Great video. Thank you for behaving like a real person and for not being super "clinical" and "all business" like some of the people who post how to's. As for the people who complain that you didn't show the wiring portion.... You have a harness.... Google a wiring schematic for your y/m/m.... sometimes less is more, people...
I own a 2007 GT, but I want a 03-04 2V as a daily, and would definitely do this.. Also I would swap the steering wheel of the new edge to a 05-09 steering wheel... Never was a fan of the out dated look of the stock 99-04 steering wheel.
or custom make yours into a double din by moving the air controls to the bottom make a little cut between stereo and air control and if you don't wanna buy the mounting kit fiberglass it in. i just bought a 35th anni with a single din and about to throw a double in a few days ill let you know how it goes!
I have a 99 (2 single dins which was 99-00) but I couldn't figure out what it looked like behind the dash(double dins came 01-04 models) to know what exactly I needed for complete oem conversion to fit the 01-04 double din or what it should look like to do the swap right or if I have to do possible custom work for my avic f900bt if needed to make happen. I wanted to put the avic in but also be able to put in the OEM radio should something happen to my double din without it being all chopped up. This is a great video so I could actually see what I really needed to do even though our dash is different. Awesome work and detail that you put into this this is, which is by far the best double din installation guide for these cars out there, thank you so much for that and links. I subscribed because of this keep up the good work! By the way does your unit have navigation?
I feel like if you would want to do a double din conversion it should work, but however as it is an older Mustang you will need some different radio harnesses to connect to your replacement head unit. My unit does not come with navigation however, the Sony variant with navigation would run you around $600, mine was ~$250. And thank you man, I greatly appreciate the support! I will continue with the Mustang videos, so keep a look out in the future!
Unfortunately you will need a different harness for your year of Mustang, but if you do a double din conversion it should work once you have the correct parts needed.

I am not sure if this will work since the 99 & 2000 Mustang are single din. The Radio and CD player are separate.
True, I have a 99 mustang GT and a double din will not fit....

They are not pricey , you can pick one up for around $20
@wannabchomsky i see them for 60 on ebay
Also you could just use a single din stereo with a pop out touch screen
That intro had me dead 💀😂😂
