooo we gonna get a direct link on where to purchase this particular one?
Awesome video buddy
Now I’ve got one question would you recommend putting in a fass fuel system as well?
2 kits both leaked, also s&s 2 kits leaked...just upgraded to the new cp3 pump for 6.7 and no issues
Few different people said they leak u posted cp3 was g2g 7months ago any update?
Just had the CP4 failure on my 2016 6.7 Powerstroke. $8000. Forgot to have them “bulletproof” it. Must do this ASAP!
This is awesome!! My only issue is I found this a week too late! I have/had a 2012 F350 with 228,000 miles on it. was running great, interior an body were solid. The fuel filter cracked and sprayed fuel all over the engine compartment. Easy fix, replace the filter right......wrong! Not enough fuel was feeding the pump causing catastrophic failure. Long story short Ford is asking $11,000 another shop will do it for $9,900 (including a disaster kit). A $20 fuel filter turns out is going to cost me $11,020.....unbelievable.
My failure on 2011 F350 was two summers ago. $7200. Plus I had to wait a couple months for the parts which were on backorder. Apparently this is a common and profitable repair.
That’s what scares the shit out of me to buy one of these.
Cannabis coffee from my garden🎉😊
430,000 kms on mine , original cp4 , original injectors , Dpf delete / EGR delete on a 200 HP tune daily ! I'd say there pretty robust. 🇨🇦🏴☠️

Hey Brother, I am happy to announce that I've purchased my retirement truck. The proud owner of an F350, 2019, 6.7 PowerStroke! I'm a retired Marine and want to BOSS it up! after watching several 6.7 channels the decision has been made. We are subscribing to you and hope you'll help us turn the beautiful truck into a head-turner. As of now, I've got to replace the glow plug 6 LOL, I'll be doing the whole side and the other side next week. Other than the SPE, what else would you recommend? OUTSTANDING VIDEO! Ya'll be cool, SSGT DAVID E R L USMC
The whole "bullet proof" thing is a metaphor. You know, impervious to most threats, exactly the way everyone would prefer to be.
Thanks for showing this kit. I will be buying one.
No problem!! Thanks for watching
@@TopCorey can I get the website to other the kit plz
My return line started leaking because the return line has to be twisted to fit the return line canister filter. This is on the 2019 f350.
My 2017 now has 39k miles. Was in the shop with engine and transmission pulled out to replace the rear main seal. Starting severely leaking at 36k miles.
man i was onboard till i started tracking the fuel path in my head.... this only saves your injectors but when a failure occurs your still going to have to unfuck debris blown back into the tank. obviously the original fuel filters will prevent any of that from coming back into the system but its still not a 100% containment
great point but perhaps dropping your fuel tank and clearing the lines is cheaper and easier then rebuilding the engine / fuel system?
Definitely going with this Kit
You must be the guy who shattered my windshield a bit ago. Thanks for the advice though
Ordered mine on Black Friday! Love the channel!
Any thoughts on spin on fuel filters under the hood?
These rim are perfect match
6.0's are misunderstood. Awesome engine if you are willing to do some preventative maintenance and a few mods. Personally have seen 6.0's with well over 500k miles with little to no issues. Use a Quality 5w-40 diesel oil (i prefer amsoil) & filter, change fuel filters every 10-15k mi and flush out the factory motorcraft coolant. Replace with a diesel elc type coolant and the oil cooler will love ya ! A few revised parts, coolant filter and egr delete and the 6.0 will be as reliable and more powerful than a 7.3. I know cause I own both. I will not speak on behalf of the 6.4's tho... lol. Well done on your video !
Maybe true if you could keep the heads bolted down. Head gasket failed because it does not have enough bolts holding it down. You can not maintain that. It's a poorly designed and executed engine.
Sounds like a great kit. I live in the Dallas area so do you know a shop to do instillation. Great video.
Well done! 👍🏼
Deff gonna pick one of these up
Will this work on 2011-2016's or just 2017's?
On the site it has an option for 11-16 and 17+
I have a 2012 with 186K and knock on wood it has Ben the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned.
If your fuel pump fails, won't pressure in the fuel rail return line also drop? And if it drops, is it possible for return fuel from the cp4 to migrate into the fuel rail by short circuiting the t and new inline filter? The micron filter will create backpressure, so there needs to be assurance that the fuel rail return pressure will remain higher than the filter back pressure in a failure scenario.
6.0 are really good if they aint stock
according to the website it fits to the 2021 model.. its 50 state compliant so it should not affect warranty if needed. If I had a newish truck it would be added just as a protection measure that you hope is NEVER needed.. aka.. cheap insurance.
I have a 17 super duty. Neighbor is a 20 year Mercedes Benz diesel mechanic. Told me to pour in a bottle of marvel mystery oil in every other tank of gas and your Diesel engine will go 300k+ with zero problems. 137k now and never been to the shop except for standard maintenance. So far so good.
Interesting....mystery revealed.
Just got my email from spe yesterday that mine is on the way. I’m like a kid waiting on Santa
I got an email also, not good the news you got tho lol
Ford tried to solve the cp4 from 11-14 by putting a cp4.2 from 15-current. Although it is a better pump. Still has the same issues lol. Non guided lifter on a cam lob is a terrible design.
Thanks for this
I definitely want to get it done
I see this was two years ago
Has anything better come out?
If not I plan to get this kit you featured
Any idea about how much someone would charge to install it?
Only problem I have, the cp4 is a known problem, why wouldn't Ford change this? or install all of this from the factory, then the 6.7 would be 100% the best, most reliable engine straight from the factory...
Good video. Love look of the platinum with those wheels. How much offset do you have on your wheels? What tires are those?
Does running Lucas fuel treatment help at all to prevent bad fuel contamination or poor cp4 lubrication
Turbos and EGR coolers as well.
best way to bulletproof: Delete all emissions systems.
I've seen other channels show 6.7's with no emissions systems that went to 1.3 million miles with nothing but regular maintenence.
I wanna do this, but how do you pass SMOG in ca?
@@tylerpetit33 you can’t as far as I know, you may have to get it registered in another state but even here in Texas mines not legal but they don’t really care here plus I have a shop I go to that passes all my illegal mods
@@tylerpetit33 move out of cali, they have emission compliant tunes
@@robertcastiaux9890 if you can "illegally" pass it in Texas why wouldn't you be able to do the same at a shop in Cali ?
@@Peter-fg7rd Cali is liberal ran (not trying to be political) and they are kinda at the frontline of emission wars
Big problem I see with this kit is how small the filter is, so small that clogging would happen quickly.
It clogs you stop.
Better would be to run it out of the cramped area and run it to a real filter that has capacity before it would clog.
That was my thought. Lol.
S&S has a large canister type 6 micron return fuel filter.
Probably wait for the manufacturer warranty to expire then put the kit in
How do I disaster proof my truck from ending up with those rims
Just picked one up glad to help you out however possible. Which do you prefer Teflon tape or liquid thread sealant?
Not regular plumbing tape. Need whatever you decide to be rated for hydrocarbon service. Teflon tape leaks when used on diesel.
I’m wondering if I can use parts of this on my TDI’s Bosch CP4 HPFP. Any thoughts? I’ve emailed the maker too-just waiting to hear back
All you have to do to bulletproof a 2015-current power stroke is a new intercooler and intercooler piping. Sone say egr delete but it burns so clean as it is that there is no need to delete a newer power stroke.
Should be using the correct technology lubrication anyway, then sounds like will prevent and reduce that lacking lube problem. And guess what, many other wearing issues are solved AND you'll actually have more efficiency throughout the rest of the moving parts on the truck AND that means more power produced and put to the ground.
