- Wow… this is the shortest Vlog in ages, probably just as well… The rain simply DID NOT STOP and the threat to my gear was super high, then again it usually is regardless of the weather because I’m a klutz.
Still, this is ten minutes of the lad himself venturing out to a location that I have not photographed previously and haven’t even come across another Vlogger exploring the opportunities here. Let me tell you, Stanton Moor is wonderful. It’s easy to access, easy to walk and offers a variety of scenes for many different seasons, weather conditions (including rain) and environment types.
A great morning cut short by the interminable British weather. Gawd Bless it… - Навчання та стиль
Very nice 👍💧
Thanks 🔥
You know its not quite as unknown as you think. This year, First Man Photography, Verity Milligan and Mali Davis have all produced content from there. Made me smile. What you really need is a native guide for there or a sheep dog
I’d love a sheep dog. I have Padley the Goldador and she’s just a basket case.
I’ve be photographing Stanton Moor on a regular basis since 1976 when I was taken there on a field trip with landscape photographer Thomas Joshua Cooper. I haven’t yet explored all of it despite the small area involved and going back multiple times a year. There are so many beautiful little areas that nobody ever see’s around the fringes.
It’s great isn’t it! Lovey scenes all around.
Small world, I rocked up there after the rain stopped yesterday afternoon...pretty much the same greeting from those sheep too.
Keep away from our ladies!
How was your day there?
@@EddieSkelson cold and wet! Like you, not so much for the stones, but yeah that woodland 💥
We only scratched the surface in this location, held back by the rain and charging sheep. It will need a full day just to toothcomb the areas of woodland.
As soon as we get a balmy spring/summer morning we can really get into it.
That's another location added to my list. It looks like it has massive potential in the right conditions
I really enjoyed it, despite the downpour.
I envy you Brits with all these ancient ruins, circles, and such...love rainy days for shooting they can be so fun. 📷😎
We are very lucky to have these monuments across the land, and I think that the majority appreciate the significance of them, how the British culture has evolved from thousands of years of a melting pot of invasion, violence, brief periods of concord within, and continued antagonism with our neighbours. Most countries have interesting and evocative history but, biased as I am, I think the brooding, bloody atmosphere created by stories of the Picts, the Romans, the Saxons, the Angles, the Danes and the bloody French, weaves a fantastical narrative that, with copious speculation, fuels the imagination at these locations.
Also, rain sucks.
:)
@@EddieSkelson I definitely need to spend some time over there as the majority of my ancestors come from there, perhaps why I’m drawn to it for some reason.
You should come. God knows we need the money…
@@EddieSkelson Ha ha that’s the reason I haven’t yet, lol.
Hardcore photographer, not been to this location Eddie must check it out👍
Not so much as hardcore as desperate not to waste a day off work! Do visit!
Taking Photos in the Rain sucks....but despite this you got some real nice woodland shots! 👍
Cheers, it’s just worrying about the gear that cut the trip short.
It doesn't look like Corfu to me? Not that I've ever been!😆
I wish it had been Corfu… I could use some beach time :)

It was four yesterday so I err on the side of caution when these things get close :)
