This is exactly what I will do to mine when I get the bloody thing. The folding buckets are brilliant, way easier to live with than the 918 buckets
Porsche always knock it out of the park with functionality while maintaing the aesthetic aspect. Brilliant looking seats especially with the full carbon backing.
Try a folding bucket for driver and comfort seat for passenger. i did this and haven’t looked back!
100% agree! This is perfect
Fully agree: softer suspension in comfort and back seats as an option for the 992.2 GT3 Touring 😊
Yes. 9000rpm, rear seats, compliant suspension and no spoiler means to you can use it more.
Love that this car is ‘used’ …swirl marks, paint chips, really under the radar but goes like the clappers. Good honest car 😊
The giggling tells us all we need to know👍
Wondering if it wouldn't just be easier to put a GT3 engine in a GTS? 😄 Great car and yes the buckets are v comfortable.
Haha…maybe!
Stunning concept and car.
Another great video. Happy New Year Sam.
Happy New Year 🙏🏻
Lovely conversation that mate!
Imagining a (718) GTS 4.0-ish thing 😅
Hi Sam. I have a 991 C4GTS (3.8l) which is a great car. It’s PDK and the spec of this car which RPM have done is baller. However is it really worth spending another 50 k + for a little extra power ? I have the DSC Controller which you put in one of your videos which makes the car a little better on the road. If I got a GT3 which I probably will I would definitely do what RPM offer.
This is the ideal 911 for me, love it.
Yeah, mega
Yes to the rear seat option 👍
New to this you tuber! Enjoyed it! I am a supporter of guys starting a new channel.
Welcome
gt3 touring is what the 911 should be ... they should just mass produce them and cancel all the lower range stuff
😂
Game changer!
Can’t recall seeing Sam laugh like this when driving a car..😂
It’s the fake UA-camr laugh
I am soooooo tempted to buy a gt3 and do the same
But with a manual Sam?
@@RobGalvin65 with a manual
I love a GT3 but for daily my pdk 991 targa ticks more boxes...however the thought of a GT3 engine in a targa would be perfection imho😍
That would be cool
This. I have a 991.1 targa gts and going to make it a gt3 tribute car. Already have wheels and front bumper. Gt3 rear bumper and exhaust next.
My preferred 911 is a GT3 Touring with back seats (from the factory) and a manual box ... I agree, Porsche should build it
Yesssssss! I sold my 718 gt4 as I just was never able to drive it with my wife and kid!!!! I was always disappointed really. This is my perfect car, with a manual.
Absolutely
can you do this to the 992 gt3/tourings
I met one guy who did this to a 991.1 RS and I’m very tempted to do this to mine.
Can this be done on a 992 GT3 Touring
Awesome to see! I really want a Touring but I also want my kids to fit, this will be a future project, maybe the 992.2 Touring if I get one!!!
Ya, I bought a manual 991.2 Carrera T with back seats. With a tune, hopefully it's close!
@@eric.frasch It´s close!!!! Congrats on the T, cool car!! I´m getting my Turbo S in 2-3 months!!!
Looks great. Main concerns would be the implications on aero and what effect the lack of a wing has at higher speeds, and also on Porsche warranty. Presumably they won’t cover a car with this conversion?
Same as the normal touring aero wise, warranty might be interesting but these cars are possibly out of warranty now and you could get a third party one if wanted.
Apparently letters from Porsche were sent to owners recently, advising against this. Understandable, especially if nothing done to adjust the front, after removing the rear wing.
Yes, a GT3 touring with Rear seats and ACC (for touring) with manual transmissions, as VW group manage it.... Currently rocking a similar GTS to yours....
ACC!!!!!!!
You can’t get Adaptive cruise control with manual on any Porsche. Without PDK it is no go zone and even if you would somehow retrofitted it on manual car what is the point of having ACC, when you have to swift gears manually and it gets canceled everytime you change gear or go to neutral, might well just stick to classic cruise control not adaptive one. If you have different info about ACC on manual car let me know.
@@anmu9038 I just want it to follow the car in-front in 6th gear etc, i can deal with everything else.
Very informative video. Not a fan though of the constant jerky picture as ended up with a bit of a headache!
Yeah sorry about that, I keep trying to remember to stand still
Ah thank God was dreading thinking this was only available in Europe. RPM Technik thank you!... Would insurance premium go up because of the rear seats? I assume void of Porsche warranty if back seats put in?
It wasn’t a painful amount if they did go up. Presumably warranty gone but you could get a third party which is the similar
Love that. I’d go one step further and have asymmetric front seats. Folding bucket for driver and 2-way Sports Plus seat for passenger side to keep the Wife happy.
I would 100% do this as well
Haha yeah I had a similar thought. I’d have the 918 bucket seat in the drivers seat, and the folding buckets for the passenger to get luggage in the back and so they aren’t flying around everywhere! Couldn’t believe how comfy the 918 buckets where when I went in one the other day.
@@williampowell9013 Absolutely, i've seen it on a singer before and always thought about doing it to my gt3 rs
I know someone who has exactly this setup in his.
Those folding carbon buckets are soooo nice!
They are!
One thing I hate is the default centerlocks from Porsche, otherwise a great build!
Yeah they are annoying
Would be great if Porsche were to build and offer the ability to spec this as a regular 911, but I’m sure the OPC network wouldn’t be able to help themselves in not playing silly allocation games.
100%
The seat back of the carbon bucket seat is not homologated for head impact. That is the reason Porsche does not offer this option. It is not a safe conversion for the rear passengers.
This is actually a 991.2 GT3 that has been converted into a touring >> Because of the automatic gearbox that is not available for the official 991.2 GT3 touring
How long before one of these is on your drive???
We shall have to see haha
Porsche are fools for not providing this option. Would do this ASAP if I had one.
Does anyone know anyone in the US that can do this back seat conversion by chance?
Sadly not, you could ship the parts over from the uk and add your own seats?
@rpmtechnik how much roughly for just the rear spoiler delete?
£13.8k+vat
Check out this. ua-cam.com/video/22IIRVk0Z-M/v-deo.html
@@sammooresphoto So £13.8+vat for the spoiler conversion and circa £12k for the rear seat conversion?
Wow, that’s crazy
@@888mattd yes, unfortunately a lot of expensive Porsche parts
Love this car but why would you just not get a 911 turbo S instead of doing the whole back seat conversion etc
GT3 better for spirited drives when the kids aren’t in the back.
because the turbo sounds rubbish and is actually too quick
Love it! Would add a DeMan 4.5L conversion and enjoy a 600bhp NA GT3 to make it the perfect car.
I'd be keen to drive that!
@@sammooresphoto I know Matt Farah has the video of his Spyder coming up very shortly for a taster, but theres videos out there of GT3s that have had the conversion and its like an angry cup car engine... Whats not to love! ;-)
@@WillSatchwell I will have a google, didn't know there were any 991 + that had it done. Have seen a few 997 rs with the Manthey 4.something
@@sammooresphoto Im not sure I will ever forget the video of the sharkwerks 997.2 with the 4.2L engine that was on Tuned all those years ago. Incredible thing! This is the video I saw of the 991.2 GT3 with the 4.5L: ua-cam.com/video/NrCusUFGIxY/v-deo.html
@@WillSatchwell yeah that sharkwerks car is burned into my memory
I personally think my 991.2 gt3 suspension is soft lol…
Also you have the buckets from my 997 gt2 not the 918 bucjets for the 991 hmm
Touring owner here. I hear a lot of owners wishing they had back seats. this is so cool!
Yeah super cool
no iso fix is a real shame
I wish Porsche made a 911 GTS 4.0 NA car like they did with the Cayman & Boxster because the GT3 Touring has become unattainable because of collectors who never drive that thing but just hoard it like so many other amazing cars
Time to take the cage out of your 3RS, Sam? ;)
I’ve been tempted for a while actually
12 bag is a lot for rear seat's 😳
it is
That's what I was thinking..GTS in Oz are about the same money as GT3s... wanted to put seats in a GT3 to overcome the issue but that means about ,$25K Aussie😮😮😮😮😮😮
the mounting point for the rear seats was the same for gt cars up until the 997.1 gt3. after that it was different. im curious how they accomplished the rear seat installation since Andreas preuninger hates it when people do that because the car hasn't been crash tested for rear seats. also would like to know more about how this was TUV approved
never know why you would spend all that, to then convert this specific car, to then also make it under the radar
that's the whole point
Your reaction should tell you all you need to know. Goodbye GTS , always thought you to be more of a GT product guy anyway.
👍 *promo sm*
The paint condition of that car is appalling.
This conversion must have ruined the used value of this car - not a wise move in my opinion.
Wtf is going on here? Such a mess.
So you got converted Back Seat and dont try them on tape ok
Is not secret that is overpriced
