Strong work! I'm looking a installing a 351W based motor in an NB Miata. Custom headers will be a necessity for my motor swap too. Regarding the headers you used, were they 1 5/8" primaries with a 2.5 " collector? I'm going to try to fab up a set of 1 3/4" primary headers with a 3" collector. I got a mock up plastic header fabrication kit to help. It's going to be a bear of a job for sure.
My buddy @ThomasMiata has modified camaro long tubes with the larger size primaries on his Miata. He uses a motor plate in the front of the engine and has a reverse mount starter, so he had just enough space to pull it off. for me, my motor mounts made it impossible to run my exhaust normal.
Thx for the heads up, I'm aware of that rule which is the main reason i never entertained a front exhaust, but i have some time before i run competitively, and it will be easy to switch the exhaust later when i spec everything out for pro am rules. My goal right now is to have a seat time car with a foundation to run proam.
Good to learn. 👍🙏
Looking good! Well done!

If this is a proam build, the exhaust has to pass by the rear axle.
