I had the exact same problem with my sensors breaking off IN THE EXACT SAME WAY on my car! Glad to know it's a common thing😂 I got the extra plastic out the same way too😂
Very informative video.
Does it make any difference if an ABS sensor wired oppositely? My cars abs sensors were chopped at some point. no new part is available in my country , i found sensors but with quite long original wires but the grips at the end were chopped. now i am unable to find which wired will go at which point of female grip. color code of the wires are different as of the repair manual. (Car is 1989 Cressida)
So this is only done on one side? My struts were redone and this happened so now I don’t have abs and would like to fix
When jacking up the Camry, can you place the jack anywhere along the pinch weld or does it have to be where the cutouts are?
Anywhere there is metal. You can place it just in front of the cutouts. I bought some rubber packs for the jack in order not to squash the metal.
Do you know the size of the bolt in most Toyotas wheel speed sensors? I have a 2000 Lexus RX300 with a broken off head and need to know what tap to run down hole? Is it a M8 X 1.25?
+Sir Sweetness We currently do not have that information at our disposal. Your local dealer should be able to get a new bolt for you. Hope this helps you out.
Did you find this out? To me it looks like M6 x 1.00 Is that correct?
This car is not a 92-96 Camry. It's the 97-01 model.
Are you using a dielectric grease or an anti-sieze grease like you would use for brakes during the installation of the sensor?
Looks like white lithium grease to me.
white lithium seems to be a common grease for plastic on metal
Gotta wonder, for your rear hub assembly video replacement, you removed all the hardware for the rear brakes...but in removal of this hub assembly, all you did was remove the bolts.
Does the speed sensors on the wheels affect the transmission any will it cause it not to take gear r is it only the one that's down in the transmission
+Robin Phillips We aren't able to diagnose issues like this, but we would suggest you bring the vehicle to a shop to be properly diagnosed. Thanks! 1AAuto.com
Me gustaría que publicaran un video de cómo reemplazar el sensor ABS trasero de una Toyota Highlander 2012. Gracias
As soon as you removed the seat I know I’m a just pull the fuse lol
Just did my rear struts, ABS cables got stretched and sensor probably damaged. ABS is solid on now. Ordered sensors. Fun times. Price wise, a lot more reasonable than Toyota.
Do you have a similar video for the 05-11?
+Randy Randall This procedure might be different for your application. We do not currently have a how-to video for this particular year, make and model. Thank you for asking! 1AAuto.com
Rear speed sensor for camry 2013
Hey, would this installation be practically the same on a 98 Camry? I'm assuming they are very similar.
+Samuel Loshark It may be a different procedure on your application. We currently do not have an auto repair video for this particular year, make and model. Thank you for asking. 1aauto.com
It's a 1998 Camry in the video.
The car in this video IS a 97-01 Camry. I think it's labelled wrong.
We currently do not have an auto repair video specific to your vehicle. You might be able to apply some of the basic steps shown in this video to your application. +Samuel Loshark
