- "Foxcatcher" was nominated for five Academy Awards and tells to true story of Dave Shultz, who was tragically shot and killed in the late 1980s by John DuPont. His widow, Nancy Shultz, talked with morning anchor Rob Finnerty about the film and how true to life it really was.

From the little I saw of Dupont on a documentary you could see that he tried to come across as being something he was not and that he tried to live his dreams inadvertently through Schultz. Sad story.
Haven't seen the film, but the documentary was brilliant! DuPont also had a thing about the colour black. He had all the black horses taken away, you couldn't drive a black car and he also had the two or three African American wrestlers removed from farm. Honestly, I can't understand why his physician didn't get him sectioned before he shot and killed Dave Schultz. That was so sad.
SweetPeach Bellini Schizophrenic
He was paying the bills, they didn't have the balls to cut off the gravy train, even after 300 red flags
Loneliness is really destructive to the mind and it can get anyone crazy. I remember my first year at college in a new city in Sweden. I still get scared remembering how lonely I felt and irrational my behaviour was that year. Luckily I met my gf after a year, and I got few true friends to hang with.
Mark Shultz is an amazing wrestler, martial artist and human being. Love that guy!
When it comes to write a script about an event you need to change around things like timeline so that you can create a flow. You have to make sure you have writing rules applied otherwise the movie will not get made. No movie is matched to the real event. Only documentaries are close because you get the story being told by each individually. No one can or will act the events. I hope that helps to explain about the changes
Kurt Angle has spoken about how heavily sedated DuPont was all the time. They all feel terrible for seeing the signs but not knowing what to do or what would happen.
All who knew DuPont knew he wasn’t right. Had pulled guns on wrestlers before the incident took place.
Someone should have had a courage to report it. And they all should have left his properties.
John DuPont shot and killed Dave Schultz, not Mark Schultz.
How much did she get from the estate & movie deal?
The guy stared at video shot on his grounds for hrs on end seeing Walt Disney characters in the footage, had companies dig up his yard and floor of his house looking for secret tunnels and carried around a machine gun shooting at random....I don't know if I was one of the wrestlers that lived there I would have packed up my shit and gotten out of there like a bat out of hell !!!
NOT FOR NOTHING,BUT I SEEN THE MOVIE & DOCUMENTARY WHEN DU PONT TALKS ABOUT LOOKING INTO THE VIDEO FOOTAGE SOMETHING I SAW WAS MOVING!!!
brilliant film sorry tale
brilliant film

I watched it last night and enjoyed but I don't see how she could claim the movie was "a completely accurate film," when 1. Dupont murdered Mark Schultz in 1996, not 1988. 2. Mark and Dave never lived there at the same time. 3. Dupont actually lived in the house where Mark lived in the movie. Mom lived in the mansion. Also, the mansion, in reality, is much smaller than the one in the movie. ? I know that had to compress a lot on the timeline as most movies do and creative license is also commonplace but they could've given correct dates when telling the story. Maybe she was just talking about Dupont's mental illness and the relationship between him and Mark.
skrudrvr DuPont never murdered Mark Shultz (Mark Shultz is still living) and they skip 8 years in the movie but never tell u
Both of u were on the team and alive living at the dupont estate?
Howd the host get the timeline so mixed up? Lol, 1988? Just 8 years off…
Not 4 Nothing,I Also Got 2 Check Out The Movie & The Documentary!!! Specially When Du Pont Says 2 Rewind The Film Footage About Looking Closely At Something Moving In The Forest,"That's My Word 2 God He Wasn't Bugging Out!!! I Also Caught Some Type Of White Or Clear Shadow Movement. I Had 2 Look Not Only Once But A Couple Of Times 2 See It"!!??..."Please Somebody Look At The Documentary Prove Me Wrong For The Love Of God"...???!!!
