Thank you for showing the real amount of hair loss that is curly girls experience. Not many curly people show it!!!! I have fine shoulder length curly hair and my hair loss between washes can be insane sometimes. Might have to add an oil pre poo to my wash routine and see how that goes.
Ngl it looks a lot nicer and neater than straight/wavy hair "balls" lol. Her hairball was actually a cute little ball, mine is a scraggly nest of hair.
I have fine curly hair as well (also thin) and I’ve learned that I need to clarify more often and be soooooooooooooooo gentle when I shampoo, to reduce how much I lose.
I lose more hair then that an I got shoulder length straight hair . I’m convinced I’m going bald 😂
Get your thyroid checked too
don’t worry it’s because you don’t brush your hair as often during the period of not washing
Oh my gosh it’s not just me!! Thank God cause I swear I have a bald spot somewhere every time I brush my hair 🥴
This!!
Did it really worry you? I've lost masses of hair every shower my whole life. But I still have thick hair. So I figured if this has always happened & I still have thick hair, it must be fine and normal for me. I think you only have to worry if the quantity changes/drastically increases.
@@CT1010101 it did worry me for a little while cause at one point I was losing quite a bit of hair. My hair is fine but really curly and it has gotten thinner over the years. I don’t lose as much as I use to, thankfully
@@jjrrod93 Oh that totally makes sense if your hair is thin or fine that it would be really stressful.
We lose an aprox of 100 hair strands every day. It’s completely normal
FIRST TIME I see someone realistically show their hair fall. My hair falls SO MUCH yet I never see vloggers talk about it!
Honestly the hair balls are soooo relatable! Thank you for actually showing them and letting us girlies know the real deal💪✨🙏
Idk why I always enjoy comparing your hair balls to mine because I always freak out. My hair is so long and curly, so my ball is bigger than yours, but your cheery attitude keeps my hair fall stress at bay. An emotional support if you will! 🙏🏽
dw too much it's completely normal to shed a lot I have long curly hair too and it's the same for me
Saaaame. I have enough hair come out for basically a wig 😅 but I have thick hair too
Okay I just found this channel and do others hate their hair ball?! I legit throw away hair ties bc I can’t look at it…
Oh! I always worried about how much hair I was losing and if it was right to use oil like that, but seeing you use it makes me feel better!
Thank you for explaining why I never get all of the loose hair out before I shower. It makes so much sense that I’m surprised that I didn’t figure it out myself.
@ManesbyMell If you mist your hair with a mister first waiting 30 secondsfor it to absorb, then using oil (I use grapeseed oil) to detangle and soften. Coming from a curly afro chick, it really helps. Nice tips, Sis!
Yes to grapeseed oil for any hair or skin care.
Agreed!!
So, how do you dress your hair before sleeping?
@@nancy-katharynmcgraw2669 Either pineapple, loose twists or just 2 not too tight cornrows.. with bonnet or satin pillowcase. Don't recommend both bonnet and satin pillowcase, woke up with my head half slid off the bed! 🎶 My neck, my back! 🎶 🤣🤣🤣
@@spoileddiva80thank you!
I’m never going back to not doing a pre-poo! It makes the hair sooo much softer and manageable for almost the entire post wash period. Add a frizz serum, maybe a little ACV to clarify once in awhile, you’re golden ✨
I’ve seen your videos and tuned in for alittle but I wasn’t ready to take care of my curls because they just don’t go with my face but now I’m all about your content and I love it and your positive funny vibes. I recently purchased the VERB foam, oil and curl cream and can’t wait to begin shaping my curls and embracing them.
Yes showing hair balls is helpful 🙂
I love your dark hair!
thank you for showing the hair balls 😆💖 my hair gets knotted very easily, so i find detangling with a steamer + oil to be A GAME CHANGER for my fine hair!
What do you mean steamer? How does that work? Id love to know!
@@blockpart2184 Mell shows this in 1 of her videos, she has a hair steamer that lets off steam that refreshes hair days after wash. Personally Imma try the face steamer cuz ur girl is broke af lol
I feel a little better after seeing how much hair comes out of your head. Mine on a third-day wash is sometimes alarming.
Ok, so we all thought we were going bald after hair washing 😂
9 days without washing so u saying thats day 10 hair... whatttt.... winter routine update pronto!!! please and thank youuu💜💜💜💜💜
I usually use conditioner right before I shampoo. Then proceed with shampooing my hair without washing off the conditioner. I should try this method out
(POV: you have pin straight hair, but you wanna see how the beautiful curlies do their hair bc ur curious lol)
Same lol. I'm wavy but I wish I was curly!
I bet your hair is beautiful! ❤️😊
and also being like that's it?! about how much hair she lost lol
Be grateful, it is a frustrating process to care for curls 😂 I straightened my hair for 20 years since I was a kid. We all want what we don’t have 😂
Reminds me of the 10 million black haircare videos I've seen over the years but I've never seen a non-black person do the same routine. 👍🏾
Anything we do others follow 😳
Well, it has nothing to do with race, but everything to with hair type. Curly haired people in general have a routine that connects them together.
@@lf1496 🙄
Definitely helpful!! Especially the hairballs! I was afraid it was just me!! 😊
Wow...appreciate you showing the hair fall. I too get scared thinking is this normal. 😯
I have thick long curly hair so this tip is amazing!
same
My hair is halfway past my butt so my ball is larger than yours but I still feel like I lose way more than I should 😅
I feel this! Idk how i am not bald by now. Also no clue how the vacuum still works.
You’re too cute! And yes, this was very helpful. As always!
This was extremely helpful. I am always worried about the amount of hair I lose every time I detangle prior to washing and afterwards. My hair is very thin, high porosity, no too long but it does sit below my shoulders...For the past few months I seriously thought I was going bald. Thanks for sharing!
It’s helpful… and made me feel better about my hair ball
You can use olive oil also.. it penetrates further into hair shaft as well
Can you go over other ways to manage hair balls?? Like not just in my comb but in the shower and the drain and the floor of the bathroom and this one spot to the right of my couch??? Please tell me you have magic hair tumbleweed management knowledge also
Cutie and goofy = diamond
Aldi's got...
organic, cold press, virgin, coconut oil....
for a very reasonable price.
Also, a great face moisturizer after shower.
I hate shampooing my hair anymore because of the amount of hair that gets everywhere!
I like those wet brushes, you can use them while in the shower. I brush when I put conditioner in my hair. Then after washing an conditioning I use oil in my hair.
Thank you for showing the hair loss!!! I always panicked after taking out clumps from a whole week without washing
thank you for showing how much hair can fall naturally 😭. I've grown out my hair after having it super short for years and my mom has made me so paranoid about hair thinning ever since like middle school so even though my hair didn't really look like it was thinning the amount that would come out on wash days was kinda hard not to stress about
My extremely mixed combination thinness and thickness and desnity on my head, with high porosity damaged hair, hairfall was significantly less after this one step. It's amazing how much I've learned here!
I just did this. I’m just finally learning how to take care of my hair. I feel validated that I did the right thing. Thank you.
Thank you!!! My daughter has really curly hair, and now that she's 5, it's starting to get thick. We usually wash it maybe twice a week (cause she plays hard), but it does get so tangly! This helps a lot.
Since embracing you and the CGM routine/helpful products, my hair is so different (in a good way). Now I tested positive for Covid, so I’m losing hair again, but I had stopped losing as much and will get there again. Plus it doesn’t get as tangled and looks so healthy.
very helpful, i started recently to oil my hair like this, and its the best treatment i´ve ever did 😀
Thanks for this. Question....do you need to clarify after this? Or can you just use your normal shampoo? 🤔
Thanks for showing the hairballs. It’s a relief knowing that it’s normal!
What scalp oil did you use?
Thanks for showing how much hair you lose. I thought my hair loss was abnormal. But it’s not!
You are so pretty
You have gorgeous hair. I have silky hair so i appreciate yours.
I do the same but I mix avocado, castor oil with a few drops of rosemary essential oil. Helps with damaged hair and promotes growth. Massage my scalp, leave on for 30 minutes and wash with my shampoo and conditioner.
Thank you for showing the hair ball before AND after shower. I was stressing out so much because of shedding but you reached me how normal normal “loss” is. Especially after a week without washing 🤍🤍
Yay! I'm not alone! Lol... I thought it was just me who lost all that hair. Thanks for the advice on pre-poo oiling! I've been wanting to try doing it to my scalp, but never knew about doing it to my ends to finger comb pre-poo! Thx Mel! VERY helpful madam!! ♡♡♡
This is exactly what I did last night! Glad to know I’m doing *something* right with my hair! 😅
for my 3c texture, i do a detangling day with water and conditioner and i remove the shed hair before my wash day the following day. i will def try the coconut oil method
I tried this last week(more so to use up the oil I bought and rarely ended up using for sealing) and it made such a difference in detangling
For wash day I always slug my hair in argin oil before bed then put on a head wrap so it doesn’t get all over my pillow, then the next morning is wash time and it helps my hair get super soft and shiny
I really love your natural curly hair & it suits you you look gorgeous so pretty 😍
Awesome...I have to wash my curly hair every day..very active, and it's hot out here in California
I lose about twice that but my hair is also waist length so it probably looks like a lot more than it is
She's so beautiful
@manesbymel you really need to try traditional indian hot oil champi before you waha your hair! ✨✨
The shade moisture shampoo the Manuka Honey one is amazing! Also there's an oil called wild grow or grow wild. They have a yellow bottle that you can actually add to your shampoo that makes it wonderful! And then there's a white bottle that you apply to the scalp and ends or I apply it to all of my hair because I have very dry hair. But honestly try the shea moisture with the manuka honey it makes my hair so soft that it feels like I don't even need conditioner but I still use it along with the leave-in. Hope you try it and love it as much as I do.!
Yeah makes me feel better about the 2 hairs that normally fall out of my head that I have hysterics about! lol
Your hair is perfect!
Thanks, I'll give it a try. My hair takes ages to detangle in the shower.
I'm so proud of her 💖 Look at the Caucasian girlies doing right by their curls, beautiful 💖
Thanks for thee extra info. I use coconut oil but have not done the stimulation. What do you use for Shampoo and conditioner?
I wish I had found your UA-cam Sooner! I wish you were on the West Coast in the USA.
Much Love! 💜💜💜💜
Mell can you do a video on post partum hair loss for wavy curly hair...my hair keeps falling out
Just as a note, this amount of hair fall is completely normal. It just looks dramatic because we have to get it unstuck and take it out while washing, while our straight-haired sisters lose hairs wherever they go during the day. The body is a self-renewing, self-healing machine, and this is all a part of healthy maintenance.
If your hair fall is a lot more than normal for you, do go to the doctor if you can, as it may be due to a hormonal or autoimmune issue.
This is so informative to me I have a lot of hair not as much as you do so I know that it is normal for curly hair to know that I don't have a serious problem and can stop taking medicines from the dermatologist which is causing other problems I will just deal with what I have Thank you.
Definitely trying the oil! Since moving to California my scalp has been so dry.
Is that pure rosemary oil or did you mix it?
Helpful lol my boyfriend thinks I’m going bald with the amount of lose hair that comes out when I detangle
whenever my hair gets super tangled, i condition and detangle, then shampoo, then condition again. i use a conditioner with a lot of slip first, and sometimes add a little almond or grape seed oil. if i shampoo first and then condition and detangle, the knots are worse and my hair is weighed down from all the excess conditioner at the roots.
Love your natural beauty.
Yeah, I see a ton of hair every wash day it used to freak out my hubby since I have long, thick, coarse hair and his short, thin hair is also baby fine.
Thats great to know its normal to have balls of hair falling b4 and after showering. Thanks
I think it’s so funny she plays with the hair balls😂 cuz let’s be honest, we alllll do it too 🤣
I loved that first face
You always bring a smile on my face. Stay so funny please
Whaaaat!! Thank you for this!!!! 😍🔥👏🏽 This is going to be a game changer for me!! ❤
My hair really loves coconut oil, coconut oil shampoo and conditioner and I went online to do research and it’s confusing. Some sites say it’s bad to use all the time, others say it’s not for everyone’s hair but some peoples hair loves it and others say it’s amazing and fixed everything. Either way no other products work, they dry out my 2c/3a curls
Love this! Will definitely try!
Thanku for showing how much u shed!
I'm a man in my 60s and my hair is identical to this. Except it's white silver and no longer that long. My hairballs are the same. You won't go bald though. After all I haven't. It's normal to lose up to 100 strands a day.
I like almond oil too❤
My hair does the same thing. I don't oil my hair before washing but I do use a brush to get all the tangles out before washing. I use conditioner in the shower and leave in conditioner after, plus a curly hair serum and anti frizz spray. Without it... I look like I stuck my finger in a light socket.
Your hair is so beautiful 🥰❤️
Very very very helpful, thank you for sharing
Your hair is gorgeous
Thank you for showing your hair balls!!!! I always wonder if I'm losing too much and it scares the shit outta me sometimes lol I'm really loving your darker hair btw! 😍
So helpful, thank you 🫶🏼
SO HELPFUL!! Tysm!!
You have the best hair ever!
This is what I do! Nice to know that its not just me
I wash my hair like every 3-4 days and I have about the first ball of hair and I brush my hair throughout that time. I have wavy hair. Should I be concerned??
You should not be concerned unless this is a recent development you’ve been noticing, then it’s worth investigating! But remember if your hair is very long, you have a higher density of it and/or it’s coarser, your “ball” is going to look bigger. ❤️
She’s like me! I love her 💗!!!
I need to do this for my youngest daughter
Yes! Thank you 😊
Helpful!
Very helpful Mel
I get sooo much more of a hairball 😬 thanks, this is super useful.
I love your gorgeous curls
