You blew my mind with the campfire smoke “following you” fact. No wonder that’s always a losing battle! Between your fire tips, knot tutorials and “corporal style” cooking - you’ve elevated my camping game for me and my family. Thank you, sir! 🫡

Sorry about some of the negative posts you are getting. That’s the ones on the couch with their professional opinion. You are promoting like anyone else on planet earth pushing your products. I’d be doing the same thing. Another great video as always. And my son owns a company and pushes his product all the time. Imagine that!!

If you don’t push/advertise your products nobody will ever buy them. It’s hard enough getting people to buy with advertising. And some corporals products are hand made by him which makes the better. Hardcore Hammers are also great products made in the United States.

Yep product promotion dose not belong in a outdoor ruff camping set up.
We need to learn to do things with simple tools your tarp rips or your tent most can't fix outside of a store . Pine sap and old jeans saturated make a water proof patch canvases tarps I can stick them seal in a similar way.

I've watched these videos for a LOT of years, I keep coming back because I appreciate the Corporals delivery. The Corporal has always taken the time to explain the why behind his video. He takes the time to say: You should do X, because if you don't you get Y,When you want Z. Get it?
Thanks for all you do Corporal, the trails are watching.✊️

Phenomenal video. Very informative as always. I’ve been watching this guy for 10 years. I have three boys and they are corporal fans as well.
People would be crazy for leaving this channel since he’s become a well known ICON in Bushcraft. What I am about to say is meant as constructive criticism. I would like to see this channel grow. Maybe reconsider putting a strong emphasis on not recapping what took place on the previous video. For those of us those follow religiously it can be redundant. Otherwise hang in there.

I believe another advantage of making your shelter as comfortable as possible as soon as possible is that you'll get better sleep. Thus delaying the inevitable exhaustion that always seems to happen in a survival situation. And better shelter means you are burning fewer calories to keep warm, which also extends your useful working time, before the inevitable exhaustion happens.

I love a bearded axe, with the addition of the dimpled hammer on the back it makes it perfect for a camp axe. That’s Corp for going through the trouble of designing and taking the risk to bring us a high quality product. By the way, if you don’t have haters then you aren’t doing anything of any importance. Keep rocking the boat, keep making waves.

This was a good design Corp. About to take my daughter out on another survival lesson trip and Im gonna teach her this one. Thanks! BTW I've used alot of your skill vids to teach her because vids are easier for her to learn from than me explaining it. Especially knots. I test her knot skills in the backyard until she's got it and then we go use em in the field. I can't tell you how much your vids have helped me teach her skills and how to plan priorities first in a dire situation.

  • @jimlong3288

One of the best things about this set up is you will pick up the wood smoke in your clothes. Not only does that mask your scent from game, but it will also,by standing over the fire with your coat spread open, allow the smoke to get rid of any body odor you have accumulated ...... A great trick for hunters.

I have suggestion for your coffee fix in the morning. Boil enough water for a large coffee, (18-20 oz.), Use 2 packets of your favorite coffee, 1/2 packet of chocolate Carnation instant breakfast, 1 teaspoon of brown sugar and a heaping teaspoon of whole dry milk. Add a good breakfast and your good to go ! I buy instant coffee at the supermarket and make a bunch of those with small zip locks for ease of use.

I like this concept, adjusted to suit needs,
Compared to the grass layer last week, which, would keep you warm enough night 1.
This removes the sleeping on crushed grasses.
Grasses might be wet, mildewy, musty, moldy,
These sticks, you said are starting out a bit wet, but will dry out from the fire.
And the air flow underneath, warmed by the fire, should be Positive convection in cold weather, using the fire.
You are sleeping in the area where the heat rises.
    Very nice.
Might be able to raise the ridge line, if necessary, if a heavy storm came in, get that little bit of separation from the wet tarp.
Or perhaps a slightly lower raised bed.
I like that there are no grasses to catch fire.
Ie. Season 6 alone. That seemed fine until it wasn't. And that fire ended his run when his shelter burned down midnight midstorm.
That's a really nice tarp. I like the outer border rain shedding,
I like the secure points. The ridge line.
    Very nice.

Didn't miss the mid week video. Not sure how people aren't seeing it come up. Every time a new video drops, it's first on my suggested list but I do watch every video.
As for that axe, looks nice and seems to perform like a beast and an added point to the hammer end that isnt mentioned, it's far better than using the back of a regular axe head which will eventually deform and loosen from taking blows to a softer tempered area. I'm broke AF at the moment but eventually if these become a standard feature one can buy, I'll replace my Helko Werk axe with this one.

This is something I've been telling people for 20+ years I've always carried a hatchet, hell I made a scout carry sling for my son in the first thing I gave him was a hatchet before a knife, i have also always carried a hatchet with me for most my life in the woods since a young boy obviously and people underestimate the utility of a hatchet and knife combo.
knife for knife tasks and Hatchet for Hatchet tasks, it's really that simple.
Yes it's one more tool but that vastly changes the amount of work you have to do and you don't have to bring a big knife you can bring a small pocket knife and keep your hatchet on your belt instead for the bigger tasks. Especially if shawn kelly is backing this product,
it's a buy once cry once scenario, it's a tool that will last you a lifetime of taking care of properly and used the way it's supposed to be.
Yes you may have to replace the handle but I don't know one person useing hammers or Hatchets that someone's never had to replace a handle, on wooden handle obviously.
when they actually use it. it's just something that happens sometimes buy a back up handel and keep it in your shop/garage.

One of your best videos Corporal - even we advanced bushcrafters need some reminders, and the newbies will learn a ton. Great little shelter!
