The grave he visits at the end is Eazy-E’s. He was in N.W.A. with Dre and they had some issues and fell out. Eazy died from complications due to AIDS. This is Dre making his peace with that.
@@ReactionTherapyOfficial amazing review to one of my fav videos. Him and Eazy we're making amends before he passed, and Eazy E gave him HIS start as he funded the studio time and Dre became the producer and wrote his raps for even him though, but Eazy ended up owning the label, until they left when the devil came knocking (Suge Knight) so he was going to HIS mentors grave and remembering his origin aswell (same as Eminem) I did noticed the video didn't feature amy pics of his son, who died maybe 15yrs ago from an OD, he was a teenager. Andre Jr... Maybe it was just too personal. Also, I think that Eminem actually recorded this and sent it to Dr Dre being he even said "Your Gonna either wanna fight when I get off this mic/ or your gonna hug me, but I'm out of options/ etc "I need a doctor" This was due to the fact that Dre kept second guessing himself after his "Chronic 2001" album and spent about 15 years delaying his upcoming album. He started as a producer though but he always had a track record of letting artists go after 1 album (besides Eminem) so that no one would ever have an album flop under him, and never did apparently. Dre always wants to go out on top, either with artists (prior to Eminem) or with himself. Oddly enough, he's put out his long awaited album (and maybe another) in the past 5yrs and it just wasn't appreciated as he expected, new generation where albums are a dime a dozen without even having to buy them so Soooooo much work can go into an album and someone just burn it and not buy it, or trash it without even listening. One came out with the release of his /NWA's biopic "Straight Out of Compton" (if you've never watched it, it's a great movie) that came in around 2017/2018. Just some extra insight as this video was SUPER symbolic and layered. On a final note, the 3rd verse is him directly responding to Eminem's 2nd verse, but I used to think that Eminem wrote it due to the rhyme scheme but due to Dre slipping up on 1 fast part, starting to think he didn't have a set style at the time so he just mirrored Eminem's tempo but definitely had an Eminem vibe to it, but with Dre's stamp. Again, great review which made watching this video again for the first time in years even better!
It wasn’t “really” gang violence shown, that was Dre’s first group N.W.A. Some of their performances and videos..they definitely did see A LOT of that in real life growing up in Compton. The crash wasn’t real. According to Dre it was symbolic of feeling like his life was a wreck, the rehab representative of him working through his issues and coming out the other side.
@Reaction Therapy, when you look at the Single Cover you can see one of your hypotheses verified. It Shows a sign like those in Hospitals showing you where to go. Eminem turned his depression into resentment and it made him famous. I related to Eminem's earlier stuff from having a bad childhood. He said the things I wish I could say and related heavily to it. I think I would've killed myself at a young age if it wasn't for his music. He literally saved my life. Thanks Dre
@Alistair102040 Tom is a cringe conservative rapper who just made an entire album complaining about wokeness. Don't think Eminem likes him or wants to even acknowledge Tom's existence. In that song he says he's just like Eminem when Eminem was young, but he's nothing like him. Eminem has always been liberal and was rapping about real world problems. Tom isn't even giving much of a tribute to Eminem, he just keeps talking about himself and basically says he's the new Eminem, which he's not. Tom is a narcissist and he's delusional if he thinks he's anything like Eminem. The only reason he was able to get Em's beat is because he bought it at an auction. The beat isn't even that good and Tom still somehow managed to butcher it.
*Eric Wright* isn’t Dre’s son It’s one of his former NWA group member who went by *Eazy-E* He passed away due to HIV/AIDS, and Dre’s son, *Andre Young Jr,* passed due to drug overdose
SOOOOOO glad re-reacted to the actual video instead of a lyrical video!👏 It also shows the loyalty and respect that Dre & Em have for each other. Superb video!🐐🐐
This is one of my favorite songs. You can truly feel Eminem pouring his heart out. I've seen an interview with Skylar who said Eminem wrote his verses is about ten minutes, just letting it pour out.
Shortly after this, Dre made an appearance at some music award show (forget which). He walked out on stage all bulked up like in the video as a changed man and received a standing ovation from the crowd. He hadn't been seen out in public for a long time before that. Unfortunately at the end of last year, Dre and his wife ended a long time marriage with a massive divorce settlement.
The thing is, Em is fiercely loyal. To a damn fault. But he's only that way to a select few aside from his 3 daughters. Em was never going to leave Dre's side, especially knowing what he was going through. Everyone else legitimately left Dre when he was going through it, but Em showed up every day for him, literally so. Their friendship is a deep bond, and there's 3 of them: Em, Dre, and 50Cent.
Eminem is a true artist. You can't just listen to one of his songs and make a judgement on who he is. You have to listen to everything he ever wrote. You will never hear a better lyricist or someone who throws out their feelings begging for help like he does.
I couldn't agree more. He puts it all out there, the good and the bad. I think it's his way of working through his feelings and he does it almost better than anyone. No one can ever say he doesn't lay his soul bare. We all have those moments of rage and frustration. This is his way of dealing. He gets so much shit for the things he says but he isn't acting on those feelings or repressing them. He's had his moments of completely screwing up but he owns it and tried to do better.
Skylar Grey has so many interesting songs. She's the writer for a ton of the instrumental/vocals of hip-hop/rap that gets labeled as Pop because it gets huge playback and became hits. She's got these interesting twists of songs like "Wear Me Out", "Back From the Dead" and more.
He was distressed because his son passed away just before this was made like I said that's why he was reminiscing about Tupac who he also had a small incident with and eazy e etc he was realizing that life is too short to hold onto stuff. The crash was holding onto all of those things especially when you put Eminem lyrics in context was how it affected his life mentally and emotionally and physically he went into a very very dark place and hiding for a while before this track was made. This track imo helped Dre get the peace from losing his son and his friends like Tupac and eazy e etc
Hope you get to unlock more of Dre’s history..from The D.O.C., Jimmy Z, Eazy E, World Class Wrecking Crew…been a Dre fan since 1987 when NWA started. Dude has been through so much. So glad he gave Marshall a look…he has been loyal with him since he signed him up. Glad you finally watched the video!

I was just having a conversation about energy in music. Like how I find a lot of rappers who people say are great boring. This is a perfect example of an artist putting energy into music. You could feel the passion
Ik you mainly do reactions to music but they have a short interview on UA-cam where Dre and em talk about how they first met and basically everything the talk about in this song but in more depth. It’s an amazing interview! Maybe watch it if you get the chance!
Still love this song. I actually went into rehab rt when it first came out. I can remember like it was yesterday. So happy I found and subscribe to this channel. I have a lot of catching up to do now😎
I love the music video idea that Dre, Eminem and company had, the nostalgia etc.. Awesome reaction and analysis from you, however am more curious about the program you used to create this vid? or did you record two separate videos them merged them for the final thing?
Best reaction to this eminem song, out of all of em, idgaf. This was so good. You spoke to me on every pause, I really feel like you have a wider perspective of the entire song EVEN on your first listen, it's really impressive, and truly part of youtube content you could call timeless.
Great reaction man there is so much backstory to discuss LOL I'm not even going to go there cuz it would take me all day. But you did a great job breaking this down
Dr. Dre lost his son when his son was 20 years old from a heroin/morphine overdose. His mother found him dead at his home.. in jan 2009. We need to advocate for addiction! Last year in my state we lost 80 ppl to covid and 130 ppl to overdose and drugs. When will we address every epidemic! There is help! I am 8 years clean from heroin. After a 12 year addiction. I lived, let's help others live too.
Dr Dre's kid died August 23, 2008, he's name was Andre and died at the age of 20 from an overdose of heroin and morphine And if follow the legacy of Dre n Em well on December 25th 2007 eminem had a near-fatal prescription pill overdose in 2007 So that timeline for Dre was ruff and Em looks up to as a father figure and they show a old music video of em n dre filming where em was dressed as Robin and Dre was Batman even because no matter what Marshall considered himself as a Robin compared to Dre but also that song haha eminem wrote Dre's verse and told him how to say it.. you can tell when Em writes a verse for dre but the purpose of the song was like this one by paying homage to he's father figure and ideal
im not sure if anyone explained it earlier as it has been nearly 2 months since this reaction was released but im 99% certain he wasnt never in a carcrash or injured to that degree. it was more of a dramatic retelling of various difficult things going on in his life. His son had died somewhat recent to the release or creating of that video and the grave stone at the end was of his friend Eric Wright, aka easy-e, his fellow NWA member.
That burial tombstone at the end, is not his son, but Eric Wright; professionally known as, "Eazy-E". He was a part of the hip hop group that Dr. Dre was a part of in the 80's, called, "N.W.A." (Ice Cube was also a part of the group. The group is widely considered as one of the greatest and most influential groups in the history of hip hop music. ). Eazy-E died from AIDS-induced pneumonia, one month after his diagnosis. Dr. Dre's son, Andre Young Jr., passed away on August 23, 2008, at 20 years old. His death was ruled an accident due to morphine and heroin intoxication. (The rappers that you saw in the beginning were: Eazy-E, 2Pac, The D.O.C, Snoop Dogg, Warren G, Eminem, Xzibit, and then all the rest of the members from N.W.A.).
I love this video and song, it is so vitally important! But I also never knew just how incredibly STACKED Dre is!!! He has built such an awesome body for himself!!
I don't know if it was said in the previous comments. But basically this song is about Dr Dre, once his album "the chronic" came out he was at the top of the world. He was already widly known as an amazing producer , but that album was just a master piece. Afterwards he made albums for every big name but he kind of always said he would do other solo ones. Fastfoward about 10-15 years we start earing rumours about "Detox" which would of been is 2nd full album. Problem is , this one never made it past production. This is why eminem's verse are basically calling him out to get it out. Dre did not think his album was good enough, he's a perfectionnist and that really played a big part. This is why you can hear eminem say things like : Can't make a decision, you keep questionin' yourself Second guessin' and it's almost like you're beggin' for my help Like I'm your leader, you're supposed to fuckin' be my mentor I can endure no more, I demand you remember who you are Eminem felt like he needed to bring Dre out of his depression and struggles , like he needed to "bring him back to life". It never was a big fight between them it was more like eminem was getting frustrated and at the same time really worried about one of the only person he ever looked up to never actually getting out of his inner demons and struggles. Hope it helps with the context
When Dre is gone this song going to be super hard to listen to. Just like the video for toy soldiers where it shows proof being shot and then he gets shot in real life and dies.
You should really watch the Defiant Ones. It’s on Peacock now, it was on HBO originally, it’s about Dr Dre, and Jimmy Iovine. Two of the greatest music producers of all time.
As i know, he lost a son because of a drug overdose.... But the grave at the end is the Rapper Eazy-E, he was a good friend of dr dre and died because of hiv. Before he died they had some fights...sry for my bad english
I'm not really sure... but i think the song was based on the recovery of Dr Dre when he was diagnosed with a brain disease or something like that... and everyone who he believed would help him bailed on him except Eminem... hence the song saying i need a doctor..., my perception took me straight to Role switching. Eminem is now Dr Dre's Doctor just as Dre was a Doctor to eminem when eminem needed help... beautiful song... can't get enough of it
I know I’m late to this party but Em has a bar that goes, “…they don’t know what dope is & I don’t know if I was awake or asleep when I wrote this…” . I always took this as a double entendre. The obvious being that people thought Em’s stuff was trash & he didn’t believe that & he was exhausted so he doesn’t remember if he was asleep or awake writing. The second though is that at the time Em was battling addiction & so people don’t understand the struggle that “dope” causes & how drugs may make people not be able to tell the difference between being asleep/awake. *Just my take on it though.
The grave he visits at the end is Eazy-E’s. He was in N.W.A. with Dre and they had some issues and fell out. Eazy died from complications due to AIDS. This is Dre making his peace with that.

Really cool hannah! Thanks so much! Do you know where these episodes are streaming? And it looks really cool to learn more, 😊👍
I don't think you realized at the beginning right before the crash you can slightly hear in the background good night daddy, (it gives me chillsssss)
😳😳😳
I was just having a conversation about energy in music. Like how I find a lot of rappers who people say are great boring. This is a perfect example of an artist putting energy into music. You could feel the passion
I don’t know who can listen to this and not get emotional. My favorite song. Thank you’
And thanks eminem for showing us what being loyal and being a true friend means 🙏
even though this song is called i need a doctor! this song was a dedication to them both
I strongly recommend watching "The Defiant Ones "
I love how invested you got in this video
Thanks for going back! 🤘😎🤘
It's not his son. It's eazy e. You need to check him out. He's equally as important.
Man, this video makes me cry every single time.
Same. I can’t get through this song with dry eyes 😅
Yay! I’m so glad you released this one!!!!! Thank you!!!!
Ik you mainly do reactions to music but they have a short interview on UA-cam where Dre and em talk about how they first met and basically everything the talk about in this song but in more depth. It’s an amazing interview! Maybe watch it if you get the chance!
You missed when he's son says "night daddy" when he crashes.. I really enjoyed this reaction.. Keep up the good work
I’ve been waiting so long
First time listening to your reaction and I'm impressed. You were on paint as to what was truly going on. Loved it and keep up the good work.
I've watched this music video many times but the way he explains it makes me cry I've never cried to this song
Lokk at the date on the gravestone,,,1964,,not his son,,it's Easy E ,,,from N.W.A
"Dre I'm crying in this Boothe!" Funny cause I'm crying watching this
If you haven't already, Changes by Tupac is legendary
Still love this song. I actually went into rehab rt when it first came out. I can remember like it was yesterday. So happy I found and subscribe to this channel. I have a lot of catching up to do now😎
Thank you for doing this. I never sent a comment in, but I was thinking this during the 1st reaction.
But you did a great job breaking this down
Thank you Heather!😊👍
@@ReactionTherapyOfficial ❤️😘
Omg seeing you get so into hip hop is everything!
Eric Wright is Eazy E who was part of Dre’s group NWA
Brilliant reaction. Subscribed
Thanks so much Chris!😊👍
The crash is a metaphor for when his life stopped when Dre's son was murdered.
Dre is to jimmy what Em is to Dre what 50 is to Em just pure respect and loyalty till the end no matter what happens
My two favorite rap is NF and Eminem my two favorite rap
Dr Dre's kid died August 23, 2008, he's name was Andre and died at the age of 20 from an overdose of heroin and morphine
And if follow the legacy of Dre n Em well on December 25th 2007 eminem had a near-fatal prescription pill overdose in 2007
So that timeline for Dre was ruff and Em looks up to as a father figure and they show a old music video of em n dre filming where em was dressed as Robin and Dre was Batman even because no matter what Marshall considered himself as a Robin compared to Dre but also that song haha eminem wrote Dre's verse and told him how to say it.. you can tell when Em writes a verse for dre but the purpose of the song was like this one by paying homage to he's father figure and ideal
Very nice take Nate! Thanks so much!😊👍
So happy to see you growing as a chanel love your reactions
im not sure if anyone explained it earlier as it has been nearly 2 months since this reaction was released but im 99% certain he wasnt never in a carcrash or injured to that degree. it was more of a dramatic retelling of various difficult things going on in his life.
Please do (Eminem- I'm not afraid )
Absolutely one of the best hits 👌🏻
Don't know if you heard the "Goodnight Daddy" just as the car began to flip.
you are the best reaction channel I have ever seen sir. keep up the great work!
Thank you so much!😊👍
My god this might be the best reaction video i have ever seen go ahead man
Greatest Therepisdt of UA-cam. 1 Million Subscribers soon....
Thank you so much Carson!😊👍
This is why you can hear eminem say things like :
Can't make a decision, you keep questionin' yourself
Second guessin' and it's almost like you're beggin' for my help
Like I'm your leader, you're supposed to fuckin' be my mentor
I can endure no more, I demand you remember who you are
Eminem felt like he needed to bring Dre out of his depression and struggles , like he needed to "bring him back to life". It never was a big fight between them it was more like eminem was getting frustrated and at the same time really worried about one of the only person he ever looked up to never actually getting out of his inner demons and struggles.
Hope it helps with the context
golden age of MVs
Eminem wrote this entire song basically so Em could give flowers to his mentor while he is still alive
I like that
I think it’s most accurate to view the entire music video as a one huge beautiful metaphor, not literal.
And then Aftermath dominated the Super bowl this year 🙌🤙🏽
When Dre is gone this song going to be super hard to listen to. Just like the video for toy soldiers where it shows proof being shot and then he gets shot in real life and dies.
Another awesome reaction! Can’t wait for the next one.
It's a love song between two besties
You should really watch the Defiant Ones. It’s on Peacock now, it was on HBO originally, it’s about Dr Dre, and Jimmy Iovine. Two of the greatest music producers of all time.
Sometimes even the best doctors need a doctors help.
Straight outta Compton is an amazing movie also showing Eric wrights life
Head stone is EAZY-E.... THE MAN THATS STARTED IT ALL FOR DRE
"D-R-E was my gps, without him I don't know where I'd be"
Eminem
his Ferrari wrecking was a throw back to when he ran from the police in his white ferrari
Love you and your content
Thank you Kieran!😊
As i know, he lost a son because of a drug overdose....
But the grave at the end is the Rapper Eazy-E, he was a good friend of dr dre and died because of hiv. Before he died they had some fights...sry for my bad english
I'm not really sure... but i think the song was based on the recovery of Dr Dre when he was diagnosed with a brain disease or something like that... and everyone who he believed would help him bailed on him except Eminem... hence the song saying i need a doctor..., my perception took me straight to Role switching. Eminem is now Dr Dre's Doctor just as Dre was a Doctor to eminem when eminem needed help... beautiful song... can't get enough of it
Man eazy-e, the nwa... This goes way way back LOL
Great reaction ❤️🙏✌️
