What type of boots are those?
After seeing this, is there a bed roll that is also hollow so you could throw things into it instead of just the head rest, making a make shift mattress to lay on instead of ontop of?
Also, would there be a wider but just as long "tarp" if you wanted more of an " A Frame" configuration?
It looks cool as is but, where I don't know what I don't know, I figured I'd ask an expert whose more familiar with these things.
Is that the one you waxed in a previous video . I remember you doing that
I am late again. But better late than never right? Be safe Sir
Bacon !!!! Making a comeback.
Where did it go
Cracked up 😂
You've noticed that too! I see a lot of channels with outdoor folks who claim a lot of bushcraft and outdoors old school camping and all their gear is brand new and unused, especially their cooking gear, no heat or burn/smut marks etc. I hear ya. Really enjoy your channel. Thanks and Cheers!
Yea fr
I do cook outdoors, and post videos up... Man my pots, pans and mugs are black as hell 🤣
Mine too! most of my stuff it either torn, ripped, soiled discolored etc.
@@ARAW-__-
Now I feel shitty. I've replaced my old leftover pans with new proper backpacking gear. No videos for me lol.
This is a pretty cool video. Did you fasten the snaps at the ground side? I guess here in Alberta I'd have to use pine boughs. Would I still use 4 to 6 inches? Thanks for doing these videos.
Corporal, you really should publish a camping cookbook.
Cowboy Camp with a Six Shooter Classic AF Corp!!🇺🇸💪🇺🇸💯
no idea what you are talking about
“I once scored 4 touchdowns in a single game!” Al Bundy 🤣🤣🤣
Carnivore breakfast! That's what I call a great start to the day.
I Always recommend your show. The simplest and most common sense viewing for the outdoor person.
Thanks again and yes, the Bacon, ahh the bacon.
Great Al Bundy reference. Mmmmmm on that bacon wrapped kielbasa. Great stuff as always CC.
Hello from Oklahoma! The old river rat here. Good Video! Enjoyed this camp configuration. I guess it's because I do something similar in a "C" shape with my tarp. It is important to have a good layer under your body. Also enjoyed the talk about carrying your gear to stay in shape. Being 64 it's a constant battle to stay in shape. I walk my dogs a mile or two every day wearing a pack that weighs approx. 40 lbs. Some have to make their comments but that's their problem. People are funny that way. Thanks for All You Do Young Man! God Bless!
I very much appreciate how you keep it real. I think I like your cold weather, snowy videos the best.
I watch you because most of the others when making kindling for a fire will end up in the emergency room. Your technique is the best. Thanks.
Another HANDS ON VIDEO, Good Job. Can you put thermometers at 1-2 ft increments from the fire to the bed roll to show he temperature?? A while back in SF my rut was 120 lbs and I was 25. Now I'm 70 and struggle to put on a 80 lbs rut, my bowflex, rower, and tread mill are covered with supplies ...... time to clear them off and get back into shape ....... thanks Shawn.
Nice! Cowboy canvas and sidearm! Love the bacon wrap! Great video!
I can't believe you set up a "field expedient" Fry Daddy and carried in a whole bottle of cooking oil to cook 4 peices of bacon and a kielbasa. 😂 looked good though!
Thank you sir for another wonderful Sunday installment
If you peel the bark off those logs, it WILL act as a reflector. Light colors reflect heat, dark absorbs.
Have you done this? I ask because I know that is true for clothing and painted surfaces but I never heard that about logs.
It WILL not act as a reflector that will elevate the temperature that reaches you. You are literally ignoring physics. The main law of physics you're ignoring is the inverse square law. You're literally suggesting that the temperature of the reflected heat will somehow be elevated beyond that which the fire is producing. And then, as if it couldn't get any worse, this heat that is being reflected on the backside of the fire is supposed reach you in an elevated state. Sorry does not work that way
Thank you for your continued hard work creating these videos for us. It's very much appreciated.
that 2 piece waxed canvas bed roll with1-2 wool blankets, you'd have a nice sleeping kit with many options.
11:40 pm here in Manila, watching corporal before sleeping
We are watching from Bulacan.

Awesome video. Almost halfway through it
The cowboy roll looks like a Beauty Rest system for the woods. I'm impressed AF. Looking forward to your new axe. Thank you Corporal.
That hollow space is good to keep a wool blanket in
Another awesome video, plus the great bedroll. Keep them coming and take care.
The Cowboy 🤠 shelter unit is awesome ! ❤ it's practical and diversity would make it a great addition to gear carried.
Thanks Corp.
Loved that shelter, too ! Simple
Ah, Sunday night, Corporals Corner and a glass of bourbon. Does it get any better than this? I don't think so.
Keep doing the things others can't or won't do 👍🏻
most talk from the porch
I'm ashamed to say I'm like one of those you described prep-but-no train. Thank you for opening my eyes. 46... thought you might be a little older but no real reason, just guessing. Please keep up the great job you're doing!!!
Me, I do get to live in the woods. Currently I am regaining my musculature after battling cancer & more. Now I'm about to get back out and truly reveling in some extended dirt time. (My fiancé is just about confident that she can trust me getting back out there solo. [As I mentioned, I have had to resign myself to taking time away while I recover and get healthy again). Not getting out fully in Nature has torn holes in my soul, and the honesty of your 'doing' stuff has been a primary force in getting through. I haven't given up hope on what I will be able to do, and I have been blessed to be treated to Corporal's Corner - For me a better name might be - 'Healing The Soul with The Corporal'. So again, Thank you, thank you, thank you for being you and for carrying on!
One thing I think most people forget or get wrong about a Cowboy bed roll and its weight is that they usually had a horse that carried their supplies and didn't have to think about total pack weight as much as a solo camper does today. To me something like this at 4 pounds is excellent and worth it with how much it can do. Thanks for another great video.
Thank you for your comment about "well-used" equipment. I'm 70 years old and have been camping since I was 12. Believe it or not, my bedroll is the original that I started with. BTW: I work out 6 days a week and still can run 2 or more miles per day. When you stay in shape, a heavy bedroll isn't that much of a challenge. A very good video!!
I like the canvass cowboy bedroll and able to make a pillow!!! Bacon and sausage look delicious!!! Another great video!!
Such an AWESOME VIDEO!!! Love it! You just keep on doing what you’re doing, Corporal! Fantabulous as ALWAYS! 🏕🪵🔥🤗
Thanks for the video corporal. Watching a lot on catch up. Lost my dad and my step daughter in the last 12 months and not had much interest in anything. As usual your videos outstanding AF. Thankyou.
If I ate the bacon fried kilbasa, I would need a trenching tool in 15 minutes....
The discussion on windbreak and airflow would make up for it though. Great information on how not to freeze like an idjut. Thank you Corp.
After I got out of AD I swore I'd never sleep rough on the ground. I got into trail riding, but because I can cook and had a big horse (Belgian) 😊 I became part of the chuckwagon crew, never slept on the ground. This system might change my thoughts on this.
As a soldier I frequently carried 10 pounds times 8 so sniveling at 10 pounds make me chuckle.
There is a reason I trust this guy more than most, every thing he does exudes I've done this more times than you've even thought about it. Granted you definitely need private land and what not to build the bigger projects you see him do but this smaller stuff frankly its evident that he just likes doing it, so hes structured a lot of his life so he has the chance to do it, a lot. And yeah I know he isn't backpacking. But boy it would be cool to see a midweek video on rucking/backpacking/having to cover ground with all this gear. Cause sometimes I think hes got to be close to his car, more than like 70 lbs or so and there is no way hes hiking 3-4 miles one way to his site then having time to build all this and film it.
This was so cool. Back when I was young in the ‘60’s my dad had both waxed canvas and oiled canvas. I loved the waxed canvas smell and feel. This brought back so many memories thx.
Bacon wrapped kielbasa, OMG Corp, you live like a king! Also noticed the hog leg, sooo cool.. One of the traits I really admire about you is your honesty. Not afraid to tell it like it is. A tenant I keep reminding my grandsons of, be humble, honest and brave, that’s why they watch you. So they’re just not hearing it from me. Watching your videos is a great way to start off our week. Thanks brother and as always stay frosty AF.👍
Hey corp your waxed canvas page doesn't work
Tenet
As usual, well done. I get great happiness from watching your videos. I am 76YO, so used to do this and now enjoy watching.
Very nice set up. Bed roll camping at its best. Thank you for video
Credit to the Corporal. Getting out there and doing it, using the gear and adapting knowledge and skills to move forward. That is above average from the screen suckers.
Stuff wrapped in bacon on Corporal’s Cuisine! I like this Cowboy Kit…
I'm a disabled veteran I know I'm not in any shape to go out and just go camping for the fun of it but your videos do give me ideas on how to do things in different ways so if something happens and I find myself out in the wilderness I can make a shelter in different ways .
Great looking kit!! Thanks for what you do!
Love these cowboy camp out videos enhanced by open carry😊
Another OUTSTANDING video
Excellent video. I’ve always wanted a Cowboy bedroll but everything I’ve found isn’t really what I was looking for. This is. Thanks for showing me the details.
Another informational video. Thanks for taking the time that you do.
I'll be 60 years old in 2 weeks. And I need to get back in shape. So, I will try this week. Thanks again for telling the truth and speaking your mind. So of us need it.
Sundays fundays! Opened as soon as I received notification!
Gotta respect the decent eggs, the amount of burnt horrible eggs I see these UA-camr campers cook up lol
I carry a blue closed cell foam mat in my bed roll... I know.. but I do like a little real padding lol
Awesome video. Great explanation of the wind screen for those who don't know.
Corporal and coffee. Ready to start my Sunday.
Deep fried, bacon wrapped sausage. Only the corporal.
I haven't watched one of your videos in over a year and just thought about today, glad I could find it
Awesome video and nice to see "proper" camp food on the menu again!
Great video with great insights not only for the outdoors but for life. Thank you for talking about getting fit. I needed that reminder. Keep up the great work as always.
Thank you for another outstanding video!
I am 69 years old and can still throw a 30/35 lb pack on my back and back pack through the mountains for a few days
Always beat part of week even though I love all your mid week vids Sunday is like the rest up chill out and watch a good overnight campout. Thanks for the work your doing as always 💪
You sold me on tarps instead of tents. All you need is a tarp, bankline, wool blanket, good knife, nesting cup, and lighter.
a single action i would of guessed a 1911 kind of guy
two 1911's and 3 single action revolvers... I'm just a firearms kinda guy XD
I purchased your Hardcore ax hammer. It is excellent.
I love that you are explaining things as you do them. I feel it's leveling you up as a UA-camr and we can see your Love and passion for Bushcraft. Keep keep keeping on
did it for 14 years
You MIGHT want to keep the hoodies....for FATHERS DAY GIFTS
Another quality video. That cowboy bedroll is well designed and looks durable.😊 Please keep the videos coming, Shawn.
I would rather be the oldest person in the weight room than the youngest in the retirement home.
The heat rolling around in your shelter is a perfect example of "Convection"...One of the three forms of heat transfer.
After the 15:00 minute mark, the thought of a midnight snack (leftovers) was in my head.
I like the bedroll system. Again, you tie it all in. Nicely done. TVB…Bill
Ain't nobody buying that cowboy blanket. C'mon man.
Absolutely incredible thermal energy recirculation great job Sean
CCs overnighters: best videos ever!! My favorite thing to watch on UA-cam.
Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪🇺🇸
Great Job as always! You always make your instruction simple and to the point. It is great that you actually do use the equipment that you advertise and create. Keep up the great videos and instruction!!
And this is why i watch you and not the others. Only got time to watch one good looking man, oh i mean awesome bushcraft guy 😅. Have a great weekend hun .
Another Outstanding video 🙌🏻 I always look forward to Sunday if it’s Sunday it’s Corporal’s Corner 🙌🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Love your weekday and weekend videos. So glad you increased them. To your video thoughts today: I would add that, in addition to being physically capable, it is equally if not more important to be mentally capable. Being caught up in a SHTF scenario can knock out the strongest individual if their head is not in the right place. Spiritual strength is another necessity, because when all seems lost, mind body and spirit work together, along with the almighty. to help get you through. (speaking from experience).
An excellent video big guy. Staying in shape is absolutely vital. When I came out of an almost month long coma, I was shocked at how weak my body had become. Thankfully, I have been an exercise nut since since the eighties. That foundation allowed me to learn to walk again, much faster than normal. Its also helped me recover from chemo and radiation treatments much quicker13+yr brain tumor warrior.🏋️♀️
Excellent video , I learn something new on every video ty
Outstanding as always.
Looks like that Cowboy camp ain't so bad. The camp axe looks sweet! 👍🏻
Nice to see the Helikon Swagman roll getting a trip out!
I've used that very same camp setup only it was with about a foot of snow on the ground and around 15 degrees out .the tarp I used had a heat reflective bottom on it which worked freaking awesome throwing the heat off of the fire right back on to you . Definitely one to use on chilly 🥶nights 👍
Awesome info once again sir! Also, 1st time I've seen you with a pew.....👍
Glad you got your new camera the video shows a great project and the bacon Kolbosa looked great. Keep up the good work and the explanations of heat transfer
I'd like to see a 2-3 inch flap that extends past the snaps all the way around on the up side so as to guaruntee the rain rolls off past the bottom side. Or have the bottom (ground) side roll up under the top and snap. And as usual it could be a little bigger.
Always a wealth of information and understanding. Thanks corporal kelly.
Blessings.
Great video. I always wanna go camping after watching one.
Hey Shawn, excellent video with some great tips on cowboy camping! Thank you…🇺🇸
As usual, awesome show. Excellent display of using equipment and surviving in a K.I.S.S. method. Nice Cowboy bedroll.
More Bacon outstanding
Another fine weekend video
Outstanding and awesome as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
In Scouting, 60 years ago, we learned about the 'reflector fireplace'. On one late fall camping trip, we built one in front of our tent entrance, and the radiated heat was good to have, as we slept in our cotton and kapoc sleeping bags.
Thank you for more great information
Corporal is there a camping video game. That's all most people today know , in shape is just another word for finger strength, Thanks again for great video
Thanks for all you truly demonstrate and prove works.
Excellent video and glad to see the hogleg on your hip!
Been a long time watcher....this is one of your best vids corporal.
Awesome AF as always!!! Thank you for the pointer to Camp Craft Outdoors!
