Your're supposed to connect both adapters to wall sockets, not an extension lead. That's why your speed was low. Connect both to a wall socket and try again.

how do you use this to extend your existing network instead of connecting a device to a new netgear powerline wifi ssid? Because my eufy security cameras all need to be on the same network they cannot connect to a different wifi ssid

I have never had such problem with my powerline adapter. It might be related with many other things too. See if the problem exists with direct network cable. Otherwise I suggest getting it replaced.

Red means low mbs so that’s an issue with your router I’m having a pairing issue

It might be because your electrical wire setup is different. It needs to be in the same circuit. Hope it helps.

We better try the outlet without surge protection. Never plug it in the extension boards that will give you just a glass out of the ocean.

Not exactly. A wifi repeater uses wifi to boost the signal, whereas a powerline adapter makes use of electrical wire to transfer data so there is no interference in between the signal from router to the device.
